from Tramon Collins. A four star athlete that Florida has been recruiting him to play wide receiver. But he was committed to Florida under the Billy Napier regime. And then he decommitted from Florida in December. And is now back with the Florida Gators for the 2027 recruiting class. I look at it. It's something blame anybody for decommitting to begin with, right? This is a Florida Gator scene that had an awful season. Looked awful was being coached awful. And then yeah, no real idea what was going on with them. What the staff is going to look like. And how this is going to shake out. But he is once again a Florida Gator. And again, reports are that he's going to be playing wide receiver for Florida six foot two 185 pounds. Kind of tells you that size wise. He's someone that should be lining up on the outside.

Going vertical. But you watch his film from cotton bail. And he is lining up in the slot a lot. Taking wide receiver screens or lower slot screens. Taking pop passes, touch passes, whatever you want to call them. Bromance slot. Little jet pop passes like we saw. Tray Lewis. And take. And he's house him. And then the next clip you can see him running vertical. And just going up over top someone that is smaller than him. Tron Collins is one hell of an athlete in the sense of his athletic ability. But also just in the sense of. He flambo sides the ball. He could do a lot. He's just athletic. That's what the Florida Gators are bringing up to their looking for, right? And getting an athlete is something that. You can bring in someone that can fill motorals or fill whichever role fits best for them. You can bring in someone that has the athletic ability to do anything you need them to do.

And then you kind of as a coach just get to go. All right. Let me work with this. Like let me develop this and let me turn this into what I need this guy to be. For me. Like that kind of. That kind of just. That's the approach that we're going to have, right? We're going to build this guy up. We're going to develop him. And he got a high ceiling. And that's what Florida has been looking for. We've talked about this before with John Someral Monday or Tuesday's episode where. Florida is looking for guys that have elite athletic traits. That you can't really teach. And then you go develop them. And that's their higher ceiling players. Tremont Collins has that at wine receiver. He's got dynamic playmate capability with the ball in his hands. And we know that because we saw him do it. He's got the ability to run vertical. And go essentially moss someone. Because we've seen him do it.

Now you get to see him do it with the Florida Gators. And he is also is just someone that. I know a lot of people talk about how. How Florida is recruiting so many wide receivers right now. And there's there's people that are like oh well then. You're going to have to stop taking them at some point right. Maybe. But also maybe not so much. We can talk about that in the second half of this. But Tremont Collins comes in. He's a four star on rivals. 100 third player in the country. Fourth athlete in the country. Ninth player in the state of Florida. He's a four star on 24 seven hundred seventy second player in the country. Eighth athlete 18th player in the state of Florida. And he is a four star on ESPN 147th player in the country. Seventh athlete 18th player in the state of Florida. And he gives the Florida Gators their third commit. Of the 2027 recruiting class which obviously means the Florida is not going to be. Super high ranked right now. Right. You look at the. The. Rivals composite team rankings.

And right now Florida seventh in the SEC. That's what you get when you have three commits right now. Right. Still very early in the process. But Florida again going for what we've seen is. Mostly blue chip guys like even just who they're recruiting right now. Not even just who's in the class. But also who they're recruiting is blue chip guys. That have athletic traits that you can develop. And they have a higher ceiling for you right now. We're going to talk about this Florida Gators recruiting class where they go next. What's up with all the wide receiver targets. When we get back. We thought on Gators. I'm Clea Butler host of locked on women's basketball. And this is Mazda's women's basketball snapshot celebrating the work. No highlight reel can ever capture. Texas won its first ever SEC championship on Sunday beating South Carolina 78 to 61.

And snapping the game costs three year run as SEC tournament champions. In the big 10 championship UCLA dominated Iowa 96 to 45. The 51 point margin is the most lopsided title game in big 10 tournament history. With a resume that includes 18 quad one wins in one of the toughest schedules in the country. UCLA is making a serious push for the overall number one seed. But Yukon has held that spot all season and remains the nation's only on the team. These moments are earned off the clock those long before the lights ever come on. The sweat the fakes the doubt the scrapes and coming back for more every time. Mazda puts that same drive into every detail wins to find the moment. Putting in the work that defines you. There's more to a Mazda because there's more to you. What's retreated like markets now you put your sports IQ to work in real time with Robin Hood prediction markets.

It's not you against the house. It's you participating in a live market. You can buy or sell positions live all game long easier sports knowledge in the moments that matter. Robinhood prediction markets change the game. It's people with the action. So when momentum shifts. You can move with it. Always knew the game and never had a dynamic way to apply that knowledge. Now. To actually take part live in a market powered by people you're no longer just a spectator play by play you decide trade every play with Robin Hood. Now available across the US down the Robin Hood app now to begin futures and cleared swaps trading involved significant risk and is not appropriate for everyone event contracts are offered by Robin Hood derivatives LLC a registered futures commission merchant and swap firm. Thanks for a lot of our Gators your first listen up the day every day we are available daily and free was the podcast and on YouTube and the Florida Gators landed a commitment from Tramon Collins a four star that was once committed to them earlier in the cycle decommitted from them and has recommitted.

I do feel like we've seen that happen. Many times in recent years of guys committing decommitting for whatever reason and then committing once again I mean for Florida you saw it in the 2020. Four class with nose tackle McCoy boy row McCoy boy row committed to Florida. Then popped off a proven wise decommitted from Florida. And then came back to commit to Florida he just eventually and we spoke about this where he essentially was saying you know what. I think I might have committed too early I'm just not ready for it yet. So that's where we're going. And we've seen that before we saw it was just about to is getting recruited by everybody right and ultimately ended up at Florida and now Tramon Collins of course Tramon Collins is the only one that had a coaching change happen throughout that whole time. But Tramon Collins joins the Florida Gators 2027 recruiting class as a wide receivers what he's been recruited as and that leaves a bunch of people going well Florida's been recruiting a ton of wide receivers and Florida feels really good about multiple wide receivers.

All right you got Elias you got speedy not committed yet but predictions have come in you got Tramon Collins now and at a certain point people are going to go well when do you have enough receivers. First off Florida has an a raid offensive coordinator not saying that the offense is going to be a full a raid but an a raid offensive coordinator you can never have too many wide receivers that's rule number one rule number two or note number two is that Florida will not have. A ton of wide receivers in 2027 right Eric singleton junior who's going to be one of your top producing receivers it's going to be the NFL by that point. And then you got to consider that you brought in a few freshman you brought in a lot of upper class me into the transfer portal some of which have eligibility remaining and those that do have eligibility remaining after 2026. Well they might be pushed back into the portal after 2026 if there's just not a spot for them when you bring in all of these true freshman for the 2027 class on top of the true freshman from the 2026 class on top of guys like Bernabre on the third and Dallas Wilson will be entering their draft eligible year in 2027.

After 2026 you're going to have quite a bit of attrition from that wide receiver room attrition is not always a bad thing and after the 2027 season you're going to have even more just again based on how the numbers work out right now so you go heavy I receiver in the 2027 recruiting class. Then you have all the talent that you need all the bodies that you need youth athletes and you develop them from that point and you get guys that have specific skill sets so that some are going to be you know in a box sometimes you're going to say hey you're purely a slot guy that we're going to send across the field on on mesh and on deep crossers and we're just going to try to get to the ball while you're running. Right there's going to be some guys like Tramon Collins where you go hey sometimes you're going to be lined about wide and you're going to run vertical sometimes you're going to be lined up in the slot and you're going to run a screen or you're going to run you're going to be the other mesh man right underneath.

Sometimes you're going to be lined up in the slot you're going to come across the formation and we're going to pop pass it to you and we're just trying to get you the ball in creative ways. Tramon Collins fitting that role of the guy that can line up everywhere he has the size to line up everywhere this isn't putting someone that's five foot 10 out wide this is putting someone that's six to one 85 wide we've seen him jump and we've seen him run and we've seen him just be a better athlete that a lot of people on the field which sure might not be the exact same case in the SEC but it's someone that we've seen go out there and make place and look Florida. Florida won this one early on and then had the decommittment and kind of just want it right back even after the decommittment it wasn't like oh yeah this kid's done. It's not happening even after the initial decommittment it still felt like all right like very possible that Florida is going to take this step up and become the answer for him once again.

And again you're going to see things like that happen pretty consistently he visited Florida multiple times after decommitting from Florida he went to campus last week. To watch in Florida really prioritizing there you beat Auburn who you've run into a thousand times in recruiting trail lately Florida state LSU so Lane Kippen Georgia right now Florida has the Tramon Collins commitment that being said I don't think it's necessarily over right you've committed and decommitted before once you decommit once it's pretty easy to do it a second time just to be completely honest. So I don't think it's necessarily over with Tramon Collins but the Florida Gators again I've landed a commitment every single time that john someral has has done an interview with me I'm just saying I'm just saying if you want to do it every day we can run it every day we can just keep filling up this recruiting class like that.

And throw that out there john someral will be on lockdown Gators tomorrow morning 3 a.m. Eastern time on audio 8 a.m. Eastern time on YouTube and we will be back in about 30 minutes talk about DJ Coleman the Florida Gators. Trans report of safety for a lot of Gators on brain that also don't get to follow me on Twitter and WNS underscore brain and find all my written work with the New York Giants with New York Giants I and swamps it with that's website dot com I'll see you all next time.
