Tony Katz on Artemis II Preparation & Kirk Bullet Doesn't Match

0:00Why, from the heartland and the crossroads of America, it's Tony Katz today. I'm going to talk to a bunch of members of the team and I'll say, normally when we're in the firing room working over there, folks have got their heads down and they're working and they're doing all the business that we do of the space business, but I'll say there was a lot of smiles today, so it felt really good about that as the team is preparing, I think everybody's pretty excited and understands the significance of this launch. We did talk to the flight crew last night, we had a briefing with them, we had another one just a little bit before I went down the firing room, we had another briefing with them last night, it was just to kind of go over the day launch routine with them and kind of a refresher for ourselves and for them and that went really well, they were in great spirits, and then we had another briefing today just to talk about how the launch countdown was going and as we'll talk here in a little bit, it's been going really well.

1:18We're talking about the fly by of the moon that is scheduled for April 1st, which is a terrible day to do, who does a flight on the April Fool's Day? That is just, that is not the timing I would have gone for, but then again, I'm not in charge of timing for NASA. Tony Katz, Tony Katz today, an absolute pleasure guys, good to be with you, it's a 10 day mission and Artemis is about getting back to the moon. This is the first time since the Apollo program, what is the point here? Well, the point is something that just a good amount of thinking has brought us to. And that is if the plan is Mars, right? If the plan is to get to Mars, an exploration of Mars, how does that happen? And what has been clearly understood is that it would be easier if you were launching from the moon.

2:35First, you have a little bit of distance, but really what you get is the benefit of a lack of atmosphere and a lack of gravity, not a total lack of gravity, but a great lack of gravity. If you're talking about launching, I don't claim an expertise, I do claim an understanding that I get the mouth. If you are talking about launching from Earth, you have to overcome this gravity with a tremendous amount of force and fuel, and now you got to take a flight to Mars, which is not an easy thing to do by the way. I still argue large levels of impossible. If you're doing it from the moon, you have some distance you don't have to cover, right? You're not halfway there by any stretch, but you got some distance you don't have to cover. And man, is it a lot easier to punch through whatever atmosphere may minutely exist, allowing you more opportunity, more fuel, etc. to get to where you're going.

3:41That is as layman as I can get. That's really as layman as I can understand it. What you have, so if the question is, is the moon a hub for Mars? The moon is a hub for a lot of things. That is a strong possibility, and that's where a lot of these conversations are now. I think it's fascinating. And I will tell you that the moon or NASA is one of the, it might be the only thing left where I say, I know government shouldn't be in this business per say, I know that government shouldn't spend its money like this. I don't care, do it, I think it's awesome. The level of hypocrite, you can call me on this subject, goes from now until the end of time, I accept. I accept, I get what I'm doing, I get what I'm saying, I understand completely and totally. It's true, it's true. Yet, it's awesome.

4:53I think there is something to it. I think there's something you can call it romantic. I just think of, look at what our fellow human beings thought of as possible and then did. It's why SpaceX is so unbelievable. These people who hate Elon Musk and call him dumb, screw them. Morons, morons, embarrassing, pathetic, low people. It's amazing. It is all spectacular. Spectacular and terrific. I just want to see more of it. I just want to see more of it. That's all. Love it. What I'd like to see less of is this absolute nonsense garbage that the Daily Mail just put out about Charlie Kirk. This is truly, truly disgusting. What they posted over there at the Daily Mail reads,

6:04bullet used to kill Charlie Kirk did not match rifle allegedly used by Suspect Tyler Robinson. New court filing claims. Well, that's something that's not what actually happened. It is an incendiary, disgusting, horrifying headline. So it was a conspiracy. So can the soons was right. Hey, let me click on this story to get more. It is beyond a misleading headline. It's a lie because when we take a look at what it is they found during autopsy.

7:06They state that the result of the comparison was inconclusive. Somehow the defense trying to mount the defense wants to make a claim that this proves that it wasn't Tyler Robinson. No, it doesn't. ATF ran as is been reported and analysis on the bullet jacket fragment recovered from Charlie's autopsy. The result was inconclusive, not no match. Those are two different things. Now people who play in that world might be able to give me a little more data and a little more explanation. The jacket was too fragment to compare, which also partially explains the lack of an exit wound. Incinclusive means insufficient evidence to draw any conclusion. It does not mean that the bullet did not match the rifle as the headline stated the false inflammatory.

8:12Let me get some clicks headline. So now what the defense is saying is that they want this to be exculpatory. Right? Exculpatory to clear someone of guilt. But that's not what this data does. That's not what this data can do, not by any stretch. There are other testings that could take place and the defense doesn't want those tests because they want to be able to rest on something inconclusive lie about what it is and help their clients who seems to have murdered Charlie Kirk. It is beyond, beyond ugly. What it is that the Daily Mail has done here.

9:27The defense is questioning how the bullet gets matched. They're trying to defend their clients and what you want is to say, hey, click here. I mean, I understand that that clicks are a, you know, how do I clean this up clicks are prostitutes game. Honestly, that's the best I could do to clear it up. I swear to you. But this is dirty. This is dirty and obscene. And that's what that seems to be where we're at right now. We're in the dirty kind of play. And people find with it solid with it. They think that it's somehow acceptable. What part of this would be acceptable and no one's going to stop reading the Daily Mail tomorrow.

10:36What's going to happen is it's going to get quoted. It's going to get used. It's going to get utilized. Bloody heck, even I will sometimes still use a CNN story as a source. I know that CNN is full of garbage. I'm fully aware that these people can't be trusted. But they do have one or two people left who can go about doing some reporting. My God, there's still some reporters of the New York Times, you know, it's just that the New York Times can't be trusted. It's, it is just flat out horrifying that this would happen. But I guess not surprising. So with that, when you read that headline, know how nonsense it is, know how shameful it is, and know that no, it's not what it claims to be.
