Travelers are facing the longest wait times in history as TSA workers call out, going without pay due to the partial government shutdown. Many wondering just how long this will last and our wit Jonathan starts us off at JFK Airport here in New York. Good morning, Whit. Hey, Michael. Good morning to you with those security lines getting longer and thousands of TSA officers calling out day after day. The administration is sending hundreds more ICE agents to airports across the country to help fill the void and now President Trump is warning he may have to call up

1:00the National Guard. This morning, the mounting travel chaos at airports across the country, now pushing wait times at security lines to historic levels. This has led to the highest wait times in TSA history with some wait times greater than four and a half hours. We are being forced to consolidate lanes and may have to close smaller airports if we do not have enough officers. The partial government shutdown, hitting day 41, amid the spring break travel crush. Nationwide, more than 11% of all TSA officers calling out Tuesday with nearly 40% not showing up to major airports in New York, Atlanta, New Orleans and Houston. We were here yesterday and our flight left at 805. We got here at 330. We missed our flight after being in line for like four hours. Long lines at George Bush Intercontinental Airport stretching outside the terminal. A lot more Christian Cordero is there. Travelers here at Bush Intercontinental already know to get to the airport early

2:01with some arriving at midnight for their early morning flight. About 50,000 TSA officers now going nearly a month without pay. For some, this is their second government shutdown since October. We're still bouncing back from the last one. People are still, they're in the negative. They can't get back on their feet the way that we should be able to. It comes as hundreds of ice agents who are still getting paid have been deployed to at least 14 airports to assist with crowd management. But Maggie Sabatino, a TSA officer and union president at Philadelphia International Airport says it doesn't appear to be helping. We were told that they were supposed to be there to offer us assistance but standing around. It's not helping us. It's putting us on edge. Now most of those long lines we're seeing are happening during peak travel time. Some major airlines including Delta and United are offering waivers so that travelers can change their flights without any additional fees. But those offers are mostly limited

3:01to specific airports, those hardest hit airports across the country. Robin. Okay, what are things to you? We're going to get more in the gridlock in Washington over ending the partial government shutdown. Jay O'Brien tracking the latest there on Capitol Hill for us. Good morning to you, Jay. Robin, good morning. Do you 41 days since the Department of Homeland Security ran out of funding and there was still a stalemate up here on Capitol Hill senators trying to put together the pieces of a deal that fell apart earlier this week. The Senate yesterday voting on a Republican proposal to fund every single agency inside the Department of Homeland Security that would include the TSA, just not immigration enforcement operations like deportations. That was a big concession from Republicans to Democrats. And an approach that Democrats have been calling for for weeks but it failed because every single Democratic, except for Pennsylvania's John Federman, voted against it, saying that should also include reforms to ICE, like requiring agents wear body cameras prohibiting them from wearing masks. Demands Democrats have been making over the course

4:01of this funding standoff. So we're told that bipartisan negotiations on that are still creeping along. And this morning President Trump is now turning up the pressure on Republicans in a post just moments ago. He once again called on Senate Republicans to eliminate the Senate's longstanding filibuster rule, something that Republicans have been rejecting now for months, and use that mechanism to fund the Department of Homeland Security as well as pass the president's voter ID legislation. Michael. All right, thank you so much for that. Jay, we're going to go overseas now to the latest on the war with Iran. Iran said it had rejected a US peace plan, but President Trump claimed the country is eager to make a deal to end the war and that negotiations are ongoing. Whether or not they are negotiating the bombs are still falling. With Iran launching at least five attacks on Israel in two hours overnight, Matt Rivers is in Doha Cutter with the latest on the ground there. Good morning, Matt. Good morning, Robin. Iran lashing out once again this morning as Israel says they now killed the man in charge of blocking the state of Hormuz,

5:01starting in Israel where we've seen at least seven missiles targeting the country, including this one striking a car multiple people injured by falling debris. Israel saying they have just killed the head of the Iranian Navy as President Trump looks to strike a potential deal with Iran. And here in the Gulf, two people were killed in the UAE after an Iranian attack by rain, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait also attacked overnight in this video from Iraq earlier this week, showing a US base being targeted by Shia militia drones. President Trump says he wants to negotiate from a position of strength, but it is clear, Michael, that Iran is trying to do the same. All right. Thank you so much. And then turn out to the landmark decision and the social media addiction trial. Meta and YouTube both found negligent and a verdict that's put in a spotlight on mental health and a potential harm linked to these popular apps. Olivia Sildi had the story for us. Good morning, Olivia. Hey, good morning, Michael. In this landmark trial, Meta and YouTube appeared before a jury for the first time over claims that their apps were designed to get kids and teens addicted. They lost the case, and some are now calling this

6:02a big tobacco moment for Big Tech. This morning, an historic verdict could open the floodgates to more lawsuits against social media companies, a jury finding Meta's Instagram and Google's YouTube harmed kids and teens by designing their apps to be addictive. We've sent a message with this that you will be held accountable. Outside the LA courtroom, Mary Rody honoring her son Riley, who she says took his own life after being blackmailed by someone using a fake account online. These are the names of children who are no longer with us. The jury are warning $6 million in damages to the 20-year-old named Kayleigh at the center of the trial. Kayleigh testified she started watching YouTube at age 6. At age 9, she was on Instagram. At one point, spending 16 hours in a day on the app. She says features like push notifications and filters got her hooked and led to body image issues, anxiety and depression.

7:03During the seven-week trial, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was confronted over internal documents. Showing that in 2015, Meta estimated more than 4 million users under the age of 13 were on Instagram, about 30 percent of all 10 to 12-year-olds in the US. Both Meta and YouTube now vowing to appeal the verdict. Team mental health is profoundly complex and cannot be linked to a single app. YouTube adding in its statement, it's a responsibly built streaming platform, not a social media site. Meta also says it will appeal the $375 million verdict in a separate New Mexico case this week over child exploitation online. This LA verdict really does pave the path for thousands of similar lawsuits by families, states and school districts seeking damages and changes to how these apps work, Robin. We will most likely see more of those lawsuits. You're right about that, Elizabeth. Thank you. Now to Savannah Guthrie, giving her first interview since her mother Nancy disappeared nearly two months ago,

8:04making a passionate plea for help. Chief investigative correspondent Erica Tursky is here with that story for us. Good morning, Erin. Good morning, Robin. 54 days without answers. And Savannah Guthrie is now doing all she can to try to keep the story of her mother's disappearance alive, pleading with the kidnapper and sharing her family's unbearable agony. This morning, nearly two months since her mother's abduction, a grief-stricken Savannah Guthrie. And her first interview is renewing her desperate plea for Nancy Guthrie's return. Someone needs to do the right thing. We are an agony. We are an agony. It is unbearable. The Today host says she constantly replays the early morning of February 1st, her vulnerable mother alone, a masked intruder at the door. I did think of what she went through. I wake up every night. In the middle of the night.

9:04Every night. And in the darkness. I imagine her terror. Despite thousands of tips and weeks of investigation, there are no new leads. Only these images from Nancy Guthrie's doorbell camera, showing the armed man in a mask with a gun, holster, jacket, and backpack. I think the timing of Savannah's interview is just about right. It's been a while since we've had any sort of public dialogue with law enforcement. I think it's an excellent idea, because there's really nothing to lose in doing it. And the potential obviously is what you might gain. There is no sign of Nancy Guthrie. There are no new clues. A Florida lab is still trying to untangle a mixed DNA sample found at her house. And so far, the painstaking search of Walmart sales records for the owner of that backpack turned up nothing. We tell the family, definitely, hope for a revolution. We feel their pain. 10:04I'm going to turn now to the severe weather threat with damaging winds, large hail and possible tornadoes, taking aim at parts of the Midwest, genders tracking it offwards. Good morning. Good morning. So Illinois, Indiana, Ohio. I'm going to need your attention here. And the states around them, like Michigan, Pennsylvania, back to Missouri, you'll want to pay attention to. This morning, it's nice and Cleveland. You're getting ready. You're saying, OK, good day ahead. Well, by this afternoon and the early evening, you're going to see the potential for severe storms. So there's a large area that's included in that, but we want to time it out and show you that Chicago starts this afternoon, so you could have some strong storms, damaging wind, tornadoes, and hail. They're all at play. And then from Peoria, over to Fort Wayne, Detroit's getting it, Cleveland, over to say, it already blew through area at that point. But then through the overnight hours into midnight, this stuff is training. I mean, it goes over the same area. So you could see not just the damaging winds and tornadoes and hail, but flash flooding, too. So if you are in that level three out of five from Ohio back through Central Indiana, including Indianapolis and as Peoria,

11:05just keep an eye on that. But anywhere here, two to five, Detroit, Pittsburgh, back to say, Missouri, you're going to be watching this, too. Remember, we also have that record heat happening all the way out. Look at Indianapolis. Before you get the storms, you could see a daily record today at 85. Robin. All right, Ginger. Wow. It is opening day. But that's not stopping fans who are excited about seeing the NFL come back for Chief Star Court of Back, Patrick Mahomes, posting a new video that is raising fans' hopes of a week one return. Sam, please. It feels a little like a comeback when you see this video. This is going to make you happy this morning. Good morning, guys. Mahomes giving fans something to talk about, even in the off season. This time, it's his highly anticipated comeback from tearing his ACL. Now, the two-time MVP shared this clip on Instagram that shows him in training. We see him drop back, throw the ball. The caption reading, day by day, felt great being able to throw the ball around today. It's the first time we've seen Mahomes in action in months. Now, back in December, 2025. That was week 15 of the season.

12:06He tore his left ACL and his ACL and gained against the charges. It's hard to watch. Mahomes falling to the turf in a scramble with less than two minutes on the clock in a heartbreaking 16-13 loss. Now, he's been through surgery and rehab. Mahomes has said he hopes to suit up for the new NFL season in September, fueling the team's football momentum. Now, star, tied in Travis Kelsey, just wrapped his contract, locking it in with the Chiefs for the 14th season. For now, the team is focusing on their upcoming off-season practice schedule and getting back in championship form. But this, I think, made everybody feel good, whether you're a fan or not a fan of the team. I mean, I think everybody pretty much a fan of his, unless you're not a Chiefs fan and you're probably scared to come back so soon. But I think he probably had the ways to go, but he's going to definitely be back to the season and help that team, best in the league. Very encouraging seeing that video. That's a great opening day. We've been talking about new baseball season gets into full swing this afternoon after the Yankees and Giants faced off on opening night.

13:07Will Reeves at Cityfield in Queens with a match will host the Pirates. Good morning to you, Will. Good morning, Robin, and a happy opening day. It is a sign of spring, the day on which Hope springs eternal opening day. Everybody thinks their team has a shot. Also this morning, Alton Venezuelan leader Nicholas Maduro is doing court at a New York court today. Maduro and his wife have been held in a Brooklyn jail since U.S. forces captured them in January. They have both pleaded not guilty to federal charges, including narco terrorism and drug trafficking.

18:09Yeah, that's been a long time. And yo, Adrian, take a look at this. The iconic rocky statue in Philly is on the move. It looks a little weird, but everything's fine. Crews carefully wrapped and hoisted the landmark broad sculpture from the base of the Philadelphia Museum of Art Steps on Wednesday. Rocky is headed into an indoor exhibit that opens to the public next month in case you couldn't get close enough, right? Also, it's a big day in college basketball. The big dance. Is that right? And we end in alleys here with the story. Good morning, Rihanna. Good morning to you, Michael. The details of this alleged attack are shocking. This week we have heard from the wife. Ariel Coneg.

19:09She says she fought her husband off and he told her no one is coming to save you. But two hikers heard her screams and they did come to help. And now we're seeing police body camera footage showing the aftermath. This morning, dramatic testimony in the trial of the Hawaii doctor accused of trying to kill his wife on a hike in a Wahoo. Body camera footage played in court showing the moment a bloodied Ariel Coneg made her way down that trail with the help of two bystanders who called 911. So what's currently being attacked on the top of Polly Kuga? Where there's a man trying to kill her? Prosecutors say Dr. Gerhard Coneg, a Maui anesthesiologist, attempted to kill Ariel on her birthday after finding out about an alleged emotional affair with her coworker. First trying to push her off a cliff, then trying to inject her with a syringe before bashing a rock into her head multiple times. The footage showing a nurse helping to wrap Ariel's head

20:15as the officer gets information about her husband. The responding officer who first made contact with Ariel taking the stand. Do you know what her voice was normally like? Despite that, did you make any observations regarding her voice as you spoke to her that day? It sounded weak and she took a lot of pauses out of breath. On Tuesday, Ariel took the stand, describing the moment she says her husband attacked her. He grabbed me really forcefully by my upper arms and he said, I'm so sick of this. Get back over there and he starts pushing me back towards the cliff. Dr. Coneg's defense claiming Ariel attacked first and that he only hit her with a rock in self-defense. He was a Honolulu police officer testifying that he apprehended Dr. Coneg

21:16after a brief chase. So I pulled up and I said, hey, police stop. Let me see your hands. So I reached out and I grabbed his right arm to try. And I'm still yelling, police stop, police stop. So you just have to pull on and continue running away from me to get away from me. We're in this like grassy, like muddy area so we both. I lose my balance and he loses balance. We both fought on and I fought on top of him. Now the defense says Gerhard didn't know the officers were police because they were in plain clothes. So that's why he ran. He has charged with attempted murder and bases life in prison if he's convicted. A lot of eyeballs on this case. A lot of details. Appreciate it very much. Now, Tugger is their service dog in training. He's working to become a specialized service dog who deals with veterans, well, actually, that there's all kinds of issues, actually. I was diagnosed with PTSD about six years ago. My therapist suggested a service dog might be helpful. And so a friend of mine suggested Warrior Canine connection. And thousands of TSA officers calling out day after day. Those TSA agents are going to hundreds more airports. Or excuse me, hundreds more agents are going to more airports across the country.

31:34And President Trump is now warning he may have to deploy the National Guard to help out. So this government shut down now hitting day 41 amid the spring break, travel, crush. Nationwide more than 11% of all TSA officers calling out Tuesday. With nearly 40% not showing up to major airports in New York, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Houston. At George Bush Intercontinental Airport, officials are warning of lines lasting up to four hours today. The acting TSA chiefs saying travelers are now experiencing the longest wait times in history. About 50,000 TSA officers now going nearly a month without pay. For some, this is their second government shutdown since October. And now they're working alongside those ICE agents who are still getting paid. Meantime in Washington, the stalemate continues. Still no deal to end this partial government shutdown. And the Senate is scheduled to begin a two week recess starting tomorrow. Robin. It doesn't sit well with a lot of people, as you know it. Thank you. Also this morning, the woman accused of shooting into Rihanna's Los Angeles home has pleaded not guilty to attempt at murder and other charges.

32:37Hannah Patah joins us with the latest there. Morning, Hannah. Good morning, Robin. Police say Ivana Ortiz used an assault style rifle to fire into the property while Rihanna or family and staff were home earlier this month. Thankfully, no one was injured. Roskators described the shooting as calculated, but investigators are still looking into a motive. Roskator said in court yesterday that when Ortiz was found in her car, she had a gun and munition and a disguise. They're trying to determine whether Ortiz knew if the singer lived at the home. Law enforcement sources tell ABC News they are looking into all aspects of Ortiz's life, including her social media presence to find answers. According to police, Ortiz had posted multiple videos on social media in recent months rambling about Rihanna. Ortiz has a criminal record in Florida showing a domestic violence arrest dating back to 2023. Ortiz faces 14 counts in total. She's being held in jail on a nearly $2 million bail and is scheduled back in court in two weeks, Robin.

33:37All right, Hannah. Our thanks to you. It's the biggest day of the year. We've been telling you for baseball fans opening day, Ike is live in Philadelphia with all the diamond details. Say they're right. Hey, good morning, Robin. It is opening day across the MLB 22 teams, 11 games and fans from coast to coast waiting to hear that first crack at the bat. Now here in Philadelphia, the Phillies are taking on the Texas Rangers and they're going to be supported by some of the best fans in the country. There we go. Essentially, players can now challenge a pitch in real time and a quick replay shows whether the call stands or changes all thanks to tracking tech that's making its regular season debut. And it'll give you encouragement and tell you what you're pacing or distances. This is your second run this week. You're crushing it. And then it does a post workout summary. This is built into the Apple Fitness app on your watch. And it's free. For Google folks, their AI is the new Fitbit personal health coach. It's a feature in the premium subscription. You talk to it like a human. I'd like you to build a high impact interval training workout for me that takes about 30 minutes. I have kettlebells, weights, and resistance bands. Now, this is cool. It's got videos showing me how to do each exercise. Very helpful. Oh, that's fun. Finally, Peloton has one of the most interesting forms of AI in its new plus products.

39:47This high-deaf camera tracks all of my movements through the workout. They call it Peloton IQ. It counts my reps. And if it thinks my squats aren't deep enough. Aw, man. You didn't give me credit for that rep. I got to go deeper. Just seeing yourself mirrored next to the instructor is so helpful. He's arched and I can see myself. I'm all bowed over like this. I got to match him. Ah. Better. This use of AI feels like a big step forward in home workouts. And these tools may not be perfect. But if something like AI can give you a fairly well-structured strength training routine, generally show you how to do those exercises, help you make some corrections. They can do it from the comfort of their homes. They don't have to worry about feeling awkward out in public. That's a huge benefit to these AI type trainers. Now, just like with a personal trainer, if there's something in your workout that's maybe causing you pain,

40:48you can talk to the AI trainer. I told it, hey, you know, all the jumping in that high-impact workout really kind of bugging my knees. And it remade the regimen for the exercise and added more weights and took out the jumping. And it made my rest interval shorter. So maybe I'm a little bit annoyed with my AI trainer as much as I like him. That's what I'm trying to do. That's one way of looking at it. For you to trick of a human trainer, you just try to make a conversation. That way stretches out for time. And it's not going to work. It's not going to work. I've learned me one more time. I'm going to demonstrate for one second, but you get the idea. And it all starts with a swat to sign up to save a life as a worried and anxious dad. You can imagine that I'm going to be counting down until we get to five years. And hopefully he's in that 95% if we can find that perfect match of kids that make it and survive. I'm telling you, Juan's message is really, it's really struck a chord with a lot of people. And he has set a goal for this campaign. He began for his son. He wants to get more than 1 million people. 1 million people signed up the registry. You know why? Because he says those of the type of odds the sudden Max is up against.

56:08And you can scan the QR code on screen to learn more about being a donor if you are between the ages of 18 and 35 or if you just want to help spread the word. And you know that I was so blessed that my sister somehow was a match because they had already gone on the registry. And there was not a match for me. So had it not been for Sally Ann being a match. And that only happens about 30% of the time that a family member is. And his twin sister. So he particularly needs someone with a mix latino and cuckoo. 57:13And we have an exclusive sneak peek. Elizabeth Schuelsy is there. Hey, Elizabeth, you're looking good in the hard hat. Hey, Ginger, I am very excited to give you this exclusive sneak peek. It's still a pretty active construction site here, which is why we have all this gear on. This has been under construction now for almost four years, Ginger. So I know it's still under construction, but you have a little preview of the exhibit. Yeah, we do. So we're going to walk in now. First time people are seeing this obviously not open to the public, but what we are showing you is the new pavilion here. The first thing you notice when you walk in here, Ginger, is the scale of this project. This is huge. Been under the works for almost four years. Almost 100,000 square feet. The other thing that we want to point out is all of this ash wood that you see all throughout the pavilion and really all throughout the museum. So what this is, this is ash wood from a family farm in New England. And what was happening was their ash trees were actually hit with a beetle infestation. They had to cut down a bunch of their trees to prevent that infestation from spreading.

58:15So what you see here are individual pieces of wood from those ash trees. And what the museum decided to do is to use those wood, use trees from those trees that were already cut down instead of cutting down new trees for the museum, which is really Ginger, a testament to the focus on sustainability here. Absolutely. Using fallen trees is always a preferred. So also, I know that the vision here is to take those iconic visuals we know of national geographic and make them accessible for everyone. How are they going to do that? Exactly. And so look, this is the in focus exhibit. This is something that we have never seen. What this is is kind of the first time we're getting a look at some of the most iconic photographs from national geographic. So Ginger, right here, we have this black and white photograph from 1893. Actually, the first outdoor wildlife photo from night, it is from your home state of Michigan. So pretty cool to see this here on display. We also have one that really stood out to our team. This is a photo of a walrus. And it's kind of hard to believe that some of these photographs are actual photos instead of paintings.

59:18What you see here, Ginger, is this walrus that is looking through a door. What you don't see in this photo is that there were actually 100,000 other walrus surrounding this person as she was taking this. This was from Russia in 2019. And the photographer was actually stuck inside this hut for multiple days as she was trying to get this photo. So very terrifying, but worth it. This, as you say, though, a big focus on making these photos accessible, even if you can't see them. So that walrus photo is also available here in this exhibit. And basically what is a tactile version. So you can see you're basically touching the photograph as if you were looking at it. It has all these different parts. And there's little sensors that actually tell you what you're seeing at. That's in multiple languages too. All throughout the exhibit, there's also Braille. So really trying to make it so that even if you can't see these photos, you can experience them. Ginger, one thing the museum has been telling us is that they want this to be a place that is as inviting and welcoming as it is inspiring.

But you know, you said Julian, you said that you like it that people have to wait each week to watch an episode. Yeah. Because we used to just get everything out the way at one time. I think it's nice to have to wait for something. There's so much instant gratification these days that it's like, make us wait. Because then people start thinking about it. People have theories. People want to talk about it. Whereas if the whole thing is answered for you, like, I mean, the story's over. It's done. You don't have to talk about it as much. And the king of thrilling storytelling, who goes by the name of Stephen King, he paid them high compliments to the show. He called it rare and sharp.

And I was like, how can I hate this? How can I hate this woman? I'll be honest with you. I expected Sinatra too, I think. Well, honestly. She's not so scary. She's not so scary. She's not so scary.
