Enjoy the convenience of seven days a week banking and extended hours with cube from first Arkansas bank interest. Remember FDIC. It's brought to you by the electric cooperatives of Arkansas, Roller-Fuel Homes, Midtown Plumbing, DK Fuel and Energy. You're in the zone. Arkansas's longest running mid-day sports talk show coming to you live from the Oakland Racing Casino Resorts studio. The
The red white report is brought to you by the the second ever game in the w best tattoo by 47 minutes and couple of years. At morning. We heard from a linebacker Ben Bogl and
cornerback Joker Johnson. They met with the media to discuss their preparation for Utah's 2 QB RPO system. Bogl, who comes from the University of West Virginia to Arkansas, is one of two hogs that have experienced last year against this Utah offense. It did not go very well for the mountaineers in that game. They lost 48 to 14. Bogl had one tackle half of them for a loss here. He describes the UTS offensive attack. You know, they like to get a lot of pressure. They do a lot of trickery stuff, you know, a lot of counter, a lot of power read, stuff like that. I just, uh, we have to make them one dimensional. Uh, we struggled with that last year. We didn't and so I'm looking forward to kind of a revenge game almost if you will and just getting after them, making them one dimensional. Bogl last week led the raise backs with four tackles. Safety Christian Harrison last year playing for Cincinnati had 10 tackles and an interception against the UTS, but Utah dominated that game as well. 45 to 14. Later on yesterday evening heard right here on 1 3 7. The buzz during the Ryan Silverfield show. The hogshead
coach spoke of the defense displaying depth, especially at linebacker. We only played 48 countable plays on defense in this past game and that's, I mean, that's one of the lowest on history, which is a good thing. That means you're getting off the ball. That's ultimately what you want to do. But most of our guys, I think the most plays any one of our guys played actually on defense was 27. That means there's a healthy rotation. We had some guys that were listed as third string on the depth chart that actually got meaningful reps in that game. I mean, you we had Bradley show up here last week and you you've probably talked about the depth of the lineback position. Then you look out there and they got like been bogal who we've never talked about is out there making play after play after play. And I think he got over 20 reps in the game. So we feel like we got four or five linebackers who can play and that's good because you know, it is we play a two linebacker system with that third safety. So the more of those guys getting mixed better. Jaden Platte also spoke post practice. The second year tight end was targeted only once last week. It was for a 10 yard touchdown and he spoke on a different focus this week in practice. Just focus in general like in
practice and energy. You know, we we noticed that our practice it was good last week, but in this lead good is is not enough. And so we're really emphasizing, you know, run into the ball. The effort where needed to be because what we put on display, you know, it wasn't where it wasn't near our standard. So this week we really focused on being who we are because we know who we are. KJ of course, through for three touchdowns. Two of them went to tight ends. The other caught by Memphis transfer Matt meat ad cock who has four career touchdowns on 13 receptions. A note from Major League Baseball former raise back. Hagen Smith is tonight's announced starting pitcher for the Chicago White Sox in their series finale against the pirates. This will be Hagen's 11th appearance in the majors with the White Sox, but his first start. He made 37 starts in the minor leagues, including 14 this year in AAA Charlotte with the White Sox, they see your Smith is three and one 0.56 ERA and batters are five for 56 against him. This is going to be more of an open for Smith, but an open
a start six and one half does and the other couple of other notes Arkansas volleyball beat Syracuse three to one on the road and SEC soccer is under way tonight. Number 19 Texas playing Arkansas at Razorback field. All right. I think we have when Grobe standing by. So let's go to our segment with the former Razorback star quarterback. Some people say I'm a little close to being cocky, but I think you have to have a little bit of that, you know, give respect to your teammates and keep team moving. He's one of the best Razorback quarterbacks ever. When Grobe brings his team up to the line of streamage and now he's on the broadcast and in the zone. And Grobe is still rolling still looking. When Grobe in the zone is brought to you by Chris Crane Hyundai of Conway located on museum road. Visit Chris Crane Hyundai.com Chris Crane Hyundai Arkansas's number one Hyundai dealer. Hello, Mr. Grobe. How are we doing? Gentlemen, how are you? I don't know about gentlemen, but Phil and I are fine. Thank you for asking. I quit. Okay. All right.
Hey, what's up? Phil? How are you? Philip. I told you. Yeah. He's the only one. Yes. You got to use his middle name too. I mean, you got to really like get him in the house. He did something bad. Get right in the sauce right now. All right. So week one, it has been a lot of negative energy from the fan base. A lot of oh my God. Here we go again. There were some things that looked eerily similar to last year and there were some things that were a little bit different, especially on the defensive side. So give me a total evaluation from your perspective and how much of the things that weren't great. Do you think it be cleaned up for this week? Well, let's just start with the defense. I thought the defense was really, really good. And the defense was so good to the point that like the offense struggled, but you never felt like the game was ever in jeopardy simply because the way the defense was playing. And so I love that aspect of it. I mean, when you hold a team like that with a a duel threat quarterback who can run it, who can throw it, destined way to be able to hold that that
offense really down with a speedster on the outside like a Johnson. I mean, so I thought the defense was really, really good. What they did, stopping to run only given up 40 yards, 153 yards, total offense, and then being able to come in and get off the field. Like I was so happy. I was so happy that first possession where we had a three and out. We hadn't seen three and outs in a long time around around here. And then to be able to force them to pump the football nine times, that shows that the defense is moving in the right direction. And I thought that simply because of all the players that coach some of the players that are in the field and coach Roberts brought in defensively. And the number of snaps that they played in different institutions. I felt like this team with Ron Roberts, if you can put them in the right spot, they can communicate at a high level. Then they're going to have an opportunity to be really, really good. And they and they were really good. And I'm not saying that just because you played a bunch of snaps that you're going to have success when you get to a
particular location. Because I mean, you know, you can have four of playing and have a lot of bad snaps. So I just think that this defense is in the right spot. I think the depth is in the right spot. And I think the defense, I hope, is ready to travel because you're going to need that defense to really step up. But offensively yeah, there's a lot of things that you got to take a look at. And I know a lot of people, I mean, are posing this doom and gloom thing but when I look at this offense I understand that we were not as effective as we probably wanted to be running the football. I mean, when you talk about only averaging three yards of carry and 148 yards on 49 attempts, I mean, that's not really where you want to be, especially against a team like North Alabama. So they were able to win that battle from a running game standpoint, but that's the one thing we've got to be able to figure out. This is a spread powered type offense. You've got to be able to run the football because the passing game is going to have to be something that's going to
to really help you find passing lanes and all those types of things. So the other thing is you got to you got to understand that Arkansas's longest passing play was 21 yards. I mean, so you got to find a way to get some chunk plays involved with that. But I know a lot of people have talked about KJ Jackson. And it's it's crazy to me now. I think the thing that everybody's looking at is the three turnovers. They're looking at the two fumbles, the fumble by KJ they're looking at the interception by KJ. But if you look at him, a first half he struggled just a little bit. There's no doubt about it. Second half he was very good in regards to making sure that it's completion percent 12 to 13. It was very good there. The third down, third down conversion percent was very good. And so I just think that there are certain things you got to clean up. And when you go to a school like you taught that it's very, very good, you can't turn it over. You can have all those penalties. You can do those types of things that you did offensively. And then defensively you got to find a way to make sure
you come up with some nice plays. But at the end of the day, you want to know, but I did not see us take care of the football the way we needed to. We had penalties. And so those are the things that you want to see be able to translate to to Utah because if you do those things, you give yourself an opportunity. I wondered and it's tough to get in, you know, to a player's mind, but you would know the feeling of going into the season, being the anointed starting quarterback. And I just wondered if there's just a different pressure that KJ is feeling and maybe that was on display for forcing a couple of passes. Because I don't remember seeing that when he came off the bench last year against Mizzou against Texas. It's different when you're coming off the bench or the season's script is already written when you're playing Missouri to when you are the anointed QB1 and it's now your team. And I wondered if you might have felt you watched that too. Yes, I mean, I think you're completely right with that because I know I said at time and time again when you're in a
a situation where you're battling to try to be the Arkansas quarterback. One, you got to fight through that battle first and foremost with AJ Hill. Now you're the anointed starter and now you're a team captain. And so now what does that mean? Everybody's looking at you and it goes from a great exposure to radiation. You know, it's like everybody is all over you and when you're the quarterback, it's a different thing. That's why I tell people you don't really understand what it means to be the quarterback at the University of Arkansas because everything you do is scrutinize. I mean, from the time you leave the building to going into the building, to walking through Walmart, you didn't say hello to somebody or whatever it is, everything is heightened. And so everybody's looking for reason to love you and everybody's looking for a reason to hate you. And so you really got to understand that being the quarterback at the University of Arkansas is a is a big big deal. And so I think KJ gets that. And so now he's fought through that first battle and now it's going to be a different component.
I love the fact that he talked about with Coach Superfield that look, I understand what I did wrong. Those are the things that you that that you want your quarterback to come and say, look, you made the right decision. I'm going to tell you I'm being accountable to the decisions I made. That that intersection he threw at the half, you can't do that. I mean, you got to find a way to get points whether it's three or whatever. You can't do that. He understands that. And so he clear he clean things up in the second half. I think that second half performance from KJ is going to be what you're going to see just a little bit more as you continue to move forward than the person who had the turnovers and put put Arkansas and harms way. I don't mean to keep harping on the negative. As we talked to Quinn Grover here, but we just going to ask about some things, get your thoughts on it. So again, if you're just tuning in, Quinn is joining us in the Jim's race back pizza hotline brought to you by Chris Cran Hyundai about the run game specifically Quinn. And that's what's cool about football. It's the ultimate team game. So how much do you put on the old line? How much on the running backs in the way that they read? How much on the play calling with extra hats
in the box and maybe, you know, not changing out of it? And how much, you know, maybe we give a little credit to North Alabama's defense. They've had a couple of really good performances against the run here. Two for two. No, I think that's where you got to start. I think you got to start with what North Alabama did and you know, there were a couple of times where they showed that to high safety look where you're thinking they're in base defense. And you should be able to run the football. I mean, you run the football 49 times. I mean, you're just trying to figure out how to to move the football down the field. And you were not able to do that three yards per carry against North Alabama's night really where you want to be. But they did some they did some nonconventional things in regards to what they did with their fronts to really try to create confusion. Arkansas's got to find a way to run the football. I mean, Braille and Russell 17 carry for 49 yards. The only average 2.9 yards per carry and then sudden Smith 15 carries for 36 yards. You feel like you should be able to line up regardless of what North Alabama is doing and run that football. But I think the biggest thing is finding a way
to create chunk plays now when North Alabama. It was running that too high safety. They even had their corners playing off just a little bit. And I understand as a former quarterback that if you walk to the line of scrimmage and I don't care if it's a too high shell or one high shell. But if you see those cornerbacks playing off and you got an opportunity just throw that quick hitch out there. I mean, you want to do it because it's easy and that's they ran that route time and time again. Hitch route, stop route, hitch route, stop route because that's what they were giving them. And so they were backing off, but that means you should be able to run the football. So the offensive line is got to find a way to come together and understand that aspect of it. But I'm not going to put it on the offensive line. I'm not going to put it on the running base. I'm just going to put it on. I'm going to give North Alabama a little bit credit for what they did, which may not bow well for us in regards to thinking about running the football effectively against power power four teams. But I just think that that's where you've got to start it. You got to get it cleaned up.
And this offensive line averages over 328 pounds on this offensive line. They should be able to get that gone. And if they don't be able to get if they're not able to get that going, then they got to find a way to move their chess piece sudden spits around, utilize him in the screen game, the flaring game, utilize that run game as a part of what they're or the short passing game as a part of what they do in the run game. And so I just think between between that and moving you running backs around it and also finding a way to get chunk plays will allow you to have a little bit more success. All right, Quinn, give me your take on Utah and what Arkansas is facing this week. Yeah, it's a tough one. There's no doubt about it. I mean, what they did last week versus Idaho, I mean, their offense was very good. They're going to run the football at high clip. I mean, they're running back Parker is solid. And so being able to find a way to stop that run game is going to be critical. And then you got to deal with Dan for your here's a guy that can pull the football down and he's stick.
Now don't don't get a twist. Now this guy's stick. He'll run through you. He'll run over you. And so he's a guy that can extend play. So I think that those are the two biggest components in regards to what Arkansas is going to be dealing with that run game. The passing game will solid. They can hurt you in the past game. But I just think that if you find a way to slow down that run game just a little bit, you're going to be in a better spot. But you know, you got to find a way to eliminate chunk plays and quick plays for this for this Utah offense. That's what they really want to do to you. They want to run the football, but they want chunk plays in the run game. And then they also want chunk games and a chunk plays in the past game. So I think that's one of the biggest things that Arkansas has to really focus in on. But but offensively to me, I think that that is the thing. If the offense can come along, that's going to give you an opportunity to be in this football game. And so there's a couple of things that I think you got it. You got to see happen. I think you got Arkansas has got to find a way to get that four yard play.
And so you only average three yards per carry. But you got to find a way to get that four yard play. That's going to allow you to get in second and sixth. Second and three, you know, second and four, those types of situations, you don't need to be in second and eight and second and nine because Utah has been good over the last few years and getting teams off the field and third down. And they're very good last week versus Idaho. So you got to find a win that battle. And then you just got if you can not turn the ball over and putt. I mean, I think this defense is ready to go and really help you out in the big way. So those are those are some of the most critical things that this Arkansas offense has to do. But they've got to find a way to get chunk plays. If you're going to unlock that run game the way you need it to be a lot doesn't this to you Quinn feel like one of those games where the defense could play a really good game. I mean, do a really nice job. It's still give up 27. There's going to be a lot of pressure on the on the on the on on Tim Cramsey's offense in this game. I think. Yeah, no, I think you're right about that.
I mean, you know, 28 points and now days is probably really good defense. I mean, way offences. Offences are going right now. And so it used to be if you you score 20 points or 21 points, your defense should be able to help you out. I think things have changed over over over the last couple of years and 28 points. You know, I'd be happy with that aspect of it because your offense has got to find a way to and I don't think that that is too far fetched for your offense to reach. And so if we were talking about this offense from last year, 28 points would be something. If we had them with 20 points, we don't want a lot of games. And so we just got to get the offense moving in the right direction. I think that that is the biggest thing. There is so much you can learn, you know, from especially for KJ when you switch new offenses, when you switch offenses, and then you go into a game like this, there are so many things that you can do that's going to allow you to get just a little bit better that following week. He's got to get better that following week. That's going to allow him to make sure he sees things clearly
he understands protections and that he's sliding things the right way that's going to allow Arkansas to win a football game and not lose a football game simply because of the decisions that he's making. All right, we will leave it there. What's your schedule as far as travel? So we we fly out tomorrow and I think we leave like at one o'clock or one 30 something like that and then we'll get to Salt Lake with the whole time change thing. And then we'll hunker down and then there's a couple of dinners we have that night with some donors and some people of the program and so that would be two dinners. Yeah, yeah, that's what exactly what I'm going to do right there. And so I got to make sure that I got that calorie content, you know, lined out right there. So I don't go over. So I'm like, I want to stay in a calorie deficit. Yeah, I want to stay in a calorie deficit. No breakfast. No calorie deficit. I do want to. No breakfast. No lunch to dinners. Baby, let's go. I like that. Yes, I love it. Hey, Quinn, last thing here, honestly, about football is is
elevation and time. How much of a factor and how do you how do you kind of act that if you're Ryan Silverfield? Man, that's a great question. And I don't know, you know, I've never played in an elevated environment. So I don't know what that does to you. I mean, the only the only thing I know is climbing the stairs of BYU and trying to get to the to the press box. I mean, that's really the only thing that I have as a reference. But I think it's just a mentality thing. I mean, you get out there and you go with it and you understand that in the offseason and, you know, you're strengthening conditioning coach. That's one of the things that he bakes into the program. We know we're going to be playing at an elevated area week two, which is one of the most important games puts a plan in place from a conditioning standpoint. And so you get out there and kind of feel what's going to happen with that. I know some teams go out there early. I don't know how much that helps you. But this is look when you get out there, I just just like I love Coach superfield's mindset. No excuses. Damn it.
Let's just go play the game and let's let's go try to win it. All right. Let's do that. I like all that. All right. Quinn. Thanks, man. Have a safe trip and we'll talk to you soon. All right. Let's take care. All right. Appreciate it. It's Quinn Grovy doing the thing. What is your plan? When are you heading up there? I'm leaving after we're done at Royal Windows tomorrow. Are you what's up? It's a flight. 445 flying through Denver. So you're not traveling with the team. No, I never do not football. I didn't realize that. OK. But Quinn is to everybody else on the broadcast travels with the team except me. OK, which is fine by me because it takes a long time to get a football team moving and organizing in one place. Just in case you didn't think our guy was super special. Let let it be known that he travels alone. OK, he's a loner, Doddy. I want to come with me either. OK, no, I won't. But I'm saying nobody else either. But here's the thing. It just shows you how much they think of Phil. It's like, you know what? We don't mind writing a ticket for you to take a whole different ride when you can just jump on the team playing. It's like, you know, we'll jump through all the hoops because you're that important does.

The NFL season started last night the way it finished last season with the Seattle Seahawks beating the New England Patriots. Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold left with an injury early in the first quarter and was replaced by Drew Locke for the remainder of the game. And after a scoreless opening quarter, the Patriots scored the first touchdown of the season on a two yard pass from Drake May to Eli Raredin to take a seven-nothing lead into half time. Early in the second half, New Patriots wide receiver AJ Brown also left the game with injury and the teams exchanged field goals in the third before reigning offensive player of the year. Jackson Smith and Jigba took a short pass 45 yards to tie the game at 10. Seattle added a field goal with just under six minutes left in the game and Drake May
threw his third interception of the night in the end zone with seconds left on the clock, giving Seattle the victory 13 to 10. What are we doing? Let's go. We're going to say it's got a lot to get to. Dr. O'Malley standing by on the Jims raise back pizza hotline from you. A.M.S. talking sports injuries. If you have a question for the good doctor, by the way, we've done a terrible job of getting to our text from D3 auto sales and our life and feedback courtesy of our friends at Rainbow Restoration.
So you keep sending them my promise. We will get to it. We will get to it. I think we'll get to it. Anyway, Dr. O'Malley, welcome. How are you? I'm great, guys. On a scale of one to Donald's hip. How do you feel? Way better than Donald's hip. Okay. Yeah. What's he facing? I don't think it's just a bad bruise. So I don't. Do you see how far they wouldn't come back? I didn't see that on the report. Well, they didn't MRI today. So I don't know if they got a results back on that yet, but. Yeah, I think that's one of those. It's just going to be. Hit or miss on how long he's going to be out. I don't think there's going to be a fact that there's parties about bruise. Seeing the question of how long it can come back. That could be weeks, good. Or six weeks on the long end, probably. Fair. It's always high ankle season. I was going to say it's high ankle season, but it's always high ankle season. Apparently, AJ Brown, high ankle. So weeks.
Weeks, yeah, six, six normally. The more around there for high ankle. Yeah, this is all information for our fantasy football players. By the way, really, let's be real. Again, if you have a question for Dr. O'Malley, 501-661-1037, Phil had got some injuries with the world of baseball too. We'll have a lot more football ones. Unfortunately, I talk about going forward. But oh, there was also what's his face? The tight end hours from the Raiders. What happened to him? He got a knee. I think yesterday. Yeah, his knee scope, I think that's what I heard. He had a gizlioscope. Yeah, he had a, he had a meniscus surgery. It sound like they say how long. Yeah, so although they just cut it out, but he probably just had a meniscus to me. Where they just cut out the poor meniscus. So it's really a few games. So he's talking about this, but it's not going to be a three month recovery three to four months. It's like if you actually stitched a meniscus back. Can you have a children after a meniscus meniscus to me?
Or would you call them anectomy? Was that? Yes, nothing to do with having children. No problem. I'm telling children's doctor. I'm a tech comedian. Thank God. You made me wins. I'd be so relieved. Okay, good. Well, that, and that's not a, like that, that is a common surgery or not. They take all of it out. No, you just take the torn part out. They're like, I do. I bet I do two to three of them. But they are kind of operated. But just whatever part of the meniscus is torn, or the meniscus, and part of the business, did blood supplies different post-propagation. Like 40 and older, they're not good meniscus repair, which you'd be stitching it back. They did a meniscus to cut out the torn part. But for most people, it's like 20 to 30% of them in the meniscus. You cut out, you're not kind of a huge percentage without. It's not like it regenerates or anything, right? No, it doesn't. The best way to describe the meniscus is the shock of work, you know, when you have the torn meniscus, that meniscus is not functional anyways. So all you're doing is getting rid of the non-functional meniscus that's called in the pain. So you still have the rest of the functional, so you're not losing that huge percentage of it.
Can you stuff some flubber or something else in there? Is there anything that like, you put a cadaver meniscus in there, anything? I'm, is there any? Yeah. So you can do meniscus and transplants. They really don't do very well. That's actually a, I do that sort of do rarely, because I don't think the great option for most people. There's offloading procedures where we like cutting around these, I call off the otomies, but she's much better option for somebody who's been a sculpte efficient than putting that in. They tried like the gifts to replace meniscus. That didn't work. We tried a lot of different things. For most of these people, though, they're not really bad tears. They're not bad arthritis. They're just a small pair and they go cut it out. They're honestly, I've had people play golf three days after having them in a second. So the Dodgers have placed Chohe Otani on the injured list for two different injuries right now. And it's interesting how it works because it's a right biceps and a left knee. Maybe it's a right handed pitcher, so he's not going to throw. And he's a left handed hitter. So that says power leg. That's where his power is coming from. So it's basically hobbled him as a baseball player and he's no good while he's hurt.
And it's just interesting that these are two aspects that make him so special, but also make him injured at the same time. Yeah, it's really weird to have both of those occurring at the same time. So you wonder like, yeah, all or something like where it was from to have a biceps, you could see very often from pitching. But then the knee for us is just interesting to have both of these occurring at the same time. Yeah, and you wonder something like what the pitcher, you're right handed, you're landing on your left leg on your left foot, your knee too. And I just wonder if those two injuries can be related. Sometimes they are and sometimes they're not. Yeah, I don't know or is it like one of them by themselves, he's like, I can deal with one, but now you add both of these injuries. He's like, it's just both in the combined and not that he goes. We need to put him on that injured reserve list. And so that may be where he just goes, he's been having some biceps for us. And then it's me, he played up and with the combinations of two, they just want to shut him down. Jake says Justin asked doctor about patellar rebuild.
Hey doc, patellar rebuild. I saw. There's a lot of, so patellar rebuild would be something like, if you have cartels all sent to the patellar, where we can replace cartels, it's called like a Macy and ACI. You actually take the cartels, put it like under the knee cap to rebuild that. You could also have like a part of what's called a patellar femal replacement. We actually do a replacement for the research of the knee cap and the choke later, which is where the knee cap grinds on the thigh bone. Honestly, those don't do very well. I think those are, we try to avoid patellar femal replacement. They don't do very well. So in my opinion, most patients, when I'm rebuilding their patellar, I'm putting your cartels under their knee cap or in the groove. And then I'm offloading the pressure by doing what's called an osteotomy, where we offload the pressure on that knee cap to get them back on and do what they want to do. All right, we are talking to a doctor, Larry O'Malley from UAMS, orthopedics. We've got another baseball related question, Phil.
Yeah, there was Aaron Judge just got off the disabled list and he's been dealing, he missed 84 games with a rib stress fracture that originally was diagnosed as a bone bruise. And you think of a hitter and all the torque that you're putting through, you know, the core of your body there and the stress fracture in the rib, I guess, is just something that's not surprising. It's just that it was misdiagnosed initially. How often will that happen? So they're really calling the same thing, it's just semantics. So a bone bruise is technically a stress fracture. It's just a very mild version of the stress fracture. And so we will see, I saw that a day had the small bone bruise and there's shim and the fibria around the knee. I could call that a stress fracture, but normally when we're not planning to operate or don't really need to shut somebody down, we call it a bone bruise. When it's getting way worse, we'll call it a stress fracture because people know that we got to wait longer for that to recover. So really the same thing is just people
know the stress fracture takes longer to heal and can prolong. And it's not uncommon with the torque. We saw that. I think there are a lot of rollers, like rollers will get stress fractures just from growing from the not that they wrote. And baseball players can get it from the torque and swinging it back. So you see this, so it's not uncommon. It's just not as super common in a baseball player. Do you have an orthopedic cure for guys that throw bone-headed interceptions signed Patriots fans? Don't throw that in reception. Okay. Yeah, I mean, that was a bad hit and that day last night. All I had to do was kick at the time, go to good overtime. But yeah, that was not a good play. Mike Brabill's got just the cure, but I don't know if she's available. All right, Jared asks, one of my kids on my baseball team has a condition. He's 13 years old called OCD. It's not that one that's another one. It's called osteosomthin or other. He says he had a knee surgery last month.
How long will that take? Yeah, that's all different. So the good thing of 13, he's probably scalded in the chair and his first place is still open. And so an OCD is osteosom-wide as death of cancer, since you what it is, is a piece of bone and cartilage and it has not healed back at the post year or kind of broke off. But most of the time they don't break off and float around with this kind of break off and sit where they're supposed to be. See, in a couple of ways, you can treat that depending on how bad it is, you can put the spurs in it. You can essentially just drill and get it to stimulate healing of that piece. And the good thing about him being scalded in the chair is that his place still being open to the higher healing rate for surgery on that. And so normally that's a third or four months recovery to get back so the good thing for baseball player should be ready for the spring, but most of the fall is probably out with that in good doctorate. Okay, very good. Doc, I appreciate you. And if you need help from the good doctor or any of his folks over there, you've got all sorts of opportunities. 501-686-Tosh, 501-686-8674
and they can point you in the right direction, get you scheduled out. And we appreciate you very much, Doc. Take care. We'll talk to you soon. Sounds good. Thank you, guys. I appreciate it. That is. He's out. I'm not going to miss get the me to do. There was some, there were a few things there I need to get him to repeat. I know there are a couple of you're right. I asked coach Brown to give me a play call last night and it was very confusing to me, but I was like, is any of this strange to you? And he's like, no, it's very, very basic now. So same with Doc when he says, whatever the hello CD meant to be. Industry lingo. Yeah, not we're not cool like that. Most this is James. Did you find out of Justin has used his golf? James I'm going to reach out. I will reach out to you. Sorry. Thank you. I'm going to get to that. Nighthawk just learned that he may, he might have made a bad pick in his fantasy draft. Said Brock Bowers. I guess that's a second round pick. Nighthawk 40 year old knees for Brock Bowers. It's so funny that we go to that now.
Like this guy's career could be a jeopardy. And we're like, damn, my fantasy team. I did the same thing. I get it. Okay. No, I did the same thing. All right. Let me get rolling in here. Quick of them. We get the mayor of Little Rock. Frank Scott Jr. coming up after the break. What's up? Rollin. Rollin. Rollin. Oh, now the phones aren't working great. Just add it to the list. Rollin, rolling, rolling. Do not make a phone call. Okay. We'll be back in a second. There's nothing easy about playing razor back football. What's happening? Uh, a baseball question for the field. Shoot. On the 1968, Danny McLean on 31. Yes, he did. Yeah, 28 complete games. Imagine the American like, but not have 28 complete games together this year. So tell me what's going on for the complete games. And I'll hang out and listen. Well, pictures throw harder. They can't, they're not going to throw as many pitches in a game as they used to. And I guess there's some science behind that in some cases. Has a necessarily kept pictures healthy for very long. So that's the reason why you just don't, you just don't have pictures going is the distance anywhere. He's right to you won't have. There will be fewer complete games like in the previous 10 years than there would have been in 1968 total. It's just you're talking about a much different game. And look, they're just weren't as many pictures throwing 90 to 95 to 100 as they are now by a lot. Much different game.
Much different. They're not even playing baseball anymore. Well, they're playing baseball. It's 90 feet, you know, 60 feet, six inches and all of that stuff is just the, uh, everything else around it. I would like to have had stat cast in the 60s to see how fast everybody's running. Really how fast some of these fastballs were, um, but the pictures were playing a much different game. The swing and miss wasn't as much of this of the game as it is now. Five, oh, one six six, one, one, oh three, seven. If you'd like him from Zach on our D three, I'll sell his text line. I got Bauer as I picked up mayor his backup. I don't trust kiddo tonight. How can you say such a thing? How can you say such a thing? Got Dre Greenlaw back with the Niners now. He was, uh, was Broncos for a year, two years. Remember the last time he played for the Niners, Justin, it was, oops, I just tore my Achilles tendon running onto the field for the Super Bowl. You see, oops, oops, oops. It's mispronounced. Potato, potato, oops, oops. I made an oops. Yeah. Yeah.
I made a bar afterwards. Um, sad news out of the world of broadcasting and hockey, Barry Melrose who even for guys like me who don't give one damn about hockey really enjoyed him on television has passed away at the age of 70. He was the coach for the LA Kings when Gretzky played there too. Okay. And he was not, I mean, he was sick. The folks in ESPN loved him so much that even when he has been dropped hockey and basically didn't cover it, he still, he still was employed there. And on a much less important note, but pretty important. If you're, I don't know, Western Michigan, the big 10 announced yesterday from the, uh, oh, now you do it file that it's going to expand enhanced replay review insight to all conference game and home non conference matchups that are officiated by big 10 officials, not just Friday night games comes on the hills, of course, on the controversial Western Michigan Michigan final. Did you see through, I think it was the next night. Um, it might have been the Monday night game on ESPN.
It says official time being kept on the field. I guess that was because that was where you had the, it was in Florida state where you didn't know if you like, true, it's gonna be ruined every day. Right. Or if you had electricity, yeah, awkward luckily, didn't come down to that. Although it was a close game. Let's go to the gyms raised back pizza hotline mayor Frank Scott Jr. standing by for his biweekly appearance in the zone updated on the capital city goings on mayor Scott. What's the word? Hey, hey, hey, how you doing my friend? Well, all as well, uh, Phil and I are pretty excited about some of the things we're going to talk about. And it's been a long time coming. We knew about engine engine number nine, but now we know about station number nine. And apparently we are back up and running out in West Lederock. Is that accurate? It is. I'm so excited. Um, and as we all can recall and remember, uh, three years ago, March 31st, 2023, the city experience of high end EF three tornado, uh, they went through a strong pathway through West Lederock and part of that was it hit colony West as well as Walnut Valley and inside of
Walnut Valley neighborhood. It's station number nine for the Rock Fire Department. And so literally, you know, our first responders were first responders and survivors at the same moment because they called their way through debris and rubble to go help out their neighbors in the Walnut Valley neighborhood. Um, during that day and of course, um, that station was demolished. And so now three years later after going through the process of dealing with architects, the engineers and construction, uh, we've now, uh, three built station number nine, uh, and storage stood as a symbol for our city of how strong we are resilient during times of crises. And so it was just a great day to open it back up. So thank you so much. You're going to find this really hard to believe, but people have been talking a lot about the stadium lately. Um, you know, I'm not going to ask about the golf course every, every week you come on it. I get texts asking about the golf course. We're going to do about the golf course. I don't care about the golf course as much. I care about the stadium though. I do want to know what's going to happen there long term and they are finding ways to use it. Obviously, there's high school football in there.
We don't know if the razor backs were ever coming back to warm and moral, but we do know that it is being utilized occasionally for college football. UAPB has got a huge game over at, uh, in Memphis this weekend in Liberty Bowl, but they also open successfully here in the capital city. Yes, just for those who call you about, uh, warm or stadium one, uh, we are so grateful to have that stadium in our city. Uh, a lot of it is a state entity, the stadium we, we control and own the park. Uh, we work together, uh, all the time with the stadium commission committee. And so excited to have you at the kickoff, their natural, uh, uh, state classic last week and those fun times there. We really want the razor backs back. We understand, um, what goes on as it relates to SEC and IELD stays, but we still want to have that razor back, we gain back. And as it relates with the park, we have a master plan that we're working on right now to get, uh, more improvements there. It is a big deal that we're focused on. It's a huge priority. Uh, but like you said, we are working with and the stadium commission committee from the
state, one of the number of different of our other division one, uh, universities in division two to actively utilize the stadium for football as well as high school things of that nature. Uh, where are we at in the master plan as far as the downtown master plan that was released? Are we, when's our like, when's a river market project getting underway and all that is it already started? I missed it or what, what's happening? Yeah. So with the master plan, we, two main components of the master plan is the renovation of the down, of the downtown river market hall. Uh, we've contracted with new and found that's going to do the construction. And so we're set to begin construction at the end of this year. Uh, and so next year it'll be, uh, the construction will prevail during that year. It'll start at the end of this year and continue on to next year. And then, uh, we'll have a new improvement from market hall, close to $25 million for that. And of course, what we're doing with the downtown park, where we received $30 million from the Bayzoz Earth Fund and Jeff and Lauren Bayzoz. And so, uh, those are significant pieces to it.
There are other parts to it that we're working on as well. So we're glad to have the money available to renovate the river market hall as well as well as what we're going to do with the 30 crossing parking downtown. We'll drive. Speaking of the river market, there's a concert down there tonight. And there is also on Wednesdays, jazz in the park for the remainder of the month, which is always a favor. They do it a couple times a year. So, um, hoping to see a lot of residents down there. And that's probably a, you know, good, good opportunity to get some people downtown. Usually you have good crowds on the Wednesday nights, depending on how hot it is. Oh, yeah. It's an inexpensive day tonight. So, you know, Wednesday nights, uh, one of the inexpensive day nights was Wednesday nights spend at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. And now we have the jazz Wednesdays with Rodney Block. So, uh, just bring a lawn chair and cool down just a little bit. Hopefully it'll be a little bit more cooler moving forward now that some is coming to it and hopefully comes to it. And, uh, but sometimes on Wednesday nights in the river market, you don't even have to bring a chair. I mean, they got stacks of chairs down there too. So if you don't even have a lawn chair, you can, you can use one of the cities. So it's pretty cool deal. Mayor Scott, appreciate you. We'll talk to you in a couple of weeks.
Talk to you Phil. Thank you. Appreciate you. All right. 1156. If you want to join us, feel free. We're up against it. Next hour, we're going to talk to Cliff and Susan. Apparently we get a two for one with our, uh, one of our favorite musical acts, entertainment news, birthdays and such. And then we're also going to talk about the food truck festival. Kyle's coming in at 1230. So we're going to do that. And I feel like, oh, I also have a, if we have time, I have a bad boy segment, but I don't know if we're going to have time to get to it today. Got a blowout right now on the question of the day, Justin. Do you think an NFL game should, NFL should play divisional games internationally? No or yes, no 94%. Wow. Yes, 6%. Huh. Pretty good. I don't think it's bad for. I'm not going. I don't care. I mean, I guess it's not awesome to have that like 9 30 AM game always, but who care? I mean, it's, it's played tonight at 7 30. It doesn't matter to me where it's played. I love you, Mr. Moore sports. That is a complete opposite answer from what I would expect to you. No, the 9 30 games are in fact great.
Well, if you're awake on a Sunday at 9 30, yes, I don't, I don't always get up and Adam as hard as you. Nothing I can do about that. Man, I'm going to you up at 6 6 30 on a Sunday. I don't want to, but I will. And if there's a football game on, it's going to be on. And I'll watch it. Like as soon as I wake up, I'll watch it. So again, not complaining about that either. That's just the, I think that would be the only complaint for it. Yeah. Otherwise, I don't get what the complaint is. I got three words for you, buddy. Me, Mo, so, okay. All right. Let's get up and get after it. You know what? You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning with the 9 30 kickoff. Let's go. We have four better sales. I love to do. I love to do. I'm not D. Me. Yeah. I've kind of off those kind of gotten off. I'm off the mimosas. I'm sure. You show up at the same brunch. 100%. Yeah, better yet we have both. Mimosas put me to sleep. Champagne knocks me out. You are not alone in that. It doesn't bother me. I realize Tommy. I've got a very sensitive tummy. You can't do the shimp. You know why it's sensitive? Because you call it a tummy like your five. You know, the other day I had to get an antibiotic when they pulled my 2,000 dollars.
The bird take this for food. I was like, oh, you got a little boo boo in your mouth. I'll take two. I'll take two. Now I'm going to take this. And a bottle of water. I don't need no food. I'm a man. My little tummy so assassinated. I can't do it. It hurts my little tummy. It's only a tummy when it hurts. It's a stomach when you're digesting. The belly when it's being punished. I think it depends on you wake up in a crib or not. Whether it's a tummy or a belly or a good. You get to be a man, you get good. Let me 58. We back. I don't know what the hell we're doing.
