Rushdoony argues that state claims to control, license, or redefine the church mirror ancient Baalism and modern totalitarianism, demanding surrender disguised as neutrality or tolerance. Silence, he insists, is apostasy; resistance is covenant faithfulness. The issue before the church is unavoidable confess Christ as Lord over all of life or concede His crown to Caesar.
