With just two days left until the start of the 2026 NFL Draft, we're officially into the silly season and smoke screen window across the NFL landscape, especially the head of the first round. What better way to signal the start of silly season ahead of the draft than a report from NFL Network inside of Tom Pelicero, reporting Tuesday morning a good morning football, that it wouldn't be a shock to see a team trade up into the back end of the first round of draft. Miami quarterback Carson Beck. I'm sorry, Tom, but that would be absolutely shocking to all involved. Maybe even to Beck himself. Throughout much of the pre-draft process, guys like Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson have been talked about as first round quarterbacks. Beck was never in that discussion. Now, just days ahead of the draft, he finds his name attached to potential first round buzz. That feels a little bit like carrying water for an agent.

1:01Sure, Beck has had an impressive resume in college. He played in a ton of games at two power programs in Georgia and Miami. He led to hurricanes to the National Championship Game last season and played some good football down the stretch. But there are real concerns about his surgically repaired right elbow, and there are some character questions regarding his interactions with teammates off the field. He fits the prototypical build for the position and has some fans around the league. But a team trading into the back end of the first round that land him would be an all-time stunner. It's silly season after all, and I'll just say this. The Pittsburgh Steelers, a team heavily connected to Beck throughout the pre-draft process.
