Why do people gravitate toward self-help that reinforces the strategies they already use well? How can we identify the default lens through which we interpret nearly every situation? What changes when we recognize that our internal equilibrium may be less dependent on circumstances than we assume? Can personality systems be useful even when their categories are imperfect or partly invented? Does the Enneagram reveal genuine psychological structure, or merely offer memorable language for patterns we already recognize? What does it mean to see and act on degrees of freedom that other people overlook? How many apparent constraints are really social scripts that no one has tested? Why can one person’s decision to act instantly dissolve the bystander effect for everyone else? Is high agency genuinely associated with antisocial traits, or does selection bias merely make that correlation appear stronger? How can people violate norms from courage and care rather than narcissism or indifference? Which fears—failure, embarrassment, rejection, or identity loss—most sharply restrict our sense of possibility? Can low-stakes exposure to rejection teach us that asking is less dangerous than anticipation makes it feel? What ambitious requests might succeed simply because nobody else thought to make them? How does agency expand a life without reducing it to achievement, status, or relentless effort?
