The Egg That Wouldn’t Hatch

All the Easter eggs sparkled in the morning sun — blue ones, pink ones, glittering gold ones.
But near the old oak tree sat one plain white egg.

It didn’t shine. It didn’t shimmer. It didn’t even have a ribbon.

Other children rushed past it without a second glance.

But when Emily picked it up, she felt something unexpected.

The egg was warm.

And later that night, as moonlight filled her room, the egg began to crack — not to reveal candy or a toy, but something far more magical.
