It's weird to have a play in game or first round opening round, whatever we call it and make it a must win situation, but it feels like that for Miami, Ohio. It's like there was a lot of discourse about this team. How good they are. Should they be in and here they are, not very far from campus, less than an hour away from Miami and Oxford, Ohio playing in Dayton tonight against SMU. It does feel like you better win this game. You better win at least one game, 877 3DP show, Operator Titer, sitting by, you'll take your phone calls. Good morning. Here is the final out of last night with Venezuela beating the United States. One and two, the count two outs. Three, two, Venezuela, U.S. batting last of the ninth. Colensia set, the one to pitch. Swing in the mists. Venezuela wins the WBC. Nine players fall to their knees. They can't believe it. They've done it. They upset the U.S. Venezuela is the 2026 WBC champions.

5:11Yeah. It was great atmosphere there. That's what you want. And you're watching Team USA and I know it's probably a big blanket to throw over this. I don't know how much it meant to Team USA. Like this wasn't, you know, the United States against Canada and hockey. In that moment, it just felt like Venezuela it meant everything to them. And I don't know if you can make somebody care more. I mean, Aaron Judge, Bryce Harper, I'm sure they wanted to win. By the way, Aaron Judge getting roughed up on social media. I can't play big in the big games there, but, you know, it was just, it was a good jump start to the season. That's the way I viewed this. It's a good jump start and, you know, you could take inventory and know who some of these players are or maybe attach to their countries as we move on. So I thought it was a really good couple of weeks for baseball. Now we go into a little more spring training and then opening days around the corner.

6:12There's going to be talk John Smolts yesterday was saying, Hey, why don't we do this and have a final four at the All Star game and then have a championship? You have the All Star game and then you'll have Cooper's town with the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. I get it, but I would rather let my players play in spring training than in the middle of the season. They want to play in the All Star game. Okay. Normally you'll get guys who play maybe just a couple innings, but we're trying to, we're trying to make it bigger than I think what it can be and keep this in mind. The next WBC is in 2030. So there's no real all next year or the year after that. You got the Olympics coming up as well. So this momentum that we have to now let's do something different look 20 30. That's a long way away. Yeah. So it doesn't happen next year and then you're going to have the Olympics coming up and

7:12then I think it's 20 30 the next time we have the WBC. Yes, Marvin. Are we going to do the show from the next WBC? I don't know. I'm going to be retired. Reunion? No. No. Not for that. No. Not for that. We only got back together for that. For the WBC. Yeah. You know, wait, what's the event that could bring you back just for a one off? The WBC. It would kind of be awesome. Really? No, it wouldn't. Yeah. No, it wouldn't. Okay. No. But congratulations to Venezuela. Yeah. Yeah. But they did care. I mean, you had those guys sobbing. They're singing their country's anthem. They're getting their medals. Although you could tell where Kyle Schwarber, Mason Miller, I think they got their silver medal and they're like, no, we're not. It's like, you know, when they gave out teddy bears at the Olympics to Canada, I mean, you've got these tough guys there and they give you a teddy bear.

8:13I go, man, don't think we need to do teddy bears. Yes, Todd. At least in Wimbledon, you know, there's a trophy and there's a play to both of them are decent looking trophies. You want the, you know, you don't want the plate. You want the trophy. But, you know, either don't give anything out for second place or make it something a little more substantial. And you had these moments, Bryce Harbor had one of those moments last night where it's the two run homer to tie the game. But how many times have we seen these big moments get forgotten? Harper's moment will be forgotten. How about Germain, Germain Curse in the Super Bowl against the Patriots Super Bowl 49, that unbelievable catch, Julio Jones is catch against the Patriots Super Bowl 51. Raj Davis, the Indians, games seven home run against the Cubs in the World Series, kind of forgot about that as well. And then I mentioned Aaron Judge. So his struggles continue in big moments, 0 for 4 with three strikeouts last night. You go back to the 2024 World Series where he batted 222, 4 for 18, seven strikeouts in

9:16five games against the Dodgers. All taken, you know, if you don't want him, I'll take him. I'm pretty good, certainly in the regular season, but stepping up in the moment, Bryce Harper had his moment last night with the two run homer, but Schwarva didn't do anything. I think he had four strikeouts or just they like to say punchouts and then Aaron Judge as well. All right. Pull question for the first hour of the program, Seaton's going to be what? We've got a couple of options for you here. The World Baseball Classic should be, it should stay in the preseason or it should be part of the All Star break. Okay. Well, I already stated my piece on it. I don't want my players, All Star is an All Star break and the season is long and this is July and I'm fine with spring training. But once again, we're not going to be playing for four more years with this format.

10:17And I think that's why in everything that we have with this, it's going to dissipate. Then we're going to forget like, man, who won the last time? Oh, yeah, Venice, Venice, oh, that's right, but it's four more years. Like Japan vows out, you know, now we start the regular season, yeah, Seaton. But sometimes it's harder when you have something great on your hands, it's more difficult or the bigger problem is knowing what to do with it. You know, I mean, this clearly causes, gets, generates some excitement, gets some momentum for the game, which is, which is great. Now, it's like, damn, what the hell do we do with this? Yeah. You can't do anything. You could problem. You can talk about it, you know, Buster only the great writer with the mother ship. He talked about, he echoed what John Smoltz pointed out. But once again, this is four years down the road. I think people think this is an every year occurrence, and it's not going to be. And then you have this situation with Mason Miller, okay, you're not coming in unless it's

11:18a safe situation, you got to negotiate, you know, the, Venice, O'Wala had to negotiate with the Cubs, you know, when their closer came in, Mason Miller with the Padres, and then you're negotiating. Hey, he can only come in and a safe situation. How long are you going to be able to pitch, you know, and that changes. This is the game. So we got to kind of be all in on this, like, I love the four nations, but I love that because the United States and Canada, you know, that rivalry and you're dropping the gloves and you're fighting and it really meant something there. You can't tell hockey guys to go, it's a good easy, you know, hey, he's only going to play four shifts tonight, that ain't happening. It's going to be, hey, we're playing, we're winning. Yeah, Paulie. It was interesting last night, ninth inning, they need their best closer, Mason Miller, and Mark DeRosa goes with Whitlock, the reliever out of Boston, I think. And clearly, that's a second tier guy in compared to Mason Miller.

12:18Could you have gone the other way and said, I'm not coaching this team in four hours, I can't be fired for this. No, you can't do that. Yeah, you can't. What if you asked Mason Miller, you know, you can't, because you have an agreement with the Padres and I don't, you can't. Now, I think players in other countries, if they had the opportunity, like the closer for Venezuela, who's the Cubs closer, what is it, Plenty, Daniel, Plenty, okay, he's fun. I get the feeling if it wasn't a safe situation, if it was reversed and it was the Mason Miller situation, he probably would have said, hey, I'm coming in, because if you look at his teammates, look at how emotional they were, like this wasn't just a, hey, this will be fun. This was, oh my God, we got a chance to win. And I get the feeling he probably would have said, hey, I'll take the heat from the Cubs, I'm going to be in that game.

13:19Yeah, see, I feel like, you know, looking ahead four years from now, when you have Venezuela winning and Japan, United States and Dominican Republic underperforming, those are built in storylines heading into that next one that are really great. But you don't know how many players who played in this year's WBC will be there in 2030. Like you'd like to have that boy, he's going to get a chance at redemption or, you know, Aaron Judge, Kyle Schwarber probably won't be playing. Bryce Harper probably won't be playing in four years. But yeah, I mean, it's disappointing that you can't capitalize on this because you had a moment, it was fun, enthusiasm. And I love the spirit of these other countries. You know, we get caught up in, you know, play the game the right way and they, you know, they celebrate differently, bat flips, all of that, it meant more to them. The spirit of the game, the passion of the game was very, very evident, there's no room

14:24for that. Yeah. We're here. What is with this excitement? Play the game the right way, you know, just run the bases and sit back down. I used to be, I used to be what, oh, come on. And then you, I love passion. Now if you're down, you know, nine, one and you hit a home run and you do a bad flip, then you should be smacked. But I love the passion. Yes, Martin. It is. Wow. Why are you having fun playing a child's game? This is crazy, act like you've been there before. They haven't been here before. Yes, Martin. Also, I do love the legends that come back for their respective countries like your hands, Santana is the pitching coach who you saw Miguel Cabrera. You saw Andy Pettit. I was the Andy Pettit since, I mean, I won't say the last time I saw him, but I mean, yeah. It's been a while. Ken Griffey Jr. was there last night. Gary Sheffield was there last night. So it was a great TV production. So Albert Poole's, I know, did it make her a public?

15:27Paul, he goes, man, there's a guy in the dugout. It looks like Albert Poole's just like that. And I said, it's Albert Poole's. He goes, oh, I keep going. Is that, that guy looks like Albert Poole's. I took me seven minutes. All right. To be fair. All right. But yeah, it was fun to see it. But you know, trying to figure out what to do with this energy, I just think it's a great jump start for the sea. I think I'm excited for opening day. Yes, he, I really thought that was Bryce Harper's moment. Yep. I really did. I thought that whole house, like, gosh, that's his career right there. That is the exclamation point on his career. What a moment. Has he been in the major leagues for 15 years? Yeah. He started at 19. Isn't that amazing? Yep. He's going to year 15, 2012 at age 19. He was rookie of the year. I think he's got seven all-star appearances, two MVP's. And a bunch of average years that he also has an NLCS MVP. Okay. Four gone conclusion Hall of Fame right now.

16:31Two time MVP. Washington won a World Series after they traded him. Yes, Paulie. This is a two-part discussion. We used to discuss this with love and Bryce Harper was going to the Hall of Fame. You make seven eight all-star games. You have two MVP's. You're going. That you could also make the case that was his career, everything it was meant to be, or predicted to be. Those are two different topics. Well, he was the chosen one. He was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, just like LeBron when he was what, 15. Not exactly the LeBron of Major League Baseball, but, you know, a very good career. Yeah. Yeah. More. You didn't say that with much confidence. Yeah, that doesn't sound like Hall of Fame. Yeah. No, I don't think he's the first ball at Hall of Fame, but he's going to be a Hall of Famer. I think he's at times been a great player, but there are dips in his career.

17:36Yeah, Paulie. That's exactly right. He's had three great seasons. He's had about 10 good seasons. And some of those seasons, he hit, you know, 249 with 34 homers. There's nothing wrong with that, but not when you're expected to be one of the greats of the game. Yes, he had two MVP's, and they were six years apart. Yeah. That's pretty good. It's not like he had two really great seasons out of three or something. He showed a certain amount of sustained excellence. That's Hall of Fame. Yeah. Okay, but that's kind of what I'm saying. It's Hall of Fame. You put a Y on the edge. You know what it means. I'm just for the sake of the kind of say, I don't know that I'm a die hard first ball at Hall of Famer. I'm just saying that two MVP's six years apart, it feels Hall of Famish. Okay. Yes, John. If you don't match your exceed wild expectations, I don't think you get dinged to the point where you don't belong in Cooperstown. It's something you hell have to live with as a person, as an athlete that I could have been much better than was expected to me, but you still, you know, you still get into

18:38the hall, even if it takes a little while. Yeah. I get it. I'm going to put the expectations on him, you know, sports illustrated putting them on the cover. Yes, Todd. Do you think it would take a lot of lust off the WBC if they did it like the Ryder Cup and did it to every two years instead of every three or four years? Like we were saying, some of these guys may not even be on the team, but they'd be more likely, as far as with the storylines, if they were playing two years from now, as opposed to waiting for and just keep that momentum going a little bit and meet halfway. And why do we retire a Jersey, can we, can we honor a Jersey? Do we have to retire? You know, the Yankees have retired 22 numbers, including one through 10. Now I don't know if Matt Liner will unretire, you know, as he said, hey, I'm going to unretire

24:48my Jersey and get, well, you know what, Marvin play that and then we'll get to Nick right. So here is Matt Liner being asked to unretire his Jersey at USC. When I was at USC, I got my number retire, there's been multiple times where people at USC have asked me if I would unretire my Jersey for some five star prospect. And do you want to know what I told those guys straight up, absolutely fucking not. I am never going to unretire my Jersey for some random dude, who by the way, now could wear number 11 and transfer after a year, the only person that will ever wear my USC number 11 would be Cole, okay, Cole being his son. We apologize for that, that slipped by the goalie there, yes, Paul, which bothers you if anything. Matt Liner saying no or Matt Liner being asked a recruit saying, hey, I want that Jersey number. Yeah. As Liner said, hey, somebody may come in, they might be here for a year.

25:51I'm going to unretire my Jersey number. And if you win a Heisman at USC, I think you get your Jersey retired, but we can honor, like the Cowboys, don't they honor numbers? They don't retire them. Yes, Todd. But Matt and no one else in that situation should be asked directly and be put on the spot and I had absolutely no problem with him saying, no, it was, it was retired. That's the number. No one gets to where? Multiple times that he was asked, yes, he, yeah, you know, I don't know that I've ever really thought about the concept of retiring numbers is not being a good idea, but that, you know, a ring of honor is makes way more sense than retiring them. They're listening to just a chorus of bad takes and my mic's not on and I can't fix any of it. Like I don't know what they every take I heard there was was bad.

26:52The first of all, retiring jerseys is awesome and you're like all the Yankees, they've retired 22 numbers. Well, luckily we're not running out of numbers. Luckily we got plenty more to come. So we're fine. That's first of all, second of all, it's not the recruits fault for asking to recruit that wasn't born when Matt Liner was playing for USC. He doesn't know every school that's recruiting and the list of retired numbers. It is the school's fault for then asking Liner. Like you can't put it on it because I remember something I'm with Steve large and Seahawks number and they went and asked his family, no. If you make it should there should be gravity to retiring a number and then you can't then retroactive like didn't have one Lawrence Taylor and Abdul Carter. You can't then go ask the guy to unretire it. I had another take here, but I forgot it. There's just so many bad takes in there. Oh, I know I don't have a take, I have a very, very good way to hold on hold on. What Paul? Okay, Nick, let's say the New York Giants football team, they've retired 14 jerseys and

27:56a hundred years. Unless the earth ends in 400 years, they're going to run out of numbers at some point based on this pace. Right, I understand, which is why it is now the threshold to have your number retired only raises. It becomes much, much harder as it should. And so I'm fine with that. Also, you're anticipating Paul of 400 year future where we don't, where it's still there is a taboo on three digit jersey numbers. Who's to say that world doesn't exist? That's all of a sudden's number 154. There's nothing wrong with that. Can I tell you a quick Matt Linerd anecdote I'm going to two years ago, I'm at Yankee Stadium for the World Series, walking through the concourse. And I'm walking and I see someone who's a little taller than the crowd who I don't instantly recognize except and I'm walking by myself and I'm pretty secure in my masculinity and sexuality.

28:57But I'm just being honest with my friends, Dan Patrick and crew and I, in my brain, my inner monologue is that might be the most gorgeous person I've ever seen in my life. Just standing almost like a sending past the crowd. And then I'm like, wait, this person is walking towards me. Wait, this person is extending a hand and then I realize, oh, that's Matt Linerd who I've worked with. But I was just so disarmed by just seeing him in the wild and his natural beauty of this. Did you tell him that? I think I told him on the air the way I told you guys, maybe I didn't mention being comfortable with my sexuality part of it, I didn't want to make him uncomfortable. Well, you haven't been around Brady Quinn then, so you know, you know, not my type. Brady Quinn is CGI. Speaking of bad takes, you're Matt Linerd, okay. Um, did you want my college basketball top five?

29:58You got one? Yeah. Well, I feel like there are three must includes. Okay. We're going to do players you saw. Oh, no, I can't do it. Okay. I don't have that ready. Okay. Um, cream is my five, Lou Alcinder, Walton's my four. I'm going to play them both and I think they'll figure it out and pistols my two. There is a debate at point, Oscar, magic. I'm going to go Oscar and then there is not a whole, but the only hard position to fill is your three and you have a different ways you could go with it. I lean Larry Bird. I would listen to you on if you think I am being too much of, you know, a slave to the history and that the youngest guy on my team is Larry Bird. That does seem a little odd, I'm being honest.

30:59But I don't, I don't know that anyone else comes to mind and it is the greatest college basketball players of all time, unlike almost any other ranking are going to always be these old timers because nobody is going to play three or much less four years moving forward. So like you'd have to go to like a Doug McDermott type and he's not, he doesn't make my team with respect. Well, you could have Grant Hill in there over, so I thought about Grant Hill. I wanted to find a way for my guy, Jerry McNamara and his greatest biggest tournament ever to find at least at least somewhere beyond the roster. I did not have a, you know, Tim, the greatest college basketball players I've seen. I'm going to, Hansborough, Hansborough would be better remembered if he never played in the NBA. He was such a dominant college. Yeah, I mean, you've got to put Layton or in there over Tyler Hansborough.

32:00This is going to make you, I didn't see Layton or, well, you didn't see Oscar. No, but I was just saying guys that I've seen, I was doing a new list where I didn't guys that I've seen. Wait, you didn't see Layton or, I was born in 84, so technically I saw him, but I have no memory. Okay. Like the first college basketball team that I have vivid memories of is the AI Georgetown team. Oh, okay. So, you know, so like 96, 90, something, Tim Duncan to the greatest college basketball player that I, you know, that I watch start to finish. And I, Jerry McNamara, you know, is a really, of my lifetime, mellow have the best season. I'm a, I've Syracuse guy, but mellow had the best season. Durant probably was the most dominant. If you don't care about the winning portion of it in college, like the most dominant single season of, you know, this century, in my opinion, talking to Nick Wright.

Help me understand the logic of the Miami Dolphins here. Oh, you know, I actually support what they're doing. And I think that just taking your medicine and saying we're not going to do a half measure here, we made some very, very aggressive moves, thinking we were championship contender. We weren't. And rather than piecemealing it, we are ripping it down in a way, not, I mean, $300 million salary cap, $150 million in debt money. And by the way, still 45 million in debt money coming a year from now on to his deal, we're going to deal with that. Now, I think the reason people take issue with that is, well, then why sign Malik Willis?

34:02And my answer to that is Jeff Hathley has, you know, familiarity with him in order to evaluate any of, I assume they're going to draft a receiver, like young players on the roster, you need to have a level of competency at quarterback. And if they end up having the number one pick, but they think to spite that Malik shows them enough, then they can really supercharge the reload by flipping that number one pick. And if they, you know, if he plays well enough for them not to have the number one pick, then they sign the right guy. And if not, it's not like they signed them to a five year huge guarantee. So it, and even if they get the number one pick and draft a quarterback, you still might be like, okay, but Malik, you start next year. And then maybe he's a trade chip if he plays well. So I think what they're doing logically, if I was, if you said Nick, you're taking over the dolphins, I would have done a lot of the same things like let's take our medicine right now and then try to move forward, but they are going to be the worst team in the

35:05league by a lot, by a lot next year. Who's more all in the Broncos or the Rams? Oh, the Rams. I don't, I don't necessarily view the Broncos as all in. I think that they made a smart trade. I like the Waddle trade. He's only 27. He's on a reasonable contract like I usually don't like trading first round pick plus for aging player, but he's not really aging. He doesn't make a ton of money. The Rams are again, that's, there's, there's not a lot of franchisees that I think are, you know, run well and by well, I mean the way I would do it. But the Rams recognizing we, we have the oldest, excellent quarterback in the league. So let's, let's not treat 2029 as valuables, 2026. I think it's super smart. The Broncos saying our window is open, opening. So we don't want to go all in, but we also want to take advantage of the moment.

36:09And it's a very interesting thing with the disbursement of receivers across the league. I would argue right now this moment, there's more talented receivers than any other time in NFL history. But there's also two divisions that don't have any of them. The AFC West and the AFC East, where Jalen Waddle walks in and he's the best receiver in the division by a lot, DJ Moore, who I don't love, but walks into the AFC East and he's the best receiver in the division by a lot when neither one of those guys would be the fourth best receiver in the NFC North, so to speak. So they, you know, I think that was a smart move by Denver. More surprising that the Chiefs brought in Justin Fields or Travis Kelsey came back. I, I, right after the Super Bowl, I thought Travis was going to be done. As the off season went on, I then came to believe he's going to run it back another year.

37:11So I wasn't, by the time we got to the announcement, I wasn't surprised. I was surprised that there were folks, some friends of mine in the NFL media that were willing to be like, breaking news, Travis Kelsey, listening to other teams, no, he wasn't. Like I've never, like there, there was a zero percent chance he was going to play for anybody else. And I think everybody knew that. I really like the Fields edition because they, they gave up nothing. So he's price wise, very cheap for a backup, three million bucks. Gardner mentioned it was the Chiefs backup last year, it's got paid seven million. You can say, well, they traded the sixth, but because of the NFL's weird comp pick formula, had they signed a backup, they would have lost to seventh. So they ended up essentially getting in for nothing. And I wanted the Chiefs four years ago, Dan, to sign Cam Newton so we can run quarterback sneaks again and maybe have just make teams when they play the Chiefs, spend 10 minutes

38:17of practice that week, dealing with the Wildcat quarterback run package. And so now, Cam's still available, Nick. I know. And I pitched it to Cam, but you know, Cam's building his media and our empire. So I, if you're, if you were to tell me, Patrick is going to miss the first month of the season, which I do not think is going to happen. I would have rather had Kirk cousins as my backup quarterback. If you were to tell me Patrick's going to be there in week one, I would rather have Justin Fields because once Patrick is back and healthy, Kirk cousins serves no utility. I think fields can get on the field even once Patrick is back and healthy. Yeah. I agree. I like the signing. I've been a stubborn Justin Fields fan. I mean, he was in a bad situation. So I thought he played OK in Pittsburgh and maybe he does that, you know, reclamation on the 13 Sam Darnold like gets an opportunity to like Malik Willis did in Green Bay.

39:22For him, this is the either Kansas City or the Rams would be the two places I would want to go if I were him where it's like you don't, you know, I know he might have to play in the beginning for Kansas City, but get a year under that coach learning at that quarterback's feet and then see if you can recharge your career. And I don't know how much time we have. Can I ask you a favor? Yeah. Yeah. Because you are, you know, I am friendly with Charles Barkley, at least I was the last time I saw him. Maybe he's maybe not anymore. I would hope I am still. No reason not to be. You are legitimate friends with him. The next time you see him, can you, can you ask him, does he still like the NBA? I think it's a fair question and I want to be clear. I think Charles is the greatest in the history of the world at what he does.

40:22And I think a lot of people have failed trying to be Charles Barkley when you, there's only one Charles Barkley. And I'm not acting like we get this compliment a lot, but the greatest compliment that I ever receive about the TV show first things first is when people say it reminds me of inside the NBA, which again, I'm not saying we eat that compliment a lot, but whenever we get it, it means a lot to me. That's one of, if not the greatest sports TV show ever. But man, oh man, I wish they liked basketball still. That's just the problem. Well, the difference is you guys do research on first things first. Like you guys are still studying it. I think Charles and Chuck, I don't, I don't know if they really care, they're jaded with this. And now that we've allowed them to do it, it's not like Charles is over, that's like with Charles with March Madness. I'm like, don't put him on March Madness. But so here's the thing though, at least with March Madness, he's excited and intro, like

41:25what he's not going to do with March Madness is be like, why are we talking St. John's? We're not winning the championship, like Chuck's almost vendetta against the Lakers, which actually seems like his media criticism of how the media talks about the Lakers is to me misplace because if we want to say listen, Celtic's thunder spurs, everyone else can't win the championship, that's probably correct. Like that's, I think the vast majority of times one of those three teams wins the title. But after those three, the Lakers are looking eye to eye or looking down on every other team in the league. And so to then dismiss them, it's like, well, then we're dismissing Denver, we're dismissing the next, we're dismissing the pistons. And that to me is misplaced, given what they've done over the course of the year in my humble opinion. And again, I say it on the front end, really, I'm not really afraid of any enemies, but

42:27I do want to be friends with Charles Barkley one day. And so I just want to talk about how much I love and respect him, but I just don't like that. I'll see if I can broker a deal there. That would be great. Yeah, see if I think you mean Chuck one day could gamble together. I don't gamble. What if I, what if, what if I buy you in no, it's a gateway drug and I don't, I don't, I used to be. Yeah, but it, but it, but it your age, what are you worried, like, but I don't need the money. It's, it's, you know what, oddly, and I think Chuck would back me up on this sometimes it's not even not only is it not about needing the money. Sometimes it's not even about winning. Sometimes it's you need the loss. You need to feel a lot. No, no, no, no. You need to walk out of there and be like, oh, you know what? That's gonna hurt. I'm gonna trust your opinion. I, I don't need to find, I don't need to feel it. Let myself, what's the, what's the biggest loss you ever suffered? Like, where you go?

43:27That, well, I can, I can bring me to tears. Oh, this is a great March madness story. This is great because this is not, you know, as you get older and make more money, the dollar amounts, you know, shift, but the biggest loss as a percentage of my net worth was the 2008 NCAA tournament final, Kansas Memphis, right? This is a three and a half point favorite. I am fresh off being on who wants to be a millionaire and winning 50 grand and gambling all the time and like, and making eight dollars an hour doing radio. And I have a bookie in Kansas City that I gamble with that I convince him. I was like, listen, I, this is true story. I was like, I had a dream that Memphis won by three. And I don't want to bet Kansas plus three and a half. I want to bet Memphis minus two and a half because I want to root for Memphis, but they're

44:27going to win by three. And I was like, so set me a price. So I had to lay one for, I had to lay minus one 40. So I laid, I bet literally net worth, which, you know, I, I think it's 14 grand is what I had left of the 50 to win 10 biggest bet of my life by a mile. And Memphis is up three with a second left and Chalmers hits the shot. And then they admit that was the Derek Rosemiss free throws, Chalmers hits the shot, Kansas wins it over time. And I went from being the only person in the world who's going to bet Memphis in one time back at zero. That's what, that's what it was. But I felt alive, Dan. I remember that story 18 years later. Um, well, I tend to look at the totality of your career because you can have a couple of years where somebody is sensational, but you know, we were talking about Bryce Harper.

46:30He's had two MVP seasons, but then he's had, you know, some seasons that were not great numbers. You know, maybe B level C plus level B minus level, something like that. But yeah, I'm looking at the totality of somebody's career, um, Carrie and Minnesota. Hi, Carrie. Hey, good morning, Ganon Danets. Long time, first time, six feet and a firm 200. Hey, I really just wanted to say I really enjoyed your interview with John Schmolts yesterday. You know, I thought when he was playing, he was always a class guy and yesterday he had some interesting ideas on the all-star game slash week. And, uh, you know, when I see him on the lifelong twins fan and it always takes me back to the 91 World Series, you know, he pitched a great game into the bottom of the eighth and unfortunately for him, Jack Morris pitched a greater game and, you know, the twins winning in extra innings. 47:30No, no. I mean, if you go five, it feels like, boy, kept him in there a long time. Yeah. Those days are gone and you can't fight it. I mean, you can try. It doesn't matter. It's a workhorse is maybe going six innings. It's just, you know, that's, that's baseball, that's analytics. Back to the Matt Liner story that he doesn't want USC to unretire his jersey and I get some point, I don't know, like what constitutes retiring in Jersey? Like, what do you have to accomplish where you go, yep, we're going to retire that Jersey. Like, the New York Giants, Eli Manning, you're going to retire as Jersey. They've retired as Jersey. Okay. Like, I get it, Lawrence Taylor, but all right. So do you retire Phil Sims Jersey?

48:32They retired his Jersey, right? The Yankees have retired 22 numbers, every single number from one through 10. I understand what Liner's saying. Wait, you're retiring my Jersey. Now you want to unretire because some, you know, high school seniors coming in and wants number 11 because they wore 11 in college. No. Now, unless they say, hey, you know, we're going to miss out on this five star recruit if he wants to wear number 11 and I'm, I'm, I'm going to guess they're recruiting coordinators probably saying that, but to ask him according to Matt numerous times, like why numerous times? Why not just once? Yes, Todd. And you're not all in on playing for that school. If it's so much about the number, where's the passion of desire, desire? I want to be a USC Trojan.
