Tertiary Minerals MD: 'Really very impressive' grades as Mushima North deepens

Tertiary Minerals PLC (AIM:TYM, OTC:TTIRF, FRA:TMU) managing director Richard Belcher spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the latest drilling results from Mushima North and plans to deliver a maiden mineral resource estimate by year-end. Belcher said drilling has extended mineralisation beyond the depth of the existing exploration target at Target A1, currently 15-30 million tonnes grading 40-60g/t silver equivalent, with the latest results offering scope to add further ounces. The deeper drilling also raises the possibility of oxide mineralisation transitioning into sulphide at depth, though this remains untested. Tertiary has also encountered higher-grade silver-copper zones at Target A1, with the company weighing whether these represent a structure or feeder zone extending from depth as geological modelling continues. "Silver equivalent grades over 100g a tonne. Really very impressive," Belcher said. Further assays are expected over coming weeks as lab processing continues, with Tertiary remaining on track for its maiden resource estimate by year-end and metallurgical test work also under way. Beyond the resource estimate, the company plans to investigate the depth extent of the Discovery Zone, follow up the new Western Zone discovery, and drill test wider targets around Target A1. Tertiary is also evaluating Target A1's potential for a near-term open-pit mine, with feasibility studies and progress towards a mining licence identified as possible next steps.
