00Cut. Take two. Early show. How did it sound? Never made it to the office today. Markets getting fresh. Why? Who knows? A quick note about the one year income rule I've talked about before. Reading right a must read. What happened to that book, Steve? And new Mac books from Apple. Are they worth the upgrade? Folks Tuesday March 3rd, 2026. I'm Steven Syrosky. A long-term, long-time Canadian expat typically living overseas, but currently enjoying the balmy weather that Winnipeg Canada has been having today. It's actually kind of nice outside um melting some of the snow is melting. Of course this is some people were asking at the office like is some people who aren't always from Winnipeg were asking. Is this normal? Like it's
00finally the weather's changing. I'm like oh don't you don't get your hopes up. Winnipeg is one of those cities where it does this. It tricks you into actually doesn't trick you. It gets warm and then it just gets cold again and it phrases and it becomes very slippery and icy and a major safety hazard. Not only that with the warming and the cooling and the colding, the warming and the colding, the heating and the colding of the city and its environs, it also kind of opens it up to a bit of a risk of having a major snowstorm. That could happen anytime from now until the end of April possibly even into May. So don't count the pavement squares before they all appear. That's a good way. Good saying to use at this time. It basically we still have more time with winter. It's not it's not leaving us just that soon. Early show. So yesterday I tried out recording at the office and I'll tell you how's a little bit
04miffed by how noisy it got. Like seriously yesterday's episode I actually started three times the first time. So the first two I was sitting in one little corner of the office that there's a barricade. So you can't see me but you can hear me and the thing is like that the good thing about that co-working space is there's a big open space with tables in it which is good. The problem is that some of these guys they talk like outdoor voices inside and it just becomes very noisy. It doesn't seem like it doesn't have a very office atmosphere to it. I've talked about this before how there's sometimes that people take phone calls and that's the I'll tell you I've had people like I'm sitting at one table they will sit or two people sat right behind me on the couch and just start talking normal voice level. I'm going are you kidding I get if I did this outside your office how would you feel maybe I should so I've kind of taken upon myself to not
08use my indoor voice too much in the co-working space going it doesn't make sense to when everybody else is talking full volume all the time. So yesterday I actually had to restart again I went to one of the phone booths recorded the episode at around five thirty to six pm and in between that time there was three guys who were sitting in the common room just talking wow like there was no one there before I started and then as soon as I started recording three or four people showed up and they started talking. All right no problem today I am recording from home once again using the microphone yesterday I was talking about how I was doing a little bit of a test I want to see if it was a good workflow whether I could stay at the office record with the DJI microphone that I've had for years that's the one that I use whenever I'm traveling like in Australia the one size like the episodes that I said that were terrible it was the same microphone but if you recall in Australia the problem that I had with it is that I forgot the chains of settings in logic pro so although the
15microphone was connected it wasn't recording so logic was picking up the keyboard or sorry the the computer microphone not the DJI microphone that's why those episodes were garbage and had such artifacting in it as well I did not get a chance to look at them or go through I think they're on a different hard drive that I got to find and hook up to the the computer and get going again but yeah I might go through them I'm not sure I'm not too committed to that but I do have a the only other copy that I have is the copy that I recorded on my cell phone I might be able to maybe the quick time file because I again I have three different versions that are being recorded right now logic pro the iPhone and then the quick time which is usually connected to the microphone but just because quick time it doesn't always it doesn't record always the same input as logic pro
17all this is to say that the Australian podcast Australian episodes that I made last year weren't as good quality as I I was thinking they were because I didn't change the settings yesterday I wanted to try again using the DJI microphone excuse me in this phone booth that they have at the office and I think it's sound it sounded boomy to tell you truth I did try to take out some of the low end but I realized now I guess you're supposed to use what type of EQ or what type of compression to reduce the amount of reverb that's basically what was happening to them the walls were very close although they do they are sound treated they are treated for sound like deadening the sound a little bit they're not sealed and it's not very much insulation it's more like a token amount of insulation I guess it's probably the best way of putting it all I just say is that I although yes
18it's possible to record up the co-working space right now I didn't get a chance to get to the office today because I've been running around getting some other things done but if I were to go now the problem is is that at six o'clock they something six or six thirty days sometimes have events and that that would be very distracting to record through or record two in during so I figured well come home I will do the recording now and then figure out what I'm going to do in the evening after it was it's a bit of a different routine and I've talked about this before that this podcast as much as I love doing it I'll tell you there's a point at which I'm kind of going it does seem to sort of get in the way sometimes because I do it all the time but it also means like staying over at people's places might be difficult sometimes traveling during the week I find it very awkward to say I need to go record a podcast that you know handful of people listen to sort of thing and I appreciate those of you who do listen I see the numbers I've ticked up over year over
22the years I think I now have 11 Spotify followers and six on Apple podcasts that's like 17 total I'm not sure if it's the same people will consider them to be different people but overall the the listens per episode has it's about five or six steady within a day and I'm not too like I don't really advertise this podcast very much this is something that I'm not going to like I kind of keep on the download a little bit just because it is sort of a it's a sursky unplugged it's me just talking about things that are going on wherever I am and my goal with this and I will this actually ties into the book that I'm reading right now my goal with this it talks about you know keep your reader first and thinking you know that's obvious obvious advice obvious a thing that you're supposed to do give the customer what they want you know give the people what they want like musicians will do this as well I'm sitting you're going but how does Stephen King do
23this like what is he doing that what why does he tell stories about you know what washing machines or sewing machines that gobble up people or toy monkeys or you know the missed a fog that envelops a city or something like how how was that anything how was that what the customers want then then I got thinking about this like well and it didn't take me very long to figure out to put two and two together is that a guy like Stephen King or any writer like this fiction or nonfiction he goes for for what Stephen King does in terms of his value it's his ability to storytell that he says if somewhere to imagine sitting at the bar I think I've talked about Stephen King before and how I sort of my impression of his writing but you're sitting at the bar and you strike up a conversation and there's two ways to sort of take this one as like it's the person reporting it as it happened another one is as like if Stephen King was sitting at the bar you met him
24and you said something like wouldn't it be crazy if like you walked into a fog and couldn't come out sort of thing like if someone said that and Stephen King value giving the customers what they want is in seeing that and going well I got it not yeah I wouldn't to be kind of funny because then you could do this and like what would happen that could have been an alien spaceship could be this that's his ability is to dynamically create a story that someone someone else in the hands of anyone else be like yeah that's a maybe a great idea for a story I'm just not sure how to write it Stephen King does that's what he does Stephen King is able to tell you that story that you would say wouldn't it be so crazy if like a car just went around eating people all the time what like most people say that's the stupid idea Stephen's gonna but wait a minute what if and they're in is where he's able to provide value to people and provides a good story now how did this sort of veer away from the office was oh the value of this here podcast is my ability to not just talk
33endlessly during your workout 30 to 40 minutes but also an eclectic bunch of topics each and every day I do publish it rather regularly as well Monday to Friday but it also like to say that with the things that I do talk about although I do promote it more for expats like people who've lived overseas have that experience of being the other in a country or in another culture and another language entirely I like to think that I'm able to bridge the gap in some of those times not only that with the eclectic amount of topics with the eclectic variation of topics here I would say that I do create a it's the newspaper of audio I something along those lines I was thinking because I'm reading this book which I'll have to talk about it in a little bit right a must read they say put the reader first like oh yeah but no can't I where does the readers demands or the readers sort of wants and desires measure up with my ability or what I want to do and there again
37Stephen King comes into play well he sits there again at the bar or at the cafe or whatever and he's just a good storyteller he's like well I could create and I I could create that story for you let me tell you a bedtime story let me tell you I'll entertain that thought here we go what if so the car does this so before we get to the car we got to talk about this person and so on and so on so these things like that where you know being able to explain the details of the story and keep it going keep it entertaining through oh not not entertaining people are laughing but like the interest is there it's like okay and answering the questions of like okay but so what about and then he answers that question it might even be that you do pitch your questions like but it still seems kind of crazy the car would do that well okay but this is how it could happen is because blah blah blah now let me tell you about that person who starts that part of the story and so on and so on and why not that I'm saying that I'm on the same level as Stephen King although we
37share the same first name his is with a pH mine with is with a V I would like to say that over time I have developed the ability to talk to explain and to entertain throughout so that's my value proposition proposition PayPal link in the show notes for this episode so didn't get to the office just yet today I am getting some things done actually I never really expected to be not to go to the office while here I was kind of expecting to be in Canada for the month of March or at least part of it simply because as I was talking about in yesterday's episode to start going back requires me to shift mindsets and change the things that I'm doing on a daily basis so my daily routine currently is like I get up sometime between six to seven a.m. depending on how cold it is outside and I don't know if I really want to get up and going
41but I go downstairs I do some reading I make coffee and then I have coffee coffee with my mom until her eight o'clock mass starts and then after that a couple hours later I'll go to not that the mass is two hours but go to the gym then after the gym I go to the office I stay at the office until five thirty or six o'clock and then you know call a girlfriend if she's up yet and stuff like that and then come back and usually record this podcast in the evening now I'm trying to switch the evening routine to record this podcast a little bit earlier for another reason is that I don't think over time the number of things that happen in the evening are far less than the things that happen during the day especially I guess like the thoughts and the explanations all that stuff comes from stuff that's content that happens earlier in the day this podcast I used to record this I mean I still do record it like 9 p.m. because I would have a full-time job and then
42after work if I didn't start drinking then I would go eat or do the workout then I would eat and then that would usually take me around down to eight o'clock and then by eight thirty it's like you sort of check some emails maybe watch a YouTube video or whatever it is mine o'clock seems late but that that that's like the earliest I would be able to get going with the podcast if I did all the other post work activities that I typically do and I used to record this thing at like one o'clock in the morning sometimes just because I'd be so busy getting other things done after work and then going to bed getting up and doing the same thing again I'm having a day job throughout is that going to change going forward I hope so I hope so I was actually watching another thing that has sort of spurred me to talk about these like recording this earlier and making it more part of the job formally than it is right now or was is as watching Lauren jumps now I don't know if I've
47talked about her before but she's a you would consider her to be an influencer but she's just a girl who skips rope like jumps rope that's it she started during COVID April 2020 she now has 2.2 million YouTube followers if you've been following his podcast for a while and my other creative ventures you'll know that in April of 2021 and April of 2021 and April of 2021 and April of 2022 and I might add April of 2020 I started podcasting three different podcasts and three different years and I have nowhere near the same amount of subscribers or cash flow that she does but she was doing some Q&A I've had some Q&A videos over on our YouTube channel and I thought it was interesting that she just started recording for progress as a jump like skipping rope that's it so it wasn't meant to be a business or anything and I think I've talked about my podcast over the
53last year so starting to talk about the more as a business more as something else that I want to sort of focus on rather than having a day job and doing this in the spare time because the stuff does take time it does take some money I've tried to keep the cost down because again it's like you kind of do your cost arbitrage your your financial arbitrage there's like if I buy a microphone for a couple hundred dollars even if I use it for five or six years what am I getting out of it like is it going to generate revenue or is it basically just a glorified hobby and expensive hobby which right now I'll tell you thank you to my producers my producer who has contributed to the ongoing research and production of this year podcast and if you want to join that list if you want to join the list and if you get a little signed title card and a few other digital goodies you want to be part of the exclusive club that produces this show there is a PayPal link in the show notes for this episode there you go that I finished the spiel about Lauren jumps
58fantastic make she she does she looks good of course but she's a very like a stunt jump rope type of person Lauren jumps is her handle on Instagram and on YouTube she does she's recently done a Q&A on YouTube which she talks about why she chose the name Lauren jumps it was so that no one could find her and then now she's like pretty pretty big deal she has her own app has her many millions on YouTube and doing pretty well for herself I guess you could say so every Sunday they got divorced of my my condolences to her my apologies are my my sorries my how do you say that my regards my regrets I'm sorry to hear that but she is a single once again and I can't imagine what it would be like to be single with the in being attractive and then having 2.2 million people following you on YouTube that this blows my mind anyway sorry to hear that has happened now in terms of this
04market so this is something else I talk about in terms of my value proposition here I do talk about stonks quite a bit Chinese stonks or North American stonks I don't talk too much about European stocks I don't know them very much or very well I do I do have a few listeners from the UK not sure about other parts of Europe not that I imply that UK is part of the Europe I'm not sure this is your argument not mine and none of this information should be construed as should be considered as advice to buy yourself do your own research talk to qualified financial person about your money don't take my word for it it's your money your problem don't blame me but markets got crushed well at least they kind of did but they kind of didn't then they kind of reversed it was kind of like it's not that bad blame Trump it must be his fault because he ordered that strike on Iran I have no idea what happened that I mean other than other than the both the WeChat and the
07Western social media outcry like how dare you bomb I ran what have they done to how dare you you said no more war and I got I don't know enough about what's going on all I know is that the Middle East as I've talked about before bombs all over the place bombs bombs and come blueies and big things go boom all the time it's has there ever been a a new story that comes over the Middle East that's like and today there were a new batch of rabbits that everybody pet as they scurried around the gardens eating carrots I mean no that doesn't happen you don't see that all you see is negative news on everything put the map on the on your table put your figure right in the middle of the the map everything about that place is negative that at least according to the media which also makes me kind of want to go visit there I love to go visit like Tehran I would love to go there Jerusalem would love to go there Gaza Strip would be interesting boy not sure how that
14one will work out but that whole area like I've never traveled there before so I can't really like it's hard for me to even visualize what happens other than to sort of go by what's on the news and like the death and destruction and the prevalence of fighting in all sorts of areas and between these people and those people in the US somehow gets involved and et cetera et cetera so these people who are saying how dare you bomb Iran why did they bomb Iran I don't know do you know well because Trump is I okay so that's it that's the only explanation then what about pre-Trump because pre-Trump there were bombs falling all over Iran in the Middle East all over the place WTF not only that Saudi Arabia has a lot of money Abu Dhabi has a lot of money Dubai has a lot of money why if there are bombs going to Iran is the US getting blamed for when there are big money and big militaries in that area as well some questions that I kind of I wonder about
20and so why do I bring this up if you want a fun little thought experiment is this a deal is this a deal how could it ever be a deal well because every time the Middle East gets bombed in some other way keep my in Venezuela had their leader taken out extracted last month they're two months ago I when was the last time you heard that happening so he's gone or at least he's not in Venezuela anymore so apparently that has some effect on the the oil movement the oil shipments now the straight of her moves has been a big talking point big place for like a long time lots of oil goes through there and if there are bombs going through Iran strut her moves doesn't seem very safe either so what does this mean well oil popped not only that gold dropped why who knows other than
20US dollar was heavily oversold I mentioned this couple of weeks ago not only that even this guy zeal llc dot com Adam Hamilton he talks about how Chinese is sorry not Chinese but gold is super overpriced right now it's at the historical highs like beyond historical highs it's got to come down if it keeps going higher it will be a new record and not only that Chinese people were buying gold even throughout spring festival so that I think we just seen if not the exhaustion then the commencement of the selling of gold and silver I should say so gold and silver these are two medals are priced in US dollar so if the US dollar goes up then gold typically goes down and if usually when oil goes up the US dollar goes up as well this is not always the case we can talk about the petri dollar or like the US oil dollar and the various ways that it sort of
26um interacts typically at least I should say primarily the commodities are priced in US dollars and they trade uh either out of New York or out of London Johannesburg is another place that trades out of but like when the Middle East gets bombed or or I should say when that's terrible Stephen when the Middle East has turmoil uh typically that's reflected in the oil markets and oil can go up down or sideways it doesn't matter but I mean that's what I mean it does it does matter because then you see the stocks change and my point with this is that Chinese electricity stocks and Chinese energy stocks have done very well recently not only that Canadian oil has been doing very well I've talked about how the CIA may or may not be involved in Alberta's referendum that's going on uh nothing nothing is really moved on that I wonder I just can't help but
28entertain the idea if maybe there was some sort of deal hey we're going to do this over there so if that happens make sure your guys are ready to do your deals to sell Canadian energy overseas hello China and China get ready for a a a lessening of the availability a reduction of the availability of the energy that you were getting from other places your buddies in Venezuela so this is all very interesting to entertain can I prove any of this no of course not and I don't think anyone can either they can only come up with these ideas the way that you would I guess the way that you would sort of verify or check in on this would be you'd have to difficult you'd have to check oil tankers you'd have to check ports you'd have to be counting cars you'd have to be checking the shipments of oil because keep mine it's not just official oil they were talking about
32unofficial oil that is like um it's not I guess it's not illegal is it illegal I don't know but Venezuela was basically exporting a lot of oil that it wasn't reporting on its balance sheet sort of things so like China was taking it Russia was taking it et cetera so these thing apparently again apparently how would you check this how much is Venezuela reporting how much is actually coming out of the country how much is going across the ocean where is it being deposited how many tankers are going et cetera et cetera so you could do the tank count I guess is one way and simply what are the futures contracts as futures uh themselves like the things that the trade against the um how the commodities themselves those are contracts like real contracts that if you buy an oil future you are expected to either sell it or take delivery of the product that there's it's not an option an option is like a piece of paper that you can kind of
32tear up and go out just that expires worthless sort of thing a futures contract is an agreement that you either sell it like pass it on to someone else or you take it uh delivery into yourself and then you have to make sure that you have the appropriate accoutrements in place proper warehouse for storage et cetera so Chinese stocks also uh got hit in North America but not in China so the mainland market has done okay gold stocks of course taking a hit uh energy stocks have been doing very well how is it going to go overall I mean I think I've mentioned before that the uh the market like overall the North American market seems to be kind of overheated very overbought the RSI is very high and the prices have been sorry the RSI used to be high it is no longer high high because the price has been trending down and today we saw a massive spike down and then a bit of a buying rally throughout the day so it dropped at the beginning and then back up now this can beginning of month is usually when fund managers or big money people shuffle their portfolios
39a little bit it's what's known as um window dressing so the last three days of one month and the first two days of the next month are sort of seen as a period where portfolios are shuffle to make them look good basically it's it's just fund managers going I think I'm we're doing all right they might take a little off the top here buy some undervalued over here likewise they might play some trades or some hedges in place just in case things move against which usually when you put a hedge in place like an option or something it's it can decrease in value if it doesn't go the right way or increase in value if it goes the way that you're thinking it's going to uh uh go and the reason I put it that way is because again options can expire worthless but stocks generally aren't going to go out of business that's not always the case though sometimes they do properly disappear so all that is to mean uh all that is to say end of the month beginning of the month it's a time of portfolio adjustment so this type of
41volatility is sometimes expected not only that right around now third month uh word should be out of the January February shuffle where people have to sell or try to sell or repurchase stocks that they sold at the end of last year for tax purposes it's at at this point I have to um mention so there's two rules uh that uh there's one rule I thought was the case and another rule that is the case so the one rule that is the case and when I mention it that people are selling stocks or assets in December typically have to wait 30 days before buying them again or else your tax authority will disallow the loss if there is a loss it's called the wash uh wash rule or the wash sale rule um 30 day wash days wash sale basically if you if you are losing $10,000 in a stock on December 29th you sell it and it gets settled on December 30th you if you buy that and
44you lost $10,000 if you buy that stock again on January 5th the CRA or the uh what was it there IRS or whatever tax body it is will not allow you to claim that $10,000 even though it stretches over two years it's a 30 day wash day uh wash rule sell wash sale rule I can't remember the official terminology 30 day wash wash what's the body wash sale basically they disallow the loss they they disallow your capital gains loss on that uh that sale why because if you're buying and selling the same security or like securities within the same time period within that 30 day they consider it to be more of a business like a trading business rather than an investment and so that's where they that's where they justify disallowing the loss that means however you sell that stock December 29th it gets settled December 30th on January 31st if you buy that stock again and then it
45goes up 100% you make $10,000 now you're going to get taxed 50% on the capital gains that from that January purchase but you can also include you can reduce your taxable income by that 10,000 50% of the capital gains loss from that December sale sound confusing yes and that's why you uh should be talking to a financial pro before doing any sort of trades finally the second rule that I thought was the case but is not is specific to Canada I mentioned this a while back that there's a one year income rule and stock trading that is incorrect in Canada Canada does not have it the United States does and all that is to say is that you should be checking your jurisdiction so if you're listening to this polling cast and this podcast and uh going hey this guy is uh in lighten to me as to how stock trading really works there are rules that I will talk about that apply to Canada that do not apply around the world um likewise there are strategies that are available to
47Canada or the United States that are not available in other parts of the world uh specifically when I talk about leveraged ETFs not every country has them covered call ETFs not every country has them as well but I think you should double check on all those just to make sure so the one year income rule is that if you buy and sell a stock within one year you get treated you get taxed differently that is not the case in Canada you get taxed on everything it doesn't matter United States is where if you hold a stock for more than a year it's taxed at a lower rate than if you buy and sell within the same year and I think it's within the same calendar year I believe can't remember that one you have to check on again so well as to say one year income rule in stock trading you bought in Canada you get taxed on everything the United States you get taxed differently depending on how long you hold that equity or ETF or asset for in Canada you get you get taxed 50% on your capital gains
50anyway finally this is something I'm gonna have to talk about a little bit more later going on later on I should say not going on right I must read if you recall a few many months ago 15 or so I was talking about writing a book based on the uh the language vlog uh youtube shorts that I published over the last couple years and this is actually something I am I've been thinking about going back to over the next couple months is getting something like this done uh I've also talked about the the course uh a course that I was preparing as well never got around to doing it and part of it is because not only did I run out of time to do these things but in in running out of the time I was thinking about what I actually wanted to give people what I wanted to sell and I'm going this is it's not good enough just yet and it's not like it's not like I don't know what I'm talking about it's that the way that it's been published already and the way that I'm trying to
54edit it isn't good enough so trying to re edit it re edit it recompile it in a way that makes sense and is cohesive and helpful not just a there I smashed it together I published it I'm an author type strategy this is what this book is all about right I must read by AJ Harper she used to be a ghost writer I think she still is but she talks about how she works there's only one author that she names um in the book and that's because he agreed to having his name uh sort of not exposed but disclosed as that he was using a ghost writer for uh his uh uh his work and actually I think I've seen the book that she's talking about that she says that she wrote for the under his name basically so she as a ghost writer uh basically she's the the person who does all the work but doesn't get the credit she does get paid a nice little fee for it but in terms of fame and fortune that's not
59what she gets so this book she talks about after her career or maybe she's still in her career which is like this these are the things that you need to keep in mind there's about five or six things that she mentions on page 14 like how people are going to buy your book read your book finish your book act on your book and then talk about your book afterwards and all basically comes down to their their the gauntlets or the the road on which they are going to walk with you during your book all the words that you write down and publish and tell them they have to be worth it basically because you're publishing this book because you you have something to say that again going back to that Stephen King uh sort of ideas like if someone said when to be crazy if I mean I could just make money and uh just not have to think about my my money all the time and not just worry about my paycheck to which I could say well I could tell you how to do that and for the price of a cup of coffee
59or a meal and again that that why I say that is cup of coffee is one price point a meal is another price point if you want to spend a couple hours together and you know pays for transportation to and pay for all three meals or something so you can break it down in terms of fees or sort of the remuneration that could be expected from that type of knowledge and that type of ability to bridge the gap of knowledge and it sounds very complicated the way I'm saying it it comes down to the reader like what does your reader need and what are they saying well I wouldn't it be great if I could and you go yes I know how to do that now there are people out there who say I know how to do that let me take you to this website and I can show you how to look at these different things and oh this guy's really good so they're not really giving you the information they're kind of giving you the information you're you're kind of smarter than you were before but you're no better off whereas a guy like me says first of all don't trade options second of all broad market ETFs third of all don't trade like if you are you talking about learning
04how to enter the buy and sell or do you think you're going to somehow outsmart the firms the money makers the money market makers the market makers who have teams of analysts and far better technology than you could possibly even imagine you think you're going to outsmart them as a day trader good luck sir or ma'am good luck I don't believe show me is what I would say to that because at that point I said then then yes you're right I can't teach you how to do that because I don't think that's a good idea at all that's probably the worst idea that you get if you want there's a PayPal link in the show notes for this episode if you have $10,000 and you're like man I love to gamble on something like options or man all I can beat the day trading let me stop you let me just put another investment idea into your mind there is again PayPal link in the show notes for this episode you can transfer that money to me and I will put it to good use for you now I'm not
06saying that there's going to be any return on the investment other than it might not be a financial return but think of all the podcasts all the value that you could create not just like not just for helping me out but you give me $10,000 not going to lie I'll be able to do this for a very long time I have other ideas for podcasts I would love to I get distracted because I got to go get a job work a paycheck so if you have 10 grant 100 grant a million dollars million dollars might flag PayPal but certainly maybe $100,000 10,000 is going to flag PayPal as well but certainly consider donating to the research and production of this year podcast the value creation of this podcast much like a stock pays dividends in that there's a new episode each and every day so do consider donating today finally new MacBooks from Apple is it worth the upgrade no not yet even though they do look like sweet machines then what I specced out one today and it was like
07seven grand for something it was like not top top but not bottom it was sort of right in the middle lower middle and I'm going wow $7,000 for a computer last year or two years ago I basically walked in just got a computer because I was leaving the country if I did that this year I the base amount would be about five grand six grand or something it's insane how much these things cost but they are sweet systems I highly recommend MacBooks I highly recommend Apple products most of them like they're their MacBooks their iPhones even their iPads free easy and seamless to use so if you're considering it yeah seems like a good enough purchase a good investment if you have $10,000 and hey I would actually say if you were thinking about buying a new MacBook I would I would say well could you finance that because what's the point of spending all that money at once when you could in theory this is again something you have to
09talk about with your financial pro you could make minimum payments $400 a month but then take the difference like so if you have $10,000 you're sitting out you put that money away that generates interest that helps pay for the $400 a month and also you could send a monthly contribution through the PayPal link in the show notes for this episode to help this podcast recorded on a MacBook and a sure microphone that you know we both it's a win win situation for everybody involved with that folks I'm going to leave it here thank you very much for listening I appreciate it the show notes interacts will be available up on my website steamsersky.com there's a notion database there that tracks all the episodes that are published newsletter is over on substack steamsersky.substack.com language log is on youtube at steams language log and finally folks yes if you are willing to contribute to the production costs of this podcast or the research that's
