Solis Minerals starts Cinto copper drilling

Solis Minerals Ltd CEO Mitch Thomas talked with Proactive about the start of diamond drilling at the 100%-owned Cinto Copper Project and the company’s objectives for the 2,500-metre exploration program. Surface exploration has produced encouraging results, including rock chip grades above 5% copper and previous sampling of up to 8.7% copper. Thomas also highlighted channel sampling over 20 metres that returned grades including 0.7% and 0.5% copper. The drilling program is targeting breccias identified at surface alongside targets informed by the induced polarisation survey carried out last year. Thomas said the key objective is to establish indications of a copper porphyry system within the company’s concessions, with the program expected to encounter oxide mineralisation nearer surface before testing for sulphide mineralisation at depth. Thomas also discussed progress at the Mandacaru Lithium Project, where the company is finishing its fifth diamond drill hole before moving to a sixth. He said drilling has intersected pegmatites corresponding with the company’s surface mapping and LCT indicators, with mineralisation observed in some intersections. Solis Minerals expects assays from Mandacaru around the end of September or early October, with exploration progressing at both projects in parallel.
