Kea. Kea, movement that inspires. Well, it is not about Mike not having water in how he pooped last night. It is about Georgia Tech and Colorado. And we will give you our thoughts as we finish up today. Tomorrow again, we're Buffalo's Cafe in Hamilton, Mills. So come on out and join us guys. We're going to have a good time out there tomorrow from 2-6, heading to Labor Day weekend. But before we get to that, Mike, you were talking about some of the core proceedings that are going on in this LSU trial. Man, it's unbelievable. Some of the things being said, and again, we used to have a, I don't know, maybe in legal terms, Carl, there's no such thing as a fair fight. But to be walking into a courtroom in Louisiana for the SEC and their attorneys, as somebody put out there on social media today, it's like being a non-tallaban person walking into a Taliban court in Kabul. But there's some crazy stuff out there. The attorney general for Georgia, Chris Carr, as we know,
told Greg Sankey to take all measures available. Well, apparently the LSU attorney general called the Georgia case garbage and apparently Greg Sankey's flying home. Well, no blank Sherlock. Everybody at this level is flying home on a private plane. That's true. You know, they generate billions of dollars. But it's just the discourse or lack of civility is just kind of mind-boggling. We all know that the story, anybody who follows college football, it's common sense. Not to go down this road. You said it earlier in the week, you think Lane Kip has been pressured to this by the money men ahead of him. And he's just going along because they're paying, you know, the difference of about three to four million dollars a year to get him from Ole Miss. But some of the stuff being said in the courtroom, it's like, it's literally like you watching a fan's chat room play out in court in Louisiana. And I think of you in the SEC, like you just come in there, you take your lumps, and you eventually get this thing. Do you want to pellet court? And you advance it somewhere where there's some common sense. But you were never expecting to win anything today in Louisiana. I don't think so.
The reports where Greg Sanky was being grilled by their attorney. Yep. And, you know, at one point, the judge had to strike some of those comments. Correct. And, you know, again, guys, if you know lawyers, and my best friends at Big Time lawyer in Texas, you do stuff for effect. It's not that you expected to stay in, you know, in the trial or in the statements. But you do stuff for effect, and people remember that stuff, you know. It's the famous one, right? If it don't fit, you must have quit. Right. Right. I mean, it's, you say stuff. So at the end of the day, I want you, Mike, on this. I think it just plays its course. It runs its course. And the SEC is not losing this. They're just not, guys, and you've got what, Mike? The entire South Eastern part of the country. There are schools in every one of these states. Every attorney general is backing what the SEC is, is believing, which is, you just can't do this. So if they're not going to lose, as I've said, I just think this is all a dog and pony show right now. And at the end of the day, Lane Kiffin, he may be silly and dumb, but he ain't stupid.
And he's not going to risk a potential national championship or a chance to be in the playoff by playing, guys, who are not supposed to be on the team. I just, I have a hard time believing that. And Mike, if he does, then maybe he is just that. He is an idiot. As you said before, the commercial break, this will be one hell of a 30 for 30. If he has been still does those, Tony Clayton, hammering Greg Sanky and his attorney, Jason Williams, keeps objecting. According to Jacques Deussette and more from the WFB, live coverage car, love the courtroom, out there in Louisiana. Yeah. Clayton, getting hammered as the judge keeps overruling him, says, as my grandma used to say, no, fall when the rabbit got to gun. That, I mean, it's like the judge ordered that comment also to be struck from the record. I'm glad LSU people are having fun on social media. Enjoy it. You're the new Texas tech. You're the guys lacking adults in the room in common sense. And eventually, this will get to a courtroom where a judge who has common sense, who isn't a booster or has season tickets at Tiger Stadium will figure this stuff out.
It's, it's painful that it even goes gets this far. But either way, Greg Sanky and the SEC getting grilled as we expected today in that tall Rouge. All right. What about tonight, man? I had somebody hit me up. They said they think the score is going to be 30. What did he say here? I'm looking at it's 31, 24. Well, that's not good for me. Georgia Tech. That's not good for me. 31, 24. It's 55. Over 50 and a half. So, but do you feel like it's going to be a high school? That's high scoring. Well, that means Colorado's functioning. That's correct. We spoke with our play by play guy earlier today. And it was great conversation with Mark Johnson. Check it out on the Odyssey app. If your kids aspire to be an outstretched, check him out. But Carl, where's that offensive line and defensive line going to get the pressure? I mean, I know he joked during about the video that came out about they looked okay to me. They're not undersized. But they flipped that roster. You asked the question about all the stuff that Deon had to go through personally. You know, is this a team in disarray? It's a bad football team last year. It was. How much did they change? I think Georgia Tech addressed their needs.
Pass rush, outside linebackers, edge rush, running back up. One of the best running backs available. Now, I'm not sure what the other Mendoza brothers going to be. But I really like Tech and I still, I'm still sticking with the under. I bet I bet on it. I just, you know, Deon has said that he really likes his team. He likes the 40 guys they brought in. And by the way, imagine that. I know, but this is the norm. But I will tell you guys this, like it's not like Colorado has been void of players. You know who's LSU starting left tackle? He started at Colorado last three years. Okay. It's not like he hasn't had talent. So he says he likes his team. I just, my thing is the defensive side of the ball for Colorado has been suspect. Since Deon's gotten there, right? He had his son. He had Travis Hunter. They were going to score points. All right. That's your one last year. They're three and nine. And now we're going to year four of Deon and you're going, okay. And they had quarterback, you know, it was a quarterback carousel. He started guys. He pulled guys. This is Ju-Ju's team. I think now he did the red shirt freshman, you know, he played four games to maintain his red shirt.
Right. I just don't think defensively, Mike, they're going to be even if they score points. Because this new offense, they call it the go-go. Okay. That's, I'm just telling you, it's the go-go offense. It's from the Sacramento State Coach that came over. Okay. They have a chance to score some points. I just don't think they're going to be able to stop people. 425 yards given up per game last year. And it's ridiculous. I know that everybody said take the air out of the ball. I don't think that George Godsey's going to just run the ball the entire game. I think that you play action to set up now. How much trust do they have in Alberto Mendoza? We're going to find out. But yes, they're going to pound the rock. They got a great physical offensive line. It is sort of a reflection of the head coach. Brent Key was a part of a physical offensive line from his time with George O'Leary. And that's what he wants to put out there on the field tonight, Carl. So the question is, how does Colorado in that state of transition are my new guys better than your new guys? That's right. Do I have less new guys than you do? That's right. But that's like that for everybody. Yeah. I mean, when Clemson plays LSU, LSU's got half the roster turned over. But this is why it gets back to coaching. Like you can insert all these new guys, but have you coached them well enough that Mike, you will see a difference.
I'm willing to tell you right now, we'll see the play by play announcer, Mark Johnson came on for Colorado. And he said, Dion really likes his staff. I was a little bit being tongue in cheek. When Dion got the job, you saw all these NFL cats come out of the woodworks. And like, hey, I'll go work for Dion. And it was cool, right? You saw all these guys on the sideline. What he then realized was all great players don't make great coaches. So now he's got coaches. And he feels like this may be his best staff. So you don't have all these guys roaming around. And they're all still cool. But I do think there's something to that. And if it is his best staff, and this team will be much better coach, much better than they've been. I want to give the edge to bring key. Because I think the way he's installed his program, I think it's better and it's more consistent with how you should try to build a program with where Dion's been. Well, I mean, it's the all team, like it's the all hall of fame and all protein. You brought in his coaches and he has like Warren Sapp and all that. But I mean, sometimes the elite players look at 10 Williams.
Not exactly the best baseball manager with the Washington Senators. Sometimes Carl, you need those guys. They're with the worker bees that catchers, the minor league catchers. Yep, the guys who develop. Now, what wise had a hell of a career at MLB for a guy where he was in his career with Oakland most of those years. But for the most part, it's not necessarily the rock star stud. You know, who gets the most out of his players. Sometimes you're not the best teachers. We'll see how Dion has done. I know that you and I spent some time talking about Dabbo this week about how he lost his great assistant coaches. Yeah. You know, and Bobby Bowden went through that to a degree. You know, Kirby's going to have a brain drain too at some point. More guys will leave in his program because the job, like, remember, it's just, it's just the way football works. If you have a successful program, people are going to pill for your talent. But Dion, Dion Sanders, how does he pivot? It's a lot, think about his last 12 months. It's been hard. It's a lot going on. It's been hard. No doubt. In the health issues, certainly. Yeah, I mean, the human element is still a thing. Yeah, that's that's a big point. We won't be talking about it with you tomorrow. Hopefully we get a good game. Hopefully it's entertaining.
Hopefully Georgia Tech covers you and I are both on it. That's true. Mine is six and a half. I do like Tech, man. We'll see what happens tonight. And then good luck to Kennesaw State as well as they take on West Georgia up here in Kennesaw. Lots of folks came through today and they have made their way over to the stadium. Some tailgating going on over there. ESPN Plus, if you want to check out the Kennesaw State game tomorrow, again, Hamilton, Mill, Buffalo's cafe will be out there. So we're trying to make our way around the city. And if you're in the area, man, stop in. We'd love you get a chance to hang out with you. Big shout out to all of our listeners who came through today. All right, Turtles got a full show tonight. Is that right? Oh, all right. Stay tuned. I know he's got a lot to talk about. Let's get out of the glove away, man. And clear our throat. All right, Mike. Before we get out of here, has the, has the folks been out to your house yet? Yeah. The repairs and progress right now. Very nice. Thanks to the plum here. All right. Awesome, man. Hey, Dave, great job.
Executive producing. Big O back at the studio. Appreciate you always being on your game. Thank you, sir. And a big shout out to you guys for hanging out with us, man. Football's here, guys. I mean, if you hadn't felt it, I know it's still hot outside. But look, it's going to be a great one. Well, too hot for USC fans, certainly, but not too hot for Georgia fans. It's going to be a great weekend. And we're all about it tomorrow. So make sure you tune in at two. And tomorrow, wake up with the morning shift. Obviously, the steakie, steakhouse, and then Andy and Randy, leading right into us at two o'clock. All right, Mike, we got to get out of the way, man. Thanks to the folks out here at Twin Peaks as well. Mike Bell, clear throat. Hey, man, Buffalo's Hamilton Mills. Carl mentioned you throw up on that end of town. Carl coming. See us a lot of fun tomorrow. Hey, man, we just talked about the Griggs Sankies testimony today getting grilled. Well, oh my god, what's going on in Baton Rouge? It looks like the scene in Frankenstein. The villages have torches and pitchforks, Carl, given the high profile nature of today's proceeding and security concerns, including threats received to connection with the matter, a request is made for commission to Sankie to utilize an alternate entrance from the East
Baton Rouge parish, Sheriff. So, Greg Sankie had to exit through a side exit. Great line from Mark Weiser from the Athens-Better Herald. He goes, I guess we can rule out hosting SEC Media Days in New Orleans at a time soon. I mean, it's like we are living in Bizarro world. It is. Hey, I don't know if it's him or if it's them. Michael Pinnix has been cleared physically by the doctor. He's good to go. When I say is it him or is it them? Are they still trying to protect them or make shoes? New clothes? Brand new grade. Or is it him saying, you know what? I'm still not quite where I want to be. Guys, I think it's somewhere in between. You know that old line where the truth is kind of in the middle? I think it's a little bit of him, but I also think it's a little bit of them. Either way, it's got to be worked out in nine days. And if it's not, you're going to be wondering more about him than them. Hey, if you love the show, you tell your friends. Eeeeeeeh! You don't? Hammer them. If the truth lies in the middle, isn't that close to two things being true? Oh, don't you dare. New Shoes, new clothes, brand new gray. Switch to Verizon to make sure their tech keeps up.
