more bad news for the falcons. First and foremost, Kevin's defense, he confirms the defensive tackle. DeShon hand has a quad injury that is expected to be season injury ending. So more likely he's done. Again, that just affects the depth at defensive tackle. We already were trying to pick up guys here before the season started. So DeShon hand, it looks like he's going to be done for the season. And then Chris Lynch, Jim is in concussion protocol. The team will monitor him throughout the week. I just said to Dadey, our executive producer, I don't expect to play him on Sunday. That's just usually the situation in the NFL. We've seen it happen before. I'm not telling you he may, he might not play, but Mike, I'd be more surprised because again, they usually keep you out of week when you're in the protocol. It's you guys watching a football. It's a rare guy comes back in time. College, they kind of, right? Doc, he's fine, right? Doc, wink, wink, a little bit different with the NFL. I guess Michael Jarell is the swing guard tackle. Yes. So that's that's the scary proposition against a big defensive front from the panthers that give us trouble. We're talking about this game and the state of the Falcons.

You said I went in on you. What was you said something? I said, I hope this game doesn't define us. Yeah, because but you know, when the quarterback situation is in limbo, this game very well could define us. We might be in this friggin roller coaster or whatever this is going to be because again, no one knows when Michael Panax Jr. is going to come out of the coach and say, if it was like to face the game as it guys, I spoke with Mike, he's good to go full week of practice with the ones and we're often running didn't hear that today. Didn't and when Zeno asked him about what will maybe later in a week, Wednesday, he equivocated. So that's still not in the air, man. So that means you know, and I don't think they've got the balls that go with Jack Strand over Cooper rush. So you'd be prepared to see Cooper rush again. So that's when that's when the rubber hits the road for all these guys. You'd be too hard on pancakes. You go watch the Falcons on Sunday with Cooper. I'm ashamed. I'll be there. You know, it's a tough watch. So that was my line. I mean, it, it, it, it, it, it, I said it may not, but it very, very well made to fight us. Yeah. I just, I think when you talk about what we are, and that was what I said back to you was, what, what are we?

Like, yeah, one game doesn't define the season or it is defined who you are, but the reality, when you've come off of five mediocre seasons, and then you start the season the way we just did, it sort of does. Right. This is kind of expected. Call your friends around the country and ask them about what the Falcons, what do you think about the Falcons? I guarantee you mediocre will continue to, to pop its head up. So that's, that was my response, but it can get better. And let's talk about some of the positives because here's the one thing. Bejohn did everything you could possibly do yesterday. Oh my God. I mean, bejohn literally was a one man gang yesterday, 21 carries 81 yards, eight receptions for 90 yards. That's 29 touches 29 for 173 yards from scrimmage. He did almost everything you could imagine from a running bat guys. And again, he's so much more versatile. But Mike, if you say, all right, what are the positives? The positives would be if you got that and you got the ball somehow to Drake who had two balls and pit two at zero and ZB who had zero, almost sitting how dynamic does this offense look because now it's not just focused on bejohn.

Right. I mean, look, bejohn, as you just said, did everything. Now I was a little nervous to be on putting on the rug. One of those fumbles killed the drive because they had to grab the ball behind the line of scrimmage and the other fumble and other player recovered it. But yeah, it's just, I think you got a look at Cooper rush. They didn't trust the delivery system. He couldn't see the things when they were things that were open as Greg Olson commented. He wasn't seen it. Nope. And, and they just again, slants quick hits. Hell, man. I mean, I'm not saying you I'm not saying you got to be jerk Carter. Give me, give me wide receiver screens all day long. You know, it's just nothing seemed to be to be working or if it was there, he just did not see it. Yeah. And when he had a guy open and Kyle Pits, potentially for a touchdown, Kyle Pits is doing his job being the unicorn and he underthroes the ball with the DB is able to close on it and get the deflection. Yeah, that was not Pits' fault. You're right. 4047260929. The defense, by the way, held the Steelers the 58 yards rushing. It's really good, by the way. And then 226 total yards, guys, it's the fewest allowed in week one since 1977. They did their job. Like, you're in this

game because of what the defense is doing and the offense is not giving you a damn thing. And this has been the issue. The offense hasn't done a damn thing the last four or five years. This is where we've been living. One big play here and there, Mike. We don't throw the ball vertically. Okay. We got a limited quarterback. How many years are we going to have a limited quarterback? Well, I've told you guys last year, our quarterback is in the draft. Matt Ryan is looking at quarterbacks. He may go travel around the country. Look at some more. I mean, unless Pettis can, I mean, I don't know if they even believe in Pettis guys. I don't even know if this organization even believes in him. Some of you guys are so gullible. You hear an organization say something or a general manager or coach, you go, okay, well, it's not that that's really way it's going to happen. No, it's not. He's got to get out there. There's people in that building rolling their eyes right now. Go, when the hell is Pank's going to take this, grab the, grab the brass ring and go for it. Well, you said something that, you know, when you just said you go down there and watch Cooper, I mean, bottom line is, man, you got to get us in thuzy. Asked to get part of that is I think for because we do think he's got the most talent of anybody in that room.

Pinnix would do that, right? He would bring a little bit of enthusiasm. My concern is how confident is he going to be once he gets out there that there is nothing to do with what he can play. How confident is he going to be? Is he going to be like like Cooper Rush Mike where I'm just not going to I'm going to throw it away because I am so like in my head about stuff. I don't know. I don't know what this is going to look like, but I do think you're right about Matt and by the way, they should be they should be the Eagles had a quarterback went drafted. Jalen Hertz, right? You should be. And by the way, Carson wins comes in and balls out yesterday for Minnesota. You see that? Carson wins. I mean, having a serviceable backup and we don't have that. We they're great. We were we were throwing some pretty crappy cards. The timing of it. I was explaining that a couple of guys I was talking to on the text line, Carl, you know, Thursday, mid, you know, starter practice. Now everything's got to pivot to Rush and everything was probably all week built up for two. You know what? What two have done guys should me up on the text line, Richie says, Mike, you know, you want to see Pinnix? We all want to see Pinnix. What would Pinnix have done? I don't know. I don't know what Pinnix would have done. I like to see it. Okay. And then if you want to make

excuses, you could say, well, they held in the offensive line. Wasn't good. But I would like to think that if he's been coached up that Pinnix wouldn't be able to see some of the things that Cooper Rush didn't see and has one thing we all know about Michael Pinnix. He's got an arm. Yes, he's got an arm. Yes, he does. Right. And if you can just hold if you can give me a hold, can you move it? I mean, can you move it? Can you move the pocket? And we're not saying he's mobile guys don't get it twisted. But is there there's nothing that could have been done if Michael Pinnix is out? I don't I'm never going to accept that. All right. Uh, phone lines are open. As we've said, they will be all the way up until six. By the way, we get the coaches show tonight. Dave Archer at six and Brandon Dores is going to be the player guests. So sticking around. Archer will do that all season long guys. And you'll get a chance to hear from coach Defansky after the fact. I know he talked to him right after the game yesterday. But now they've had a chance to kind of digest all this and we'll hear what he has to say. But Mike said it. I think the most important thing is what he didn't say today. No updates on the quarterback situation. That's all we want to know. 4047 to six, oh nine, two nine. Um, we will go around the NFL and our fourth and one segment coming up. Um, as I mentioned to Sean Han torn quad.

It looks like it's season ending. Uh, he's going to have surgery and then Lensstrom and concussion protocol. So those are things that will linger into this week. And Mike, they're going to have to probably make some kind of corresponding move with hand. I'm assuming that whether it's the practice squad or whatever, whether you're going out and getting somebody else and then the Lensstrom thing, it does affect your offensive line. Um, big time. So no, we did get Jervon Dex. The bear is led Jervon Dex. You're going to trade just about how bad they looked offensively. I mean, defensively offensively. They're like lights out. Yep. But they're deep and struggling with Caroline. But we got him. Uh, and then you start to say, I need to lean in with Brandon Dorillus. But we got your late. We just got to get him acclimated and we're thin. We're thin at the position. Uh, they like Mason Smith. Uh, they read Mason. Greg, I should say talked about that yesterday on the broadcast. But again, we don't, and then you remember Ontario Thompson never got on the field. Yeah. And he got I already from the early in camp. So that's, that's, look, it's been a position of concern. But that's why, you know, again, not whether you think hand is any good or not, depth rotation. Yeah. Big time. Let's talk to Greg and powder springs. Greg, thank you for listening.

Man, you're on sports radio 92 9 the game. Hey, man. Yeah, man, you're better buckle up because, this is going to be bad. I mean, it didn't go no matter who's under center with this thing. I mean, you got 22 guys on one year deals. Not sure what you expected. You got a strong arm quarterback who's inaccurate. I mean, I'll tell you what I expected. Expect the team to be coach better, not nine penalties for 96 yards. Right. I'll tell you what I expected. I expect a, uh, uh, a little bit more imagination. We're trying to get your playmakers involved regardless of your quarterback situation. I'll tell you what I expected. I expected the defense to give you a chance. And they did yesterday. My concern was past rush. It ended up not being an issue. Mike's right. The Steelers are bad. They gave you opportunity. Look, it's easy to sit here and just say this is going to be a crap season. But if some of these things actually play out, Mike, right. Maybe it won't be. Guys, if you believe in Michael, Patrick said that's why you guys want to make excuses for. Then, you know, then you're telling me you don't think Michael Pettis can turn this thing around. If he

can do the job, he was drafted to do great. They're not by this GM, but I mean, a guy with a big arm, you know, I mean, we get it. The Steelers, that's our calling card. They're defense. That offense brother, you're a Steeler fan. That's the same crappy offense. You see the last decade. I agree. That goes back to the last couple of years. A Rathasberger when they should have moved on sooner. And that's why Tom was not there anymore. But getting back to us, you know, that's a thing. It's guys, we didn't suck the quarterback suck quarterback couldn't do anything. You know, we got the ball into B. Johnson's hands. He did the rest. No. But I mean, this is still a team which held the opponent on the road to 20 points and was in a position again, two misfield goals for it to be a one, literally a game winning field goal. Could have won this game first. Thanks, Nick folk. Josh in Riverdale, your own sports video, 92 9th game. Hey, man. Hey, man. Hey, man. I finally made the radio. I've been trying to call you off forever, brother. Hey, but listen, man, I think I think everybody's like usual is going to go over reactionary. What I saw, this is me. I saw an elite defense that if they play that way, the entire season, you're going to be in every game. And what I also saw from a schematic standpoint was Tommy

Reese had people open, you know, Cooper rushes was unable to perform. But let's talk about why he was unable to perform the stat. The effects of what led up to the game. If you we all know, two of got hurt Thursday, Cooper rush took his first ever snaps with the ones that day and Friday. Yep, said it and then woke up Saturday with backspasms. So the I hear what you're saying about the imagination and all that type of stuff, but that game plan had already been in place. And it was in place for two or so they already had to they already had to alternate game plans when they found that they had to play Cooper rush. And then when Cooper rush came in with the bad bet, they probably had to alternate they probably had to alter the game plan even more. So I feel like, you know, I walked away from the game actually very optimistic because you realized that if you had just copied Cooper right, right exactly you you don't you're not only winning that game, you blow them out. So I'm excited about the rest of the season. I feel like all we need is for,

you know, one of the two guys to get healthy. I'm a big Michael Pinnix fan, but whichever one decides to actually be healthy and play and win games, I'm cool with because I know that we have a really good team this season. Now about the backspasms, he did say he was good to go talking with Mark Ramondi about this. And so I get it. You know, so you don't know Cooper rush from a hole in the wall. We just know from other appearances around the league. But yeah, it's just it's that's the cherry on top car. This crap Sunday with the quarterback position. I mentioned that earlier. How we I'm a limited were you as far as what you want going to do with the install when he comes in to take over on Thursday when when two of goes out and then all of a sudden he gets so you don't get the full week of preparation with Cooper rush. He said he was fine. Perhaps that was something that something to do with why the ball couldn't come out accurately on schedule. But either way, I mean, that's why I mean don't tease me with Jack strand that if you got a guy and it's if you are this all so long, what have you and I said to the audience? We got a great brain trust. Adults in the room. Well, then let's go let's find a way to split some snaps with the Jack strand.

And let's see what this cat can do. Right? Because if two is out and pedics won't, I like I you could imagine reaction from the stadium, the audience, the crowd with Jack strand's under center at some point. Yeah, if that was to happen at home, absolutely. I mean, a lot of people's TVs would have exploded yesterday. I think if it would have played out that way. 22 passes went for five yards beyond the line of scrimmage. 22 passes went for five yards. Right beyond the line of scrimmage. That's not a game plan. That's not a game plan. The incompletion, one of the deeper throws was the undertone ball depicts that we talked about that could have been a game breaker. Yeah. What's up, oh, I'm sorry. How far have we found as a fan base if we're at home and they tried out Jack strand and we get excited about that. That's exactly right. That's where we are though. Are we though? That's where we are. Well, again, I mean, you got you got folks out of there in the penthouse camp down around the strand camp. People got excited to back. I'm already covered this in the offseason, Carl, but it's like to Orange Point, things are so bad right now. We're begging to see the guy from Minnesota, more ahead. Yeah. And I just think that you're right. It's

startling and it's almost like, are you serious? But that's where we are. The play Sunday was so uninspiring that you felt like anybody else could have gone in there and why not him? So that's that's just where we're living right away. The guy hit me up just now on the text that goes Mike and Karela goes if Saphansky didn't announce Pentax's starting, is that mean he's not starting this week? Not yet. Couldn't tell you. Not yet. We're not there yet. It's it's Monday. As I mean, is Pentax told him yes or no yet? Don't know. If we get to Wednesday and there's no announcement, okay, then we can start up because again, that's when they'll start trying to put the install in and working towards somebody. It could be a hero here, man. It can come to the rescue. His name is Michael Pentax Jr. Well, you say that, Michael, but then he's got to perform. He can't play like crap either on Sunday and just be out there. He's got to perform. He's got to perform. I mean, like it's to just show up and be like, I'm here. Right. Well, then or he's not going to play the Halloween as they suggested. And this is just a gap here. And you're just wasting my time. Cooper Rush was 30th out of 30 qualifying quarterbacks. Total QBR.

It is Duke Symbel guys talking about the Falcons on a Falcon Monday with you. Plenty more of your phone calls are welcome. We will talk about the dogs and what we saw in college football. Plenty more of that tomorrow also with our guy Connor Riley. But want to remind you, football coverage on 92 9th and the game is presented by Expinity score the most reliable Y5. One price, five years guaranteed. Expinity. Imagine that before we get into some of the things that happened around the NFL, I thought it was a very entertaining week one. I'm not talking about just our game. Obviously at that set that aside, I'm just saying generally speaking as an NFL fan, I thought was a very entertaining week one. Some surprises, some upsets. Maybe none bigger, Mike than what the Cardinals were able to do. Michael a floor, their new head coach. And you know, they go and beat the chargers and they never trailed in that game. And so so there were some games that you kind of went, Whoa. And then lots of scoring around the league. And if you're a fantasy player, you guys know it was just scoring all over the place yesterday. Day day and I, we got two

of the same guys. I'm like, literally a good performance by who's the guy that's on Kansas City now. We get we both have the running back former Seattle Walker. Yeah, Walker. If Walker goes for like 20, I'm going to be at like 200 points. It's crazy in week one. Problem is it's again, you can't roll it over. No, you can't bank it. But I mean, I literally, I got monster performances by everybody yesterday. And Jackson Smith and Jigba going back to the first game of the season. But yeah, man, just a lot. Everybody had excitement and that bear's game was bananas. I have Caleb Williams. And he put on a show. He did. Everybody's got excitement and offense for us. Sick for us. I mean, it feels like we look shabby. Yeah, the, it's great point. The tick, the up tick for offense feels like it's moving, you know, and everybody else is moving that direction. Not us. Let's talk about what else went on around the NFL and get to fourth and one. Joe Burles back. Not injured 25 and 35, 254 touchdown. He did throw a pick, but the Bengals got three

turnovers early to really put it to the box. Box made it a game late 3327. Here's Burle. You know, there's a lot of attention around around week one, just because you know, there's so much anticipation around it. So going on again, win feels great. But we just got to keep it rolling. The reggae in the locker room up there, man. Yeah, man and Baker, a couple of mistakes yesterday, Mike strip, I mean, he got, he got after, they got after him. He made a couple of mistakes by not locking up the football. Meanwhile, you mentioned the bears got 59 to 37. Oh, forget about the 59. If Carolina comes in here and scores 37, we're going to have problems. We're going to have problems. It was an offensive explosion. And by the way, Ben Johnson has been saying they want to be the highest scoring team in league history. Here's what he said about it. Listen, that'll always be the goal is we want to be the highest scoring. We want to have the most wins. We want to win super balls. We want to, that's what that's what we did. We didn't get into this profession, trying to be trying to be mediocre average. And that's every NFL team. So that is what it is.

All right. So Bryce Young just to give your heads up, because we'll be talking about this all week as we figure out our quarterback situation, Mike, 361 3TBs against the bears. Hmm. Well, look, I mean, one of Michael Penex's best statistical games was the last game of the season in 2024. When he dueled with Bryce Young, we made him look like Joe Montana. Yeah. You know, it's Ulberg's defense, which is, it was, it was comical at times in that one. So, but that's, that's the reality guys. I mean, this is a guy that can sling it. We're going to need to get some more pressure, but we're going to have to score some points. I mean, they are going to have success against us. Caleb Rushford to through for two. Yeah. He was just, he was just one Superman stuff yesterday. And whatever we thought about the end of the last year, or you know, it makes that miraculous throwing the end zone. I've never seen anything like it. Get used to it. This guy makes those crazy plays, Mike, where you're like, there's nothing there. And he's running around and then he lets it go. And it's 50 yards down the field. His number's pretty impressive as well. 269 2 touchdowns. And he ran for 65 yards. So again, he's making it happen with his legs. I mean, just crazy, crazy fantasy stats last night as we said. I mean, Caleb believes,

guys, remember the first year, you know, he, they, they didn't do any favors by not bringing in the offensive coach with that first overall pick. And everything, you know, it's funny. No one gives a crap what color your fingernails are when you throw them for 300. Right. No, it's true. Guys, a rock star and he's going to be one all year Vikings defeat the Packers. Minnesota outscored them in the fourth quarter. 22 to nothing. The big story was no Kyler Murray, Carson Wentz comes in, takes things over. And, um, you know, Mike, when we talk about the Vikings, it's one of those deals where Green Bay made a critical decision to take a field goal off the board, wanted to go forward on fourth down. They don't get that fourth down. It's a failed opportunity. And a lot of people look at that and say, man, you would have taken control of the game. And instead, it felt like from that moment on, Minnesota, just a whole vibe changed. Jordan Love is a guy that his brand is, it's, I'm not saying it's, it's taking hits, but it's just, it's cool, right? It's cooled off. Speaking of which, you and I were just talking about Jaden Daniels, who lit the world on fire that first year. That was some injuries last year. And still, with all the weapons that they've added, still, it just doesn't click right now. I watch that commander's eagle.

So that was a national game on Fox yesterday. We bravey called it. And it was funny because I got stuff on digs in my fantasy league. As you know, then start them. But digs gets his big touchdown. It's now it's a two point game. The knucklehead goes and basically dry humps the, uh, the, the up the station, the goal post. And, uh, the rep throws the flag personal foul. And so now they have to kick a extended long extra point, took them out of the two point conversion range. The ball with a three. Same thing happened last night with the giants. Javante Williams basically, was you want this? You want this as he waltzes into the end zone, taunting the Giants DBs. They throw the, uh, the same thing taunting flag on him. And then the most accurate kicker, Aubrey's got it then try 48. Yard of Carl and he misses the extra point. So at the end of the day, the Giants were the class of the game. But still it just silly decisions, you know, and the reps are not going to let you get away with it. Jackson, dark head six and completion guys, six, 23, 29 for 230, three touchdowns last night. This was one of them. They fake the handoff to him. Dark Walsh right throws it to likely to the right. He dies for the goal line touchdown Giants. The likely second touchdown catch of the ball game. And on the opening

possession of the third quarter, the Giants methodically drive down the field and score their third touchdown in the game. The second touchdown pass for Jackson, dark. I think the other story, Mike was neighbors. Do you guys see this? He wasn't going to play a told his family. He wasn't going to play. I mean, there's multiple stories out there about Harball and, you know, whatever was said or done. And then he plays like I hate to bring it up. This is kind of what we're talking about with our guy. I know. You know, I know what is it going to take to get push you over and like, I'm going to play. I don't know. I don't know. Everybody's got their own theory. Inter toughness. I don't want to trigger anybody. Daydan, I'm not trying to trick you. I'm just saying everybody's got, you know, I don't know. I mean, out of it means more as we said, his circumstances, some people say are just so dynamic because it's the future of whatever is going to be in the NFL. He's not going to put bad stuff on tape. Okay. I let you let me know when he's ready. How about the Saints last night against the Alliance? See that one? Mike, it's scary to think

Tyler shook through for four hundred and ten yards in week one and they lost. So what we're telling you Falcon fans is look around. Bryce Young. Yeah, he lost, but there's teams court 37 points. There's not a team in the league that wouldn't take 37. You look at the Saints. Yeah, they lost in overtime. They scored 30 and they're quarter back through for 400 yards. This is our position right now in this division and Baker wasn't terrible in the game. They lost. He just turned over. He's heard him. We can't even say that. Tyler shook. They believed in him. That's why, you know, I mean, like, yes, he was drafted and yes, he went to a bigger school. But we'll get people talking about Jack Strand and some of the similarities. But last, yesterday afternoon late, New Orleans comes back, ties into 24. The Alliance methodically marched down the field. 70 yards, burn almost all the clock and overtime and then boom, boom, two minute drill, actually three minute drill, 10 plays 80 yard shook. Take some right down the field and they decide killing more to go for it. And unfortunately, they just get separation. He over throws on the on the fade, but Balsey, Balsey move. Yeah. And, and you know, look, the

picks, sometimes these picks can be deceiving. Like at the end of the half last night, when Dac Thos a pick, you know, with the Giants game and you're like, okay, that's not going to matter. And it did right. The Giants go back down and get points out of it. I just feel like some of these picks were shook might he was just trying to put it in there and make a play. And you can be mad at him. Like it's one of those deals where you go, oh, gunslinger mountain. Yeah. So it's going to be interesting. But they, it feels like the rest of the division is figured out their quarterback. We don't have one. Nope. Not yet. And by the way, CJ Stroud, just what I'm starting to say, yes, there he is. There is the guy. I had the Texans, by the way, I took a sombrero. You would have both took the sombrero. Yeah. Yeah. Well, Oregon screwed me. Nice showing up, Dan landing. I mean, that was fun. You thought again, first weeks of Fugazee, they'll come back. Everybody jumped. And by the way, never, ever again, if any, if three guys of this panel are all on the same pick, you, somebody's got to dump you all picked. We all took frickin' a glow. Oh, that's right. I remember laughing. It's K L A H O M A not okay. Yeah. Yeah. But anyway, since I bring up this, if you didn't see the Texans, because I had them less like getting a point

and a half with the bills, CJ Stroud marched them all the way down the field. They're in the red zone. They got time. The only thing you can't do is take, and he does. And he does. He does. The only things you can't do as far as taking sacks, you know, and losing, I mean, just eating the clock up. It's like CJ, you're killing me, man. You're killing. And I thought he was coming. That's just like, we want to talk college coming up next hour, but just like Sark and Arch needed that to shut up the critics. CJ needed that one yesterday. Very, very much so tonight, guys, we've got Monday night football Broncos at chiefs. I just told Mike Patrick, my homes will be wearing a knee brace. By the way, I guess a defense. It's he struggled against Denver. Still good. But Michael Pinnix is not worn a knee brace. He's not he's not right throughout the course. We've seen him. He's not been wearing a knee brace. Anyways, my home is going to play tonight. He's wearing a knee brace. We've got the game for your chiefs are two and a half point favorite at home. Undrafted left tackles starting for the chiefs. Orange is said in my ear. They still have offensive line issues. All right. We got plenty more to get to guys. But my home is tapping out though.

Wrong for that. Hey, man, the shanhan, it hurts our defensive line depth. We got updates on him, updates on Chris Lynch, as we continue our conversation. But when we come back, we'll find out what's on day days. My next. It is Monday. It's a Falcons Monday. We're talking about what went down on Sunday with the Falcons and the Steelers. Lots of interesting points of view from you guys. We'll continue to take plenty more of your phone calls. We're going to talk with Grant coming up in the five o'clock hour. It's the Braves handle business this weekend. Look, there are a lot of good things. It's just Sunday was like, oh, because of the damn game. But Braves have really, I think Mike put themselves in a really good spot when you talk about being five games up on the Phillies. You own the season series. The Philly had a chance to come in here and maybe do something. And, you know, you went two out of three. I thought Friday night, we took their heart Friday night. I thought we just took their heart, took it out of their chest and said, we own this. So we'll get grunts, opinion on where this goes. We only got about 12 games left, guys. And then it's going to

be playoff time. And the problem now is you are in that best of three because you're three games in the lost column behind the Dodgers to lock up that number two spot. So stay tuned on that. And we saw the Padres a couple years ago early on. So the Padres right now would be our matchup. Fair enough. All right. Plenty more on the Falcons right now. Let's find out what is on day days. My day day. What's happening, man? Hey, man, happy Monday. And we're going to actually get back to the Falcons. And if we have time after the Falcons conversation, I got a really funny, funny story for you guys, because they almost got me, I mean, they almost got me good. All right. A couple quick updates. Steve Balmer, Clippers say they're going to comply with the NBA. They accept the penalties. And it was announced today that the Kauaii-Lay Kauaii Leonard Trinner trade is officially complete. So we will go to Toronto. Georgia State, big win for them over Kennesaw State, 31-17. So a little love to the local teams. Team USA, women's basketball, they defeated France, 97-79, and win the FIBA World Cup championship. And yeah, that's it for your update. So now back

to the Falcons. They call these guys insiders because supposedly they know a little bit more sooner than we get to kind of find out, right? Well, in Rapp report had some very interesting things to say about our Falcons QB situation. Here's my understanding of the situation. The Los Angeles Rams knew that Miles Garrett had a knee injury, knew that he was working through it. Hold on, a little technical difficulty there. They'll get the right one. So while he's working on that, let me tell you how they almost got me. So Friday, you know, I wasn't with you guys. I was working from home technically, but I was working, you know, with you guys, but not with you guys. Sure. So in the midst of preparing, I get a phone call from a guy. He's like, is this Mr. Damien Lewis? And I'm like, yeah. And he's like, how you doing? This is chief. And I won't say the name because I don't want the real person to get upset. Yeah. But basically, this guy called me and saying he was a chief of or chief sheriff or something.

And basically was telling me that I had been issued a bench warrant because I missed court for jury duty. And I was like, what? You know, your name is Damien Lewis, right? And I'm like, yeah, he's like, yeah, we have, it says that you return here signed that you were in. I was like, dude, I don't remember ever getting anything, you know, about jury duty. I'm pretty, pretty, you know, I pretty stay on top of that. Yeah. I don't want to mess up with that. And he's breaking everything down to me. And so then he tell, and I'm like, what's your name again? And he tells me his name. So I go Google the guy. Yeah. And the face that pops up. And I'm listening to the guy talk. You know, Matt, and it don't mess. So he starts, he starts telling me stuff and he gets to the point where he's like, go because of this, you're going to have to pay these fines. And I'm like, for missing jury duty. So I said, what's your name again? And then he tells me I go, are you African-American? And he's like, sir, what does that have to do with anything? I was like, well, you sound like a brother.

And the guy I'm looking at on my computer. He don't look like no brother. So I hang on. We're taking, wait a, wait a, wait a pivot. I didn't call that guy today. All right. Here's the way. Great job. If you watch the news at six, whenever you get home, you always support old ladies. They always, and imagine how much money they make up for some poor old ladies. Well, the fine, he tried to tell me was like 2000, it would have been 2000. Oh my god. And I was like, for jury, and if you miss jury, you get another thing in the mail. Exactly. Before a sheriff shows up at your front door. Yeah. So I hear. Here's a big, I love man. You got to check them all out. Look at all our here's a beach on Rob. I mean, Ian Rapp report so much to get through for the Atlanta Falcons quarterback situation. So let's start with the Michael Panics part of it because it is pretty clear to me based on the people I've spoken with that. The Falcons would like Michael Panics to be their starting quarterback. When he is healthy,

when he is ready, and when he can do it. And from what I understand, the original time frame here was about week two or three, which makes sense. They did not put him on IR to start the season, believing that he could be back in that window. Seem at this point, we'll see that it might be a bit too early for Michael Panics. I know they'd like to get more information this week. But he just, he's got to work himself back. He's got to feel comfortable in being out there. So if he is not ready this week, which again, we'll see. Then it's a question of is it two or is it Cooper Rush? Two of suffered an oblique injury. It's an oblique strain. He's day to day. But generally for a throwing position, it's not usually one week. So if he can't go, then you see Cooper Rush out there again. Cooper Rush was fine. Certainly equited him so well, especially for someone who signed in July and is really a third string quarterback. But for your, and if you're the Atlanta Falken term, this is not what you, this is not what you want to start the season. Or at any point, going to your third stringer and saying, we're rolling it out there. Yeah. I mean, yeah.

Look, this timetable thing, it's become part of the, that we're going to be talking about this season for a long time to come. Whether we find a way to correct things and we're a playoff team, or this season is a gap year in Mike's terminology terminology. We're going to be talking about this timetable for a long time. Who was in charge of this damn timetable? Who was responsible? Because there's been so many mixed messages about Michael Pinnix's timetable, the Falken's timetable. And they let Michael talk. They let Michael do a lot of talk. I'm not saying it's a free country. You can say it every once. But in the past, the Falkens would never let a quarterback talk as much as Mike's going to have to say about this. And then, you know, we've got the outs or the insiders timetable, right? Right. With all of that said, that that's what we're all, I think this confusion has been for our listeners and Falken fans to say, Oh, well, I heard he was going to be ready. I got a can't tell how many people I've run into say, dude, so I thought he was going to be ready. That gets back to what Mike's been saying. We heard it from his mouth months ago. Right. That he would be ready.

Then the Falkens, well, he's not ready. And then to fansky, well, he'll be ready when he's ready. This timetable thing has been the craziest thing, I think, all off season. And we're going to continue to talk about it until, you know, he's on the field. And then even if he's on the field, things don't go right. You're going to be like, who's timetable are we on? And then it's going to be well, what's he ready to come back to? We make him come back. Like it's to your point, some are going to go in. And it doesn't help that you see Patrick Mahon's and Daniel Jones and, you know, guys coming back from similar injuries. Last year, it's a timeline. Malink neighbors was, he got a ball. And you heard Chris Collins were talking about like, Tori's knee up, but the whole mental part of it for him was just getting hit for the first time all over again. And referencing that. And I thought immediately about Pentex not being out there again. Hit. All right. You hear me, man? Oh, and please, you're going to trigger somebody. So yeah, I think all that he's not ready. It's his career on the line. See, that's, when I get these arguments, it's true. Yes, your career is on the line. The perception of you around the league, the perception of you in that building. It's go time show time. But let me, because we've

got a few minutes. So when you say that, right, you got to have, there's got to be some kind of, I get the impression that he's comfortable with his approach because, and I think you guys allowed him to be there. There's been conversation for him. And I'm not saying there is, but it comes off as he's comfortable with this approach because there's a clear understanding between all parties when he's ready. He's ready. Well, that's what that's what the fanski said. Now, I will say this day day when all of a sudden two ago, my back, all of a sudden, well, the everyone's going to freaking. He doesn't say my yeah, everyone's got a friggin plan, right? Right. Now that plan is going out the F and window. When you say, you know, when you say all parties, though, is this just the folks who are advising Michael pinnocks or is it all parties? That's the one thing that I would question. And the only reason I question a day day is because I feel like the Falcons really were leaving this in his hands and believed that he would be ready. I'm not going to tell you,

they got caught with their pants down because that would be a little bit unfair. But I do think they trusted the player in this whole equation. And I've said this, if they really talked to him and were in tune, they would have known all of this. Don't you think? Yeah. And I wonder if maybe they'd just going off of what the quarterback is saying. Yeah. They would in my opinion, they would have been leading this conversation. We've talked with Michael. We know exactly where is that. Here's what we expect. This is kind of where we're going with this. Well, that's what's the fanciest says. That's what he said. He said that. Pinnix has said it. Well, I wonder if Pinnix to what Mike's point earlier maybe Pinnix spoke too soon. Maybe he thought he'd be cleared sooner than he was cleared. Yeah. And maybe that's where now this is and maybe once the Falcons realize that he's not going to be clear in the time that we would technically need him to be cleared by in order for him to even truly compete to be the star week one. One thing for certain, the Falcons, I mean, you could say this with a degree of certainty. Now this is up in the air. They didn't put him on

the public. I mean, the IR, I should say. Yeah. And then you know, you're out for the first quarter, you should be quarter, but four games of the season. So the perception to the soundbite from Rappaport is, okay, certainly by week three, he's back because right. Yeah. That's, I mean, so now it's not a relationship. But they've left. But if they've, you and I said, every time Mike spoke at Camp this year, I can't tell you the reaction around the meteorome. Carl and I, everyone's, you know what I'm saying? I was raised. Okay. So I was like blown away. I mean, no, it's great to get this information. But it's like in the past, they've, they've never allowed a quarterback over anything. Just talk about the so that gets us back to what I just said. Day one, when Pinnick spoke, he said, guys, I'm going to be about four weeks before I get cleared. Everybody lost their mind. Yeah. The Falcons weren't leading that conversation. If they were truly in tune to what was going on, they would have said, because Kevin's the Fancy spoke before he did. He could have easily said, guys, we know it's going to be four additional weeks. Michael speak to you guys later on. He didn't. That's what I'm talking about. So those kinds of things make me wonder when you say all parties involved,

has it been the true, true case? It just, by the way, I do not know. Yeah, right. I'm just saying, that's the suspicious part to me. No, no, no, that's completely, I completely understand it. Just like I said, the way he, the way he's handling it from his side, he just gives off the, the impersonation that like, you know, I mean, the impression, I'm sorry, that everything that's been talked about between him and the Falcons, they're all on the same page. So we'll see. That's what some of my guys outside of the guy that was trying to, you know, scam me out of two grand. Good play that. Well, wait, well, played, man. Yeah, I just feel sorry for old ladies and stuff. You know, old people get that because they would have definitely fell for that. You know, low bonding citizen, you freak out, next to you know, some clashes. Well, here's the other thing to say you needed to send money. Is that what the deal? Well, that's so here's how you try to get me. He was like, he was like, you're going to have to come down to the, you know, to the facility, whatever to pay, right? And I was like, I can't make it. I'm literally about to go to work. He was like, okay, well, and, you know, what we'll have to do is, and then that's when he hit me with the spiel about, you know,

in order to, because he was like, you know, because if you get pulled over over the weekend, they can take you in, but we can put a pause on all that. You'll just have to send, you know, pay these fines. But here's the thing though. When he gave me the address to the sheriff's office, I'm doing the quotes for those I can see me on the, he gives me the office and I'm like, bro, that's the actual jail. I was like, so, meet me outside in the parking lot. We'll do a quick demo. And you'll be all good. So yeah, man, crazy, crazy, day day good stuff. Yeah, he had to do script to. That's what he did right there. He flipped it. All right, man, we're coming back. A lot of reaction by the way that segment. We got a lot of text line, a lot of people commented on what we just talked about. Well, I'm just saying everybody wants to assume that they, they, everybody, all these parties know. I'm just telling you, it's very suspicious to me how this all has played out. And if everybody was really in on what they need to be in on, all right, we're coming back. Dog report. Yes, they handled business, but the game of the weekend turned out to be just that the game of the weekend. We'll talk about it and more of your phone calls on the
