State Senator Julie Gonzales appears to be leading the pack in the Democratic Party primary for U.S. Senate in Colorado. She has a solid lead in party preference polls conducted at local party assemblies.
The State Assembly is this weekend (March 28). Incumbent Senator Hickenlooper has dropped out of the caucus process after securing enough signatures to get on the ballot. If he had stayed in the caucus and not received at least 10% of the coming vote, his petitions would not have qualified for him for the ballot.
