1:04Much by Lockdown Reds and the Lockdown Podcast Network, your team every day. My name is Tim Daniel. I'm a live clone Reds fan and my second season here at Lockdown covering the Reds. And later on tonight, you're working on Well, Ellie De La Cruz continuing to put together strong performances. And just a few minutes, we're going to have about 80 heinous sorrows in Juan Brito, both putting their stamp on the game with some homers. But we're going to start the show and unfortunately discussing the fact that the Reds pitching, particularly the top two guys tonight were terrible. This is what you'll be talking about. So the Reds and I give up 20 runs tonight, thankfully. They also put nine of it their own. And most nights when you have nine runs, you should win baseball games, correct? Not so much in the case of the Cincinnati Reds when you're battling from behind and trying to make up some ground in that same game. And that's what this theme up tonight's game was. So we start here. Obviously, we know how this goes in the reds by the Brewers. They're outmatched immediately. They somehow want to see us against them last week. So don't get it first day in the booth, put four runs on the board.

2:07So you're thinking that this is going to be one of those days, right? The way things been going, Bryce Turengos, Deeper to run Homer and Garrett Mitchell later on the same end and goes to run Homer, Reds are already in a hole. That's how it goes. But then the top of the second Geno gets them on the board of the Homer. We'll talk about that here in a little bit. Ellie has a really nice double down the line that brings in Dan Myers makes it four two and you're thinking the rest have a shot at this. Cooper Pratt then gets a single, Gigi Bode gets a double that brings in Geno to make it five to three and one brief toe goes deep to make it five five. And from there, you're thinking the rest of a shot at this, the Brewers poured on. But let's kind of go through before we get into that all the deep dive of the offense and all that jazz. I want to kind of go first and talk about the two pictures here. We're going to start with Brady Singer. Now, this conversation has been going around a lot since the trade deadline that Brady Singer is going to be offered the qualifying offer and he's going to be a red for a while. And they they're planning on offering him 23 mil and they're glad they didn't trade up the deadline because the young pitchers really needed them.

3:09That's all a bunch of Gibroni. Brady Singer was really bad tonight. And he's been really bad for a while. So tonight he goes four rings with eight earned runs, five walks. He had though five endings and he had five walks. That's awful. His last seven games, he's got a 754 ERA in 37 endings with a 1.78 whip in that time from he's walked 20, I mean, 17 batters. He's giving up on, he has 28 strikeouts, but it's not 137 endings. I don't know what the reds think they're going to get from Brady Singer. And look, the starting pitching went didn't go the way any of us are going to go this year, right? Unless your name was chase burns, you were disappointing in some way shape or form, whether it was as the fact you couldn't see on the mount or when you were on the mount, you were disappointing or you kind of said really bad outings. We talked about Andrew Abbott just the other day, Rhett louder the other day. So in the last three games, the reds have given up double digit runs and all three of those games.

4:10I get to the end of the year. But that's a little disappointing to see, right? I mean, you want to see these guys go out and fight, right? And luckily, fought tonight. I mean, I'm not taking away from anything they did offensively. I thought they offensively that they were a fun baseball team to watch tonight, which is why we're going to two segments about it. But just to let us see those two guys and singer and ashcraft do what they did tonight was. Heron isn't like you can give, you can give ashcraft a little bit more of the benefit of the doubt, right? It's what is third start, third pitching appearance, bad things they got back, but I don't think they should have ever put him back. You could tell it was a thing where it was like, it didn't seem promising to have him pitch again. And I know he has a couple of nice hallys and lovel on rehab as an opener and so on and so forth. But I don't think this was worth it. And I think if you ask Graham Ashcraft, he wouldn't say that that was worth it either. He probably would because he's a competitor, but that, that's brutal. So Graham Ashcraft tonight gets a third of an inning, not an inning, a third of an inning.

5:18Five earned runs, six hits, a walk and a strikeout. Now look, I get it's the brewers over there and the birds are really good. But that's horrendous. So yeah, he's been back. He said three outings to get in the essence. He came back. He's gone two and a third in those guys tonight. He's going to have six runs in those. He's going to eight hits, three walks and has three strikeouts. That's not going to fly for good pitching teams or major league teams in general, but for the rest, it's just fine. Those two guys, unbelievable. The fact that they got this forward. And then from there, he gets better, right? Pure shots and pitches of Graham Ashcraft's ending gets less to outs. 20 cents a good assault of perfect ending. TG Antone then throws a perfect ending and he moved the gun. Throw the perfect ending. And mainly because he just needed to get a couple, get some pitches in there, right?

6:19He was obviously was not a safe opportunity. It was a situation where the reds are like, you probably need to just keep your arm loose. And so, no, no, it's pretty brutal. Ronnie says the reds are to cleave them brown to the MLB. I wouldn't go that far, Ronnie. I wouldn't go that far because the browns at least have a good defense. But yeah, it's, uh, it's not very good right now to be a reds fan as we kind of are getting to the end of the 20, 20, 26 season. But there was some fun tonight. Let's talk about the some of the fun things. It's time to reveal who made the biggest under the radar impact with today's X factor. Let's talk about our guy, Juan Brito. Juan Brito tonight gets another Homer. Now, those who know me know I also covered the Cleveland Cavaliers here with locked on sports. So my co-host over at the Cav Squad show Danny Cunningham, the Daily Host locked on Cavs. I reached out to him because he's a diehard guardians fan. And I said, why didn't you tell me that Juan Brito was fun?

7:20He goes because he's not all these younger guys leave the guardians brought up are so much better than him. And I said, well, he's been a blast for the reds. So tonight when he hits the Homer on the ties to game by tech standing the club of the Homer and got a bunch of laughing face and mochi's back. We're a Brito gang over here. We know how it is. So Juan Brito tonight. Three for four Homer. Man, he's been fun. Three runs batted in. I don't know if I should really be believing him as much as I am because he's, but he's just been a blast. And like all the negativity that's gone around the team last few weeks, he's been fun. He's been super fun. Johnny says, I think I'll be working for the group in the plus I will to. Yeah, I will to. I'm normally not like root for your division guy, but in this case, I am root for small market team guy for sure. So that was really cool to see him do that. So he's been really solid since he came back to the reds. Well, since he came to the reds from the trade and got called up.

8:20We pull up his numbers here real quick. So he's, I mean, yeah, you like since he's been called up with the reds, he's got a three 69 batting average of 409 on base. And the 737 slugging two home runs eight runs batted in two walks seven hits and five runs scored. Now, you know on this extended sample size, this number is aren't going to look that good, right? That's fine. But when you get kind of this stuff, they're like, it just makes you feel it enjoys something, right? And tonight was a season that the tonight was a night. It was a bummer, right? They lost they give up 13 runs, but the offense was good tonight. And unfortunately, they couldn't get any pictures to get anybody out in time. And they also couldn't find a way to just put runs together consistently to just over extended endings. They just kind of like, I don't know, defense was so so tonight. Dame Myers says that one error. But it was it was a it was a little bit of a bummer there, but I thought the offensive super fun. And let's talk real quick, but our man, Gina sores because he was fantastic tonight. This is the lock down player of the game.

9:23Gina sores tonight, another guy who goes three for four. As he gets a homer, two runs battled in a walk scored three times tonight. And another guy who's been playing really well lately. So the last seven solid to three or four, four, 487, 39, three homers, six RBI, six walks. I mean, that's like above and beyond. If you go down like to his last 15, it's still really good. 264 or 3580 in that time frame five homers 14 runs battled in. And if you go to your last 30, you're getting exactly what you wanted when you signed a new hit your sores back to the team. 242, 383, 537, slugging with eight home runs 24 runs battled in a 19 walk in that time frame. That's the guy you thought you were signing. And they obviously didn't get that throughout the year. But I'm completely content with him ending on a high note. And just like it over the way Ellie's swinging the bat of late on a high note as well.

10:26It's just kind of interesting to see how it's all planning out. So maybe it's a they can play more loose now because the expectations have dropped up their shoulders. I don't know. I'm not a psychologist, but it's a matter. But I do like to see Gina out there performing well. And I've said this a lot this year. I would like to see him be back on the baseball club in 27, whenever the season starts. See if he can kind of pick up this momentum next season. That he's ending this year with. So we'll see. But we're going to take a break and we come back. We're going to talk about everyone's favorite reds player, Ellie daily crews. Now I know he didn't necessarily have his best day on Friday when no one the team did because one guy on the team had two hits for them and they lost 20 to nothing. But, LED kind of goes right back out there. Tonight puts yesterday's game behind him and just play us two for five tonight has a double as an RBI. Keeps swinging the bat really well. Not more much more you can add from here. So obviously, but just did just the other guys. Ellie's slash line is last three games is insanity. It's MVP like numbers. 322 394 559. Six home runs. 15 RBI 14 walks. 22 runs scored and that's only with 118 at bats.

13:33I should not, Jeff and Steven, I'll be talking about this all the time. We should not have to be defending this guy. I'm sure it's pretty good. He is. And the way that people are starting to find ways to not enjoy watching him play baseball for the Reds is becoming mental gymnastics. It really is. Like I don't know what more you can want from a guy like this and it's definitely getting quieter. I'm not trying to say this is everybody. But guys, this guy is unbelievable and you can always find ways to be negative about it. Right. I saw Scott Borsus comments about like, you know, we don't have any issue waiting. They used to stake metaphor or whatever that was. I get it. You know, I certainly understand that. But you also have to think about this whole issue of like, well, well, if he's not going to be here, they should trade him. That doesn't make them better. Now when we get to that arbitration year, if there's nothing on the table and the seasons going bad and they don't have a chance to win the World Series, yeah, you could open that conversation back up. But nights like tonight where you're just kind of see like how special a talent he is.

14:33And I saw Joey Votto has been really active on socials this week. Just like you normally is, but talking about how special a talent LE is in the sense he's like telling Cobb Sands like, you guys can have PCA now, but the moving forward will take our five tool guy. And I love that, by the way, I think every organization needs to have people like that who go for the good to go to bat for their boys. And the fact that Joey who played with Ellie mind you for a very short time has these feelings about it is pretty cool. I thought that was really promising. And Joey, I thought that was super cool if it was like the last consistently great red tater now to talk to the next one. And we'll see if Sal Stewart fits in that list as well. I know he's kind of slump in Johnny says you hear that Sal looks like he's running out of gas in seasons and he is. He definitely is. And that's as we expect it. The rookie walls, I don't think as much of a metaphor as we all think it is. And so we're starting to see him kind of hit that wall there, but it's had an unreal season. So that's that's the part that's really fun. But I don't know.

15:33Next year's going to be really dynamic and interesting in the sense of like, you know, like Dave says here, what about Mr. Schier's back? What does Sal Stewart look like? Jay Ghibli day knows going to be back. What is Matt McClain finally like? It consists of Tyler Stevenson of the team next year. We're going to have a lot of questions that we're going to have to go through and answer. But that's unfortunately we still got some more baseball to play. Not a whole lot though, but the Reds do lose tonight to the Milwaukee Brewer 13 to 9. The Brewers have 13 runs on 14 hits and zero errors. The Reds have nine runs on 14 hits and an error. Your winning pitcher tonight for the Brewers is Chad Patrick. He has 9 and 4, the 3.2 ERA. Brady Singer takes the loss. He's now 6 and 14 with a 5.38 or ERA. And the Reds will try to avoid getting swept tomorrow. But I don't think anyone's really going to care because tomorrow's the week one of the NFL season. And Chase Burns is on the hill. He's going to pitch probably 40 pitches. Burns takes the help of the Reds. He's 15 and through the 273 ERA. The Burns have not yet announced who's starting the game. But first pitch will be at 210. I will be here tomorrow's full on moving days.

16:35So tomorrow's probably the last day I'll be sitting on my lap on my knees in my room talking to the camera like this. Hopefully we'll have like Ray Real set up by then.
