Lawmakers are playing down hopes for quick relief on costs back home. These events spotlight the Alaska liquefied natural gas project, led by the Glenfarn group with a 75% stake. It aims to pipe gas from the North Slope to South Central Alaska for export. Glenfarn spokesperson says this proves Alaska's edge as the only U.S. source with direct Pacific access dodging risky waters.
