It is hashtag tag time at around seven, 20 on Wednesday mornings. We like to give you a chance to add your hashtag. It's like radio Reddit. We just throw out a tag and you add to the thread. Hashtag pretend to be rich. So what do people do that screams to you that they're pretending to be rich? 6-0-1 9-9-5-101-7? I love this one from the internet that says when we travel, we see loads of influencers who pay by the hour to access high end hotel complexes to get their photos by the pool or the bar. They'll change outfits 20 plus times in an hour for different pictures. I can only assume it so they can pretend online like they've been staying there for a week. 6-0-1 9-9-5-101-7? Shonda jumping in on this, talking about prices. I was always told new money jingles and old money folds. Have you ever heard that before? That's interesting. See, I'd always heard old money whispers. Hashtag pretend to be rich.
6-0-1 9-9-5-101-7? Ridge ads, taking pictures of people's expensive sports cars are standing by them and posting it like it's theirs, but they know it's not. Hashtag pretend to be rich. This one, because ever since I moved out of my parents' house, I've always lived in apartments because I mean, that's what I can afford. And anytime I'm living in an apartment and I see somebody with a real expensive looking car, it's like, what are you doing? Hashtag pretend to be rich. It's like, we're on the same level. Like, we're both living here, man. Like, whether it's the cheapest okay apartment I could find. You don't need to have an expensive car. Jackie's is great. She says, people who literally buy doops of stuff and try to pass it off like the real thing or buy expensive things. They can't afford and then can't afford to get groceries or gas in their car. Hashtag pretend to be rich. Like, yeah, this new $60 Stanley Cup, I need that.
Yeah, but also now I can't afford groceries. Right, well, I mean, we're all broken at different level, I guess. All right, what else you got? 6-0-1 9-9-5-101-7? Hashtag pretend to be rich. James says, bragging about their kids going to private school even though it's the cheapest one. Oh, you went to public school just like us. You ain't special. Hashtag pretend to be rich. That is a weird thing people acting like they're special for going to private school. Yeah, bragging about it feels weird. 6-0-1 9-9-5-101-7. Katty has another one. She says people who buy expensive clothes for an event to wear one time and then they keep the tags on so they can return them when they're done. Hashtag pretend to be rich. You've never done that? No. I mean, definitely not me either, but I'm not one to really try to impress people with my fashion. One of my babysitters, whenever I was growing up, though, absolutely did that.
She absolutely pretended to be rich. She took me to the mall many a time where she was returning an outfit and then she had kept the tags on from to wear two and a vending. See, here's my thing with that. I wouldn't even know. I wouldn't be able to spot an expensive outfit. Oh, wow. It wouldn't, like, $5 dress and target, $3,000 dress from wherever I would not know the difference. I remember she got put on a list. I think it was at Macy's because she had done too many returns. Oh, wow. And then she wasn't allowed to. Yeah, I was there for all of it. It was great. Nicky says when a person brags about having a fancy car, like I knew this person who had a jaguar just to come out, just to find out he was leasing it. Hashtag pretend to be rich. Oh, my gosh. That makes me think of somebody that we used to know who got like a fancy Cadillac and then it got repossessed at the radio station. Oh, was that the one, the former warning show of the station that we worked at for a minute? Yes, I do remember.
Hashtag pretend to be rich. Yeah, not a good look. I don't even think he'd like stole it from Enterprise allegedly. No! I didn't know that! Yeah, because the station's text line was getting text from like Enterprise like wanting their car back. Yeah. Yeah, they reported it stolen. I forgot all about that. Oh, my gosh. That's hilarious. Hashtag pretend to be rich. Hashtag pretend to be rich. Hashtag pretend to be rich. Is that a white couches more expensive? Why, I think because they stain easily. Oh, okay. That has to be, I don't know, if you could explain Tiffany and then Kate's designer handbags when the rest of the outfit looks like it's from Sheen. Hashtag pretend to be rich. Hashtag pretend to be rich. Designer handbags, another thing that I'm not going to be able to tell a difference. Like, go ahead and get the knock off. I don't care. I would never be able to tell the difference. No, that's one that drives me nuts. It's like, I don't care what kind of purse you have.
But if I can tell that that's clearly a fake Louis Vuitton, why are you so obsessed with people thinking that you have a Louis Vuitton? I don't get it. Hashtag pretend.
