All right, boys. Looking like a funeral into the fourth quarter. Texas makes the comeback, man. Oh, baby. Initial thoughts as we're all trying to process right now. There's a lot of guys in game threads right now, deleting posts. Yep. Seriously. Yep. I went away.
Never did he stand again. I was. I mean, we stole one, but we're not giving it back. And we stole it fairly. You got to lock your stuff up. You got to lock it up. We'll take it. Yeah. As hard as you could play for three quarters. Oh, my goodness. As bad as you could play. And look like happy. Yeah. God is my witness. It looks like we. It looked like we bet on the game and not on us. Yeah. Dude, that. That. That first quarter. I wasn't even mad in the first quarter because it was so absurd that I was like, you can't even write this. Someone said if you were trying to film a movie where Cam Coleman had to give that interception, you wouldn't be able to do it. Like he was like, you. You could try 30 takes. You wouldn't be able to read. I realize like no, no. Oh, my God, man. I mean, we got dominated for three quarters. And then we utterly dominated the fourth quarter. And then we got to get to the end of the game.
Yeah. Yeah. That's the game. Yeah. That's the game. And we get to win it. That's nice. First of all, it's kind of. Our turn this horns today. Like this is like the arch moment. You know, like we had like the VY moments like the Oklahoma State game where. I mean, yeah, like every quarter of a quarter of a cast or a moment. This was arch's moment. It's the most arch game possible because his box or is atrocious. Yeah. I mean, you know, you just made a bunch of plays and won the game. Yeah. Oh, my God. He actually, well, he got to 62. It is. Or just a process of it. Heart rate. Crazy. I'm pumping right here. I got. I'm still processing two, man. Like I'm trying to, he got up into 62%. He was in the 50s. The whole game. You know, when I actually felt good, you see that shot where arch just like winks at the sideline. Yeah. They shut that and I was like, okay, well, maybe because I thought it was going to be this cruel thing where. Texas pulls right back. And yeah, here's some hope. But for Sark to have to finish in the red zone on interior runs. To one dude,
that's like a movie script because that's what he could never do. Oh, I don't know if I grew up. I thought Sark was in his bag for most of the night. So I didn't think so. I called it color to. I know that. The game. The group was a little different. Yeah, I thought he was going to the bag the entire night. I thought that maybe you want to lean a little more on the run in the first half. But given the game circumstance of the game, I think it's going to be a little different. I thought it was going to be a little different. I thought it was going to be a little different. I thought maybe this is a really great creative idea. I mean, you started opening up in March and you see too many teams doing what you Pittsburgh wins the game manager, so I posted two plays that. And there's been quite a few, you know, build that battle and. That's beyond my eyes. That's really kind of. But there's also a bit of a changes too. URE GURMAN'S We had that a lot of things at Carolina city of Now you're telling me that you would have some proof that you would have been thinking about what happened to your route because they are. Well, one of the challenges we had until we shot a little while ago. We were just playing, you know, his back and forth. This will build enormous confidence in this team. No. Yeah, it's a springboard. It's absolutely a springboard.
It's absolutely imperative that we build off this and we can. Because Sark has a bunch of tape to show these guys. This is what you do when you execute. This is what we look like. And now I'm going to show you what you look like when you don't execute. It's the same game. And in one of these games, your national champions potentially in one of these scenarios. And the other, you're going eight and four and everyone's going to make fun of you all season. Right. Yeah, exactly. Which can you want to be? Yeah. Which I was, you, dude, I dread those, those big games where we have to get on the live for an hour and just be like, yeah, we're unable to do it. I thought we were having to do another one of those, man. It felt like it felt like 2022, TCU. Yeah, it felt like 2000, yeah, Georgia, right? Yeah. Very similar virus. Horn, hornation is just there. Everyone's like, people who are at the stadium are like, I've never seen it. Like, this is incredible.
Like, and then if you lay an egg again, it just reaches a point where Texas fan is like, you know what? I can find something better with my $1,400 bucks. Yeah. Yeah. You know, oh my God, what do you get? I know a few people that left late third quarter and I was like, you know, I would never do that, but damn, you know, I know in the high six 2020, but I would I know what their thought process is. Did you pay all that money and miss that comeback, dude? Has to be the devastating. You started here the first fireworks go off as you're like, almost to the car and you're like, okay, one score. They turn on the radio. You hear the next door and all of a sudden it's like, ah, dude, that was a great deal. That was absolutely wild. Quentin told you Nina, walk them down. He told me, he told me at halftime, I was like, I'm not home. I was like, we playing the first half. Wait, wait, we're going to send me your crystal ball. Yeah. He told me what if Quentin was like, we were going to play horrible for three quarters.
And then at the very end, we were going to show up, man. That was absolutely wild, man. All right. I'm going to drive, man. Oh, I'm going to drive. On those two drives, you know what I mean? After the second one, it was like, all right, you know what I mean? Maybe it starts to feel a little bit, I like destiny. Not being that cliche or cheesy, but then the guy misses a field goal after they, you know, seemingly pretty seemingly easily get down the field and get themselves in good shape. It's like, all right, how do good feeling? Just felt like, you know, hey, the way the momentum was as comfortable as archibin, like the ground game was there. I felt good. I felt the same. The offense wasn't, the offense wasn't completely destroying themselves with dumb mistakes. Like the offense looked good. That's why we had people on their matted sark. And I'm like, King number one, sark hater of sark offense. You know, I'm always bitching about his offense. Even I was on Twitter. I'm like, guys, it's not his offense this game. Like we Coleman, if our Twitter hit him and stride, that was a walk in. He had won that route. And then we can go drops it.
So I'm like, guys, this is rare, rare instance where I'm like, this has nothing to do with sark's play calling. I was a cussion was messed up early on in offense, but sark called a good game. And because he calls like, you know, the wingo in reversal and does it. It's like, you're going to have a one or two bad calls. I'm not grading you on that. So it's like, I thought sark called the game incredibly well. And then especially at the end, man. And the mostly, mostly kind of took over at the end too, which was pretty neat. I said five for seventy. I got five for sixty seven. Yeah. I mean, there's a lot of thoughts about this game. I think they got gassed. Clearly, towards the end. They got gassed, which is, I understand why. I mean, they just played a bunch of snaps and had to stay out on the field. We kept bringing it to fourth down purposely to tire them out. That's what we're going. How smart is that? Yeah. It's a big brain right there. Sorry. Sorry. I'm going to have to go in the car.
Yeah. We're thinking we want to get first down. Sark's, you know, playing chess. We're playing checkers. But I think Sark's. Or I mean, look, here's what happened. Relic Brown loses his mind on the first play of the game. It doesn't cut inside and gain a he cuts outside and runs at the back of his blockers. Yeah. He fumbles. They get a feel go out of it. Okay. We're alive. Sark dials up a strike kill shot for a touchdown. Not an easy throw. I know Desmond Howard on the, on the half was like, I would just throw it so he could catch it and run. I'm like, okay, Desmond, but, you know, but that was a fluke interception. I mean, you go from at least a 50 yard gain to an interception, right? Then we give up a drive, a real drive. Like Ohio State just drove us. And you're starting to think like, okay, like I know how this is going to go. Unfortunately, this is not our day. So when those things are happening and then Wingo drops a wide open touchdown, a touchdown that pop Warner kids make every Saturday at six.
Right. At that point, Sark, that reverse call to Wingo, I think he's like, oh, and by that before that, Relic Brown running out of bounds, because he thought the car is either. Rather than getting a first down. Yeah. So not great there. I think Sark was just pressing like I need to make something happen. Yeah. And that's when you call dumb plays. I agree. Yep. He wanted to try too hard for a big play back fired. Yeah. Yeah. Even like I still feel like it was there arch was overthrown to his left and right for that whole like middle thing to. I thought arch was just not seen it well for till the fourth quarter, man. Like I think the all 22 will be pretty illuminating because there's even when they would show you kind of this guy cast occasionally like, man, that intermediate route is coming open. Like it's it's there, but arch finds it. Man at the very end to the like after you got really rocked on that left sideline, you know, like someone in the group chat said, you know, I was about to say that. I was about to say that he doesn't start playing hard until he gets not, you know, I think he's hit one good time. And it's like he wakes up.
He's like that. Now here. All you probably. So as we're boring in this game, I would be remiss if I didn't say. Thank God for Hollywood smothers. Oh, yeah, he's running back one. It's not even close dude, but credit credit relief man towards the end. He started running hard on the end here. A good one to trade off. Absolutely. I mean, you're worried about his mentality, right? Like the last game he kept trying to go outside and you're like, well, he should fix that. And he blows it early on. And then by the end of it, you're like, okay, he can read. He can get his mind right in game, right? I would not worry about relief grounds mentality. I don't think I think that was a triumph of an uncluttered mind. Here you go. I think that's the nicest way I could say it. I don't I think he gets some bull four times in a row. And he's like, I'm going to house the next one. Yeah, I think I honestly, that's probably a great trait, but he didn't get down on herself. And he was running hard man. And so shout out to him, but smothers. Absolutely man. Well, when we got him, you remember Connor? You and I were both independently.
I was like, he's got great yards after contact. Like he's got contact balance apparently. And I was like, is this an ACC thing? Like he's like shrugging off dudes from wake and Duke. And you went into some other stats were like, yeah, this is like remarkable. Like this is the best in the country. Yeah, no, it translates. Yeah, he's a smart runner too, man. And he has even more short area quickness than I realized. Even on the tape versus NC state, I mean, you know he's quick. He's a smaller back. But some of the stuff he's done just watching from the side by angle at Texas. His acceleration has impressed me a lot too, man. But often so when I hear how the box score lies. Yeah, I think he ended up with three and a half. Yeah, 21 for 74 to touchdowns. Relic 10 for 54. If you're a box score guy, you'd be like, we're weak brown needs more carries. Right? How was that? It's a smothered man. That was a box score. Lie game.
I mean, I'm. That was awesome win, man. We need the all 22, man, but I thought the offensive line did a good job, man. Yeah, you watched him. I watch him in all 22. Paul watches them like on the broadcast. So, but it just felt like they had a good game. Did you guys see much of Lord Seymour? Because I saw a lot of sikorsky. No, I saw the course of the whole game. I think he's more much is our left yard. I think he did a good job playing. I mean, well, he played well. A lot of it. Arches so much time. It was almost like he didn't know what to do. It was. I know. He was like, what do I do? I've got five seconds. You know, I feel like Patricia had a winning game plan. Yeah. But we short circuited it with like footballerness. Yeah. I mean, and just kind of wearing them out. I thought they're like the fans, including me. They're like, they're not going to come back. Yeah. That's how they felt. You know, like, because the first time we scored and kind of got back into it, it felt like they were like, okay, having a nice drive.
You know, we're going to come back and answer. And then it got a little bit more real. And then it got very more. So it's like, I don't think they saw that coming either. I do think they will to because there was that one point where I just looked at their D line. And I was like, Oh, wait, it happened fast, man. And like happened between drives, where it was like, Oh, they don't have it anymore. And it's funny. Dude, if you go back and watch the pregame. I was so wrong on like six different things. One of them landed was like, man, should we try to use the heat to our advantage? I'm like, that's not really a good game plan. And then, and then they did that. And I was like, Hey, this is not, and I said Ohio State's not the Jeremiah Smiths. And then they were the Jeremiah Smiths today. So, man, I just could not get a read on this game all week, man. Even in pregame. And so that was the exciting part because I was just missing left and right on analysis all the way. The funniest, the funniest thing about a Connor is my final prediction was 2724, as was yours. Yeah, exactly. We're like nailed it. Right? I actually got, I don't know how I got close to the score. But my process was nowhere near correct.
So to your point, guys about the conditioning and the fourth quarter and the heat and all that. And just the unrelenting aspect of Texas is offense in the fourth quarter. We ran 78 plays. Yeah. And I think we probably ran 30 in the fourth quarter. Yeah. Yeah. Not aware on you, dude. That's a lot. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Was that, was that in the second quarter? I can't, we had a 16 yarder. We didn't even score on our 16 drive. Then we took the third three. I think that's what I was talking about. So yeah, even going back a little bit earlier in the game, you know, that, I mean, in that moment, I was like, Hey, does that, does that factor in later? Luckily, you got a few stops here in the second, and then started the second half because it's not like the offense came out like lighting it up, you know, but after that first four down conversion, it just felt like in the arc. It's a lot more comfortable. I mean, what do you, what do you all think about, you know, Texas is a game plan from an offense standpoint? Like, I think I had a wrong too. I told you I would lean 11 perks.
And I think I underestimated how, I mean, Spencer Shannon was awesome on the exterior today. He would. Yeah. And going forward. I mean, that gives me so much more confidence. Not just in the offense of line, the tight end, 12 personnel, just like the, the upside of this, this offense in general, because they're going to start. Landing some of those play action shots sometimes because in the past Texas signs up on second and 10 and runs a single back play fake or some I'm sure defensive coordinators are like. Ignore it completely ignore the play fake. You don't have to respect this. They might pick up three or four yards. If a guy makes somebody makes a guy for me back missed somebody miss. Rarely are they getting to like the second level. That's how I would have approached it at least now that you have to respect that in between the tackles and then obviously the edge because you saw you know they're going to use rally caught the edge. You're going to use Hollywood both off the edge. So it's not like it's one guy can do one of the other and the other one can't. I think they compliment each other really, really well. But would you have learned a little heavier on the run there in that first half or. Yeah, we're doing. God came cold. I'd open on a touchdown and got Ryan Wingo.
I know that's something like I'm like to you. Cirque's game. He called the execution was the issue, but like we should have had 17 on the board very early. Yeah. So I don't have any like nitpick like it is a course one or two plays are going to piss you off with every coordinator, but that's not a way to evaluate though. I think so. We ran the ball 41 times. 37 to pass attempts now. Obviously we didn't we. Some of the runs are archmaning sacks or him scrambling. So we had more. We were about 50 50 and I thought Stark was kind of stubborn with the run in a good way. So especially late in the game when you know, I got to say the misfield goal. I was huge part of the game. Yeah. And I was really upset in the chat because with about 10 11 minutes, we were kind of slow on offense. And I thought we were going to need extra possessions at the end.
And had he hit that field goal, all of our heroics at the end wouldn't have mattered because we would have we've forfeited about three minutes of clock that could have been our final possession, even if they'd hit that field goal, right. So, but you know what we cut it to the very edge and it the guy must feel goal. But I did like that we were a little stubborn with the run and that late run with a leak brown. The late run with Hollywood's down there. Yeah. Those are tough runs and you could see Ohio State was windy like. Yeah. Well, you mentioned the parallels to 2005 and not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but a lot of people forget Ohio State could have put Vincent in a way. But I think it was like a 50 yarder that sailed right just a little bit and exosied the game when and drive to go ahead to take the lead there. And so again, not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but just making your point like it's eerily similar other than just, you know, somebody had a complete big comeback tonight. Yeah, before we keep going, wait, are you can finish your tie here? I just can say a great thing and we can talk about this after the break or the Adry is in the CFP world beating someone good is not only important for what it does for your resume.
It's what go Ohio State goes on to beat. Yep. And we just saw Oregon get their ass beat by Oklahoma State and still water. Yeah, I think Ohio State's going to go win the big 10 fellows and that's this is going to be a big, big win for us. We're going to talk about that. We're also I have a rule that I don't talk trash about OU until our game happens and so our game did happen. So we also have that coming up later to where we're from the cat. Turn everyday spending into more fun. Earn unlimited two percent of awards when you spend outside Academy. My Academy rewards master card the official card upon. All right, what a we're hopefully we can get pack later. I don't know if he's been able to make it in an hour. It's hard to get out of the game and get home. I don't know how close he lives the campus, but I did want to talk defense to what did you guys think of must champs first kind of big game. My thing was first half not great. Second half. Okay, I'm cool.
That's how I felt it. Jeremiah Smith. So I was saying I was like, look man, you can play man against Jeremiah Smith, meaning kind of what Miami did. Like let's mix it up. Here's a change up. There were some times where we had Derek Williams one on one with Jeremiah Smith where I'm like, do you mean it necessarily like that. There was some like beyond aggression decisions on manning up. I mean, they were cooking us on third downs to man like scheming us up taking advantage of the man in that first half. So kind of what are your thoughts there. I think our our D line man our interior D line got kind of manhandled there in those first two or three quarters. Yeah. And you know, we kind of shorted up, you know, that that that a whole second half there, but that first half man our our D line got manhandled. We got pushed hard and they ran up on his 24 seven man. So that that was kind of alarm. You know, and then bows is a little bit light to us. He was getting kind of shoved out of the way quite sometimes to us well, but second half man, we shorted up man.
It was just crazy to see just a change up. You know who had a big change, dude. So Masco misses a tackle very early in the game on the player. And you know, he kind of rough game versus text state. Then he Jeremiah saying over through it in the end zone, but he like pulled up early on Jeremiah Smith before he realized that happened. And I was like, dude, what is up with you doing that. But later on in the game man, he made at least two big plays on Jeremiah Smith. So, you know, shout out, Masco, because you know, I've said that I didn't like how you were playing. And towards the end of the game, you made a difference there having a man up the best receiver in college football, too. I think he's a very ordinary corner in anything, but press man. Yeah, I think press man brings out his competitiveness. I think it allows him uses length and his quickness. Yeah. I think he's a sticky guy. He's like hard to get off you. If you've ever wrestled or done jujitsu, there's like a certain archetype of skinny, like long explosive mood, who's just you cannot like can't manipulate them because they're like squirmy.
And like it's, it's, he's that guy in any other kind of coverage. I think he's a pretty average football player. He's an elite press man corner. We also ran our freaking freaking. I'm trying not to curse. We ran the fake press man thing that I love so much, Connor, which I've pointed out in all 22, a thousand times always leads to big touchdowns. It's where you walk up like you're going to press. And instead of being like this legitimate. No, no, no, bailings legitimate like at the snap you bail fine. You stand there instead and pretend to be in press. You give up all your, your cushion and then you turn and run with the guy. So there's the boat. That was the one. Roberson play right? Yes. Yes. Exactly. I never put hand on him. I think that. I think he made that. How many times I was like, how can he take our bonds this guy man? Do he trip to met the end though? That's how I got him. He tripped him at the end. I was like, thank you. Put your hands on the dude or bail.
Not stand there and then let him run by. It's insane. Yeah. He's like getting yet inside hill too. Like getting beat on the outside was like the absolute worst. So that's the other part of this. So I won't be able to fully evaluate mustamp. I was disappointed in some of his approach. Schematically in the first half. I won't be able to fully evaluate it until I can look at leverages because there were a couple of instances that court just called out in particular. Or we had clearly inside or outside leverage. And then the guy didn't play that leverage. Right. The reason we give you leverage is so you literally overplay that. And if the guy releases inside you, he's not your problem anymore. I mean, you still run with him. You trail. Yeah. But now a safety's got him. We screwed that up multiple times. And that's not like I'm fooling the quarterback. It's like dude, that's not you're not you're putting yourself in a losing position. They are the one that you win that's happening. When we put biles on in this who's a slot in bunch.
Yeah, that was just a must. Yeah, where it's just like there's some of this stuff where I was like mustamp dude. We don't got it like that. There's like three teams in history that got it like that. And it's funny. If you talk to Ohio State fans and this is like a great disappointment to them. Yeah, I'm like he's a college wide receiver starting at Ohio State. Yeah, you can cook our linebacker. Yeah, any day of the week. Yes. There was somewhere like yeah, I was talking. I was just like man, this is way too confident. Like maybe maybe year three is a coordinator where you really know. But he there was some high risk defense there to. And then what do you think also a problem if you're going to play that much man man. We weren't getting a lot of pressure. That's the thing. There's no pressure. Not to back up that courage. Yeah, so it's like we were in we were leaving those corners out of drag against a really good scheme and really good receivers at times. Also spying Julian Sain doesn't make a lot of sense to me. No, no. I mean, he's fine.
He's not a bad athlete. But if he wants to run that's vastly preferable to him throwing the German 80 yards of Jeremiah Smith. Yes. Did I'll take the tin. He, um, that yeah, that. Pregame who was like you all about to see about Sains legs. Like no, we're not about to see about Sains legs. He scores one rushing touchdown versus ball state. No higher states like. Is that. Is that a march? Is that a march? Yes. They're going to run midline. Of course, me up over there. Yeah. They should know better. Right. But yeah, that was a big factor, man. Yeah, I thought it was really dangerous. I didn't love to play going in the first half. First half, the second half. I'm really excited to watch the all 22 still a ton to clean up. I think in the secondary interior run game at time. But hey, man, at least they got cleaned up. I want to show pack the second half and be like, because you know, everyone's fans favorite thing is like, did we do adjustments? Did we do adjustments at half? And so if he's able to tell us that we did adjustments, well, I feel really good about our sales.
Let's get through some of these chats here. Some of these I just kind of had to pop up without saying. I take back everything I said shout out. You talk home. We already hit Quentin. Say here. Dre said when Ohio State missed that field goal. It was up from there. Yeah, that's the moment, man. That's the moment. I was running down the stairs up the stairs. Yeah. Paul Paul was a little bit ahead of me. Like he was a couple seconds ahead of me. I was going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, I'm going to say, a little bit ahead of me. Yes that was awesome. Charly. What sup babe? Whats up? What's up? The chats. No comment. Give us money. Weena. That hook-um says. I did put the group chat. Something that's the only catch-phrasing he had and I was able to do it. then for a second hook and boys. He said JK still hook him great.
I would say doubt was the only emotion I was feeling until like yeah until we got like across the 40 on the final drive is when I was like okay in the middle of the second quarter I may have looked up Sargs by out. Oh man I was telling my wife I said it's over I said look they come out a half time and scored three points it's over yeah it's over right yeah she goes no no they're gonna win they're gonna win they're gonna win they're gonna win I'm like you got better confidence you're crazy I know my team we're gonna lose and then at the end of the game she's like I told you I'm like I guess you did that was scared man I didn't allow to see that whole thing was scary well because I did a tweet that I was like it's not losing the big games that get me like if we lose by one and it's like a good game and a real scrap but it's like we always just have the most like devastating up first quarter where we just get dominated in a bunch of strange things happen but yeah man that did not happen the night fell asleep yeah it was the first half not the first quarter we had a win at devastating first half yeah so that's hey man this one of those games where like you
say it's the perfect games where you coach and you win the game you barely win it and there's so many things that you can correct and fix it but this is one of those games you can say man we won this game but you screwed up here here here here here thank god we won but we got to hold out more you done oh dude they're gonna have so much tape that's the great part is you get the win and you still get all of the moment yeah you want to hear a wild stat what's that yeah teams were 0 and 223 as in zero wins 223 losses been trailing by 17 points plus versus an AP number one since 2003 yeah wow yeah i'm not surprised i'm not surprised we put that one and two 23 and there we go welcome yeah i knew there's some people here mad at Ryan Day so i think so even throughout how bad we played they still didn't maximize because they really could have been up like what
35 or something on like that's what i was mad at the defense but also there was a lot of field goals there was a couple times we stood up there was the forked down one so it's like they were saying like day clamped up it's like well they did try to go for a fourth early but it's like i feel like did i told you i feel like there's time where like there's no way these guys are coming back towards the end i feel like that happened but what do you think of actually like Ohio states coaching on that man i'll say i hate i love the fourth down decision to try to step on Texas's snack early on but i hated the play call i just felt like in that set it was a little too obvious i wouldn't have liked to play action really in that from that set either but yeah i will say i i don't know if it's Charlie or who said in the chat but it felt like it's not not super conservative in the second half and then down the stretch but i thought it was a lot easier to predict running pass and uh clearly you know for Wilmo's champion Texas i i feel like they had a good beat on that as well but look like a Texas got a little bit more aggressive on the interior and uh
like a few times like Texas or sorry Ohio state just played right into their hands and ran right into it um but again once i get a better look at the all 22 i'll i'll get my give my ultimate judgment then but um yeah i love that decision early on i really go for the throat but i didn't like to play call it all yeah i don't know man i think in games like this you know you take your points you can get them because you just don't know you know this is you know this isn't ball state or this isn't north western after playing this is Texas after playing right and so you got a chance to get three take the three you know those are points that that came off the turnover right i don't i don't remember if it did no well anyways games like this you take the points man you got to take them because now you got to feel like last year yeah but he was so conservative last year i felt like it bit him you know and i thought i thought he i thought he was like you know at this year i'm not gonna do like i'm gonna try to win and it's uh it might have felt like he kept Texas around for too long last year and we still they still had a shot at the end so it's like i thought it was a change from last year because i thought they were like played it way too safe last year a lot
of times and i think it came back and fit on but it's crazy it's a second half you know you have to lose i think in the second half the second half he was you know he he was very vanilla you know i almost say vanilla but you know it was like it was after we could see on the screen i was like hey you know this place going here right so it's like he didn't play the win in the game in the second half he was just kind of just to kind of keep the lead and make sure that we didn't get you know you know any points is defense was kind of holding us until that fourth quarter you know the fourth quarter changed up so well the field goal drive that they missed they got aggressive right yeah yeah and then win yeah uh and sucking our linebackers up which i understand and uh Jeremiah uh kind of dropped one that wasn't a well thrown ball by saying yeah that was behind him we're gonna wake up at them and then they they kind of moved the ball and then yeah i mean if he if they hit the field goal we're talking about big game ryan day right yeah that's true i mean yeah these things swing on some pretty small stuff so yeah it just is really and if you look man that's
what the thing too is like no one stands out really in the box score like no it's 67 like winggo head one like that's the cool part too is like it was an aggregate because even though you feel good about smothers the average three point five you know like Paul said so it's like even look at the box score you would it was just kind of able to and i think mostly i had said earlier in the chat because he had a weird connection with mosey versus tech state in the first half or even further than the first half him and mosey just like couldn't get on the same page and then all of a sudden it out and i and i even said in the chat i was like oh they're playing dummy with mosey so they can go to cam at some point because they were just hitting mosey hitting mosey hitting mosey but no it was actually just mosey uh there was able to make all the plays and i have to look at all 22 because i'm sure that they were all over cam allowing mosey to be open but it's not anyone had a crazy game here too so it's like that's also another kind of shout out to the play calling this uh this game too because he just kind of went where he could uh Winston made some big plays at tight end of the receiving game dude really good plays dude like important plays
versus Ohio state he has like barely any playing time and he was like that was a big factor too so it's like tight ends have been a welcome surprise this year man and both blocking and in that regard so that's what i really have four time catch was awesome you know what's in yeah let's see what's Smith ended up with 164 yards a touchdown along a 43 average 20 and a half on 15 uh targets there man he was literally i was right Jeremiah Smith can go off and you can still win so not the way i wanted to be correct but i broke in clock man uh twice a day because i saw that with Miami i was like he had a big game versus Miami but it didn't i felt i was worried pre game that you can get so obsessed with Jeremiah Smith and your defense becomes stop Jeremiah Smith if there's all these other little ways that you can lose and it's proven because we've stopped Jeremiah Smith and they still beat us yeah did not expect 164 from him as well but it is nice to show you that
it's not always obsessing about Smith like i think honestly letting him be essentially the only receiver that existed for them can in a weird way limit them they're not maximizing the field when they do that there's a there's a sort of rubric and defense and basketball which is the elite score who can get a little selfish hey man let him get his 40 right literally lock down on everybody else yeah and eventually that guy will start forcing shots he'll start taking bad shots and suddenly his he's six of eight in the first quarter and then all of a sudden by the end of the game he's 18 of 39 yeah and you win the game there there is an element of that i i am going to be amused when people are going to be like see Texas shut down Jeremiah Smith and lost twice and then they let him go and look they won that's that's how you do it i would not exactly like that yeah I think that's my only thing is just like i felt like you can get so obsessed with him
that you can forsake yourself but i i thought on the flip side they got so obsessed with Jeremiah Smith and trying to prove that he could have a big game that i think they just didn't really do a lot with the other guys either so i thought in a in a strange way and we won by one off a fourth quarter comeback miracle game uh so you know there's danger here do not try to replicate this um but i thought a little bit of that occurred and you see here with saying one of the most accurate quarterbacks in college football ends up at 53 percent and they even feel like that to me honestly i would not have said he he was at 53 percent i would have thought that was higher well he was here yeah i was about to be honest with you yeah early in the game he was at like 70 75 yeah um McEwen one catch five yards that's what they tried so i was really worried about him because he's so fast and you saw what he's doing versus ball say i was like here's one day we're gonna triple team Smith and they're just gonna pass it off to McEwen in the middle then he's gonna take off and run but they tried to get it to him there's a series there where you could tell that an edict was put out to get the ball to him but just just didn't happen man i
i feel like Smith went from 164 but he kind of did take the oxygen out of the offense uh a little bit in that regard but once again we won by one on uh come back this hasn't happened since 2003 so um that's a big factor so here's your takeaway we're so good we can play bad for three quarters and still beat the number that's exactly the opposite i hope this is because that is the fear that is the fear that the players in the locker room like see sorry we are that talented i think we'll have i think we'll have a very spirited film session on Sunday yeah that's how bikes stay comes on there's no light switch we hey we got lucky on this one there's no light switch that comes on no magic light switch or we just flip it on or we're like you know like a 2005 you know like on it's no we got to play consistent for four quarters from now on if not man that could be 24-23 done way man so you know what my crew is routine this is a great game man great game
absolutely before we keep going let's hear a word from my man Drew if you're running a business in Texas real estate construction manufacturing you need to talk to fellow longhorn drew smith at hub international most companies outgrow their insurance and never even realize it until a claim gets denied or a gap costs them drew builds tailored programs not generic quotes he's gotten denied claims paid in full and saved one real estate portfolio nearly five hundred thousand dollars through his smart restructuring rates are shifting right now if your agents only answer is it's a hard market call drew smith 210 393 8382 that is 210 393 8382 talk to Drew before your renewal not after link in the description can you imagine the recruits who are like you have going over to the Ohio State sideline in the third quarter yeah and then they're like they see that in that atmosphere I mean that has to make an impression that was what was so painful as we're we do we put on these awesome
events game day everything is also we get our ass beat and so it's like that's what was nice to maximize what all the fans were able to do because they show up for these things so it was nice for them to get that heart Marquis Harper says down from 20 is not luck maybe looks the wrong word unlikely that that occurs here but we did execute down the stretch that matters yeah exactly it was very unlikely that would occur then missing that field goes important but also that's in those games that matters like the team that makes that mistake in these tight margin to ones they're the one that'll lose we made 900 mistakes though and somehow we're able to pull out of it is so one in 224 is 0.004 yeah oh I wouldn't call that luck either because we also we fumbled a punt we had another fumble that we recover I mean yeah let's be real there was a lot of game that helped us but by God
they went and kicked their ass in the fourth quarter that wasn't asking in the fourth quarter yeah I mean the camcola play alone like we we deserve to good breaker too just simply from the random ness of that interception it's easily has a chance to score six seven points there yeah and then bam oh I'll say it's where in the other way of the football we're weird play and in that moment it was like we're getting we're getting this crap out early they're going to be okay somehow some way getting this out there's all that that between the world rally fumble that again didn't actually probably think it was going to play out that way but it's trying to say hey the football guys are going to give us one at some point and so yeah I don't I don't think it's luck again college kickers are going to college kicker what do they say on the broadcast for rena kicker like you're going to have those at times um that's a tough spot it's hot stadiums packed you're away hey go close out the game that'll happen man you can't trust college kickers uh Charlie says did Sarc flip over the defensive headset during the game the joke the jokes are coming out man uh there were the wolverine meme like touching the picture of pk all of that was starting
to already uh fly out uh bravo and marie so yeah you deserve a shout out yeah we're tied in and they and they can block man appreciate the chat but your tight ends up you can secute if good games that's a trend yes well and it's against Ohio State that's great like it's verse takes state you're like man they looked good but you're like wait Texas you know yeah you got a wait um so for them to do it verse Ohio State a team of that caliber now you can actually feel really confident um and what banks has been able to do with those guys and those aren't a bunch of transfers misunises but really that room just been actually developed too man so uh shout out there as well some people uh a little upset about arch look i don't think arch in for three quarters was struggling he wasn't seeing the field well this completion was down in the fifties he ended up getting into the sixties um he was holding the ball forever dude like on that one sack he took it was like what are we doing man um so i'm not gonna sit here and say arch played a beautiful game
but he didn't play a beautiful game verse a and m last year either when you looked at the box score but somehow dude he was just like all right i would like to win this i i will reiterate it's he is not this coldly efficient surgeon on the field he's a college quarterback who wins with like guts and running the ball and running around and making you know clutch throws in in you know key moments that's just how it's gonna be it's not gonna look like freaking prime tom Brady it's just not yeah i keep hearing people ask about this we're on the show so i don't get to see any of the post game how about sargnaut taking the post game interview with the espion uh tell me what actually happened there because i know at half they were saying that they were having technical issues and that's why he didn't take it in the half so it was like what did he like did you see him rejected or was a technical issue i have no idea y'all have seen more than i have um i don't see any literally zero of the post game we hop right on here um no i didn't see it they say that um you know they had some technical issues and that he came out you know and he actually you know said that he was sorry
about it so i don't think it was anything that was that was crazy going on there let's see let's see a post game oh post game post game not the yeah but that happened at half so i'm wondering if they were still having technical difficulty you know but it said it took it just not for very long okay well i have no idea we'll have to look forward to seeing as we hop off the show so let's kind of see what some final things here texas 9 for 16 on third Ohio State six for 14 is crazy because it felt like they absolutely cooking on third down oh i most of that was the first half though yeah first half though first half to like three or four in a row yeah so that's interesting too that's something i didn't pick up in game but uh tex did pretty well there um penalties man again so like texas is finishing in the red zone it's running through the interior it's doing third downs like it's low penalties like this is exactly what we were asking for um from sark this offseason so shout out there i've been complaining about that for five years so i got to give credit
right here um but only two penalties for twelve yards man that's absolutely awesome too really good let's see he should holly roe away and said i got to go i have no idea what that's about he probably gonna go set up his boy man let him set up already man i said i said i said texas was starting so he went and sang with the team oh is that what was going on yeah are you just is that true or are you just making it up though someone in the chat said that oh okay okay i thought you were just like no he's a great guy and that's what he was doing yeah but yeah that's uh that's awesome i'm ready to i assume he actually did the press conference we'll see our guys there but a lot of just good stuff here besides the horrific mistakes that happened uh because fumbles man four fumbles one lost yeah let's see russian touchdowns in apple two passing one how to hide drop rate at 11 percent some of that of course winggo drops the wide open touchdown you can't do that winggo you got to you got to show up in these games for that
yeah um but also arch a lot of the times was just you know how they're practicing like throwing at high in the camp videos i tweeted i was like i think that might have backfired guys i don't think you really want to wrap in accuracy and uh he was definitely throwing at high he's uh so that was a big thing too you know what i thought about cam i thought cam was just really sound in there when he needed to be there besides the insane interception he just kind of showed up at spots and just made like catches and kind of workman like man so that's what i liked about cam's performance i'll see on the all 22 if it was um how doubled he was with any other kind of parts of the wide receivers you guys caught during the game you thought were interesting every game day you show up for your team now it's your time ask your prescriber about we govi some magla tied injection 2.4 milligrams a go p1

that i mean it's good that he bounced back i but yeah you got to have those plays man it's hard to scheme up some give me at times even to get some good defenses and the whole complexion of that game you know for texas it could have gone a lot smoother you know if you bring that one in but not again well you know they rep the hell out of practice too yeah right you know so that's where it's like dude you come on man like that that they skimmed you up for that like you've rep that all week that's a big factor too uh no clue she was deaf caught off guard it was low key rude obviously because that's weird because i would have thought that would have been the opportunity for sark to grandstand for 20 minutes on a post game you know um i would have taken the whole advantage of being able to win that game and uh talk to the crowds i have to check that out those interviews are pointless he had to go coach up his team at halftime they're talking about post game he had post game at the halftime one they came on the show and cleared it up purposely and said that they had technical difficulties and wasn't sark um but post game if you brush out i have no idea like i said i can't really talk about it i don't know what i'm talking about all right
let's see average yards per play 4.3 um yeah it's like two sacks one cheddar bento sack i mean arch held that ball for like 15 seconds yeah yeah don't don't put that on the line that's for sure yeah yeah that's uh he doesn't know what to do all this time and he's like there's clearly like sark's like don't run don't run because there were several times with arch like i'm like you could have if you wanted to um but even to burst tech state didn't really happen seems like they're not trying to involve manning in the run game so i thought down the stretch too they were really going to try to utilize him like michigan but and it wasn't really the case um so i don't know why did you see that versus Texas state court was he slow processing then no not near as much i mean there was a couple of times where it felt like he had too long and like guys weren't initially open he might have been looking for like a perfect play to open up
um and i felt like that early on in this game too like there was a couple of opportunities for him to get the ball out quicker um guys who you know maybe there's only a four or five yards spot route or a short dig or something where he just didn't make the throws you know and if you did um you know maybe they guess the ground game a little more space early on but you got to be just willing more willing to take those you know in my opinion and and he's willing to but it seems like with tempo and when he we're behind and you really have to get into that quick game set you know like that's that's when he seems to be the most comfortable to be honest and he just kind of let himself go as an athlete and plays a little bit of backyard football well he's had like that's what's weird so like i've heard this narrative like a man and can't read defenses there's plenty of tape of him going through great progressions now i don't know if he's like well this is mod corvors and therefore i'm gonna go but he can get through his progressions that's something that he does well um but just some games he doesn't but i i can show you tape where you're like he knows what's going on so i i think the moment he clearly was a little um in the beginning a little bit weirded out
and then he made that weird pass to wingo so like there were some moments there where the moment kind of got on top of him for a second but clearly didn't uh didn't feel that way towards the end of the drive but i don't think the man and can't read defense this thing i think that's actually an accurate i think if you watch some big games though you you could maybe get that feeling for him what do you think i mean i was trying to like uh play a ball play oh i just gonna say oh i was saying clearly played with the coverage bias yeah they they had multiple instances where they rush three yeah yeah a lot so when you're playing coverage and sark runs a lot of like beaters anticipating what he thinks the other team's gonna run when you drop eight you can kind of like defeat man and zone beaters because you're running like married concepts right some guys are in zone and some guys can play man right and you've got two safeties deep so i think arch was sometimes looking at not open receivers and trying to be like i don't know what to do you can tell some yet some of it i was like the rush is not bothering him they have to be covered that's what i
have to say all 22 now but there was sometimes they showed the skycast where he was coming off of stuff too fast like things were coming into his vision there was one with can't he had two open guys on one play but he just went right away from him so we'll be able to see that we'll talk about that on the rewatch tomorrow uh joshie manning what's up man my children will be told about this game yet and luckily you have video proof too sit them down when they're four years old son you are now a man it's time to watch it's come back versus Ohio state i want to show you what football can be like yes exactly stressful show him no other games just that one at once every 20 years because just like this yes exactly you will get this feeling once every 20 years you will get this feeling son you know haley's comment son well let me tell you about something that's like haley's comment you get exactly yeah he said since 2003 man oh man uh Ryan Wingo stressed me out with these drops
yeah Texas state i felt he did good but it's just like you've got to make those plays man and then they didn't help him in the slow mo where it literally goes straight through his hands i will say in response to that last comment about not throwing with anticipation the ball that he threw to Ryan Wingo for our first touchdown um you know that go look at when he released that ball that was that was a well you know we're knocking on him a little bit but that was a well anticipated timing on that you know released to get it to win go there and and a perfect spot as well and it's weird too because like i'm telling you one game it's there and then the next game it's not there so i would tell you if i thought he didn't have it he does have it it's just something happens kind of game to game watch Darian mince it mince is a baller dog he is so nasty yeah he's sick dude yeah yeah he's uh he's sick but he was uh he is my favorite NFL projection yeah he's he's absolutely awesome man all right boys well we we saved a dessert for the end the Oklahoma Sooners they went up they went up and played Michigan that Michigan team you
remember what led the last week that Michigan team um and uh Oklahoma they lost and they look really bad while they were doing it um and so uh let's discuss uh what you guys were able to see there i was able to watch the first half i missed the third quarter because i had to do work and i tuned back in for the final seven minutes couldn't miss that but uh what'd you guys see from our beloved Oklahoma Sooners there's no reason Oklahoma she was lost in game they're off and sucks though it just does and they don't have an offense for damn the quarterback is not really thought it was going to be they had people saying all offseason that you know he was he was a bigger baker maker made them like did you guys see what baker made it was like in college yeah what he's one right now the pros like baker was different you know i don't i hate owe you with a passion but i love watching baker make you like he was a different guy right and so look man there's no reasoning that they should have lost that game but their offense is just not anything closer to
defense and so he says what it is and Michigan didn't look good they didn't look good at all either man did you know what he's on offense so Michigan is absolutely terrified of Bryce under me i know yes i have not seen an offensive coordinator that terrified of their own quarterback in a long time like you're wearing a Jason hockey mask dude he made he made two plays the whole game yeah yeah you know it's funny because i know i know a guy who's a Michigan fan is a pretty good fan he's a little he's plugged in for two and he had told me in the offseason he's like Bryce Underwood's like not working hard he's kind of lazy like kind of like he's got like a camp like you interact with his camp and not just him that he's that guy no and uh i just i thought that was interesting and then when i saw the debut against western i mean it gets western and then i saw this game i was like okay so this guy is not just blowing smoke like this is real but they are terrified of Bryce Underwood and if they had not gotten that interception late that mature through
yeah um i don't think they win the game i don't i don't think they have the ability to win that game because i don't think they would have trusted Bryce Underwood to drive him so i had i heard a statistic that oh you was not scored more than 28 offensive points since joining the SEC oh wow i have to check because that seems insane but also it seems wrong but apparently you can find that you can account for that even in the UNLV game where they put up 50 or whatever so yeah unrelated question just completely unrelated to Michigan OU John Matier do you think steroids affect your processing so i remember i put in the chat i was like i was like i was like mature got way too buff to lose this game man i didn't know i'm gonna talk about John Matier i just asked you a question it definitely it definitely affects your processing okay there's been many I didn't reach on mature a lot of evidence of uh steroids not leading to positive mental outcomes
uh for men for sure he's hard he's hard dude he's just and what i mean is he in year four right now you're it's just fourth or fifth year in college football it's not fifth it's not fifth yeah but it's like he's been in that offense for a long time dude yeah and he like escaped it offense right and so he yeah he's been in the office for a while so he's been in for a while now he's still overthrowing and of OU did the same thing this year they put out that stupid clip where he like runs and does a back flip through the sideline and throws it under his legs and they're like this call him like guys this is uh it's cool if you're a baseball player um so it's like he still doesn't his feet are bad he overthrows the moment is always too big for him um he's just uh not gonna be that guy it was fun going on sooner scoop though that was enjoyable um to see that because they were as they were they were they were they were they were meaner to him than i would be man well here's the thing about sooners that's really funny um because people are like well all fans are like that no so sooner fans are like all fans plus 25% yeah so their preseason hype is like cool aid you've
never seen you can't fathom the cool aid of a sooner fan right but when things go wrong is it right it's like let's dox him let's destroy his life let's kick him out like yeah let's i'm hurting and i want him to hurt too like that's sooner fans yeah and it turns for them fast dude it gets dark like yeah i mean ponder knows some of our interactions with sooner fans and there's no other fan base that reacts the way they do yeah about very straightforward analysis or just a difference of opinion um there's a different than in the the fan DMs even look here's the thing with a and m i don't like a name but their fans are at some level are kind of like it's a different thing man like i've never i've been writing about a and m for 30 years dude no one's ever sent me a DMs thing i'm gonna find your son and kill him yeah i know exactly that's what I said a name a name fans are annoying but it's never dark but oh you've been saying some creepy
stuff dude yeah i think one percent of all fan bases are mentally ill and i think sooner fans are like eight percent these i got to eight yeah i've only had one person make me go scrub my Instagram of all my children of my personal Instagram and it was it was a suitor fan yeah i know you see i'm not a bad parent i love my kids but i like some psychopath like two years ago was relentless i would block him he'd come back on another account repeat that whole process for like three or four months i was like i'll just do it this later it's dude sooner fans are there's a it i'm telling you it's darker like an m or still like marcelle reads great buddy but it's like oh you have a different thing man also you know an an m fan if you leave your house for a vacation for a while they won't break in and like strip your copper wiring okay say what you have about acne weird the spooky we won't like oba an abandoned house of its copper wiring and sell it
yeah yeah unfortunately they're still good people regardless like if you have you know you know and you you live amongst them you're like they're actually pretty nice guys they're delusional don't know anything about football but they're not dark oh you fans turn really really dark in those situations something like that and m is a wholesome delusion oh you as Jeffrey Domino yeah well done yeah that's a dog right i think that's the the next step man um yeah so we got you tsa shout out trailer man they got the dog versus text state today man trailer coming on i t yep so we'll uh yeah we have a interview scheduled him so you know coaches man they could be crazy something like it happened but uh hopefully we'll get the chat with trailer to here this week so it congrats to him gonna break down you tsa then we got Tennessee hey man don't ride the way too much uh we got a whole rest of the season this was a huge first test but like i said the one lesson you don't want is we can play horribly against the number one team in the country and still win do not
take that as the lesson that's the lesson i want you to take that from this lot please don't here's the thing i don't want to be i don't want to be a downer yeah that that felt like a must-win game right it felt like the biggest game in the world yeah we're gonna play five more of those this year i know that's what i'm saying don't don't if you ride the wave this season you're gonna be exhausted like oh my god there's gonna be like you said at least four more of these like Texas has to win this so it's gonna be a crazy season but it was important for me to see we had low panel even though it was crazy low penalties shark like a movie has to finish by winning in the red zone with a not cute run like that was if you wrote it you'd be like this is how he proves to us he can pass the test so um good stuff there man but as soon as we get off this i'm gonna watch that game again dude i can't do that but uh that was an emotional roller coaster in a good way man honors the the guy at the end of Rudy like the like the the the land it's like
what i think that's clap of all time yeah that's gone over sorry because he's running the ball in the successfully running the ball under the hands on there dude i love that actor he was in every movie for 15 years and now i can't find what happened i don't know i'm not sure he's fantastic his name too what was his name uh i got to look that up and terrible with the names yeah he was so good about to stuff everyone head over to inside Texas you can get one dollar for one week take advantage of it right now i'm sure it's good vibes on the board haven't been able to check but i know it's gonna be fun and then you'll get 50% off your first year we'd love to see you over there link is down in the description below this was the post game show is brought to you by academy sports and outdoors and Texas did beat Ohio State what a wonderful feeling everyone have a good night and see you later every game day you show up for your team now it's your time ask your prescriber about we govi some maglatide injection 2.4 milligrams a gop one
