This podcast is part of the Sports Social Podcast Network. Hello and welcome to your post-match Raw. I am your host because Trev is ill, but we are going to talk about a win and we have an old face for the post-match Raw in gym. How you doing gym, a usual face and say, oh excuse me, that was rude. It is a very old face though, don't worry, you're right, I'm not mad at you. And we have a new face for post-match Raw, Lewis, how you doing Lewis? I'm better now, I can tell you that for a fact. Oh, doing good. Good stuff, good stuff. But yeah, we are on YouTube, we are in Discord, we are in your ear holes on the podcast places where you are after the match, but as ever we do start with the line-ups
as usual. And gym, I'll start with you, but let me just share my screen for the watches along with us so we can put it on screen. So Liverpool, we went with Alicining Goal. I'll skip out the right back just for now because that's probably the one point of contention, which isn't a contentious point anymore. We have Kirkers at left back, Van Dyke left centre back, Jackie and McAllister, so Bozlai, Mooners on the right this week, Verts, Gakbo and Isaac, and at right back gym, we have Ronald Arrejo instead of Jeremy Jackie or probably what most people expected. Dominic, so Bozlai playing right back, were you surprised by the right back news? Sort of, yeah, because I think it was more of a, I kind of forgotten we had him. I know he sounds stupid, you know, not new into the season and that, but I'm just thinking, who can you have instead? Dom, and then that was after a real aspect of Kirkers, you know, he's still kind of thinking about how he was last season all of the time, but no, I mean, it just makes the most logical sense because I think that was a big part
of why we signed him that it's kind of like going to be almost like the next job goal, where he's only but hopefully without the injury record, so he can play in the middle, he can play it right back. And whether he gets to keep those positions, you know, that's a different story, but that was quite happy with that because the other reason I was happy with that is the biggest, one of the biggest issues we had really last season without being done playing it right back so much was that we didn't have Dom playing in midfield anymore. So that was, yeah, I was quite pleased with that, not massively surprised. You know, I'm sure, you know, I'm sure like, you know, as the season goes on, when Conor Bradley comes back with I've more people moving around, but you know, I always say this whenever a player gets a chance, I'm whether they've got to take it, there will be rotation, but you know, when it comes to the bigger games, you want to be the one that actually named down first on the team sheet for that position. You absolutely do, you absolutely do. And Lewis, I mean, obviously share your thoughts on the Liverpool team as well, but it's which going into the game, we won't go through their entire team, I'll read it out in a sec, but yeah, first first, first thoughts on the Liverpool side and then what were you thinking of Ipswich ahead of the game?
I mean, there's some standout names there isn't there really, probably in C-Sows, probably been the eye capture money, he's been probably their best player so far this season. Palacios did the whole granite jacket trick of buying a midfield from Liverpool's and that might keep them up. But yeah, well, our team and what was your impressions of their team before the game? Well, this Ipswich team, they've spent over 200 million in the summer and it doesn't feel like the Ipswich that went down two seasons ago. It feels as though they've learnt from those errors, they've come up and immediately they've tried to rectify the issues. You know, Emerson is another player who, very physical, very direct, for Tarwu, less than was sensational at points, they've recruited, but they haven't just done it for Recruit and Sake, they've brought in specific players to fit certain roles. And I was worried because they were brilliant against Sunderland, better in the first half against Magnionite with a better team, and a very attack-minded and press heavy. So for me, I thought a Liverpool team, very open at the back, very exposed on the counter attacks, there's going to be problems from them.
The team we picked, I think the Ronald Raoho situation, I would have bet my mortgage on Dominic's Obeslide start and based on Iriole's comment. But having Raoho, he won the most jewels on the entire pitch tonight on A.T. made the most clearances on Seven For Us, and because he's not that attack-minded fullback, it allowed Kirk has to push up and influence attack more, and now with that benefit of hindsight, you just look at it and think it's the ideal team in terms of securing the backline that can drop into a back free, and also allowing the attackers to really express themselves with our fear of over-committing and leaving space behind. So I think Iriole got it absolutely spot on tonight with the team selection. Yeah, I agree. I agree, and obviously we got the news yesterday that Joe Gomez is back in training next week, so that might be the blueprint going forward, is more of that centre-back type at right back, which as you said, did get... Not the best yet out of Kirk as I'd hope, I think there's a level or two to go up there.
But he definitely had a lot more freedom there, which is grand. But let's have a look at some of the comments from on YouTube. We've got some differing ones there. I mean, Bri and there is X-Gall's twice, defense kept a clean sheet. LSC get three points, great starts of the weekend. I can only echo that. Fantastic start to the weekend and pressure on our rivals and teams around us. But different from Amitya, which we might go into, we're so bad-impressing, it's macro and gravcon at press, so easily dispossessed and passed by. I mean, I don't think it was the perfect game by any means, but I wouldn't be coming out of this game with any... any massive concerns, I think that was probably... This might say a lot about Lassies and rather than the game we've just watched, but that might be one of our best performances in a long while. But genuinely, at the top of my head, I'm thinking real Madrid in Tamil, I know they're like our last good performances. It's my first one. Before one against Newcastle last season. That was a good one.
They've been very sporadic is the issue. Yeah, and I think it's about doing enough as well, isn't it? How many chances they got? How many were clear-cut chances? How many were... How many of us shot us from outside the box? I don't know, it's just that... When Liverpool have been at the best defensively down the years, they're not a defence-minded team, but it's just that ability to always have one more body. The commentators might be going crazy saying it's Liverpool under attack, but actually when you watch it back and when you calm later on, you see... there was always someone there. There was always a last line of defence. How many times did Alison get his score today tonight? I don't know, but I probably mentioned a couple of errors of May be from Alison tonight, but not massive. They didn't have lots to do, so... No, it's always nice when Ali had to nice, nice offers, isn't it? But last one before we move on to basically the goals, because they were very early in. Different amateurs says, Virt has to be a bench player next game. Mooners is already better player. Prem is so tough for him. Great win though.
Many stepped up VBD flawless. Arrejo, great Jacques is solid. Gakpo is a fire. We'll definitely come back to Gakpo and his second or more. Virt is a weird one, isn't he? Because we... I think a lot of people, especially on AI, we've asked this question with Virt's... When do we put a bit more pressure on him? Considering the price and obviously is actually on up tonight, Baccol has just arrived and looked... He did nice little moments there towards the end. He put nothing to blow you mind away. But when do we think... Not a concern with Virt, but when do you think now is the time you need to show why we're building this team around you? I think we're at that stage now already. With Esak, a lot of the criticisms come of him, but you could have the caveat of he was injured for a lot of last season. He wasn't fit when we bought him. He was in a system that didn't suit him. Virt has been fully fit, played the majority of games, and he's in a new system. And you can see the improvement of everyone around him at the moment. Yet he is the one player who has shown no glimpses of that improvement bar.
Certain spells in the forest game. And I think at that point you must look at him and think you are the common denominator here. I do think that as a certain skill set, I do think that as pass and range, just still good. There were a few moments where he positioned himself well on the edge of the box. It's just this decision making with regards to that last ball. He holds onto it too long. Certain situations where he's in an area to shoot. He tries to beat one extra man unnecessarily. And there's a comment there talking about, you know, he lost possession 20 plus times. He lost possession 22 times. And there's overall pass and metric. He was on 81% for his accurate passes, 1 cross, 0 accurate. Expected the CS 0.05. I'm not seeing an influence to him in the game, which against an IPSW team where we realistically, we should have scored many more goals. And they were very open in that first half in particular. There was moments where I saw McAllister look good in creative sense, sobberslide, the full backs, GACPO, ESAC.
Vert was the one player that I just looked at him for. If you weren't in this team today, I would see no difference in the way that we play. And that's a big, big concern. I think that is something that we do have to start being more honest about with him and say, you've cost a lot of money, but you've had the time. You've got the players around you, the systems trying to get the best out of you. It's down to you to put in those top level performances that we know you're capable of. Yeah, I don't think it was all bad tonight. Like I think the past is tough. I think I can I don't mind if he's taking risks and I you said the XN numbers of these systems were created XG numbers weren't great there. But I mean on another night, he gets that great assist doesn't he for the is our hat trick. I think he I think he do well, maybe the numbers might show that up, but I think he helped the midfield probably operate the best it's been all season, which maybe doesn't say much goodness season, but I think he dropped in better at times. I think he covered when dorm or Mac went forward a bit better at times and Matt Jones is hearing one of the comments before we get back into the game.
I think the criticism versus got tonight is really unfair. We live in a world now where we don't score assist you somehow not played well. It's a weird one because it's we're judging a player who cost a hundred and 16 mill or whatever is final price will be so it's a weird one with words, but yeah, I think I think he was all right. He'd probably like a six out of 10. I know the other lads it will be doing the rate and showing night, but Jim to finish on the words. I mean, I'm not sure how much you watch the Bundesliga before he joined last season, but are you like happy where he is. Is expecting that big jump this season with him? Yeah, I mean, I think there's definitely a lot more to come out of him. You know, I mean, you're saying six out of 10 if that's kind of probably what you'd say he's a little bit crazy, maybe, and we would want to let out a 10 wouldn't we are more. But that's not not to say I still think there's a player in there trying to get out of you know, if that makes sense, you know, by all accounts, he was great in the Bundesliga. I didn't see him, but you know, we've got it. The thing is, over the minute, is price tags always come into play like it's always straight away. You expect the expectations are higher because of the price tag, but you know, he didn't say his price tag.
You could argue that, you know, we shouldn't go spending that kind of money on a plate or what he's been doing and I get I get all of that. But I think if you take price tags out of it and you know, you sort of almost think last season, did we get did you get played? How we should have been last season? Did it help his confidence last season? You know, there's a lot of that. I mean, so I'm just like we're starting again, you know, this season he's going to learn is going to learn from a different manager and he's had some time to get his fitness up on all the rest of it to play in the Premier League. Now, maybe another step to play out this manager wants to play. But you know, I still think there's this timing them. But I also think there's competition as well. And that thing about price tags that can work in a different way as well in the sense that, you know, I don't think this is the kind of manager that's going to say I've got to play him because he costs us that much money. If there's another play knocking on the door and knocking him out out of the way, he's going to be on the bench for a bit. And you know, when I think that's maybe what it will come to that he gets to a point where he realized he isn't first choice of you getting out of the way he's, you know, we're taking by someone and you know, that might just motivate him. But I think, you know, there's a few plays that are up to speed yet, you know, it's a little bit behind the others. I don't think Dom's been himself this season so far, you know, and you know, if we all were analyze it, it soon gets.
You know, it gets too much and I think, you know, let's give him a bit more time. He needs the time. And I know people have say he's out of the year, but I honestly think you could almost write off last year in terms of how useful that was to him about learning what we need him to do because he's kind of starting again, isn't he? Absolutely, absolutely. Right, that's enough for the, that's not enough of the downtrodden stuff. Let's get another good stuff. Right, we have the world's best passer of the football in Codigackport to talk about gentlemen. I think I've all, I think I've labeled these the right way around for, for the old YouTube there. First goal. Codigackport drops into the number 10 position and just fires a fantastic through ball to Isakhu. And I caught my notes, Lewis, twats it through the goalkeeper. It's like, I mean, if we be harsh for a second on the goalkeeper, you should stay there every day, but he hits it with some venom and, I mean, six minutes into the game and he's just absolutely fires it through an eight foot tall goalkeeper. It's a great way to start the game.
But like this is, I'm going to sound like I'm like I'm an old codger now, but this is how it used to be with regards to forwards, like not every goal has to be perfectly worked. If you actually go back and watch goals from like the like the 9 to 2 93 season, for example, so many of them are just players hitting it as hard as they can and hoping it goes in that find sometimes not every goal is going to be perfectly worked. And I'll touch on Gackpony second of moment, but quick shout out to Kirk, as you actually wins the ball back to set us on that transition as well. That's really positive to see. But yeah, this is the thing that Gackpony does that most fingers don't and I was it I was all up for selling Gackpony for a lot of the summer window. I worried how he'd fit in here. I all the side. I wanted to see more direct attack and players, but then you see him in the Monaco preseason game when he's dropping into midfield is very press heavy. He wins the ball back and he sets us on our way and tonight was a prime example of what Gackpony does that other wingers don't he is a creative drive and force good through the middle plays the ball between the lines and that ball into ESAC.
On paper, it looks like such a simple pass, but I guarantee you if you've either went back 12 months that ball would have not been played. It's all about the system that's been put in and how I all have once them to play and ESAC is finally playing off the last man to receive those balls and get into those dangerous areas. I made up that rather than trying to cut back in or take his time or trying to execute this perfect goal, he's used his killer instinct and so many times last season that was lacking for me. I just not that vital killer edge on him to just have a go at goal because you get your rewards sometimes and that's the ESAC that we saw time and time again at Newcastle and I made up that that size of him has finally returned in this time in the Liverpool shirt. Yeah, absolutely. I mean Jim, we obviously saw a lot of him at Newcastle, pretty much scoring this type of goal every week and that's why we spent a bajillion pound on him. But yeah, it is nice because I mean, even coming into this game, there was a lot of question marks. I'm sure there's people questioning his confidence with that step over clip that was going around.
But I mean within six minutes, as you say, there he's making a running behind and yeah, a great number nine finish. That's probably our word. Yeah, it's the is that I mean, these are guys are in Newcastle was, you know, before we were even talking about signing and you seem against us in the Wembley and Sony. He's just one of those plays. It's just full of confidence just, you know, brimming with it and you know that when a plays like that, I mean, I think as a striker, that's one of the biggest attributes he's having. Having confidence having, you know, not necessarily cockiness, but almost on the verge of cockiness that you just so full of confidence and both so full of belief that you just think you're going to score a goal and it's, you know, it helps you to be more instinctive with it. And you know, that kind of shot if you don't score, he probably the goalkeeper probably doesn't keep it might keep it out, but he's not going to keep hold of it probably is going to go to someone else is, you know, I have you shots hit him hard hit Montagot. You know, don't do all the messing about the extra pass and all the rest of it. That's, you know, it's almost a message to the whole team. And I think the manager actually mentioned that in that certainly after one of the games this season that you know, it's just that one pass too many one, you know, one, one bit too much deliberation on every single move.
Just get it done get the effort in the bath. That was it was great through one but there's the confidence on him. And it had this look about in the last season where he just did not look confidence. And I know we didn't see a lot of him didn't see it wasn't fit really all season was a, you know, he was, he was fit wasn't fit when we got him wasn't fit after the injury had we never really sort of fit a fit play what this season he's got the fitness he's finishing games. And then tonight, you know, I'm sure he could have done. It's just that confidence in him that's a difference also that still that you had just then as well. It's just interesting to know that. Verts is just slightly over to the left is cold is in the middle and I think. You know, if you want to back this probably a little bit of credit to versus well in this goal, you know what, the all round credit because I think he made a run that. You know, kind of you know, it's just a bit of a run if those two starts walking places. It's sort of getting defenders on the toes a little bit, not knowing who to watch another estimate. And then you know, I think that's a little little different thing to do this. You know, nothing that can make a difference, but yeah, I think is that I think that was just the look of confidence on him tonight. It was it was great to see this is the this is the difference with.
Like last season, it felt as though there was a system and Esa was there in spite of the system. It was as though it had a certain way and he was just slapped in the middle of it and told make goals happen. This is what happens when he's actually got his system that revolves around getting the ball to him in dangerous areas and making him the focal goal scorer. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I think there's a lot of Tony as well getting better than the decision making in terms of like when am I going to be the guy that scores a goal when I'm going to be the guy that gets the assist and. It's getting those calls right this season which you know and they have done before in the past but like last season. The reason we're all running out of patience within my season because he keep making the wrong decision. You keep having to go at go when he could have passed any key. You know, as soon as you're a shot, you know, it just. It is a different player again this season. I think Gakbo's got the most goals and assistant the Premier League player. Yes, Cody Gakbo 26 27. All of it. All of his access is assist as well. Exactly. That's all you do.
Right. I mean, we didn't have to wait long for the second goal. Let me get that one up on screen for us. We may not have had to have replaced more salad. I say and Jess don't show up. It would be YouTube. But outside the boot pass from Cody Gakbo. If I said that last year, you would have tested me for something fully. Good Lord. That's happening here. I mean, outside the boot pass from the halfway line from Cody Gakbo. A bit of a beautiful run by is like as we just basically mentioned there with the first goal. He's playing on the last defender perfectly time. Time. We can't obviously can't see in this still here because copyright exists. But the keeper comes out again, probably a bit too quick. Get sat down. Comfortable as you like with is that cool as you like with is that. And Lewis, that's why we spent the money on this movement. The coolness in front of goal. I think obviously when you look at other Premier League strike is last year was we had cost Tiago. Was the second highest scholar after Harlan.
Yeah. But there's a reason this lad in his last new castle. You people were discussing whether he was actually a better all round player than someone like early Harlan. It was just a freak, obviously, but that discussion was actually real. But we finally got to see it in a Liverpool shirt probably for one of the first times really. Yeah, and it's no it's no coincidence that when he sac was looking at his best in a Liverpool shirt. It was when he was playing off the last man through the center like the Tottenham goal, the Southampton goals. That's where he thrives. That's where he's in his best position and the whoever I can't tell the sobriest I'll care cares on the far right hand side of the picture there. You can see the Ipswitch defender going over to him. He's pulling him out of position and that's a big reason why I all has introduced a wick into this team. But not just pushing up fullbacks for the sake of it. He wants to expand the back line and ESAC is the biggest beneficiary of it. And I loved on Sky Sports when he showed the frustration that he had when the initial ball didn't go through to him because that's what he wants happening all times.
He wants those balls in behind for him. And he is on paper. He is a better role round player because hall, like I said, Harlan's a freak. But Harlan's a freak because again, it revolves around getting the ball and he will score with one touch. ESAC's second goal. Harlan could probably do it, but it'd be very few and far between. That was pure top quality Alexander ESAC, the technique that he showed to get past the defender and put the ball in the back of the net. And you would not have seen that last season. You would not in a million years of seeing that last season. This is an ESAC like Jim said playing with confidence. And I think that this is absolutely how we continue to get the best out of him playing him in these positions. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. One of those balls that went through some of the time I'm thinking. And I used to think this about about Torres. You see the ball put through and you're in it. And you're asking a bit of that strike, you know, and you're meaning to, you know, worth a try, but you know, you're asking a bit much. He's not going to do anything.
But and then with Torres, you, my god, he will. And I felt a bit again with that. So I don't really know this player at his best with the confidence. It can make you know, he, I'm not saying there wasn't a great ball. We're saying there's still a lot of work to do even when you've got it and he does it. And that's what, you know, if we can hear that confidence in him, I just feel like, you know, he's now he's remembered what he can do. And I think it was a comment coming through that it's going to be cinema. Yeah. And that's the thing. That's the thing. And as people in the chat are saying that, well, people are calling votes a bit of a fraud. But we haven't seen the best of votes as we mentioned at the start there. So if we get back all the firing, if this guy, if ball and dog, or a guy, well, keeps, keeps this level as well. It's grand. But yeah, it is a really fun time. And I think I'll be at the frustrations with the summer that I'm not going to mention anymore. We are arguably in possession of I don't know how I've made descendants work. We may have the best attack in the league.
But it'll, all the time we'll tell if they actually click together. Let's get into the rest of the game then because we've done the two goals and it's been a fantastic star. So let me go through quite a lot of the first half. I'll go through it. Note by nose. So after the goal is a bit of a sloppiness, sloppy touch from Mooners on the right and side leads to a half chance for Ipswich. 16 minutes, Mooners goes on a lovely run through their entire team just for the crack. Probably should have passed it is, I could remember correctly who it was. And 19 were pressing well for a bad pass from Fattauu and Mac to Dom decent shot. 22 nice pressing then player from the left lead to a dom deflected shot. 25 deep cross from Fattauu leads to an Emerson half chance to well defended by Jacque. Ali has one of his butter finger moments in this game where you just kind of drops the ball. At 28 and seesaw gets in behind Kirk as a Mac does well chasing Arreja then clears. And let's pause there for a second second Jim. I'll start with you.
And the midfields obviously came in to a lot of criticism and worry. This season so far this very early season so far. But it did feel like tonight look I'm not going to say that both of them were 10 out of 10. That that would be silly, but like even in that last moment I mentioned there were Max covering Kirk as unlock it. Fattauu and Ense saw really quick on that side. The Callister already looks a lot more fitter but also just capable of moving than he did last season. And we're already free games in and this is a lot to add basically zero pre season. What will we do in last season is these play. I really don't know I honestly think that we had some kind of standings or something actually I'm actually playing the roles of these plays are some because you saw Macaulister in the World Cup. It was like is this arm Macaulister is this the different one? Now have we actually lost our one and the real one is with Argentina and it's a different player isn't he? And I think another thing tonight with it is was he bought on 12 minutes or something.
Yes, I think one of those bookings that a midfield needs to get sometimes maybe we're especially going to go to referee that's so car happy. So to play for that amount of the game in that role and not you know not crossed the line again and he didn't I don't think there's any occasion where you think go. The rest got a decision to make here where you know they have that sort of give you a tell enough instead of a red or they could get nothing. He just he just gets on on suffer things I think you know we I mean we did we did all cry out for a certain position to refill this summer and we did previous summer and the one before that I know there's very little sign. Of that ever happening but you know I think with the plays we've got we've got to make the most of what we've gotten. As long as he can stay fit and stuff he is just he is a cool customer and I think whatever was up within last season we you know we can't really get to the bottom of it a lot of players work on last season. And again you know maybe maybe it's just literally a case of that better time with the Argentina Salts. He's confidence and then this manager now is just just trying to get you know the best out of him is not you know he's not an out and out he's never been an out and out central defensive midfield as he but he's got he can do to kind of do both sides of that role if you like and yeah it's good to see.
Yeah absolutely absolutely. Lewis I mean other part of that partnership there is Dom and look it it only two games in but it does seem like he's going to give the run to McCullister and Dom as a pairing I mean look the first game we had Dom overlapping Gravenberg each other in the box and I think we all just went. Probably not them to. Trey is obviously look very impressive in his substitute appearances but yeah it's not the ideal one as I keep stressing but it does seem like it's going to be these two is the first choice for the time being at least and I think. I think Dom's already shown improvement in quite a short time but can he reach the level of what we want only time will tell. Yeah only time will tell I think that's the you know it's a new system new manager and just because they're all his style feel suited to suppose that doesn't mean it's going to just immediately hit the grammar and be perfect I think he has. Glimpses of that quality player I think particularly in the end of the second half you know he's thrown himself about last it's tackles dropping back in offering defensive support good long balls out but there is moments where when he presses it feels like he's doing it for pressing sake and.
There's questionable time to where i'm looking at him just thinking you're not contributing in that sort of way so was life of me is better when he's late into the box when he's from distance and you can have a go at goal or he's influencing the attack I don't trust them as much in a sort of. Double pivot you're much more dependent on your defensive ability more so than your attacking talent and I think that will improve over time but it's either you have him as the very attacking number 10 or you have him out and out right back it feels as. He's not suited to the sort of box to box style in like. And the callister on the flip side you know Jim we were at the forest game and he played then how he played tonight and he offers you defensive support and structure positions themselves well but he's also a good out ball I feel like Dom hasn't quite perfect that yet in his time. Yeah yeah agree i mean it's i don't think i mean that's another thing as well when you're at the game as well in that you know I always say they see it's a privilege to be at the game book you what you get all that privilege you get to see a lot of stuff that the cameras on TV just don't get to show you because you know they're always.
Just focused on a little bit of the action out they're not sending to show you all the other stuff and you know even though when you see replaces a lot of stuff that it's just mind a little things that i'm not going to get a mention. When you start watching the game you can just see things unfold and see what players are doing and the thinking that the poor in into what they're doing and where they're going you know three games in. Everyone's had to do something a little bit different to what they've done before this season really and. You know he's been one of the ones who's been to when I agree with Dom it feels like you know if there's one thing you might say in versus the fountains almost like if you were picking. Players now for the way we want to play you might not have gone and bought the first place and I'm saying dumps that but but where will Dom fit in in this now is might be. A bit of a question I mean maybe maybe maybe the worst being in in the team is he's stopping us getting the best out of diamond you know the there's lots of dilemmas here I don't think that the awful dilemmas you know it we're talking about dilemmas here that to get players back up to start racing nine's out of ten rather than. You know what into sort of completely been them and wish we had someone else you know I don't think we're at that state with any of these players we know there's more can come from them and I think it will I think it will I think the manager will get that out of them.
Yeah yeah I'm very excited about the manager look I think it was a massive turn around I think if neutrals end up watching this some reason on a Liverpool channel maybe they didn't actually understand how bad we were last season I think a lot of Liverpool fans will. Yeah I think it's a it's a much bigger job than probably what was what then it looks on paper at least but let's finish off the first half then. Did to where were we is at offside goal we may be coming back to that but to lovely move by is that get to lovely turn and pass by inverted just literally a hair offside. My Ada runs in behind it's a weak shot on their left hand side and seesaw has a long shot Dom has a long shot a bit of a panicky clearance by Jackie and then to finish out the first half. Actually the one other thing after this lovely by lovely ball by verte nearly gets is I can but just to finish up the first half there Jim let me scare this on screen.
You both said you were at the forest game that just this reminder is any one of a penalty from last week where the ball has gone and there is a foul it seems like that ruling only lasted one week with Michael Oliver on bar weird that what do you reckon. I think this this referee would have struggled to give it to the ability I mean it was probably hoping you could really like both the girls I mean I know it sounds terrible but I mean I just yeah it was definitely one of those situations where the ref was favoring the homeside you know it maybe felt sorry for them something I don't know. And this is the thing that was most important well you know with referees and so on is it's a lack of consistency isn't it let us know what the rules are you know let us know what what the situation is let us know what the interpretations are and I can accept champions league might have different interpretations of Premier League but when you did that in that competition why you know why why are we are playing penalty one week is in a plate and sell penalty the next why you know what why a handball one week is in a handball the next you know all of these different things that win us up with the referees it's not.
To me necessarily it's almost like I'm not saying they're getting them wrong it's this inability to just be consistent and of course I mean with all of them as well as that refusal to accept that they could be wrong but yeah just let us know I mean I said this so many times and they did you know how would web kind of tried it half artedly let's you know without sort of resorting to abuse we can do it properly let's have the referees made available after a game to just. Explain a couple of decisions that they've made just let us know why they did it you know because you know what we might I'll go all right for enough or or not I think if they're off at the opportunity then at least we know what the thinking wasn't you know we can then get to see some sort of consistency and you know what maybe refs or watch it and start much of each other because I wonder if they even know why that referees made a decision in that way and that referees made a decision the other you know the least at least they might even be able to hear of each other what what the interpretation should be. Absolutely and I can't get this one on screen but as Mason says in the discord the no call on Gakobo foul was in saying I agree with Imelou I just I don't understand like look if they didn't give last week I wouldn't be overly bothered because our entire life falls after the balls gone are a rarity but they give it last week when it was much much much much softer foul than that I mean for now we just absolutely wipes him unnecessarily.
Yeah and it was a much much much much softer foul after and illegal throw in as well so you know this is all this is what it is it's the inconsistency and rules that just ruins the game and yet they're implementing the they struggle to maintain the consistency on the rules they have yet they're going to implement the five second rule for throw in which by the way we got penalized for it this game yet if you go back to the forest game they were taking about 10 seconds for every free game. So I think that's the only way to throw in and nothing was done the implement the goalkeeper rule again Matt sells last week 15 seconds at one point for a goal kick nothing is done and that this is my major right with it it's not so much that things aren't being given to us that's that's the case for this but it's a league wide conundrum that every team is afflicted with and I don't want to see more rules implemented when they can't perfect or come near perfection the rules the what that they already did.
So I think that's the only way to do that is to get the game out of the way they have and it's impossible to remove all element of doubt and fault that's just never going to happen in football but don't try to overextend yourself when you can't even maintain consistency from game to game I can understand somewhat of it's first game of the season and halfway through the season this happens it's been a week and yet the inconsistencies already showing and it just it baffles me that this is the situation that we find ourselves and that referee the weekend it was like you know before we thought we thought we team are wasting time they've got all the tricks in the book you've seen them all before so many times and then it's that one where they're taking forever then the referee events he does like you know he holds his watch up and yeah he tells you I'm adding this time on but that that takes five seconds doesn't it before he gets to the point where yeah so it now is if what the referee on the saturday was it's like oh they said I'm holding me watch about now start the five second count down how long was he giving them before he starts to count down you know and it's like can you not count you don't have to put your hands up to count and then as you say tonight it was like as soon as the balls gonna out of play
the count down started and when the other way you're right again it's it's inconsistencies and it just just get it fixed just get it started and if you're over complicating things then if refs can't as you say refs can't even remember what what to do and how many different things you got to implement what chance of we as fans or what chance of the players got just knowing what's what's what it's just stuffed it's always going to be a problem and then Mike Dean will be what's who's this this era's Mike Dean in 10 years that nobid will go on a podcast and say he wasn't trying we'll see we'll see anyway that's basically half time I mean just quick half time for it's Lewis think I think we kind of highlighted a bit early but as just one half because I think the second half was quite a dead half let's be fair but it's easy to do that when you're two in a look but I've heard that first half was as we say early Ron that's probably the best and most controlled I've seen as in a long while yeah I would say so I think there was definitely still some
weaknesses at the back and if switch did have a few good moments but in terms of attacking football and restoring that identity of what Liverpool want this was certainly a step in the right direction and honestly I came out at the first half a little bit disappointed because we didn't get more you know there were chances there so I was lying at this long ranger vert at this curl and effort gapo other go me and yours was dangerous and I looked at it and I was made up he sac was just killer as he was in the first 10 minutes but I feel like we could have done more we broke the going into this game the we this was six game six Premier League games in a row carrying on from my season where we'd not picked up a win and I was our worst record since 2012 when I think Brendan just got appointed and like we lost three nails to West Brom we lost to Arsenal we drew a Chelsea blah blah blah and so we needed to get that monkey off our back and I'm glad that we didn't sort of go out there tepid and just try and pick up the sneak win we went out there with the full intention of no no no we are going for these we're getting the goals we're getting the points and then we're
going to leave of our head held high and that's exactly what we did yeah yeah and the thing as you mentioned it's very good to get a win under our belts but I mean in terms of games to come outlet a comadrid in the Champions League probably out one of our tougher games obviously they were in pot one with us but it is an unfield and then full him who maybe this all changes after the weekend to come but full him having had a good start to the season taught him in the cup who cares then bond whoa whoa and disrespect the league cup like that thank you very much I trade off the league cup if we finish it first of the Premier League cover hey I'm the one who covers the cup so I got to cover it so that's fine but then it's born with then it's Man City oh yeah no so Man City at home excuse me but yeah I mean these are some winnable games like Bournemouth will be tough obviously a man City will be tough but I think these next three if we win all three in different competitions
it's a really good start to the season obviously we might slip up or whatever but it's a good opportunity but yeah all does JTB here is in the chat guys let's be gracious to the guys I've watched most of the Premier League games especially top six this season and have not seen a defense to well controlled like this one fact I look I agree maybe ask all the different because they play Arsenal football and look they've got the manager and they've been together for years and years and years now but Man City you've looked sloppy man United conceded free to this exact same team must we go is it two but they were behind they were behind to this side for most of a half a football that's probably more important to say um who else have we got Man City we don't really know what they'll be but they have look sloppy at the back um Spurs are funny um but it's only really Arsenal and look we knew they'd be the favourites going into it so if we if we're improving it quite a quick rate that I think we all agree we are and look it's it's not like we've gone out and smashed Arsenal
for there is it but yeah there's more it switches than the league than Arsenal's in the league that's the thing so we need we need to do this more and more but yeah I agree we've tipped you there I think nobody started the season perfectly over the Arsenal but let's see um anyway into the second half then and I'll go through some before I come to you Jim um so first we start with a sloppy pass by Mac um 46 some lovely hold up player by Isaac nice pasta dom uh flicked a verse and then the shots blocked would have been a lovely go up to be fair uh Mac probably maybe not score off a header from a corner but he should have definitely connected with the header a bit more um considering Mac to be really good in the uh considering his size lovely cross from dom on 51 well defended uh Jacque then just nick knees emerson for the crack then Jacque uh neither gets caught on the ball a bit clumsy again he get I think he got booked for that knee didn't he um weird bus yay back pass by dom um and then they're shoot wide by for
tow um he's got the basket 18 that wasn't the pass he levied it out of four oh oh um and then 54 56 Kirk has daftacle I don't think it was a red well I would have liked to have seen a replay about because he did it look very daft there um and then just to get up to 60 minutes is that bullied off the ball lead to a counter a shot by NC so yeah Jim I mean look it's not it's not the perfect start but I think we controlled the game with the odd clumsy moment like the Jacque yellow card like the Kirk has just battering someone for no reason but I think we I've heard this phrase used quite a bit recently I think we controlled the game without having a lot of the ball maybe the possession statistics will dispute that but I feel like we let them have the ball and we were found with that most most of that second half yeah yeah I mean it goes against the grain for me to start with the Liverpool side not not someone who'd be defensive but you know not not putting
as much effort in at scoring as they are it stopping them from scoring if you like and not something sitting back but you know I mean not not as positive and just just just soaking at the pressure if you want to break that way but I mean how many times have we seen Liverpool teams over the years were you know like in clubs early days as managers especially we'd see those teams that would put 12 men at the back because they always have the rep just defend like madden we just couldn't break them down and our possession might have been 75% but we could never say we control the game because in the sense that to get control of the game you're going to win it you know you control of the game really in that sense is doing enough to make it your game and your win and your points your goals and we just have possession and I'm nothing to show for it and yeah clockwork through that and and found ways around we had the big West Brom celebration and off we went but that to me was a big part of what a bad day then and I think today you know we're kind of doing the other way around we're sort of today we work as you think about it today we just had two draws
we hadn't had any clean sheets we'd we'd not gone ahead in a game at all this season you know I mean it's only two games but all of these things start being said don't you that the managers yet to have a win yet the managers yet to have a clean sheet yet the new defenders have let them yet to be involved in a clean sheet and all of this kind of stuff builds up and all that's gone that you know Liverpool have had a win the managers had a win the defence have kept a clean sheet they can stop saying that now and I think it was sort of pretty important that the way we could did control the game was that we said you know we're tuning up we'll we fancy our chance if we can get another goal great but we're not going to let them score we're just we're going to control the game in that sense and I think that that's what we did you know and obviously there's plenty more than half for us to still talk about where I feel like you know early on in that game we were showing you know glimmers that we could maybe get a goal but you know no big risks just just take your easy and just just get through this game get your points and you know get home and get ready for the next one absolutely absolutely well we've got some stats on screen from full time just to kind
of back up some of the some of the things you know 55% possession to Liverpool so 45 for them expected goals 0.66 for us 7 free for them that feels low for us maybe because they're keeper probably should have saved their chances maybe that's why it's a bit low but I mean when we're tuning up in nine minutes we don't really need to go ahead forever in career a lot do we total shots 14 attend to them five to seven on target for us uh touches in the opposition box 16 for them 21 towards and the other stuff doesn't matter that's important stuff out the way okay it's about accurate passes um I suppose accurate passes is quite interest because we have mentioned about the era all the change there but it's 500 at 357 to them 460 to us at 88% successful for us Lewis I mean yeah that was probably one of the analysis from from the comment you team that Liverpool are a lot more direct this season and a direct doesn't mean Sam
Aladai's ball obviously it means we're not afraid to just I say lump it which is Sam Aladai's football but lump it and then we can reset and press well as a team but we used to do that quite a lot of undercloth like we would reset and I feel like we never used to do that under certainly second year of Andy Slot I don't want to keep bringing up the x manager but it is it is good to see that I feel like those passes would have been a lot higher last year and it would have been a lot more tippy-tappy in front of it whereas in this game even just by those those if you'd scratch a bit deeper beyond those passes we're not afraid to just give them the ball and attack them off the ball yeah absolutely and last season it was very much there was a clip I saw I can't remember who it was against but it was across the box side to side wing to wing and then eventually the board just gets crossed into no one and no one's on the end of it and that was that was it it was rinsing repeat game after game when Irai Aladai does go along with when he wants the team to go along should they say that Van Dyke out ball is so vital to allow us to reset that long diagonal ball into the
path of Muneo's who because of his pace Oddari's going to get on the end of it and it gives us a good chance to push up and immediately put the pressure back on them so that's exciting to see and like you said it's not it's not Sam Aladai's at Bolton it's not anything like that it's not like long straight ball over the top to the big tough men out in front it's all for a purpose and I think being direct our play against Forest and today was very much through the centre on the half turn and that's exactly why we benefited so much from 20 to 25 having Gakbo there because he was excellent at that just because you go direct and through the middle doesn't mean you lump in it over the whole midfield and over into their back line those incisive direct balls are a big problem for teams to deal with and that's why McCallis has looked good that's why Vert's you know for all that he does have fault he's good at being on the receiving end of those balls Esak's going to benefit from it so I'm really enjoying what we're seeing from him the the intention is always we want the
ball in their half exactly like you said when they have this preseason compressed conference when you first joined so so far so good and I know people will say we're getting carried away because it's hip switch but you can only beat what's in front here is the old phrase an hip switch this was not the hip switch of two years ago who were pushovers this was a fully fledged newly promoted rebuilt side and we did what was expected of those and it came out perfectly yeah and we do have some quotes around on the year all of which kind of some support we've just been saying there so I'll do both of them it's nice we needed this one we had a clean sheet we started really strong and then another not good second half we didn't concede many chances I think and then a second core I think we want to risk when we recover the ball to look forward and find some space if you wait and play a safety pass the spaces will not be there why how did we see that a lot last year but look I agree with what he says there Jim like second half as I said when we started this half
it was kind of a dead half hip switch probably had a lot more dangerous opportunities whereas I think we were just setting up to hopefully keep the 2-0 but what he said there that second quarter did that's what I like to see I like was taking wrist and football I think we have the right players to set those wrist and football we've got the Adomin midfield Van Dykes of it as Lewis said they're really good on the ball and then even the subs we bring on that we'll probably talk about like Trey comes on only like 10 minutes or so in this game but he puts his foot on the ball and he just looks comfortable I'm really liking it and even when we subbed off some of the lads we bring on Bacola who's a much a massive counter attacking threat but we want to see that from the start but yeah I think the second half was a bit dead but we didn't need it to be grizzed no no and I think there's a lot a lot from what you just said as well though that that jumps out I mean the first thing is the the young player thing which if you're playing well in a game you're ahead in a game you know you've got it kind of wrapped up early on you know you're not you're
not assuming that you can just chill now you know you still got 90 minutes to play but that getting into your opportunities you're just bringing some young lads on getting some real minutes in a real Premier League game you know let them let them make a mistake you know let them look because that's the lads so well off that mistake you know in front of thousands of being opposition fans they learn so much more from that than they will plainly academy you know in front of a few fans are just back in training or whatever so give these young lads the chance when we've built up a bit enough of a lead to do so I'm pleased to see that but also the fact he's not just saying oh I'm only playing here because we're ahead he's actually giving them the confidence you know when it's you know for young lads that that is a big thing just for the manager to make it clear to you that it does trust you does want you to have a chance it's something we've done before at this club we've helped we've made you know we've made decent plays out of young lads that are coming through we've turned talent into something something long-term some long-term talent you know when we'll we'll see how it works out with Kumas and with Neonian you know and I'm sure in Gamal we'll get more chances under this bus when when the time comes he's probably is probably the
most got the most competition in Gamal for for a place at the moment but I'm sure he'll get his chances and when you get them you take them but they're that one about taking risks as well I think you know if you play safety stuff all the time then you start to say and let you're a mid-table team you know you're not taking chances you're not taking chances you're not giving chances you're you just kind of it just like the nil nil approach to football really it's it's just not it's kind of like what Roy Hodgson would have done in a way that the sort of nil nil approach and you know maybe maybe you'll get enough points to go through into a player for something you know it's that that kind of play whereas you take your risk if you've not got the place for it you take risks are you're going to be relegation level level team but when you've got the players you take the risks and okay they won't always work but on the holy will with these players and when that passing start I mean it's so important that we pass properly and I think something yourself and Lewis was saying the other day as well was that there's a lot of players that are playing really well but there's still there's still signs certainly at the weekend that they're not quite knowing where each other's
going to be and not quite knowing where to be for other players the the the learnt tonight there was more signs that they do know that but the fact is there's still more of that to come I think and you know those those passing starts will probably get stronger in games like this as they do just you're not just must get to know where each other's going but were each other's going now that we've got this system under this manager you know the familiar familiarity will come and the rhythm will come and that you know we can only get better I think yeah oh absolutely I think there's levels to come I think there really is levels to come from this team something I forgot to mention Jackie and Kirk as we were both booked I think it would have been a really easy decision to take off Jackie for instance because he's a young defender and we obviously had Ronald De Rejo who was playing excellently a lot of people in the chat there are saying he was even in for a shot or man of the match and I'd agree with that but yeah what have been easy decision to to sub Jackie quite early on because he had that he got the tackle the booking for the knees didn't he then he had that sliding
tackle way did win it but it was a bit clumsily a couple more yeah their play was trying to get him sent off I think as well there was that I mean I might I might be over it but he felt like just after that that playing he was on a yellow you know it's just there's just he sort of he's sort of inviting the foul and then for the play of files for it you know but yeah it was fine and you're right yeah there would have been temptation to take him off absolutely 64 minutes we bring on Gravenburg and Bakola on for Isaac and Moonos yeah Lewis not Lord to talk about with Bakola he showed the odd bit a nice pace but really exciting to see where what he can do in a Liverpool shirt for me and I've said it on a few podcasts now probably what are the most if not the most exciting signing in my life term he's he's got to back it up now or he becomes the next sort of Esac and Vert and that category because of the price tag but I agree look he has all the makings to be someone who will absolutely flourish in this system based on what we've seen with Moonos on
early days Gakpo Esac now he's got the skill set that suits I all the systems so well and like you said he didn't get a lot of the ball he didn't really get to do much but there was a really good moment where he squares it across the box and I think Gakpo actually gets in so I was like why he even being honest but that was at a point where Ipswich was starting to put pressure on us he was playing more as a counter attacker so that was never going to happen he was never going to come on and just absolutely dictate the game but I'm still excited by him and I think we're going to see a lot of him played through the centre I think we're going to see him put out on the right at points and it's nice that for all the lack of depth we do have we have people who are confident playing in a multitude of positions and as we saw tonight with a Raoho being a star you know a player of that it is a big benefit to have and I've excited to see what Barco can do going forward in those different positions absolutely absolutely wouldn't surprise maybe not let he might be too soon so it might be might be full it might be the ideal game for him might be
the ideal he's actually going to need a break eventually and you're going to have to find a way to compensate for that that's true that's true I mean Gakpo probably is first minute century this season off the top of my head so maybe he starts there in the middle of the week but we'll see we'll see where were we in my notes we've done the subs 67 dom get to penalty then get to take it away because it's offside which is annoying free nil probably would have been a bit harsh on them but I mean we had the offside goal in the first half that was very close to being a penalty but yeah free nil probably would have been a bit too harsh on it switch to be fair but it was very close to being to being on side that black referee was made up though wasn't he when he did not have to give the pen isn't he the one that's the start with and then he just looks on his face he looked quite happy that he doesn't have to give it now got that one right get in he's the one who did the Diaz goal isn't he I think if I remember correctly um
but uh maybe can't tell him apart no they're all crap um uh did it uh 76 you can tell the gaps between my notes are getting a bit bigger now there's nothing's up uh 76 lovely flick on by virt and run by barcola cordy should have left it to dom you just mentioned that Lewis there um 83 v offside maybe gacball should have just shot I think that's where it was on the right hand side of the box and he squared it across I'd not even show her who was offside there but um if that was me on a club match as a free for I'm sweating it was on the volley half volley god take got to take um 85 Clark shot nearly deflecting off the opp if I remember correctly 89 a slip by jacquet and it's well recovered by dom who was kind of playing right back right wing back and right wing at that time which was fantastic um that's basically it for my notes lads I mean any players we want to pick out there because we've gone through some like kind of sparingly there's been a lot of shots our ray four in the chat there uh from what from reds
there a ray hug gives us free center back covering counters instead of two looks a lot more solid I'd fully agree with that I mean there was a lot of question marks about when he joined Lewis I obviously a weird injury record basalona fans seemed over the moon when he left to be honest but look he's he's had a couple sub appearances off the bench when jack is still getting up to fitness obviously comes in at right back kind of surprisingly to a lot of people and look I mean a flash goal ratings a flash goal ratings at half of them are ballicks but 7.3 and kind of not the most eventful game for him he looked very comfortable there and I think you said in the intro uh the starting point of the show having him as a third center back and as I said go there's coming back next week having that third center back might be the blueprint going forward this season fitness dependent yeah massively and I think he's the question marks people had around them at right back I've done stuff for him on here in a gender and all sorts of said every time yes he is not your
traditional attack-minded right back but it doesn't have to be I right now would much rather have someone who solidifies as defensively than someone who pushes forward because that's why we've got care cares that's what frimpongs apparently meant to do a rauho went forward at points but his main responsibility was when Kirk has pushed up dropping to a back free and he positioned himself well because the reason why Vinicius Jr said he is the toughest defender I've ever played against physically he looks great in the air he won six of six aerial jewels his pass some range was good his coordination with Van Dyke and Jackay was top he was always in the way of the attacking wide players that's just what we've needed and we don't have a great history of lone players you know Nuri Sahi Ozankar back Arthur Meylo Paul Jones there's been some real shockers over the years Moses Sasoko etc so far he has the makings of being an absolute bargain and if you can continue that form if you can absolutely continue to maintain that standard we're going to be looking at this at the
end of the season 41 million pounds as an absolute bargain for a Barcelona captain experienced full back slash center back versus tile great in the air good on the ball and we could easily be crying out for his design him I know it's one game against Ipswich that's not a two carried away but he has not given me a reason to doubt him in the few appearances he's had before this game well that's the thing I mean not to jump ahead to next summer but Van Dyke's contracts up we don't know if Leoni will be ready to step up to regular men's football and Duckwell be back in the win the ball and all we know that going off pretty season so we need back up to end Duckwell in jacket obviously but yeah he's had a really positive start and as you say 45 million or whatever it's going to be exactly we saw the prices we were going to pay a 60 mil for crystal polished forward who won these calls against us you know so if he keeps up this form that price is going to look like an absolute bargain as you say but as you say we're only one
starting let's see how we go I think last season when we just had two cent about basic because Joe was injured Leoni was injured and you start of you know before any decision was made on the manger and you're discussing what sort of stuff we needed in the summer you were basically saying another mid another defender to replace Ebu because it sounds like he's going and someone with experience who can be a center back when one of those needs arrest or when one of those maybe does get injured someone with experience somebody doesn't expect maybe to be picked first every time but when I say experience experience either in the Premier League or at a top level and he's you know it's pretty much top level experience that he comes with and it's just someone that you don't need to kind of teach basics and things like that too someone with confidence and you know leadership and he's got leadership skills built in say man's any and stuff so you know he's not afraid to shout the odds if he needs to and the fact he can play in in two parts of the defense again it just gives us that versatility that it can come in and you know I mean to be
first a friend monkey gets and the criticism he's had I think some of that is kind of like the criticism Trent used to get that the way we were playing if you just focus on the defensive stuff Trent wasn't always great as a defender because he wasn't always defending he was doing other things now I'm not saying for him pung strength and we can sit here and create size for him pung I'm sure but I think the way for him pung plays he's not defense minded first and foremost bringing bringing this lad into night then we get that we get that three defenders one of whom it's a full back what can as you say make it three at the back you know I think I would say even when Trent was playing like Andy Robbo was the more defense minded one you know with it's almost a three at the back it's times we're Robbo but it's just over on the left so I think it's almost like a luxury you can't have Kirk as in for him pung even playing at the best you probably can have both in the in the same team something up for every game maybe there'll be some opponents it'll work especially without midfield as well yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
yeah um no I mean that's basically we've been an hour there any any other players you want to pick out before closing thoughts and anything you want to plug for the week ahead no I think everyone who's performed we touched on I mean I would like to say Van Dyke but do you know what I mean do you know like he had a phenomenal game but that's just the standard that he sets so you could look at that and go that's Voggin brilliant and on the flip side you could look at it and go that's just what he does but I think he was sensational Van Dyke and he didn't carry Jack A at all but you could see how much more comfortable Jack A was when Van Dyke played at that level and it really really showed I'd say Kirk as well there was that moment where I think Kirk has he had one-on-one with Fatah are we winning just say you watch down the line if he comes inside he's walking into this brick wall and he did yeah yeah that's what you want that's what the peak of Van Dyke was but yeah I agree I think everyone was decent to good even the soaps of hot came on him
were pretty good but yeah who man say who man on pressing isn't he's like he's like especially it's presser when he was coming on at the end I think that's you know you'll want more minutes when he plays a lot a little bit I think you know right now that's actually good to use for him and everyone else is tiring get him on and do that yeah yeah exactly exactly as Walta says in the chat here our transfer window may not been perfect but definitely at you you level our purchase have made great sense and our future looks bright I mean you just mentioned obviously we didn't buy who mass but who mass tray Rio not all the academy kids obviously because we bought a couple of them quite old didn't we put some the seven foot lad we've just bought French lad we just bought we've got plenty a young young talent and some of it's been named in the Champions League squad so he might see it in midweek but Jim anyone on the other side of the week well just a quick say on the young place the other side so that as well as he's not just bringing plays through that
are going to be stars for us in the future you're bringing plays through that there could be stars for us that could also actually make us a bit of money as well you know you know you're like once a major as well as he's 35 million and if you use them you know if you develop them right so you know some of these stats will be more involved at the academy again whether they come from there or not in the first place they'll get that sort of growth in that way as well to learn the the trade that way but as soon as he's out coming to the team and getting played a little bit more maybe gets sent out on loan the the development's done right we we're making we're making money we're making money out of these players the only the only was already bid 30 million pounds and he's barely even played for us yeah yeah absolutely absolutely and I won't even sell them for double that let's be honest not not in this window anyway good lord not in this market I should say not window but yeah gym in the darkness there do you want to mention anything before we finish up and
any plugs out for the for the next week sorry these lights are like a holiday mode so you know they come on and go off randomly I should have fixed that before tonight I think yeah I mean yeah I think tonight what I like to see was he's just another step forward another step closer to where we want to be it's it was good fun to see and I mean you know I think the start and I again thanks to Cody but I think just is that tonight that player you know forget the prize tag I just want to see that player really working well for as I want to see that smile on that face of that player is he's just got another goal and he got the recognition of the fans tonight and you could see the is too much pushing him towards the whole the traveling fans to go and you know take their applause off them and really looking forward to seeing more and more of him you know the play that we signed the play that we didn't want to play against when he played against us that that's where I'm looking forward to and I feel like we're going to get that it does feel that way now as far as plugs I can send yeah just tell us the Tommy's will be back soon myself and Jay just not been able to kind of get the same schedule together we're such busy jet setting people
obviously but I'm sure we'll get we'll get some time in the same place at some points soon hopefully this week but of course all the games are coming thick and fast now aren't they so no sooner be done a podcast than there's another game so we'll we will try and fit one in though this week it's a hard knock life isn't it all this football arc yeah yeah it was last season good a lot anyway we're not talking about last season that's a last time we'll bring it up I swear that's where we'll finish up Liverpool look promising we're up to fifth in the table let's see what the rest of the weekend brings for the Reds but I've been your host guard drinker I'll be back on YouTube tomorrow with daily red I'm sure they'll be playing over the weekend as well but thank you everyone for listening thank you for those live in discord thank you for those live on youtube x and facebook whilst that was working but till next time up the reds
