Welcome into the Wednesday edition of the back of the day podcast. I'm Steve Perich. I'm going to always by dusty Evelie Sarah. Tell her guys we made it. I don't know how else to say this, but we have made it through the offseason regular season NFL football is upon us when you are listening to this on Wednesday. There is an actual football being played. So super, super exciting. Sarah, how you doing down there in Florida? I mean, I'm great. This is what we've been waiting for. We've talked about it already. It felt like this was the fastest offseason ever and now we're already here previewing week one. It felt surreal to sit down this long weekend and do some prep for an actual football game. It's so exciting. It almost doesn't feel real.
Usually, you know, UCF has that first game. It kind of gets me back into the mode, but UCF one, like 76 to 6 or something ridiculous. So it was just the most joke of the game did not feel like real football to me. And now I'm going to get hit with the dose of reality this weekend. And I can't wait. I'm so excited. Fantasy draft is done. Know how I'm going to watch the game on Sunday. So it's just the time of the years here. Yeah, everything Sarah said, feeling great, man, flew by. I can't believe we're prepping. We talked with us last week. Sarah, we're like, we got one week left. I can't believe it. We got one week left. We're here prepping for a game against the Vikings. It's one of those. It's I try to prep for this. And then I don't really that much because I sit down and I usually try to look at like numbers and what they've done and what the film had showed throughout the season. We don't know what the film had showed throughout that we don't know what these teams are at this point. Like we do do a certain except we followed the Package for a while, but even then I think they're changing off stuff. The Vikings, they changed enough stuff every year. So I sat down and look at numbers, started looking at a couple things like none of this matters. It's just vibes, baby week one.
Just all vibes. So I'm I'm excited that we're here. We got football. I mean, we're recording this on Tuesday is going out Wednesday. We got football tonight. We're going out with friends tonight to watch whatever Niners C Hawks or Niners Rams or whatever the devil it is. I don't care. I'm going out to get wings tonight and watch football. I'm so excited, man. Steve, are you, man? I do good. Yeah. Can I very similar like I'm excited that football's back. It's going to be pretty cool. A little disappointing. You know, my kids still aren't of the Packer fans as of yet. So still working on convincing them to be Packer fans, but my daughter does everything in order to just mess with me. So she's a Cubs fan and then now she says she's a Bears fan and I told her Cubs was okay, but with the Bears fan, I'm kicking her out of the house. So you crossed a line. Yeah. That was the line that you're like, you know, Cubs fan, I get it. You were born in Chicago. I understand. But my grandmother is not a Bears fan, like nobody in on your friends are bears fans are your father is a Packer fan. Like, yeah, that's the one, that's the one that you got to get a lock in. So I'm hoping that Fitsy will at some point want to watch football with me. But you know, this is just a fun time in here, man. Like, just games from noon until 10 30 and I to 11 o'clock in night. You know, I'm going to go to the
late, you know, we get to have a little break in there for some dinner and then continue like, oh, just the perfect time of year. So I'm super jacked up. Like, this could be a lot of fun. Man, I think that the Packers are going to have a really good team this year. And I think they're, you know, they got a shot. So with that guys, let's jump in because we haven't done this in forever. I almost kind of forgot how we did this. But we as a team on this Wednesday episode will be previewing the Packers offense versus whatever defense they're playing that week. So obviously week one, they are playing the Minnesota Vikings, kind of like Dusty said, who knows. Don't really know what's going to happen here. We think we know, but again, there's about half the time in the season where you think you this one team is going to be awful, awful or amazing. And then they somehow just flip the script. So you never know could Kyler have a rebound year. All these good, could nine show up out of nowhere. Like, we don't know. We don't know what's going to happen. But it's going to be exciting. So one thing that you are watching for on the Packers offensive side of the ball versus this defense. So Dusty, I know it's been months since we've let you really, really good.
We've let you really, really dive in and cook on this. So we're just going to start with you and then sir, like, sir, I'll do like the sad slide whistle after that. It's all vibes. Steve, it's all vibes. I mean, it's as big or as narrow as I kind of want it to be because the bigger question is, how does this all look? They've changed so much stuff on the offense. Throughout the course of the season, whether it's getting rid of our receivers or the offensive line or anything like that. But I'm going to focus on the thing I'm really curious about is I'll hone in on a single player as part of a bigger point as Matthew golden. How is Matthew golden used because they had been for years. The floor is often to look to certain way they get more condensed, get a little more condensed receivers. They look for bigger body guys that can block fast guys. They're all pretty fast, but they got to be able to block. Well, now they've gotten rid of their two big guys. I mean, they Watson still there, but they've gotten rid of golden. You've gotten rid of wicks and you are not golden. I'm sorry wicks and dobs. Did they trade somebody? Yeah, golden's gone as well. They traded it for wicks. They got wicks back. Now, so now you'd have these smaller guys read was always just a slot only because he was a smaller body.
But now you have golden is going to be the other outside guy does that change kind of just how they function on offense with with those smaller bodies. Are they moving to something else? Are they spreading out a little bit more? Are they asking the receivers to block a little less? Are they are they passing a little more and so some stuff is less important or they going back to wide zone stuff like I think a lot of that stuff kind of for me hinges on. What does the usage of Matthew golden look like? Where do you see a line? What are they asking me to do, especially when it's run game stuff? Is it just RPO bubble stuff and you're you're getting someone out? Is it just we've seen them do some online blocking stuff, but isn't more blocking in space. Just try to you know little little hands lay up dance with the safety, which they do sometimes I'm pretending to block you. You're pretending like you're trying to get away from me. Is that all they're going to try to do with them? So I think a lot of like what this looks like this year that to me is I can take it over the big changes the size of the wide receiver. So how does that look? What are they deploy? Are they going more tempo because they feel like they can get those mismatches with the guy like golden out there. So that's it's a bunch of different things, but that's that's my big thing is just what is that wide receiver usage look like the deployment of golden specifically.
So I feel like we're going to have the same answer on this one, but go ahead. I'm going to let you let you go first. All right. Well, I was ominous. I'm scared that I'm going to steal your answer in first. Well, no, this isn't so I see I called it. I went ahead, but we'll see we'll see how my predictive measures are working. I mean, I think you're on from process of elimination. You're probably right. I'm just really curious what the run game is going to look like for the Packers. Is that it? See that I take yours kind of okay? We're okay. We're okay. All right. We're good. Look at that. So in doing some prep for the episode, we're just reading up some articles actually for on the Viking side and some of their writers and their sports illustrated writers believe that the Vikings run defense is going to be a bottom five unit. So I usually say, okay, this is an area that the Packers offense could exploit. You know, they Vikings moved on from Dragan Hargrave, Jonathan Allen, which is needed, but doesn't mean that they're now a okay. They're rebuilding in those areas with some rookies. rookies are already working through some injury problems.
Redmond had a big year last year, but tough to say if that's who he is and that's how he's going to be from now on, or if that was just a big year. So a lot is is writing on him, but all that to say Packers usually say, okay, this is you know feed Josh Jacobs will Josh Jacobs is likely not going to be available. We're you know, I think Packers are operating under the inception that you know, he's not. I know that the court hearing was moved up, but even then I don't think it's going to be he's going to be ready in time. And there's a possible suspension still. So all that to say could be very interesting just to see what happens. We know close to nothing about eat cannon and the guys that come behind them. And so this is an opportunity to see a piece of the Packers game that we haven't seen in regular season football. But yes, we've had moments of preseason and in camp now that there people have been very complimentary and like that they saw, but I will be curious how they utilize their running backs knowing that the Vikings run defense is pretty weak.
And I think in a perfect world where the Packers had their you know, one one roster, they probably would have run the football a little more. So I'm just curious how it it's going to compliment the past game this week. I mean, Dusty talked a little about that already. And I think that they should let Jordan love cook, but just it's an area. Yes, it's week one. Everything's an unknown, but this is a super unknown to me. Well, I think we kind of blended this all together, shockingly well for not discussing this at all prior to us. Look at us. But mine is going to be the offensive line and just really, you know, I think everybody has a lot of questions about that. And it's kind of a toss it in the air or if it's, you know, a cooking reference that they're going to throw some things at the wall and see what sticks. And I don't think anybody as that's a packer saying like hearing that, but with these injuries that banks has that. Zach Bucket, with both of them being injured, I think there's going to be some shuffling and they're going to see who responds in the game. And so I think that is going to be a point of contention of, okay, is this purely going to make everybody's life easier and say, let's make this a passing game and just go let Jordan love cook and you guys pass block.
Don't have to worry too much about this own run scheme and just kind of work your way into it. Just make it easy. So that's one of the biggest things I've just very concerned because this offense has the ability to go quick and fast and far. And the way that they're going to do that is to give Jordan love a little bit of time. And so if they can't do that, the entire offense is screwed. So I mean much like any offense in the NFL, if you don't have an offensive line like, yeah, you're not going to do much, but, you know, this is a team that has high expectations and they need this offensive line to produce if they're going to come even close to that kind of stuff. So that is kind of where I'm taking a look at for this game. Now we got a bunch of questions. First one from simian. So how are we winning this thing? I think you'll probably talk about this on the show, but it seems like Jordan staying upright will be the key because I'm not sure how much they will get from the run to think 60 40 pass rate.
Pass to run ratio. So Sarah, what are you thinking? What is that pass run pass ratio? Looking like 60 40 pass to run ratio? I think it could be closer to 70 30 on knowing what the unknowns of the run game. And I think they got a lot of Jordan love cook. I mean, this is week one. He's going to have all of his weapons, which was a rare thing last season. And so I'd love to see them really rely on the past game more and just try to get hot right away there. But yeah, I mean, some of that also comes down to what you just said, Steve, and making sure that he has time in the pocket to have true vision and see what's out there. So that would be my guess. I think it's going to have to be pass heavy. But I'll let Dusty nerd out about it a little more. I mean, 64, I'd be cool with if they go 65 35 that be cool. I think more than more than the because it the mix is always like that's maybe that's a game script thing. If they get up big, they're going to run more like whatever. I do think this should be more pass heavy. I think more than that. It is. It's tempo to me. That's something I think based on the pieces I have. I think they should lean into more anyway. But then if you're trying to force a defense like the Vikings that can be complex and you got nine guys up at the line and they're moving guys around and so kind of stuff. You can if you get a first there, you complete a pass.
Get a run get up on the line. You force them to be a little more simplistic. It's hard. For us as a really good job of getting in those checks sometimes, but it's hard for them to to be that complex down to down. Every single play if you're going up tempo if you want to force a team of defense to be a little more simplistic. Tempo I think makes makes the most sense for me. So from an offensive side of the ball. That's what we're looking for more than more than the mix. I do think they should be a little more pass heavy. It's can can you get the ball moving and then can you go tempo to force them into more simple. And then even then like tempo is not like a we're getting up on the ball. We're snapping it really. It's not like this is like the chip Kelly ball stuff like we're not doing that. It's get up on the ball. Then you can take a step back if you want to and check. You're still varying tempo when you get up to the line. But if you force them to react to you and they can't substitute they got to get in base looks to me. That's that's kind of how you how you deal with a defense like this. And the packers have done that occasion with the Vikings. I think they really need to lean into it. Lean into it here with some of them. Question. We'll say question marks they have in the interior offensive line right now.
Generous way of putting it. Yeah. All right. Next question we've got Ed stack season opener prop bets. So this will be fun. Yeet cannon will lead the packers running backs in yardage. But we'll gain fewer than 60 yards. Packers defense will have at least two sm two sacks. And smack will not miss any field goals or P.A. T attempts and it's just so you know Ed putting sacks right by smack is not very easy for me. So let's avoid that for the next one. But very good question. So we got some prop bets from Ed. So Sarah will start with you. We'll just do each one and see what all three of us think. So we've got yeet cannon will lead all packers running backs in yardage but fewer than 60 yards. So I think he will but who have more than 60 yards. But not by much. I'm thinking 75 ish. Yeah. I'm I'm taking the over on both just because what the hope would be that Lloyd can break one of them for at least like somewhat of a good distance.
I don't know if like doubted down consistency, but I think he gets over 60. I would agree with you guys. I think there's going to I think he's going to break one for a big for a big touchdown. So I'm going. I'm going big and going over 100 yards for him. Well, it. Packers defense will have at least two sacks. I'm going under. I think they're going to just get out one. Yeah. I'm going to take the over or at least a push I think and that's because I think they played packers have always played Murray well and one of the things they do they do really job of compressing the pocket. So some of those Murray sacks will just be he will get flushed and he'll run himself into trouble. Sometimes he just gets uncomfortable in the pocket. So I think the approach will be roughly the same. I think they get I'll say a push. I think they get to they're not going to go nuts, but I think they get to. I'll take the over. I mean, I feel like week one weird weird things happen. And there's going to be some miscommunication and you know, there's going to be whether it's a, you know, blown coverage, whether whatever it is, but you know, there can be a weird thing on the offensive line as well.
So. And as you said, you know, he does like to run around quite a bit and get himself into trouble and Lucas Van S has shown that he's got that closing speed even on the quick quarterbacks. So, oh, yeah, I'm a beginning of the season glass half full kind of guy right now. The season hasn't hasn't gotten me like like we've always said I'm ready to be hurt again. So I think I you know, I'm just in that positive mindset. And the last one, smack will not miss any field goals or PAT attempts. I think that's true. I'm going bold here. I've been a smack supporter all spring and summer. So I have to see it through now. For the sake of being different, I'll say false. I do, but I will I want to believe true. But I don't know man, we're riding too high on this season. Believe in believe dusty and there was, I know there's too many because what's going to happen we talk last week about like there's nothing nothing more. I love the like long snapper drama. He's going to miss his first one and it's going to set people off.
But it is going to go great goodness. Why they ever cut Cal out of might as they'll be shouting for the rooftop. So I'll say false just for just a drama drama. Yeah, I was going to say there's a guy it's going to I feel like it's going to happen. I feel like there it's got to be week one. Have a little bit of drama. So I will say yes, I believe he's going to miss he's going to miss a PAT just to make people really annoyed. I could also see I would love if it's like end of the first half like I try 68 yarder and he's missing 68 yarder. I can do it might as well. So I could also see that that missing that scenario that'd be fun. Yeah, that one wouldn't bother me too much. All right, Brian Hartstead. Oh, also we have to reply to Ed Stack as well because he did ask us a question about the Oreo chicken burger from China. We did we did talk about that a couple of weeks ago. Nobody really would want. Sorry, Sarah and I would not want to try it. I trust the just these the weird ones like oh, yeah, I'm not a coward. I'll try it. Okay, anyway.
That's some word choice right there. Yeah, that's okay. Brian Hartstead, what part of the Packers game are you most curious about? So we counted this a little bit, but this kind of encompasses the entire game. So anything you're curious about, maybe not the offensive side of the ball versus the Vikings running game offensive line play pass rush. And I got to say Brian, we love you. Had you on the show like as a co-host, we asked you. We always try to answer your questions. It's always got good ones, but my God. This is the worst start to cut that you've ever sent us. And it's just because of the options because they're all horrible. It's a start to cut candy corn, circus peanuts and black licorice. None. Hold the team. Hold that. We have to ask that we have to wait for Dusty. Dusty might have, he might have his old man answer of like, well, I love candy corn. No, no, I was going to say burn them off, but then you got to smell them. There's no good options here. There's no good options.
This is true. All bad. I was going to start candy corn, sit black licorice and cut circus peanuts just because circus peanuts. I can't the texture of those like makes you want to throw up. There's no good option. Correct. Yeah. We'll be right back. Is there anything outside that you're curious of? I mean, we took care of the important one. That was Brian's most disgusting. Yeah, it's just caught everything. I looked at his question and I forgot the first half existed. I was just like, you're so disgusted by the second half. Are we done or are we on to the next question? Can we just stop recording? I don't want to talk about this anymore. I pass Rush, just defense in general. I'm excited about it. I think it was some of the stuff Ganon showed. It sounds like he said he's holding some stuff back. They can show for the Viking. I'm excited to see whether it's pass rush or not. I'm just excited to see how this defense looks. What he brings out. So I do think he's a guy who will bring out something slightly different every single week. And I'm excited to see what the first iteration looks like. That's what I am pretty excited to watch this week. Sarah, anything for you? Yeah, I'm just really excited to see the Packers. Like I said, they're weapons on offense, fully healthy and weak one. I mean, it's been a while. It feels like at least to me.
It's been a while since Jadenery, Christian Watts, and Tucker Kraft all out there at the same time. And so it'll just be exciting knowing who's Jordan Love is going to go to. What are they drawing up? Because at times, there was moments in the season last year where it just felt like, okay, this is going to Tucker Kraft. Okay, this is going to Romeo and Adolfs because the options were limited. People were out. So to have all of them available week one is, it's true. It feels like we're in for a treat. I'm excited about it. And then kind of a bonus. Second thing that I'm looking forward or just curious about. It's not necessarily Packers related. But Steve, you mentioned it earlier. It's just what the heck Kyler Murray is going to look like. I think he's a huge question mark. Kevin O'Connell has a reputation for kind of bringing some of these quarterbacks who look like their careers are maybe done back to life a little bit. And I just am curious to see what he looks like. You know, I think there's very dynamic aspects of his game that can really make a team
pay. Whether he still has those, I don't know. So I'm just curious to see what that looks like too. I want to see the special teams. I want to see if they can get positive yardage. I want to see a punt return for plus yards. I want to see a kickoff return. You know, that T-Shot Nixon doesn't take over a top of his head. Like, I just want some regular special teams play, man. Like that's, I don't feel like I'm asking for a lot. So I think it, I'm excited just to see regular, see the football like all the stuff you guys have talked about. I'm jacked up. Like it's going to be so much fun. I want to see Watson and Golden and Reed and Tucker Kraft and John who Smith and all these guys all running together. I want to see what it looks like. And I want to see what, what Ganon can bring for this defense and how they can handle it without my like a million things I want to see, but I want to see a kick return. I want to see the factors actually get something good, not have it be the red headed stepchild of every team that we've seen for the last five years. So that is what I'm looking forward to.
All right, next one. We have got to match picket this week, which receiver do you think will lead the team in yards and what one will lead in receptions further? Well those same players also have the leads for their full season totals food question. What's a food with great flavor and an okay texture and vice versa? It's quite the in depth question there. But Dessie, we'll start with you on this one. We want to use the leader in yards and receptions yards, Watson receptions golden. And I think that holds for for the season. I do think that holds a we mentioned before. I mean, the floor is mentioned golden as the X kind of taken over the dogs role. I think that's what that seems like that's going to happen. I think he's going to get a lot of targets on his way. So I think that's feels like the whole idea of simplifying the off and simplifying some of their roles is to kind of fit them in these boxes. They could do different things, but their main role is going to be rough with same, which
puts golden for the receptions. So I'll go with that food with great flavor and okay texture. I'm going to go yogurt. It's thick slime, but the best yogurt is delicious. And I don't I don't know that I have one. Yeah, there's times. I don't know if you guys are like this. There's times to have eating yogurt. I start noticing the texture halfway through. I got through it away. I'm just I can't do this anymore. I realize I've become self-aware and now I have to get ready. I'm just kidding. That's what I'm doing. I can't eat this. Or if you have slightly sometimes my issue is all you know have it in the morning and I think I you know my eyes are bigger than my stomach and I spoon maybe one or two too many and then I'm like halfway through and this is why am I doing this to myself? This is too much. Yeah, and then you gotta take a break for a little bit. Yeah, I don't I don't have an answer for vice versa. I just I had yogurt and I didn't think pass that. Okay. All right. I also think that Watson will lead the team in yards. I'm going to go with Jane Reed and receptions.
I think Reed is going to be hungry and they're going to have some stuff designed for him. Will those same players also have the leads for their full season totals? I think Watson. I don't think Reed. So that's that. Food with a great flavor and an okay texture. I'm going to go banana. I love banana. I think it's great flavor, but that's another one where the degree of ripeness is off. I get a little weirded out and the texture I start thinking about the texture too much. I don't know if this is a weird answer for the vice versa, but I'm going rice. Rice doesn't really have much flavor, but the texture always hits. I love rice. That's probably my carve of choice if I'm you know cooking dinner. But there's not really any flavors, especially if you're just having white rice. But that was part, the second half of the question is. You can't put salt and pepper and butter in your rice. Well, I do, but still if it's just, I mean, I've got to put a bit of your tongue white and you're like rice on its own.
And it's on the maris. It's just, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm not crazy. Like even when I make white rice, I'll put garlic, salt, other stuff in there or if I'm doing more like a taco bowl, I'm putting cilantro with some lime and salt. But still rice is pretty stargy. That's what it is. It's a texture hits. Okay. Let's see here we get. I'm going to say that I believe it's going to be Watson in yards and Tucker Kraft in receptions. And I honestly think that's what's going to be like at the end of the season too. So I think they're all going to be similar pretty close, but feels like Kraft is at really scary blanket for Jordan Lovin, especially if they're going to let him cook. That's definitely one food that's great flavor and okay texture. I will say, I'm going to say oysters. I love the flavor of an oyster, but my God, half the time when it's going down the
gallet, you're like, I can't eat it because of the texture. So that's a great answer. Yep. And then what do we got? Okay flavor and good texture. I don't know what that is. I got nothing to that one. So. Okay. We got a couple more questions here. First one is right from Blue Sky. This one is straight up for Dusty. I'm not even going to attempt this. This is from Jennifer Curtin. Please discuss how Mark Redmond is going to be this. And it's that flex tape dudes smack in a hole of a leak and fixing it. So Dusty tell us how Mark Redmond is going to be the fix to the Green Bay Packers problems. I love him so much. I don't know how much you've seen of him, just in his interviews or anything. He feel he's just such a big dopey dude. I love him to death. But he's just he's got a couple things on the field. He does extremely well, but it's a limited skill set.
But it's very useful. They don't have a guy like this. This was like, he's a younger Mercedes Lewis. Essentially what he is. He will block in line. He will mall people in the run game. If you ask him to block on the move, you ask him to move more than five yards down the field. He can't do it very well. But he'll mall you. He's going to wash you down. Like there's so many reps of him as the end man on the line of scrimmage. And they say block down this defensive end. Like a big dude. He's washing them three gaps over. So from what they're doing, if they're wanting to run, if they're wanting to pass his pass pro is also pretty good. If you've got issues on the edges, I'm curious about this week, just with depending on the guard situation, it susses out that that's a different things are you're coming up the gaps there. But as far as from the outside, he is a guy who can really help chip stuff. That's I mean, that's something that they don't really have a guy that's good as far as chipping on the edge. Outside of craft, but you're trying to get him out and routes a little more. But he could he can hold up in pass pro. He's not necessarily like a tackle. He's not like prime grunk or anything like that. He'll hold up perfectly on pass pro and wash a guy down the line in the run game.
So they don't have with the way the line has gone. They don't only have mallers on the line anymore, but Redmond is a maller. And if you're asking him to run or pass block. So I'm pretty excited to see what he could do. I went from concerned about the tight end room and then they got Redmond and I watched a few Redmond games. I was like, OK, all right, this guy can do the things that you're going to want to do extremely well and then everything else he just finds out. So I do think he's going to fit in really, really nicely into this. He'll get some check down stuff. He'll have 15 receptions on the year, maybe, but he's a maller. I think he's going to do really well in front of the line. All right. Sounds good. Next one. I'm sorry. Do you have any liquor rankings that was her in parentheses? Do you have liquor rankings that you'd like to drop for her? I don't I don't. I want you know, went to the liquor store this past week and all I got was pumpkin beer. That's all I came away with. So that's where my head's at. It's the pumpkin out yet. Pumpkins out. Oh, that was so good. All right. Next one. A penny needed to lab facing off against a Vikings with a new starting quarterback against the
Packers with a new defensive coordinator, which team would have the advantage in this situation starts it cut traditional Minnesota foods. Juicy Lucy hot dish fried walleye. I didn't include loot fisc, which is not food. It's compost. Now I just want to make sure everybody knows what juicy Lucy and hot dish are. Yeah, hot dish is like a casserole. Yeah, but thing, right? Yeah. Okay. Okay. Juicy Lucy is a hamburger basically the cheese on the inside. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. I know what I'm starting. I'll tell you that right now. Go ahead. Well, let's do it. Just starting juicy Lucy. We're sitting fried walleye or cut not dish. That is the correct answer. Yes. Yeah, I'm with you guys. All right. Great. And then Dusty who has a better advantage in this situation. Facing off against the Vikings with the new starting quarterback against the Packers with a new DC.
I mean, really, and at the new DC thing is weird because Ganon was the head coach in Arizona. So he knows him pretty well. So I mean, I'm going to go ahead and say advantage Ganon right now. I think the quarterback matters because we don't know what Ganon's going to do necessarily. I know O'Connell has the has the whole like QB whisper thing, which, you know, quite as it's kept the floors been better on that front with the times we've had to see that. But he has done a good job. But I just think the inside knowledge of Ganon knowing Murray's tendencies, that feels that feels like a tough ask for the Vikings kind of that out the game. Yeah. I'm with you. I also think it's. Yes, the defensive coordinator changes big, but I think the quarterbacks is that's everything. That's who's running your offense. And they've had trouble finding stability at that position. And it's going to continue to be a journey for them where as the unit, as a defense for the Packers, they can probably come together and figure it out a little bit quicker. Okay. Sounds good.
Let's see. We've got one more. Both Adam and Matt have stated the aren't sure who's going to play on the offensive line. This week, this is just gamesmanship, right? Everyone's favorite season is nearing Sarah. This is this is for you. I'm I'm almost tempted just to say skip the football question because this is how important. This for Sarah. No, you can do the football question. You guys do it first and then I'll come. Everyone's favorite season is nearing soup season with that in mind. Starts it cuts soup with rice edition. Oh, damn it. I can't pronounce this thing again anymore. Avgolamano. Avgolamano stuffed pepper soup or creamy chicken and rice. So Dusty, let's start with you. Is it just gamesmanship? I want to believe it, but I don't think it is. We talked last week, Sarah. You and I talked about Bacchabewelli talking about the ask him like, how are you doing?
He's like, I hope I'll be out there week one. Banks, it's been kind of weird and quiet on that front a little bit. And also beyond that, the Packers have had in the past, I mean, I don't think last year, but they have in the past they've swapped guys out at positions like mid game. They'll do like the, they'll do the rotations. You get a drive, I get a drive and that goes back for a while. They've been doing that. So I don't think it's, they're made. I'm sure there's a little bit of gamesmanship. I really don't know. I think they're a little torn on those guys' health. Bacchabewelli is a starter if he's healthy. Like I, I think that's, we know that. But as far as banks, I don't think they're sold on that. Even with the little like reworking extension they gave them. So I'd say maybe a little bit of gamesmanship, but I do think those statuses are still very much up in the air. So that's kind of where I sit with it. And I'm opting out of the soup question. My choice. Hit us with the soup. OK. I mean, I would start all three of these. These are all excellent choices. But I'm going to start stuff pepper soup. I love stuff pepper soup.
I would like to share a disclaimer that if you're cooking stuff pepper soup and you're putting giant chunks of green pepper compared to the other peppers and things that are in there, stop doing that. I every time I see a picture of a recipe where it has giant chunks, the chunks of your vegetables in your soup, the ratio should be similar. Like they should be either diced all diced or if you want longer strips, that just bothers me period. So I don't know. I just have to say that because I feel like more than anything else, stuff pepper soup is where I see these wacky ratios of vegetables. Anyways, so, but still excellent soup. The noodles excellent. So starting that I'm sitting creamy chicken and rice. This is one of my favorite soups. It's also very easy to make. It's basically chicken noodle soup. Swap the noodles for rice, add a little heavy cream in there. And you maybe add a little bit of a Italian seasoning and you've got an excellent soup.
Also just great for pairing with other dishes. So you can have a nice salad with that. You can have a nice sandwich, whatever it may be. And then avocado mono, I think that's how you say it. I always get it confused too. Love that one, but I have to cut it just because I have it the least. I also don't make this soup very often where the others are in the rotation, easy to make. This is where you just have to have a good Greek place near you and know that they have that, like lemon drop type of soup and it has a shredded chicken, really nice and tender in there. Because you're just be, you're not going to make it as good at home. That's one of those where it's not a homemade soup in my opinion. Unless you're your Greek and you have a good recipe. And if so, then DM me please and I'll try it out. All right. I got bullied into this last question. I didn't want to do it, Dave. I'm sorry. I'm not even sorry. But here we go.
Dusty was on your side this time. So you have at this one, Dusty. So well, the following players be full participants, limited participants or sit out week one, Tucker Kraft, Zach Bakko Bewele, Aaron Banks follow up. Do you think if they are limited or sit out that it is because they're playing on turf? And if so, will the caution extend to week two in the meta lands, which has a notorious turf field reputation? Food question, what are you breaking out to eat for the Vikings game that you haven't had since the Packers were eliminated from the playoffs last season? Have fun, Dusty. Hey, Steve, I was wondering if you could read that with me, be a little more disdain in your voice. If that's, if that's possible, I read this question. Dave, I fought for you, man. Yeah, I think, I mean, we talked about the lineman already. I think Tucker Kraft, I think probably would be limited participant, but he's going to fight them.
So I think he's a full participant. Bakko Bewele, I am going to wish cast and say full. Aaron Banks, I think limited partially because that he said, an injury history and also maybe because they want to get some of the looks at guards, potentially, maybe they want to swap some guys out. I feel like maybe he's maybe a little further back. That's kind of where I sit with that. I don't think maybe I'm maybe I'm wrong here. I don't think this has anything to do with the turf field. I don't think it extends a week too. I think I think whatever the status is this week unless it's re injury, they're doing full the next week as well. I don't think one informs the other. That was a big deal. I mean, that's still talked about a bit. I know the Packers have had some history with that. I don't think that's going to come into play here. Food question. I mean, I don't know man. Wings, I usually don't even wings unless it's football season. So I'm going or probably some wings. That's that's my thing. There we go. I'm right. Well, guys, Packers football, what's upon us? Oh, yeah. Hell, yeah. Thank you guys again for all the questions that got us through this off season.
It's been we've still had a blast doing this stuff. Like, you know, we get to take off a little time and he abbreviated time for the draft this year. But, you know, we still get to take it a little time, but we still have so much to cover just from you guys and your questions and your ideas and everything. So thank you again for doing that before we get out and get right into this NFL season week one. We'll do our closing thoughts. So Dusty, what do you got for us? Man, trying to get ready for stuff. I got Mark right up on Mark Redmond. I was up last week at APC. That's up. You can read that now. I might be. Might be writing something else. I did a thread on Twitter and Blue Sky. We'll see if I end up writing about this or not. I'm tracking a long snapper location this year because I was curious because people got mad about Orzick and Adam might as so as curious where those snaps hit on the holder versus where they should hold it. So I might do something on that before, but that's certainly something I'll be doing at least every few games during the season.
So I'm excited about that. And then I got, I mean, other stuff going on us. So maybe that, maybe that I'll write that up. Maybe I'll do some kind of preview. I don't know, but I'm recording, as you listen to this and recording today with Andy. I'm going to be doing something with him every week. That's going to hit on Thursdays. So we're starting that this week. I don't know what that's going to be about. Yeah, but I'm excited about that. And just got announced, I think a few days ago, I'm doing something with Nagler every week during the season as well. We're dusting off the Packers Playbook thing that I did with Koon for a couple of years. That was dormant last year. But Nagler hit me up and said he want to talk about nerd football stuff for a bit. And so we're going to be doing that weekly after the season starts. So we touched base on that this past week. I'm really hyped about that. So after the first game of the season, we'll launch into that. I think that'll probably be Tuesdays or Wednesdays after each game. But I'm excited about that. So nothing a lot this week, but starting next week, everything around himself. So I'm pretty excited about the season. We, Sarah, how about you? Yeah. Just thank you to everybody who stuck with us through the off season. Enjoy it.
It's the best time of the year, whether you're a college football fan and a fell fan, both. This is, this is the time that we want to get to every year. Season starts to change. Holidays come. The good food, the comfort foods, footballs on on the TV all weekend. So just enjoy it because before we know it, we're going to be in February again, counting on the days to work back here next year. So just save every moment possible. And be kind. Man, everybody's so angry about their sports teams these days. Just be kind. Enjoy it. Yes. I, I want 100% agree. Trace Max, get a miss a kick at some point, guys. OK. It's going to happen. You don't need to blow up his DMs and all that kind of stuff. Like this is, this is supposed to be a fun thing. So let's say, Sarah said, let's enjoy this. But yeah, again, this is just a huge thank you to everybody because, you know, without you, we wouldn't do, we wouldn't be doing this podcast. Like we want to know the things that you guys want to talk about.
And that's why I thoroughly enjoyed it. So we get to connect with you guys all the time. So thank you. Make sure you're following us on Twitter. That's at Dusty Evli at Sarah Keller for at Steve Perhatch and at Packet a podcast. The last closing thought I have to say is that I'm very excited because I've found out this week that Sarah Keller is going to be in Milwaukee at the end of September. So we get to do a little hangout session. That's awesome. So very cool and excited for that. But thank you guys for listening. We will be back next week. And as always, go, Peck, go.
