In Miami, air and road traffic on Labor Day Sunday was interrupted by an Amazon cargo plane crash that killed at least five people and left several more injured. Kavan Antonio Hidari has more from Miami. Prime air flight 7598 from San Juan Overshotter runway at Miami International Airport and hit several vehicles on an axis road near the airport. Miami data officials confirmed at least five dead and five more were injured. Fire chief Raja Dallas said rescue vehicles were on site within 30 seconds of the incident. The airplane did strike a couple of vehicles that required a couple of victims that were actually trapped in the vehicles. So a complex extrication with our technical rescue teams started to occur. The airport has reopened after a ground stop, but operations will be affected at least to Monday. The FAA and NTSB are both conducting an investigation. 1:01In Germany, the far right alternative for Germany party has won the most votes in a closely watched regional election. Exit polls currently show the party to have a lead of about 25 percentage points, but as Esme Nicholson reports, it's unclear whether the AFD has enough seats to govern. Speaking to public broadcasters said the FAAFD federal leader Alice Vidal said Chancellor Friedrich Merz's conservative Christian Democrats will never win another election. We're seeing explosive growth here, she said, referring to the state of Saxony and Halt. We're going to see explosive growth across all of East Germany and at the federal level too, she said. The AFD candidate responsible for that growth is Orish-Sigmond, a former salesman with a radical platform promising mass deportations. The segregation of refugee children in schools and closer relations with Russia and the MAGA movement in the US. While it's not yet clear whether the AFD can rule outright, Ziegmond declared we have written history and thanked Friedrich Merz for being a very good campaigner for the

2:02AFD. For NPR News, I'm Esme Nicholson in Berlin. Officials in Hawaii are urging residents there to prepare for heavy rains and flooding as Hurricane Lowell moves past the archipelago. A tropical storm warning is now in effect for Kauai County, it goes down to Kauai and Neheau and because of that we are expecting a tropical storm conditions on those islands. So even though Lowell may not be a direct impact with the eye moving on those islands, we do think that there will still be strong winds or could even be gusts close to Hurricane 4, especially in some of the mountainous areas. Robbie Berger is with the National Hurricane Center. He says Lowell is a category 3 hurricane right now and it could bring as much as 14 inches of rain to some areas. Parts of the big island could receive as much as 10 inches. The rainfall could produce significant flash flooding and landslides right now Lowell is located southwest of the islands.
