She had worked enough overnight shifts in a nursing home to hear every kind of story. Nurses talked about unexplained footsteps in empty hallways, call lights that activated for no reason, and residents who claimed someone had visited them in the middle of the night. Most of those stories were easy to explain away, and she never paid them much attention.

That changed just after three o'clock one morning when a 102-year-old resident—one of the sharpest, most clear-minded people in the entire facility—pressed her call light. She calmly told the nurse that a man had been standing beside her bed. He wasn't threatening. He wasn't angry. He only spoke two words before disappearing.

Moments later, another call came from across the hall. More than twenty-five years later, the nurse still isn't sure what happened that night... but she has never forgotten those two words.
