Welcome back inside our proactive newsroom. And joining me now is Brian Fowler. He is the CEO of North Star Gold Corp. And Brian is great to see again. How are you? I'm well. Thanks, Steve. Hope you're good, too. Yeah, doing very well. And you and I talked back in December that you were beginning a seven-hole drill program and sort of a definition drilling, I guess, is one way to describe it. And you've got the results back now. And I imagine you're pretty happy at what you're seeing here at the camp copper mine. Absolutely. Yeah, in late December, we completed a seven-hole, 1,200-meter drill program, a kind of an infill program testing the down plunge extension of our number two zone at the camp copper mine on our Miller Copper Bowl property, 18 kilometers southeast of Kirkland Lake. And this morning, we announced the drill results. And yeah, we're very pleased to announce some of the high grade intercepts that we've encountered at depth, including 3% copper
and almost 6 grams gold and 23 grams per tonne silver and 1,5% molly over three meters. So this is a pretty astounding actually, highly unexpected and we'll take it. It's a great, great intercept. Brian, what stands out to you the most? Is it the copper number you're seeing, or the gold number you're seeing, or a combination of everything? Combination of everything, Steve. We've got a drilling indicates that this mineralogy is much higher temperature than what we previously intercepted. Prior to this, our best intercept was 14.8% copper over 2.5 meters. And this whole C2514, and this intersection I decided was 50 meters below that. So it indicates that this, we're clearly on a very fertile structure in this VMS system.
And the down plunge, it's display an excellent down plunge continuity and it's actually getting larger in depth. And the metal zoneation characteristics are higher temperature. So we think we're just to tap in the core of something big. So you'll take these results and then and do what with them now? Because I know you've got some sort of desktop work that you have to do as well. That's right. Yeah, we're gonna complete our geological model on this. This will be provided to a micron international limited who are a consortium partner with North Star in our surgical mining initiative. And they're gonna put together a resource estimate and I thought if you want technical report, this will be provide basis for another look by Nova Mera to apply their analysis and establish some economic projections based on this.
And yeah, this will all provide further basis for North Star obtaining a mining permit and being able to embark on a surgical mining program on the camp copper here as early as next year. Yeah. Are you looking at potentially doing any more drilling on that zone two area? Because you found some stuff that probably gave you some more thought on that. So were you looking at maybe doing a few more holes within there? Absolutely. This thing's wide open. And we are working towards a surgical mining initiative and completing that. We're very pleased to be participating with that. But this intercept shows that clearly things are getting better with depth and we can be on something much larger and hopefully it will be something that could eventually potentially support
a much larger and more conventional underground operations. So it's early days, but these results clearly bowed well from a surgical mining standpoint and just further illustrates the exploration and down plunge potential of the camp copper polymetallic VMS mineralizing system. All right, Brian, we'll leave it there. Congratulations on this. Good to see you again. We'll talk soon, okay? You bet. Thanks Steve. Have a good day. You as well. Brian Fowler, the CEO of North Star Gold Corp.
