Today marks 25 years since the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. A new Pew Research Center survey finds most Americans vividly remember that day. As 83% of adults were born before 2001 say they were called with clarity. Exactly where they were. A what they were doing when they heard the tragic news. You've been hearing the stories all morning long with Eric Scott. Meanwhile, the number of American adults who did not experience that day continues to rise as the attacks grow more distant. 10% of adults today were born after 2001 and only know about the attacks through what they have learned from others. From dusk to dawn, twin beams of light will shine four miles into the sky at ground zero. The 9-11 tribute in light was first presented six months after the attacks. And has been illuminated every year since it could be seen from a 60 mile radius around the city.

1:03The 9-11 Memorial Museum, which presents the tribute in light calls it an iconic symbol that both honors those killed and celebrates the unbreakable spirit of New York. In other news, Princeton police were looking for mask wearing thieves who broke into an upscale store and left with over a quarter million dollars worth of Birken Chanel. Another high end person, the owner of Princeton bag archive posted surveillance video of the break it on social media saying that thieves snatched a picture of the city. The owner of the store was saying that thieves snatched about 75 purses off the store's walls within minutes around 1.30 last Tuesday. The boutique was open for business and late June and will remain closed for one or two weeks while restocking and replacing broken glass local police say they're working with other law enforcement agencies to find the crux. A new study shows alcohol may play a greater role in many cancer deaths than previously known. Researchers at the University of Miami Cancer Center say the percentage of cancer deaths linked to alcohol consumption has risen over 58% in people ages 20 and older over the last three decades.

2:03That applies to breast prostate stomach, liver, rectal colon and pancreatic cancer as well as neck and head cancers. The lead author says it takes just one standard drink a day to boost cancer risk and that means five ounces of wine, 12 ounces beer or one and a half ounces of 80 proof liquor.
