What's right with Nick Wright episode 498 as we finish off our week of NFL picks, NFL predictions, our week of shows that get us all. Our preseason takes lockdown on the TV show. We call it First Things First Predictions Week. This is for, you know, we have a document. We track them at the end of the year. We do a full accounting of wins and losses. Two years, three years ago, we won a lot. Two years ago, we lost tiny. Last year, we got, as my buddy Naccio would say, crum-ostified. Last year, we just got Wimbusled. Last year, you guys had bullied me out of putting so much stake in the Jags. They end up winning 13 games. You didn't bully me out of putting so much stake in the Chiefs.

They won six. I believed in the box. They fell apart. It was last year was a bloodbath. Just no way around it. We put a ton of stock in the Steelers falling apart. They won the division. Last year was a travesty. But it is what it is. We rebound. We move forward. Demons, they're good to see you. How are you? Good to see you, pops. Ready to win some bets. I'm good. How you doing? Yeah. Yes. So here's the deal. By the way, this episode of What's Right? I think right now is presented to you by Booz Mobile and a reminder, everyone. Like, rate, subscribe, and review to the show. Before we, as we are right on the cusp of a quarter to a million on YouTube. So if you could help us there, it'd be great. Also, I do in Spotify. I don't have the exact numbers, but I think they're good. Before we get to our actual, you know, picks, if we did the overunders over the course of the week, I do want to do one Ravens topic because when we did the AFC win toles, I said I have the Ravens having the number one seed in the AFC.

So let's discuss it. Go ahead. Yeah. On Tuesday, it sounds like you said that you like my Ravens a lot. As you said, going to the number one seed. First of all, welcome to the flock, but I just want to ask what brings you here? Well, a lot of things. So I do think they need to make a change in head coach. So I think that is a positive change. I think that Jesse Mentor, listen, he's a first time head coach, but I think historically, the floor for the awesome young defensive coordinator is actually pretty high as a first time head coach. I don't know if the ceiling is as high as awesome young offensive coordinator, kind of quarterback whisperer type, but I'm not saying he's going to have a mic McDonald level impact on Seattle, but I think he'll be very good. And I think the Ravens were, you know, John Harball's message had grown stale. So that part, I have, I've retired from doubting Derek Henry.

I just expect, okay, he'll just be great again. So I think that's good. Lamar, kind of a triple chip on his shoulder. The play, you know, all of these quarterback rankings have been disrespecting him. And he hasn't gotten his new contract. And he had his first ever bad year last year, unless he's just truly, you know, on the downslope, I think he bounces back. I don't love the teams in their division that much. I don't love Cincinnati as much as other people do. I'm probably further down on Pittsburgh than most. And the Browns are the Browns. So all of those things, you know, go in their favor. I did like the Tray Hendrix in addition. I still think there's an outside chance they still end up trading for Max Crosby or make a mid-season addition. I think the defense will be much better than it was last year. And Lamar, over the last four years,

three years, four years has been the most reliable regular season player in the league. Well, Josh maybe has been a little more reliable. I don't know, but Lamar's been consistently excellent last year, not with standing. So for all those reasons, I just really like the Ravens in the regular season, which I don't bring you to a follow-up question. So you don't believe in us and contenders in the postseason. You think there will still be limitations, but just as far as the regular season. Listen, getting the number one seed super helpful, and then you have one less playoff game. Now they've had it twice and I haven't been able to cash in with a super old worth with it since Lamar's been there. Um, I still, yes, I still have, I'm still squeamish about the Ravens come the playoffs, but the other thing is this, Domazet, if you guys beat Dallas at home in week three, I just don't see any, it's going to be very hard for you not to start six and up.

You're at the cults, home for the Saints, home for the Cowboys, home for the Titans, at the Falcons, at the Browns. Now I know the Browns play you guys tough actually, but still. So I think six and oh start can win, did I say 13 or 14 games, 13 games, and be the one seed. So yeah, I mean, I still have, I know historically, the Ravens are slow starting team, but I think that coming off the way last year ended, plus the energy of the new head coach, we'll see how good Declan Doyle is. They like to say flowers more than I do, but still. So for all those reasons, I like the Ravens. Now, as we said yesterday, we, uh, we have a new predictions market sponsor. It's polymarket. I want to, for folks that aren't familiar to how to translate, polymarket odds to what you're more familiar with as far as plus or minus money odds.

Let me give you the very simple way to do it. So we'll use the Ravens as an example. Right now on polymarket, if you wanted to pick trade the Ravens or pick the Ravens, to be the number one seed in the AFC, that is trading at 17%. But what does that mean for you? Okay? So the way to do this, the way to figure out what the number, the math on this is, and I will really hit this for you guys over the course of the season. What is the difference? Whatever you're trading, take the opposite side of it. So if it's 17%, the opposite is what? 83 as far as the yes, no, on 100% thing. You know what? Let me explain it better. Whatever percent you are trading at, subtract that from 100. So 100 minus 17 is 83.

Okay? And then whatever that number is, you just do that number divided by the number you're trading. So this would be again, that sounds complicated, but once I give it to you in practice, you'll see it. 83 divided by 17. Okay? That is 4.88. So that means in traditional, you know, plus minus odds, you are on polymarket getting them at plus 4.88. Does that make sense? So let's use it. So if you are trying to buy something, demand say that's trading at 10%. You would do 90 divided by 10. That's obviously 9.00. So you're getting plus 900. If you're trading, if trying to trade something, that's it 20%. You would do 80 divided by 20. That's plus 400. You try to trade something at 50%. You do 50 divided by 50. That's one. That's even money.

Trying to trade something that's trading at 75%. Okay? You would do 75 divided by 25, but it's minus 300 instead of plus 300, because you're betting the favorites. That. So here is where it is very important if you're going to do this. And I, again, this is one of our first shows of polymarket to product I've used for a long time for futures stuff. The little bitty percentage things matter, even if it doesn't feel like they do. So again, if you're going to do this, even though, and I've explained this to people for a long time, nobody should be looking at this as, hey, this is going to be a second job. This is how I'm going to actually, you know, I'm going to pay down the mortgage this month. This is to have, this is for entertainment purposes and to have fun, but it's also nice if you can end up more than breaking even, win a little bit. And that is where these things really matter.

So to Monzy, let me ask you this question. I'm not even, I'm just going to talk to you, talk you through it. Yeah. I don't want to set you up. The, the, if you see something is trading at 2%, you're like, oh, I like it there. Uh-huh. And then you're like, I'll check it out tomorrow. And then you see that it's trading at 3%. Like, okay, so I still like it. I am here to tell you the difference between those two numbers is so massive. So think about it. Think about the math I just told you guys to do. But something that's trading at 2% pays you 49 to 1. 98 divided by 2 is 49. So it's, you know, plus 4900. Something that's trading at 3% pays you 33 to 1. 97 divided by 3 is, you know, 3.333. So it is, if you are, if you are trying to trade on something,

that is a long shot. Those tiny little percentage point differences matter huge. If you're trying to trade on something that's a huge favorite, the little percentage point differences don't matter a lot. Like, it's like, if you're going to bet on something that's 80% likelihood, or pick something trade on something that's 80% likely good, and it moves to 81, that's not a huge difference at all. That's going to be getting, you know, minus 400 and minus 408 or something. But if you're thinking about trading on something that's 1%, and it moves to 2%, now all of a sudden, you've been cut in half. You go from getting 99 to 1 to getting 49 to 1. So those are, so that, again, if you're going to do it, you really have to see what you're doing here. And so that, so we are going to, in respect to, you know, our new prediction market, sponsor, polymarket, talk you through that over the course of the year for our pick show, which we do every Friday, but also translate it to kind of the way we're more

traditionally see it, okay? So we're going to do our division winners picks from that here in a moment. But first, do you ever notice how everything keeps going up, rents going up, streaming services are going up? Your favorite burrito spots, charging you extra for sols, it's outrageous. But with Boost Mobile, you and your phone bill don't have to play. You will this go up soon game. Why? Because Boost Mobile has unlimited talk, tax and data plan at a price that'll never go up. In fact, it's the same price you paid for life. So switch now for unlimited wireless at a price that'll never go up only at Boost Mobile. After 30 gigs, customers may experience slower speeds, customers will pay $25 per month, as long as they remain active on the Boost Unlimited Plan. You know the feeling. You make a pick in your fantasy draft in the entire room, groans because they wanted that player. Or you grab a small school rookie off waivers and you start him right before he goes off in prime time. There's no better feeling than crushing your fantasy football league.

Listen to the Solid Verbal College football show on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, Demonze. I'm going to tell the audience real quick if they didn't hear it last week. The eight teams that I have winning their divisions, but that doesn't mean that these are teams all eight that I'm putting money on. But I have the bills, the Ravens, the Texans, and the Chiefs winning their division. So to repeat, no, in fact, only one reap, no, you know what? That's crazy.

Zero of those teams won their division last year. Fills came in second, Ravens came in second, Texans came in second, Chiefs came in third. So those I have four new division winners, even though it doesn't feel like that in the AFC. In the NFC, I have two repeat division winners, two new ones. I have the Eagles who won it last year. The Lions who came in last last year, technically, the Bucks who should have won it, but didn't. And the Seahawks repeating as division champions. So those are the division winner picks, the division winners that we're actually going to put a little teeth behind to tell the audience the first one and its percent chance on Polly Market and I'll talk it through. So AFC North is bought some more at 47%. So again, it's just so everybody can follow what that means. That is an imply, you know, that the 53 divided by 47. So you're getting around plus one 13 on Baltimore to win the division.

You're getting plus money on something that I would be shocked if it doesn't happen. I don't think Pittsburgh has the personnel in Aaron Rodgers turns 43 this year. 43. His first game is a 43 year old, by the way, is against Domingo Rines and the Texans defense. I don't believe in Cincinnati. Cleveland is Cleveland. So Baltimore, even though I'm only getting, you know, plus one 13, Baltimore to win the AFC North. Next. AFC West or Kansas City at 36%. So again, you probably can figure that out in your head that you're getting a little, a little worse than two to one. 36% is plus one 78. I think the chargers are vastly overrated. And I think the Broncos are very good. But I think there's going to be something of a regression in the one score game stuff. And I think the chiefs are going to win week one in Denver or at home against Denver

and set the tone for the entire division for the entire season. And so because of that, I am, you know, I like Kansas City. They are the favorite to win the division, but they are not a huge favorite to win the division. And so I like Kansas City at 36% getting like plus one 78. I made a late change. I did have the Lions. This is one of these. I took them off there. I'm too squeamish about the health of secondary. I still, they are my pick to win the NFC North, but I'm not going to put money behind it. So let's go to the NFC team that I will put money behind. Got the Tampa Bay Bucks at 35% for the NFC stuff. Yeah. Listen, I know everybody says that this team, this division's wide open and there's no great team. I still believe in Tampa. I don't know what the hell happened to him at the end of last year. They looked so good through the first nine weeks, 10 weeks last season that absolutely fell apart. Baker got banged up. That is right.

That did happen. Baker got banged up. And so 35% are getting a cinch almost two to one. Yes. And so plus 186 essentially is what it translates to. I don't believe in Carolina at Lanna in New Orleans. There's real question marks. Todd Bulls coaching first job. Baker playing for a contract. The Bucks at 35% and then in the NFC Westamons, another 35% and that is Seattle. Yeah, I mean, I just think they are wildly underrated for a Super Bowl champion. That's all. A for a Super Bowl champion that brought almost everybody back that feels like it is disrespectful. And it's not that I don't believe in the Rams. I just think Seattle has earned favorite status even though the Rams made all those additions.

And I think the Rams are a thinner team than Seattle. There is a level of injuries that are somewhat inevitable. And for all those reasons, I like Seattle getting almost two to one to win the division. So that's where I am. I, you know, those are the plays that I am making there. Next week, we have making play, make playoffs. Yeah, let's do, let's do make, let's do make mis playoffs. And these, um, these, yeah, let's do make mis playoffs here. And depending on the price, people can get them at. But go ahead. Well, at first we got Kansas City at 77%. So listen, at 77% that is I would, and I'm going to check right now. At 77%, that's too high of a number. I wouldn't, I'm on polymarket as we speak, because I think that moved. Chiefs playoffs.

The, or at least I'm trying to find it NFL, NFL futures. Sorry, my apologies guys on this. Um, I, if you can get the chiefs around 65%, which I do think at some point you're able to get, um, that is, that's where I think there is value on it. I think the chiefs are a better than two to one favorite to make the, uh, to make the playoffs. And I am, I'm trying to pull up right now exactly where I saw it. The, uh, the, okay, here it is. Thank you guys. There's the link. And so when, Kansas City, so that is Kansas City, playoff qualifiers, click on Kansas City. Yes. Let me just see what happens here. Um, so all right. So right now it's actually, yeah, right now the chiefs are very popular on

polymarket. So I wouldn't do that there. Uh, because you're, you're, you're having delay too much. Um, what's so interesting is, and this is where you really do have to check it out. So the chiefs must, maybe the, maybe the polymarket partnerships are already paying off for our friends. All these chiefs fans, listen to the pod, signed up in the last hour and they're firing on Kansas City. Um, these next three, however, I think you're getting really good prices on. And those are ones that I wanted to discuss. So let's go to the next three teams to monsey. We have making the playoffs. Um, Philly, we've got 57%. You want just all three of them right there. So listen, 57% means it's minus 130. I for Philly to make the playoffs. I love that. I, I wouldn't mind it at 60%, which is minus 150. Um, same thing with Denver, which is the next one at, that's trading at 57%, which is again, it's, that's minus 133 to be exactly.

Um, I, I think they're a buy at minus 140. I just think both those teams have such solid offensive and defensive lines that I really like the, like them to at least have a floor of tennis wins. Now I know Philly, Philadelphia, Philly, Philadelphia doesn't have that floor because it could go to hell for them. But I don't, I don't anticipate it will. And so I like both of them. I'm going to stay away actually, D'Amande. We already have a Chicago over. So we're not going to do, uh, Chicago's, uh, to make the playoffs. As far as the miss the playoffs teams, I am, yeah, I have six teams that I like. And I like the price we can get them, um, to miss the playoffs. So go ahead and let's roll through them. Uh, first you got Minnesota 60%. So Minnesota to miss the playoffs at minus 150.

I don't believe in Kyler. I don't, I think that division is too tough. I don't think the defense will be quite as good. So I will lay some juice there. Minnesota missed the playoffs 60% on Polly Market, which is minus 150. Next. Yeah, Pittsburgh at 63%. So that's, that's, that's minus 170. That's right about the, the upper bound. I wouldn't do it at minus 180. But I think Pittsburgh is the reap. My only trepidation is if I'm right about Cincinnati, not being as good as people think could Pittsburgh slide in there. I just, I would set the over under on Aaron Rodgers starts this year at 12 and a half demands eight. And so the, I just don't, I don't trust that team. So I'm good with them at 63% about minus 170 to miss. All right, we got four more.

We'll do quickly. Um, San Francisco set at 44%. So again, if people, it was 56 divided by 44. So you're getting like plus 128. I, CMC, you saw the efficiency dip last year. Now the overall production was unreal, but it's just they just kept, kept going to them. I think they're going to miss row. Shout out. Shout out. Oh, yeah. It's not that I'm downing Shanahan. Here's the thing that the night, the, the Niners, when they're not good, they really fall apart. So the Niners under Shanahan in reverse order, here's their wins by year. 12, 6, 12, 13, 10, 6, 13, 4, 6. Now, force the first two years, you cut them, so it's like, didn't have the personnel. Um, I just think they're really going to miss, uh,

uh, Salah, I don't love their receiver room. I don't love the off season of the Shanahan car wreck and all that. I don't love starting the year in Australia. I don't love the division. I'll take them to miss. Um, all right. We're going to, we're not doing green Bay. Green Bay is, well, if you, we really, you know what, we will do green Bay. So this, if you really can get this price. So go ahead. Uh, green Bay is that 37%. Yeah, I mean, if you can, if you, if that means you're getting plus 170 on green Bay missing the playoffs. And so green Bay, the chargers and Cincinnati are all trading on Polly Market at around 36, 37, 38%, which is all around plus 170. Um, and other places you're getting way worse numbers. You're going to like plus 120 plus 130 for those three teams. I, I think all, these are all very close.

So again, I have all of these teams winning nine games, I think, which means I could certainly see them winning 10 and making the playoffs. But if I'm getting more than one and a half to one, I'll take them all to miss. So green Bay, 37%, chargers, 38%, Cincinnati, 36%, all getting around plus 170 to miss the playoffs. So those, so again, our to make the playoffs, Philly and Denver both at 57%, Denver, all right, to miss the playoffs, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Green Bay, chargers, Cincinnati. All right. Now, our, you know, one of our, one of our favorites, every year conference winner and Super Bowl exact as and Super Bowl matchup. This year, Demons, I, I'm not cheating, but I am, and I won't call it hedging,

but I guess it kind of is a hedge. Because I am picking two teams to win the NFC. On like, or as far and I will explain it, tell the audience who they are and then I'll explain it. He's got the Eagles at 12% and then the Seahawks at 16%. So again, just so everybody understands what 12% means. So that means I'm getting the Eagles at about plus 730 and I'm getting Philadelphia, which is at 16%. At I think that's, is that exactly the, hold on, sorry, the Eagles, it's, or Seahawks, at five, so five plus five, 25, essentially, to win the conference. So here's my rationale, guys. Okay. I think the, I think the odds makers have overvalued the Rams.

So I think the second and the, the two and three, Infiliate Seattle are undervalued. Does that make sense? I think there's way too much. I think the Rams are great. The Rams can win the Super Bowl. There's no doubt about it. But the Rams are such prohibited favorites that it's pushed everyone else's odds down to a point to where I think Philly is worth it at 12% and the Seahawks are worth it at 16%. And so you're getting, you know, around, you know, five and a half to one on Philly on Seattle, you're getting, you know, eight to one on Philly. I like them both. The AFC, no shocker. I think the Chiefs bounce back in a big way. I think that people have undersold how banged up the offensive line was last year as a piece of what was wrong with Kansas City.

I think that the Kenneth Walker edition will be huge. Now, as far as the offensive line goes, they obviously have to have Josh Simmons who is still missing practice, at least as of today's recording. That is becoming a concern. I am not worried about the defense the way other people are. The young in 2022, they traded away Tyree Kill. They had all these young guys on defense. And by the end of the year, they were a great defense. Mansor Delay, No Williams, Lajerius Sneeback, the Secondary will be fine. And Chris Jones finally, S and Past Russian, juice alongside him and our rookie, our Mason Thomas and Peter Woods. That's where they spent their resources. This offseason was rebuilding the defense. I think Kenneth Walker's going to be great. You have a rookie head coach in Baltimore. You have a rookie head coach in Buffalo. I don't think the Patriots are quite as good as the record was last year. The chargers, the chargers have played the Chiefs twice. The Chiefs all of a sudden have, you know,

I think a very strong defensive tackle rotation that is exactly where the Chargers of the Week is. The Broncos, credit to the Broncos for beating the Chiefs last year. The Broncos last year, in a game they needed at the end of the season against Chris Oledukin and the fourth string chiefs were in a dogfight to the end. I think Kansas City, they don't get the one seed. But I think, and I haven't even mentioned the fact that Patrick Mahomes is going to look like vintage Mahomes. So I have the Chiefs in the AFC. I have the Eagles and the Seahawks from a, you know, good value perspective in the NFC. However, I am only allowed one official Super Bowl pick. And Demons, I trust me on this. I didn't see this coming either. But in a trilogy, part three, Chiefs Eagles in the Super Bowl is my official pick.

And Kansas City wins the rubber match. And for the third time in, what would that be? The third time in five years, these two teams play each other. And that's my official pick. I think you can get that, that exact pick at like 150 to one. You can get the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl at like 6%. So like 16 to one. We're all over all of that. And people can say, oh, Nick, you pick the Chiefs every year. You know what? In Mahomes's career, I do. And because of that, I've gotten the Super Bowl right more than just without anybody. Just the picking the Chiefs every year to win the AFC. They've done it five of the last seven. And to win the Super Bowl, they've done it three of the last seven. I feel pretty good about it. So that, there it is. Do you have an official Super Bowl pick or conference picks or anything you want to give? All stick with Chicago at 4% for the Super Bowl. I shouldn't say winning the Super Bowl because I

do have the Ravens going on the Super Bowl this year. I think this is our year. I mean, if this is not our year, what year is going to be our year? So you have Chicago to win the AFC, which is like 8%. Okay. Yeah. Okay. So yeah, they're going to come out of the AFC, Baltimore to come out of the AFC. I know Baltimore starts low, but I think a new coach will help the start. I don't think they're going to start slow this year. I don't hate those picks at all. And that would be a great, Lamar against Caleb and the Super Bowl would be great. Yeah. Very similar. So listen, I that would be awesome. And it'd be a real changing of the garden a lot of ways.
