A man accused of shooting and killing an Amazon delivery driving near Wentworth says he is guilty of the crime. On Monday, Thomas Koi pleaded guilty to second degree murder and armed criminal action.

2:06He was originally charged with first degree murder. Prosecutors say back in February of 2025, Koi shot Jasmine Taylor with a pellet rifle on Lawrence County Road 2152 near Route 97. She later died of her injuries. All fans of the mother road will hit the highway this week for the Route 66 Association of Missouri's annual motor tour starts in Springfield and ends in Vanita, Oklahoma. That big event kicking off Thursday and running through Sunday. And there are plan stops along the route, including Springfield, Joplin, Carthage and Carterville. 3:12It's great pleasure. Alan Dershowitz his book, why I quit the Dems and so should you, confessions of a reluctant Republican and appreciate you joining us. And I know a lot of our listeners, including myself, have watched this evolution of a number of Democrats, including yourself that have slowly but surely seemingly been disconnected from the Democrat Party. And that obviously is the premise of this book October 7th, being a huge breaking point for you. And I guess if you would just walk us along the journey and what did get you to the point not only to make the declaration, but to encourage others as well to potentially break away. That's a great question. You know, I originally decided to leave the Democrats because I couldn't abide by the squad. The people who spoke at the Democratic National Convention were all anti-American, anti-centrist, radical, anti-Israel people.

4:12And that was not my party. And I decided to be an independent, as my wife decided to be. And she's still an independent, but I now have decided to have become a Republican because I want to make sure the Democrats do not maintain or gain control over the House and the Senate. It would be a terrible thing for America if people like the Liz Warren, which chairman of committees or marquee or chairman of committees or AOC or chairman of committees. And you know, the Senate Schumer who was born testiculee challenge, he has no guts. And I think the Democrats are just hurting America. So I had to make a very difficult decision not only to leave the dams, but to join the Republicans, which was not easy for me. I think that a lot of folks like you, there's a mirror image of perhaps people like me. And I know domestically still your policy preferences are more in line with Democrats,

5:15traditional policy positions as opposed to Republicans. And I'm similar in the sense that I find myself as someone who wants a more fiscally responsive government, less spending, not more without a political party. And so I feel as if I don't really have a home in that context, but think, well, what am I going to do? I've got to support the Republican. And it seems as if traditional Democrats and the smaller government, less spending Republicans have found themselves without a party to some degree. Yeah, but I think there's a movement within the Republican Party toward the center. Look at how they treated Cuttucker Carlson. He has been basically marginalized in the Republican Party. On the other hand, El Said has been embraced and Hassan Paker has been embraced by the Democrats. So there's an enormous difference between how the Republicans dealt with their extremists

6:17and how the Democrats did. And the other reason I have to be Republican and not a Democrat is that if you want to know the future of the country, look, look at college students today. I know because I taught, you know, former presidents, four of the judges of the Supreme Court. I taught them all. And I saw what happened 20 years after I taught them, they became members of Congress, members of the Supreme Court ran for president. And so I see the Democrats taking over the country and they have to be pushed toward the center rather than toward the extreme. And so I'm hoping maybe I could help accomplish that, but I'm homeless too. I don't feel comfortable. Look, I support a woman's right to choose abortion under most circumstances, not all. I do believe in separation of church and state mostly. I, you know, and, and, but I do subscribe to Republican Party policy and Republican policies on the economy.

7:18I strongly believe in a free market economy. I've always been anti socialist, socialism never works. And there's those that's thing is democratic socialism. It's an actually more. What do you think is going to happen with the Democrat Party? I watch these folks like Hakeem Jeffries and others that attempt to dismiss the power of the Democrat Socialists within the party by simply noting, well, we're a big tent. But what they are talking about is in a representation of the Democrat Party, but yet I think it was just this week, maybe a Quinnipiac. It was one of the polls showed that 60% of Democrat voters say they identify as Democrat Socialists now. And on the surface, it appears as if the, the Democrat Party is being run by people who are willfully in denial as to the direction they're headed. What do you think about that relationship? And I agree with you, but I think the honest approach would be for democratic Socialists to

8:21start their own party. They usually be a socialist party when I was growing up in New York. They got a few votes, not very many. And I think if they were a socialist party today and they people ran on the socialist, think it's not on the Democrat day again, they would get 30% of the vote, but they would get 50% of the votes. So I think honesty requires that the Democratic Party be divided into two parties. That's not true. There are Republicans. There is no really strong wing of the Republican Party today. That's extreme right. The Republican Party is the center of the party. The Democratic Party is split between the extreme left and the moderate left and the extreme left is winning. We're talking with our author, the week Alan Dershowitz. Why I quit the Dems and so should you, Confessions, overrelect, and Republican. It seems as if over the last several election cycles, particularly presidential election cycles, Democrats have realized they have to cater in order to win a primary.

9:22They have to cater to the extreme left. But then they have the problem of the general election. We're already seen, Talleriko, for example. Suddenly he recognizes only two genders and L. Syed doesn't even know who this Hassan Piker is hardly the way that he acts. They've created this seemingly impossible position for themselves. It only seems to be getting worse, your thoughts. Well, they're totally hypocrites. They become hard left to win the primary. And then they become soft center to win the election. I think many voters will see through this. But I want people to read the book and see why I left the Democratic Party. And see if the message I sent residents with them and they want to join me. I'm not making anybody do it. I can't persuade my own wife to become Republican, my own children. So I'm certainly not going to have an easy time getting readers to do that. But I hope they will read and come to their own conclusion.

10:25Do you find yourself dismayed over the years by those that have long been, I guess, political allies of yours that are sticking with the party as it goes the direction it's going? Well, I don't mind I'm sticking with the party, but then they are totally isolating me and turning me against me. Just they think I committed treason by voting for a Republican. And that's what America is. You change your party affiliation. It's happening all over throughout our history, starting with Hamilton and Jefferson and Lincoln. Teddy Roosevelt and Bill Eberman, which parties because he couldn't get the Democratic nomination for the Senate. And he won as an independent. I hope more Democrats will do that. Final question or author of the week, Alan Dershwitz. And then any final thoughts that you might have.

11:27It's a broad question. How did this happen? And this may be an overly simplistic perspective. But in my mind, I grew up in a country where you had two political parties. Both of them was all about America first. America was the number one priority, just different versions on maybe how to best obtain that. That's great. Yeah. That seemed to be really the case any longer, particularly the Democrat party. What happened? What happened is university professors propaganda is their students. The media, CNN, CNBC, almost hard left media persuade people. And they're having a big influence. And so I think that helps explain what happened to the average voter. The average voter is too influenced by what they read in the past, press, what they read in the New York Times, what they see on CNN. And that's why you got to read my book, because I'm presenting it all to that scenario.

12:29And I think many people will identify with the alternate scenario that I present. Well, it sounds like a good final thought, but I did mention I'd give you a final thought. Anything else for listeners today? Well, go to the polls and vote against the Democrats. I think that putting the Democrats in power today will hurt the country unglomously. And I think it's crucially important that Democrats leave their party and vote Republican. And then try to influence the Republicans to move more to the center. And not only that, but his voting Republican and encouraging Democrats to do so as well. And in his final comments there is suggestion because the Democrat Party has become so radical

14:38and so anti-Semitic that he has left it as principles required him to do so. And what he's recommending is that other Democrats do the same thing. And then instead of attempting to fix the Democrat Party and get it in line with the more traditional Democrat values because he feels that is a lost cause at this point. The radicals have taken over and there's no getting it back. That Democrats should elect Republicans and then work to get Republicans to become more quote central or more moderate. Now, that's fine and good for people like him who are looking for a home that fits their traditional Democrat values. But if that plan were successful, then what of the Republicans who don't want the party to be that way? And frankly, who already, and this includes myself and I mentioned it somewhat in the

15:42opening of the conversation with him, already feel alienated from the party because it has become like Democrats were 20 years ago that the Democrat Party has become the socialist Communist Party and the Republican Party is slowly over time become the Democrat Party. And that is, you know, particularly when it comes to spending, spending just out of control. And where does someone who believes in what the Republicans used to be about and that is smaller government lower spending? Where do you go? And you know, that's, that's, it's just a really interesting evolution that's taking place because both of the two political parties keep getting drawn to the left. And if you are a leftist and extreme leftist, that is good for you. But if you are somebody that believes in liberty and, like I said, limited government, smaller government, more responsible spending, there is no party. And so then it's like, you got to start a new one of those and it's, because there really

16:45isn't a party to, that is a, a significantly relevant party to go to, dorshwitz, like, oh, here's the other party. We'll go to it. There's no other party for Republicans to go to if you believe in that traditional value. Now, someone say libertarian party, but I'm talking about a party that has significance that at some point in the scheme of things can be in power and actually implement the policies that they believe in. And that's just not a place that the libertarian party is currently at. So I just, I thought I'd note that because, well, that's fine. Good for you. And, and your recommendation for Democrats, it was essentially take over the Republican party and make the Republican party, a Democrat party well. Okay. But what about us? Someone had texted in the following. I heard the news story of the man that shot the delivery driver with a pellet rifle, pleaded guilty. What did he say? Why did he say shot her? Usually there's a confession when someone pleads guilty. Because they're not, we don't know the motive. This is, it's a great question and it is a reflection of the continuing problem with what I have determined to believe is a lack of intellectual curiosity of reporters today. It's just this default. By the way, it's not just journalists or reporters, increasingly people just don't seem

18:48to have that curiosity. Now, someone who naturally has that question does. I'm amazed at the information that gets left out of stories. And there may be instances in which the story, man, pleaded guilty. He had, he shot an Amazon driver in the head. Okay, why? What was the motive? It's such an obvious question. And I can't imagine writing a news story and not putting in that information. Now, if the information somehow is not obtainable, if it isn't available, I would put that in the story. Say, the motive is unknown. Law enforcement is not indicated in a motive. You know, that way people aren't left wondering, well, what the hell is the motive? So you're doing a story on a guy that shot an Amazon driver in the head admitted to it, but you're not saying why?

19:49He did it. And it's not an isolated story. This is increasingly is something that you find in the news. And I don't know what the answer is to it. I just don't know. I searched numerous sites, could not find the answer. I did find one article, the story, rather from KSNF, it's the NBC affiliate out of Joplin. And in their story, they said that some neighbors claimed that he had complained the shooter, had complained about Amazon drivers and or delivery drivers driving too fast down his road. And now, whether or not that was the official reason he gave, I could not find out that they aren't out there, but I searched five or six different stories I could find with the Google search. And none of them gave any references to motive.

20:51The closest that it came to was that KSNF story out of Joplin that reference the neighbors saying that he used to complain about how fast they drove up and down the road. But yeah, it's a very frustrating problem that has plagued newsrooms all across this country. And it really seems to be, well, I don't know that it is that local news has a monopoly on it. I noticed it a lot in local news because, well, I don't know why I just noticed these local news stories and I'll read it. And I'm like, well, all right. So the main part kind of got left out here. What is this component? What's going on over here? Sometimes there are two or three obvious questions that don't even get addressed. And some of it, I believe, is because I've noted this in the past. New stories are simply written off of press releases. And so a press release will get sent out with some basic information and maybe it comes

21:54from local enforcement. They're like, oh, hey, this story here, this guy, he pled guilty, just giving you an update. And they just rewrite it so it doesn't sound like a press release, but it doesn't have very significant information in it for whatever reason and whomever rewrites the press release in the form of a news story. It never crosses their mind. Hey, I wonder why it was that he did. I wonder why he said he did it. Did he not give a reason or did he give a reason? But for some reason, it's being withheld. It's kind of an important thing that our readers or viewers would like to know. And so I don't know how those, I mean, I don't know how a TV newsroom works. So in my mind, there would be someone that would say, hey, yeah, this story we're doing, is there any indication of mode? Why did he do it? Does no one think of those things? Just naturally, not even from a journalistic standpoint. It's weird because it's almost comes across as if the nonjournalist of the world have

23:00the instincts, but the people who actually have the job seem to oftentimes lack them. The person who's never gone to just, which would be the recipient of the news, the viewer, the reader, they're the ones that are like, hey, we'll wait a minute. Why isn't this in the story? I'd kind of like to know the answer to this. And that instinct, what I would assume is a required journalistic instinct is natural for nonjournalists sometimes, but then it appears to not be for people who spend God knows how much money being trained on how to actually be a journalist. I don't know, it's a weird thing. And I know that some people who are actually in journalism say, well, you don't know what you're talking about. You're not a journalist. Yeah, I know that. That's what I'm fully saying. I don't get it. I don't understand how it is that these stories oftentimes get crafted with the most significant element of the story completely absent. Not just from one news outlet, but from virtually every outlet out there. So yeah, I'm with you.

24:01That's a very good question. I want to just briefly talk about this. It's such an aggravating situation because it's once again the left creating completely unnecessary divisions and conflicts for the sake of doing so. And it's regarding this Ed Sheeran concert tour and one of his openers, Mack Lamore, who has a history of anti-semitism. He tries to couch it as just being pro-Palestinian. If you're not aware, Mack Lamore several years ago went on stage wearing what, you know, you would think of in as a traditional Hasidic Jew, I think, perhaps when you see the curls and the hat and wearing all black, it went on stage wearing that with a prosthetic huge nose, mocking the traditional look of a Jewish person, not unlike the way that the Nazis

25:05used to for propaganda purposes with the overdrawn features and characteristics. He went out on stage during a concert doing that. So he's clearly, I don't know what more he can do in order to demonstrate that this isn't about his stance of free Palestine as anything to do with good innocent people. He is very, very anti-semitic. He hates Jews, mocks Jews, attempts to use his influence and power in his wealth to turn other people against Jews. Ed Sheeran is an artist who believes that when he asks or invites his fans who like his music to pay money to come here music, he doesn't believe in a bait and switch in which well now that I have them here under the guise of just having a good time, I'm going to start espousing my political beliefs.

26:10Which incidentally is the way I view this, aside from the political part of it, it's a bait and switch. There used to be a real problem with certain industries that would say, hey, if you come pick up this free vacation to wherever and then you'd get there and once you were there, you found out you had to sit through some sort of seminar and because it was considered to be so dishonest and a bait and switch sort of situation, over time with pressure and rules and regulations and laws, more transparency was required so that you didn't get people coming for one thing and then finding out they're actually getting another. Well, with these leftists, it's even worse because they get people under the guise of just having a great time listening to music to spend lots of money, oftentimes thousands of dollars depending on the seats and then they get in there and it's a bait and switch. They're like, oh, okay, but now you have to listen to my sales pitch.

27:12You have to listen to my political pitch in order to experience the rest of the concert. So just from a consumer advocacy standpoint, I find it very off-putting and dishonest. Ed Sheeran is one who views his concerts, his concert tours a place, people of all backgrounds to come together and enjoy music and not be divisive. Artists on the left do not have either that sort of discipline or their respect for their fans. The conflict, of course, came about when Ed Sheeran decided whether it was him or the promoters or whomever that an opening act was going to be Maclamore and Maclamore who has a history of violent isemitism utilized this opportunity to start spewing, falsely accusing Jews of genocide and the standard stuff. How she net is being pro-Palestinian.

28:13And so he was uninvited from the rest of the tour. Now at the same time, you had numerous concert venues that were saying, listen, we're telling Ed Sheeran, we're not going to allow you to perform here as long as this stuff is continuing. And Ed Sheeran had put out a post explaining, listen, my concerts are just supposed to be about music, they're not supposed to be about dividing people. He noted, I have particularly a lot of young people, a lot of kids with diverse backgrounds. I'm sure, including Jewish kids. And I want them all to be able to come together regardless of background and enjoy the moment, not pit people against one another. That's my deal. I know it's a crazy thought, but to people on the left that is horrible, in fact, other artists that were set to also open for Ed Sheeran are backing out and blasting him for quote, not having a backbone as our other celebrities.

29:19Because in their minds, you have to, this is the same pressure people, again, socialist when they took over Germany. This is the exact same M.O. It's the same way in which they would turn the tide against Jewish people to the point that people that were citizens either became indifferent to afraid to speak out or actually supportive of eliminating the Jews getting rid of them is this sort of public pressure. That if you just want to stay out of it, if you simply want to give your consumers who paid to see a concert, just give them a concert, you get demonized for it. They're boycotting him now for not being anti-Semitic. This is how this is how much ground the left has made when it comes to anti-Semitism. We really thought after the liberation of the concentration camps that were set up implemented by the socialist of Germany that this sort of thing would never again happen, never again,

30:24never again. We thought we had killed it, but clearly it has come back with the vengeance and it's spreading worldwide and has a significant foothold here in the United States. The point where simply, I mean, we're not talking about Ed Sheeran and artists that's going around promoting Israel. He's not out there criticizing Hamas. He's just playing music. And because he wants that to be what his tour is about, he is being treated as if he is the one doing something wrong because this is how authoritarian's behave. They demand not only compliance, but you also must promote their cause. And as usual, the left that paints Donald Trump is a fascist, paints Donald Trump is

31:27addicted are the ones that are demanding that not only do you agree with them, but you have to outwardly do so. You cannot stay neutral. It's part of the reason they hate Sidney Swini. In a certain situation, you are either with them or you are against them and they will not let you survive. At the same time, you've got Matt McLemore was trying to really show up and make a point here, Robert Kraft, who was owner of one of the venues. He was apparently instrumental in essentially saying, well, you're not going to use my venue if this continues. And so he's getting a large part of the blame. And Matt McLemore thought, well, really show him, I'm going to donate a million dollars to the Palestinians, which of course is going to go to Hamas.

32:28It goes to the terrorism. So all of these donations that go to the innocent Palestinian people end up in the hands of terrorists and demanded or requested that Kraft match his donation, to which Kraft responded with actually, I've already donated two million dollars and I for decades have been putting in meaningful effort, including financial donations in order to help bridge divides in that region of the world. This is what I would ultimately suggest for people like Matt McLemore, who virtue signal by mocking Jews and portraying these horrific stereotypes that are of the Nazi era regarding Jews who think that they are somehow morally superior by offering a million dollar donation to the people of Gaza so that they know they're not forgotten.

33:32Why don't you go do a concert in Gaza? Why don't you just go do a free concert there? And by the way, don't change any of your performance. Don't change the way that you are clothed. If you have any sort of female backup singers, you don't lose them. You don't cut them. You have them behaving the exact same way that they always do your lyrics. You don't change anything. You don't censor anything. Go to Gaza. Perform for the Palestinian people in solidarity. If you're so intent on freeing them, have a free concert there. Go while you're there, instead of just writing a check for a million dollars and then making it someone else's problem, why don't you go over there and distribute the funds? Why don't you go over there and distribute the food or whatever it is? By the way, do you know obesity is now a problem? The people in Gaza, we were hearing what just a year ago that it was on the brink of famine.

34:34These organizations you in and otherwise that are responsible for delivering food have acknowledged that there's actually no B-city problem going on in Gaza. But people like Maclamore don't actually believe in a cause enough to do anything meaningful. They love to cut a check because that's what they do and then make it someone else's problem but use it in order to demonstrate their moral superiority over other people. When it really comes down to it and this is the damage that the left does in this world, what has always been great about a concert, if you've ever been to one, is that you can look at a sea of people, thousands and thousands of people, of all different backgrounds, all different colors, all different religions, all different sexual orientations and every single one of them will be singing and unison together.

35:39That in reality, it very often times is one of the lone places you can have that many people together from such diverse backgrounds, all feeling nothing but joy. And because of the anti-Semitism of the left, look what it's turned into. We destroyed that. Take in a moment of harmony and unity of people of all backgrounds and pitted them against one another. Now you have people that are boycotting the edge shearing and prior to Maclamore being dropped, there were people that were wanting their ticket dollars back because of what Maclamore said. Congratulations, you people on the left. This is what you do. You claim you want peace, you claim you want harmony, you claim you want people all coming together. That's the whole point of the symbolism of a rainbow flag, all different colors, all different backgrounds coming together in harmony, making a beautiful rainbow. They don't want that.

36:39They loathe that. They seek to destroy that. And every time any of these left wing artists take what is otherwise a venue of people harmoniously enjoying, you know, an event together of all backgrounds, they decide they're going to throw a bomb in the middle of it by injecting divisive politics. They don't want unity to do everything they can actively to destroy it. And this is another example. Springfields talk 101, I'm Nick Reed. We have bought that $9 latte and all of us at some point or another just turned around and had to go home. New Yorkers said more places to go on the go were desperately needed. And so apparently the answer to this and so much of socialism is symbolism. That there's 1,100 public restrooms. We're told this is woefully an adequate and so the answer is to add 17 to that. At $235,000 a pop. The bathrooms are very nice. They're climate controlled. They aren't a restroom like you might think. In some sort of actual infrastructure, they look like just a big metal box.

39:46A storage unit that just sort of apparently are going to just be plopped down in places. And they are ADA accessible of course. They come with running water, climate control and baby changing stations. They will be open from 7am to 10pm daily and are open via text message. You are code the thrown bathroom network app or a tap card. The thrown bathroom app will give New Yorkers real-time cleanliness ratings, find restrooms and unlock doors. Those without a smartphone can get a tap card from local community partners that are yet to be identified. Now this here, this concern nails at 22 year old residents saying I understand the idea of doing it, but I don't think it's a good idea for safety or sanitary noting that she worries that the toilets are going to only be used by people that are homeless and drug users and people wanting to have sex in them. And of course they will because they're free.

40:50That's how these are going to be utilized. And the joke of saying, well, we're going to have real-time your ability to rate how clean they are. So what? There's no competition for these. We can have a one out of five star rating. And so what? The homes, the apartments that have the worst ratings in the city are the ones in which the city takes responsibility over. The ones that aren't fully privately run because where else are you going to go? What are you going to do? Complain to the authorities. We are the authorities.
