According to nativewomenswilderness.org only 116 of those cases are reported in the U.S. department of justice’s database. Alaska, the last frontier holds 229, a quarter, of those cases according to dataforindigenousjustice.com. 19 year old Alaska Native, Sonya Ivanoff, is one those MMIWs from Alaska. This story is hers.
