A Moss Point man was convicted by a federal jury on Wednesday for his role in a methamphetamine pill distribution conspiracy. According to United States Attorney Scott Leary, 49-year-old Varick Davis, along with other co-conspirators, distributed meth pills that were being manufactured in Lowns County. According to court records, a pill press would manufacture thousands of pills a week to distribute across Mississippi and three other states. Agents eventually were able to shut down the organization and the pill press while seizing roughly 10,000 pills in the process. Davis will be sentenced on a future date. One man was left dead in a league county shooting early Wednesday afternoon.

1:03According to officials, an unidentified man was fatally shot in Verona. After the incident, the victim was taken to a hospital in Tupelo where he passed away. An autopsy has been ordered by the league county court. The investigation is ongoing. A super talk Mississippi media production.
