About this episode
Today, the average Christian gives only about 3 percent of his income to the Lord’s work far less than the biblical tithe yet feels no guilt. Meanwhile, federal, state, and local governments take several tithes from us each year, and the IRS shows no mercy to those who withhold. Do we imagine God is more indulgent? Scripture warns otherwise: “Will a man rob God? … Ye are cursed with a curse” (Mal. 3:8–9). Haggai describes the consequences: “Ye have sown much, and bring in little… he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes” (Hag. 1:6). In these troubled economic times, many suffer, some with grace, others in blindness yet complain that God neglects them while they have long neglected Him, offering only scraps of time and money. Our Lord commands, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” (Matt. 22:37). True love for God means giving Him our best, not our leftovers, with our time, our money, and our whole selves. Do you? #LovingGod #Tithe #GiveHimYourBest
