18:56win that tournament now they're probably not gonna get in to the NCAA tournament they went 17 and one in the regular season in the Patriot League 17 and one the best team by far in that conference and they're not going to the NCAA tournament because they lost on a buzzer beater in the semi finals of their conference tournament now some people think that this system is wrong i'm i'm indifferent because i do think that the regular season needs to be rewarded but oftentimes in these conference tournaments the regular season is rewarded like look at the West Coast Conference tournament bracket the number one and number two seeds in the conference are automatically in the semi finals most of these small conference tournaments these one

19:58bid bid leagues have that where you're automatically advancing i know the major conference tournaments like you're automatically advancing to like the the quarter finals here but in some of these you know lower conference tournaments you're you're in the semi finals already now navy got the buy right away into the quarter finals in the Patriot League they won their quarter final game against Bucknell and then they lose on a buzzer beater here in the semi final and now they are not going to the NCAA tournament so how do you fix this i i'm not you can't give out two bids you can't because some of these leagues do not deserve two bids so you can't just say hey this team wins the regular season title congratulations they're in the NCAA tournament and the tournament winner goes on to win now you can eliminate the tournaments entirely and just say the winner of the regular season is the team you know like the Ivy League does like that's the team that goes

21:01to the NCAA tournament just eliminate the conference tournaments i love the conference tournaments i don't want to get rid of the conference tournaments my solution would be kind of like a two a two part thing i think the regular season champ needs to be rewarded more meaning you want to put them instead of the instead of the the automatic buy into the quarter finals just put them into the semi finals i'm okay with that or you want to just put them into the championship game that's great although they're gonna like have like a week off of basketball i don't know if you want that but okay you want to put them automatically in the championship game i'm all for it how about this for a radical idea though like now we're getting crazy okay what if by virtue of winning your regular season conference championship your reward is you have to lose twice in the conference tournament so think about this scenario you win your conference regular season

22:06your reward is you're the number one seed in the conference tournament great but if you lose whether it's in the quarter finals the semi finals or the championship game anytime you lose you will then get to play again against the winner of the championship game you have to lose twice in order to be eliminated from the conference tournament now i think we that solve was kind of the issue of a one bid league right where and then we talked about all the time like the bid stealers wouldn't that kind of eliminate the bid stealing even though bid stealing is kind of like the most fun part about cut the college basketball right like listen i don't want to change anything right now but it's a lot of fun when we have a one bid league that has an upset in the conference tournament and then all of a sudden two teams get in like that's fun and then one of these bubble teams gets left out all right you're out i'm

23:10sorry but maybe to eliminate the bid stealing like instead of expanding the NCAA tournament which they're talking about doing like from 68 they want to go 72 instead of expanding the tournament let's just get rid of bid stealing and say the conference regular season winner has to lose twice in their conference tournament giving them a better chance to win that conference tournament if they just win it anyway they just win the conference tournament anyway congratulations they're in but like imagine if they lose the championship game and then it's like hey they get to play again tomorrow let's run it back or if they lose in the quarter final and now they have to wait and see who they're going to play in like the championship let i play i play competitive adult softball right and in the way that our tournaments bracket work right it's double elimination there's an if game where whoever's in the king seat right like if you you win the winners bracket you go to the championship game that the first game is the championship game if you win you're the

27:22in that roster and in that organization uh... but yeah i think at this point honestly i trust them more than than the pistons i you know the pistons at forty five and seventeen at the top of the conference i i don't think it's a hot take to say like i don't like the roster to get to the mba finals um i just trust Boston a lot more from not only a talent standpoint but like a game plan standpoint the the offensive consistency i think is better and they're also a great defensive team uh... like Boston but yeah Tatum you know take us out shake the rust off um he does look a little slow at times hasn't you know shot particularly well but i in general the fact that he's out there playing twenty seven minutes at the air like twenty seven minutes and this game against the calves i mean it's just a huge positive and and they can give them up to thirty five minutes hugging into the postseason like why not why not make the finals yeah absolutely uh joe musula has been so impressive as a coach i mean it is now it is a system it's not a player it is a system because they've proven it without Jason Tatum all season long they've still put up the numbers that they put up last season so it's been absolutely incredible to watch uh... also earlier

29:29number of teams in the league where you know you they have like so much offense that you take one of those offensive players off the court and it's probably not as big of a disadvantage as you would think because what they really need is defense so yeah i mean i it's hard for me to say like i i don't think lebron james is generally a positive player at this point i mean what he's doing at age 41 is incredible but uh certainly i think you know it what they need is defense and he's he is not providing it at this point lakers are now nine and two this year when luca and austin rives play and lebron james doesn't so something to keep an eye on uh when we get those injury reports with the lakers moving forward let's talk about a couple of games uh that are in progress right now as well as the games that are coming up here later on tonight one game in progress right now first quarter action about three minutes left from the first quarter of the spurs a 26 23 lead over the rocket san antonio was a five and a half point favorite coming into this game how i mean what's your thoughts here on san antonio because no one's been better over the last

30:32month or so than the spurs throughout the forty six and seventeen on the season i mean this team is a legit threat in my opinion and they are in everybody's opinions in the western conference and you know coming into this game it was spurs or pass for me here against the houston rockets yeah and i think i mean in particular this game you know the rocket there there's such an interior basketball team but then you go up against victor rumbanyama who's up essentially the best player in the paint in the mba i'm both under the cord and it's like well it's gonna be tough to deal with that uh but yeah this first i mean look uh victor rumbanyama is that good sometimes he watch him and it feels like he should be more dominant i guess attacking the rim offensively but i think he is that he should be the defensive player of the year he is just altering the basketball court thing away on defense that we've just never seen before and i think it's kind of getting underrated somehow despite his team being forty six and seventeen and you know i i i think they are also kind of being underrated because deer and fox isn't having the greatest season right his numbers are pretty much down across the board siphon castle i i didn't expect siphon

31:35castle to handle this much offensive workload you know sort of at the expense of deer and fox but you know deer and fox basically last season and and i've more like two seasons ago on the beam team with with sack or meadow you think about that team was a pretty good team with him as the clear number one option maybe you want to say sivonis where i would say fox and then sivonis and now you have him as the number two option right i think he's more in a in the right packing order um on on the san franconeo team and yeah i they have a they have enough talent on both ends of the court another team that's extremely well-coached where they feel i had a schedule but this happens sometimes especially with a great player it's been tremendous to watch uh for this team now if we look at um let's see um tonight we have the charlotte hornets laying four and a half at the phoenix sons charlotte's been another team that has a lot of fun to watch i mean i have a bet on them to make the playoff so i'm hoping that they can you know maybe get themselves into the

32:35the the the the the higher part of that playing round like if they can get the the eight seed in this way you know if they lose that first playing game they get a second playing game we'll see what happens there uh but right now i i think that the hornets are a team that i want to be betting on and certainly not betting against but what do you think about them in this game coming up here against the suns tonight i i have a little surprise they are four and a half point favorites on the road going into phoenix but i know you got phoenixes banged up right they they lost mark Williams for a few weeks so they're starting to get the oro uh Dylan Brooks is still out for them and i i i think it's nice that they have devin booker back obviously and jaylen green's been able to stay healthy but they've sort of lost their identity along the way like early in the season this team is grinding out wins defensively one of the best defenses of the mba and booker was sort of carrying them offensively now they're defensive against set because Dylan Brooks something is the fantastic defender especially on the wing which is so important and you know mark Williams was playing like twenty twenty two minutes of game as they sort of managed his workload

33:37but still a really impact player when your backup options are osuated oro and like common mull watch um but yeah i mean again this this orange team has been so impressive so i'm i'm not i mean you can't be that surprised other favorites um in this situation because they're one of the best rebounding teams the mba they get up a ton of three-pointers frame and billar i think it's having a really underrated season there's like you know lamentable for the longest time is this guy's losing player doesn't take basketball seriously maybe those first those are valid but now i mean he's certainly uh continuing to win basketball team so i think i think i think they can even make noise uh to some extent in the eastern conference last 15 games in the mba the spurs with the best net rating in the mba at thirteen point four the charlatte hornets the second best net rating at ten point four again charlatte is uh a four and a half point road favorite here tonight in phoenix uh we got about a minute left alex uh a couple of more games tonight any thoughts on pastures blazers or bulls kings i know bulls kings is an ugly game but hey

So and net rating is basically your offensive efficiency, your offensive rating, your defensive rating, how many points you score, how many points you allow per 100 possessions. And that's how you get your net rating here in the NBA and as a great measure of how good a team is and how good a team is going to continue to perform. 39:51All right, let's keep an eye on what's going on here as we have some college basketball conference tournament action. And these are in the smaller conference tournaments. We do have a bid that is on the line here tonight, a bid to the big dance that is going to be crowned in the summit league championship. But the so con semi final is coming down to the wire here. There's 12 seconds remaining and we have an upset brewing as Furman has a 77 75 lead over UNC Greensboro and Furman closed, I believe they were a five and a half point dog. Yep, no Furman was a five and a half point favorite, excuse me, six and a half here at Cerca actually. So little different here in the in the markets, but so Furman actually some no potentially upset if we can get if UNC Greensboro pulls something off here, but Furman now making a free throw up 78 to 75 and that is the semi final here of the so con tournament.

40:53There is a second round action of the big sky Idaho state and Portland state, Portland state with a 46 40 lead with 15 minutes to go in that game and they are underway here in Vegas. San Francisco in early 13 five lead over Oregon State West Coast Conference quarter finals also underway in the CAA championship quarter finals, Hofstra 13, nine early lead over William and Mary, five minutes into the Southland first ground game between Nichols and Northwestern state. They're tied at five, Sienna a 16 13 lead over Fairfield early on in the Mac semi final and then I mentioned that bid that is on the line tonight coming up at the top of the hour summit league championship game North Dakota, North Dakota state, North Dakota state and 11 and a half point favorite, let's see if that line has moved here is we're a moment away from tip off 11 here at Circa 11 and a half at some online books, I actually see a 10 and a half on the board, which is interesting, but it looks like 11 point favorites

41:56for North Dakota state here at Circa. The total has been interesting because I wanted to bet the under, well, I missed the boat here because this opened at 149. It then immediately goes down to 147, 147 and a half. Earlier this morning, I guess, you know, respected groups respected better is getting on these things. It goes from 147 and a half down to 145 and at that point, I'm thinking, well, obviously I missed the boat here. I don't want to be on this as it's down to 145, but then over the last couple of hours we've seen it tick back up from 145 back to 147 and a half. So think about this. Circa owns, I'm going to give you the timeline here, Circa opened at 149 and literally minutes after the open, it got hit to a point where they adjusted immediately.

42:57They immediately adjusted to 147. They then got hit to the point where it goes down to 145. It stays at 145 all day until this afternoon, it goes down to 143 and a half. So think about the under money that they took here at Circa for this line to go down to 143 and a half. And now think about what has happened since that line got down to 143 and a half at about 2, 230 Pacific time here this afternoon to then get bet back up to 147 and a half. Honestly, to me, there's just too many conflicting signals for this game. I just, I'm staying away. Like I said, I was initially on the under to see the market move in my favor or not in my, I mean, like in my favor, meaning on my side, I just missed the boat and lost the

43:57number. Like I had the right read on this game, but then I saw it get bet back up and now I'm like, I don't know what to think. So to me, the best course of action here is to just say thanks, but no thanks. Maybe there's a live betting opportunity to get in on this game again, that is a championship game in the summit league between North Dakota and North Dakota state. Here's what's on the line coming up on Monday. In championship games will have the championship of the sun belt, the championship of the so con. We will also have let's see the that's it. Those are the only two championship games that we should have here on Monday as more tickets to the big dance have been punched earlier today. We had a big stolen in the Patriot league where Navy who went 17 and one in the conference this year loses on a buzzer beater to Boston University in the semifinal of the Patriot

A big stolen would be like, if Navy was going to get into the NCAA tournament. And then another team winds up getting in. Like a big stolen would be like if a team not named Gonzaga or St. Mary's or whatever wins the West Coast conference. If Pacific or someone goes on to win that had no chance to get into the NCAA tournament and they wind up winning the West Coast conference, that is a big stolen because that's now an extra team that has to get into the NCAA tournament out of a conference that was maybe only going to get two teams, maybe three teams like Santa Clara could get in as a third

46:00team. But like, let's say, as I mentioned, let's say a team like Pacific won that conference. Well, that's a big stolen. This was just a big stolen from one team to the other team. Like the Patriot league is a one big league. But now the winner of the Patriot league is not going to be Navy who dominated the Patriot league regular season going 17 and one. I offered the solution up on Twitter and naturally everyone's against it. But that's okay. I'm trying to think outside the box here. I'm trying to be radical. And I thought, hey, why don't we just add an if game? How fun is that? How fun is that? We add an if game. Meaning, if you win your regular season, you win the regular season in your conference. You have to lose twice in your conference tournament. That is your reward for winning the regular season. We add an if game to the conference tournament. Now if you go on and win the conference tournament, then we don't even need to play the if game.

47:02That's why it's called an if game because it's if necessary. Now let's say you lose in the quarter finals or semi finals or you lose in the championship game because you won the regular season title, you get to play again. It's essentially the same thing as me saying, I'm going to pain the regular season champion against the conference champion for the right against the tournament champion, excuse me, for the right to get that bid. So if the same team wins them both, it's irrelevant to moot point. Congratulations, you're representing the conference in the NCAA tournament. But if you have a different team, you get to play again to the side. I think it's a win win for everybody.
