This is live bet Sunday on Vsand, the sports betting network. I have, I'm speechless. I have no idea what just happened. Okay, I have to try and explain this for those who aren't watching and for those who can maybe try and explain it to me. By the way, I'm Scott Saddenberg. This is live bet Sunday here on Vsand, the sports betting network. Michigan's playing Michigan State, final game of the Big Ten regular season, and Michigan goes off as a 10 to 10 and a half point favorite. Depending on your book, lines changed. I got the bad end of it. I had Michigan State plus nine and a half

earlier in the day. They close here at circa as a 10 point dog. Michigan is up by eight, with like over a minute remaining. And Michigan State keeps fouling. And Michigan goes to the free throw line. They make two shots. Michigan State then goes makes a layup, brings it back to an eight point game, fouls again. Michigan makes two shots to make it a 10 point game. Michigan State makes another layup, makes it to an eight point game, and back and forth they go for literally the entire final minute. With 25 seconds left to go in the game, Michigan State is down by eight again after they got actually got fouled on a three point attempt. The kid missed the first free throw makes the next two free throws, right? So Michigan State's down eight. They foul on the inbound again with 22 seconds left. So Tom is refusing to acknowledge defeat. Michigan makes two free throws to make it a 10 point lead.

And then Michigan State dribbles out the clock and doesn't try and score again. I've never seen that. I've seen offenses dribble it out for sure. I've even seen the losing team dribble it out and and concede the defeat. But why did you foul the inbound before? Why do you keep fouling if you're just going to concede the defeat? Did they want it to be a 10 point line? What exactly just happened in Ann Arbor? That was the fissiest ending I have ever seen. I would love to just get in that post game press conference and ask him, hey Tom, did you know the spread? What were you doing there at the end? Why did you have your team foul with 22 seconds left after you were fouling every possession in the final minute only to then call off the dogs and say don't try and score with 22 seconds left. What was that? Now this make, listen, if they would

have just dribbled it out with, you know, the possession before when they were down by 10 with less than the shot clock remaining 30 seconds left or so. Okay, but you didn't. You tried a quick three. You got to the free throw line. You made two free throws. You then fouled again to then give Michigan two more free throws and then you decide, yeah, now we're going to call it off. That is one of the strangest endings I have ever seen to a college basketball game. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. And again, I'm bitter about the loss, but hey, if you had the 10, you got the push. If you got the 10 and a half congratulations, you got the win. And maybe that's all is always worried about was covering the 10 and a half. I'm sure the boosters are happy that they covered the 10 and a half there. But what a ridiculous finish there for sporty and for Michigan, who congratulations finishes the regular season now with they already won everything

there is to win in the big 10. So it didn't matter. This game actually meant nothing for them. But for Michigan state, they finished 15 and five now in the big 10 standings. They still have the buy the double buy now. And they are going to be playing for a two seed. If they would have won this game, I would have put them on the two line regardless of what happens in the big 10 conference tournament. But now I think they need to I think they need to win two games. I think they need to win the quarter final game and they need to win the semi final game and get to the big 10 championship. And that if they lose the big 10 championship game, that's fine. If they once they're in the big 10 championship game, it doesn't matter. They are in number two seed. But if you think about the teams that they are in the mix with right now to be a two seed, Yukon's going to go to the biggest championship game against St. John's. Yukon's going to be a two seed, right? Yukon was in the mix for a one seed. They're not going to get a one seed anymore. They're going to be a two seed. Houston.

Houston's going to be a two seed. Houston could actually win the big 10 big 12 conference tournament. But like they're going to be a two seed, right? Arizona will be a one. Houston will be a two. I think that Iowa state is in the mix. If they make a good run here in the big 12 conference tournament that they can become a two seed, I think that, you know, even other big 10 teams, I think Illinois. Illinois could be a two seed. I think Purdue could still be a two seed. Nebraska could still be a two seed. It's all going to come down to who advances to the big. This is what I'm going to say. I'm going to say that I'm going to put Yukon and Houston as two number two seeds. And then the other number two seeds are going to be between if there is a big time performance by one of these one of these teams outside the big 10. So I'm talking about like the Alabama's of the world or, you know, Texas Tech or Kansas, like has a big run in the big 12 conference

tournament. I can see like one of those teams getting elevated to the two line, you know, like let's say what if there's an upset in the big 12 conference tournament? What if it winds up being Alabama that wins the SEC over Florida, right? Like there's so many things could happen. I would leave one of those spots up and then I would say the big 10 team that goes to the championship game against Michigan is guaranteed that two seed. So whether it's Illinois, Nebraska, Michigan state, Purdue, whichever big 10 team goes to the championship game against Michigan will be a two seed. So that's what's on the line here for sporty. That is what's on the line here for them to try and get themselves onto the two line come NCAA tournament time. Once again, I'm Scott Saddenberg always on Twitter at Scott's on air. SCOTTS ON AI are just bizarre here. The way that they, you know, played it out. I know Jason just tweets at me. They did actually take a shot. Yes,

I know they didn't dribble out the final 22, 25 seconds. They dribbled it all the way to the end and didn't try to shoot like a buzzer beater. Like that to me was like that's even worse honestly. That tries to tell that tells me now I'm not accusing anybody of anything. But like, doesn't that scream of a team trying to cover the spread? Like let's think about this. You're you're trying to cover a 10 point spread. You're fouling every time you're down eight in the final minute when you could just acknowledge you're not winning that game. You're down eight with 40 seconds left. You're just not winning the game unless like they miss up. They miss two free throws and then you hit a three or they miss one free throw and then you hit a three like you need to just there's not enough possessions to go back and forth, especially with a good free throw shooting team like Michigan. But you keep fouling and then you keep scoring to make it an eight point

game. And then you hold for the final shot with 25 seconds left. Doesn't it scream doesn't kind of feel like hey, they were trying to make a buzzer beater to cover a 10 point spread. I don't know. Again, not accusing anybody of anything, but just a very suspicious ending there in an order between Michigan and Michigan state. Still in progress. Nebraska. This is coming down to this is going to be a close one here as Iowa has pulled to within four now 68 64 number nine. Nebraska leads Iowa and spread drama here in this one as well as Nebraska closed as a four and a half to five point favorite here at circa Nebraska closed as a five point favorite and it was four and a half at some online books and some other books as well. So right now some spread drama in Nebraska with less than a minute to go. They have a 68 64 lead. So a four point lead here with the spread coming into question here in the closing seconds. We'll see how Iowa handles this with

the fouls and if Nebraska can make their free throws and who winds up on the cover side of this one. We're also monitoring all the nine top 25 games in college basketball conference tournaments underway quarter final action of the CAA thousand with the 4732 lead over Charleston as they just begin the second half there. They are at the half in the semi final of the Sun Belt with Troy having a 41 28 lead over Southern Miss first round action of the Southland tournament New Orleans with a 41 35 lead over Houston Christian semi final action of the Mac. I always like saying that you know it's the mid-Atlantic is the MAAC not the mid-American not the MAC the Mac Metro Atlantic whatever. Marist and Merrimack Merrimack has a 30 to 28 lead over Marist at the half there and semi finals of the Socon. It is UNC Greensboro with a 2722 lead over Firmin with about six minutes

to go in the first half there still to come at the bottom of the hour Idaho State against Portland State in the second round of the big sky championship Portland State of five and a half point favorite. William and Mary takes on Hofstra quarter finals of the CAA Hofstra a three and a half point favorite. Here in Vegas it is the quarter finals of the West Coast Conference with San Francisco and Oregon State San Francisco a three and a half point favorite the later game in that tournament is Pacific in Santa Clara where Santa Clara is a nine and a half point favorite there. Championship game of the Summit League is coming up at nine o'clock Eastern time North Dakota and North Dakota State with North Dakota State and 11 and a half point favorite total in that one 147 and a half might have a play on that total we're going to have to decide as we get closer and closer to tip off there. World Baseball Classic continuing we're going to be talking a little bit of baseball coming up in a few minutes we're going to be joined by Derek Cardi MLB betting analyst for EV analytics at Roto Grinders and fan graphs we'll talk about the World Baseball Classic

back your own live that sunday scott's out on board with you on vcne the sports betting network as the world baseball classic continues as we work our way through pool play and get towards the elimination rounds we actually have some games in progress right now they are in a rain delay panema and canada so nothing going on there no score in the bottom of the first inning nicaragua and israel coming up at the top of the hour there's brazil against mexico and some finals from earlier japan a four three come from behind win against australia japan improves the three and oh but i got to be honest they do not look as dominant as the japanese teams in the past half like they have struggled in some of these games like yes that they had to come from behind here against australia yes they had to blow out win uh what was it uh earlier like the first game of the tournament where they had the uh where otani hit the uh the grand slam and then everybody was all excited and otani shot up the odds to be the MVP they won 13 nothing against chinese type a

but then an eight six win over korea that was you know kind of a struggle and then the four three come from behind win against australia today they just have not looked dominant uh this japanese team and you wonder what that is is is it because you know some of the players uh i don't know i don't know what the reason is um maybe they just don't have the same dominant pitching that they used to uh we know that otani is not pitching in this tournament but definitely uh definitely interesting to see japan struggle even though they are three and oh cuba improves to two and oh with the seven four win over columbia the Dominican Republic blows out the netherlands 12 to one as they improve to uh two and oh and team italy two and oh with the seven four win over great britain that's one that i wanted to bet um i didn't get it in in time uh but i do this this Italian team they're fun to watch not just because of you know the the the the the hand signals after the home run not because of the home run celebrations taking shots of espresso in the dugout they got a majorly player at

every position and they got some talented arms in their rotations and talented arms in the bullpen they are a team that not enough people are talking about in this tournament that's going to be fun i'm telling you right now on tuesday when team italy takes on the united states the united states is going to be heavily favored whatever that run line is i i'm going to take the runs with team italy because i think that they can keep it close here against the united states so that's going to be a fun one to watch but that comes up here on tuesday uh coming up here on monday the united states is backing action against mexico uh haven't seen a line yet on that game but you would imagine the united states like they have been in every single game here in this tournament a heavy heavy favorite mexico taking on brazil here and they are a seven and a half favorite on the run line against brazil tywan walker actually getting the start here for team mexico against brazil brazil really hasn't shown the ability to compete they got blown out by uh the united states that was

15 to five and yes you know the the was it i think it was um many ramirez's son hit that home run the lead off home run but other than that like i mean the 17 year old kid pitching you know uh play pitch is hard at but it was no competition there and then they lose eight nothing to team italy they only have four hits in that game i don't mexico hasn't done much here in this tournament that makes me want to like you know run to bet them at minus seven and a half runs they beat great bring eight to two in their uh in their only game here in this tournament so again not much to take away from that performance here they should beat brazil the question is to they cover seven and a half runs on the run line there and then panama will take on canada once this rain delay uh gets concluded james and tion gets the start for team canada and hyme barria gets to start for panama on the mound that team canada a four and a half favorite on the run line there

in canada's uh most recent performances let's see i believe they only played one game as well and that was was that Thursday or did they not play yet let's see canada yeah maybe this is this the first game for team canada no they beat columbia eight to two yesterday that's right that was their first game so this is game number two here for team canada in that first game against columbia they were led by let's see uh let's see josh nailer had two hits in that game uh tyler o'neill had a hit uh abraham torro had two hits in that game and on the mound soroka went three innings allowed just one hit uh so let's see what james and tion can do here in this game coming up once the rain delay decides against team panama futures market hasn't changed much the united states still the overwhelming favorite to win the world baseball classic they were minus one ten when the tournament began they moved to minus one fifteen the biggest movement has been though in the second place or the second favorite i should say because japan

was the second favorite prior to the tournament beginning and then the Dominican Republic has overtaken japan so even though japan continues to win and as i mentioned they are now three and oh it is the Dominican Republic who is the second favorite and it's actually a pretty marginal gap here Dominican Republic plus three forty and japan plus four ten so the Dominican Republic is the second favorite and that's why like i i talked about it before the tournament began in terms of the MVP market i didn't think that there was value on anybody in the top like you know whether it was show hay otani who's the favorite right now plus five fifty or aron judge who's plus eight hundred i wanted to look further down the odds boards and i wanted to look at the Dominican Republic because i felt the Dominican was absolutely live to win this tournament they still are and i think looking at their players you had value here in the MVP market i looked at you know black Guerrero and Juan Soto that were both twenty five to one well right now junior

Caminero is the leading MVP candidate here for the Dominican Republic at sixteen to one Vladie is at twenty five to one and let's say i don't even know where let's see has Soto even did he drop off oh he's Soto is actually eighteen to one excuse me so you got junior Caminero at sixteen to one Soto at eighteen to one and then Vladie at twenty five to one i think the Dominican Republic is absolutely live to win this tournament um and it could be a fun bet to bet on them in in i don't know if i would take the shot at the plus three forty right now i think i'd rather just take them on the game to game basis there in the quarter final and in the semi final and then maybe in the final and then especially if they are a dog like against the united states they will be a dog everyone's going to be a dog against the United States but possibly taking the run lines on some of these teams um because i think the United States against the Dominican that is going to be a tough game for the us to navigate that lineup it's a fun tournament

is it the Olympics no is it the best on best no because there's several players as much as like this and probably this is probably the best us roster that we've put together since this world baseball classic began but you still have several players that are in L as well to play for some of their countries because of you know insurance waivers you know hozal tovay and a couple other players and also there's just no good time to have this event there isn't there's no good time to have this event now if you want to do something like the NHL did last year where instead of the all-star game and you know they held the the four nations face off you want to do the world baseball classic in the middle of the season or you know instead of uh instead of the all-star game you want to have the world baseball classic then do you get better performances probably but who wants to do that the major league baseball season is such a grind 162 games six months like

it's such a grind the players love the break in in the in the summer to get the all-star break so let's just say that like they love getting the time off but also you don't want any players getting hurt in this thing and obviously now you don't want players getting hurt because it's preseason like it's spring training still but at least like you still have the entire season ahead of you before you know for for for you to overcome a player that might have to miss the first month of the season or so because of arm fatigue or whatnot plus there's restrictions in place now with pictures where you can only go 65 pitches in the first round and then it increases to you know the 80 pitches the 90 pitches all that stuff but it's it's just a fine balancing act because as much as players enjoy the tournament certainly I mean the Latin American crowds are are eating this up like they love it and the atmosphere is are incredible and I can't wait to see once we get to the elimination round what it's like they're in Miami for the you know the the quarter finals semi finals finals and what not um but the truth is we're not getting our best pitchers the pitchers are not pitching like

it's a playoff game there's limitations on them I mean school bull goes out there throws his 40 somewhat pitches and says I'm done and now all of a sudden he's got a change of heart and he's like yeah I might want to pitch again I mean to the Tigers one of the pitch again probably not so it really is a fine balancing act and listen as baseball fans and the sports better is all we can do is just watch what we're given and enjoy it and try and take advantage of it in the market wherever we can if you're betting the major league baseball make sure you don't step up to the play unprepared because the Veson NLB betting guide is your playbook for the entire season you get in-depth previews for all 30 teams a deep dive into whether money really buys championships MVP and psi young awards analysis a complete stats glossary and key terms to know expert betting insight from the Veson protein plus player perspective from former Emily pitcher and Veson host Jensen Lewis download the guide now for just 1999 or become a Veson pro subscriber get the guide included along with daily best bets real-time betting splits AI power prop tools and 24-7 video

on the Veson watch out go to vsign.com slash guide this is live that Sunday on vsign the sports betting network back you're on live that Sunday Scott Saddenberg with you on vsign the sports betting network you guys can always follow along and contribute to the program hit me up on twitter at Scott's on air hit us all on the network at vsign live still monitoring all the action in progress college basketball the NBA how about that Nebraska game against Iowa goes to overtime where number nine Nebraska gets the win end cover in overtime 84 75 and you know what they say overtime is where underdogs go to die so if you had the plus five there on Iowa well overtime was not your friend let's turn our attention though to major league baseball the world baseball classics still going on

in the early pool play stages and spring training is hot and heavy joining us right now on the progressive guest line Derek Cardi who's an image league baseball betting analyst for several outlets ev analytics roto grinders fan graphs as well Derek thanks so much for giving us a couple minutes here love what you do with the projections every single year with the bat X and whether it's a batting stuff pitching stuff but this year in particular Derek I know you're working on some pitch stuff analytics tell us what you got going on this year yes so I've upgraded my projection system to include pitcher quote unquote stuff which basically comprises all the physical attributes of a pitch the velocity the movement the spin rate how it interacts with other pitches in the pitchers repertoire tunneling bridge pitches all kinds of fun stuff like that which I think we'll give us a pretty big edge when it comes to betting because when a pitcher adds a new pitch or improves a pitch we'll be able to pick up on his changes in talent level so much quicker by diving this granularity into the data will it also help identify when a pitcher is getting let's

say stronger or fatiguing at points during the season because I know oftentimes like I like to do this you know when I'm betting baseball is and I look at all the analytics sites of course yours your stuff included and I always like to see well there's been a velocity drop from a pitcher right that's usually the time where I want to be fading them I want to either a better get bet on their hits against to go over or their earn runs to go over our strikeouts to go under and conversely maybe it's the opposite we see a pitcher that's starting to get stronger as the season progresses will you be able to analyze that with all your new stuff metrics and and is that how you would take advantage of it absolutely that's going to be one of the primary ways to take advantage of it the system is going to see what the guys last couple starts have been and what his stuff has looked like over those starts and if his stuff has declined whether because of velocity or something else it's going to recognize that and it's going to treat him as a worse pitcher because of it which is then going to lead to potentially more edges on his overruns his overhits that kind of thing so uh so yeah definitely going to be able to use it that way which I am very excited about

how would you look at the batters versus the pitcher's stuff like do you look at how certain batters perform against certain pitches and then maybe if you see there's you know x amount of players in a lineup that don't do well against a certain you know slider or a cutter or whatever it is and then would you take a look like how would you hand the how would you bet that then would it be a strikeout prop would it be other things how do you look at the batter verse pitch stuff and utilize these new metrics to your advantage I don't look at a ton of batter verse pitch stuff a lot of it because there's a lot of noise in that data there's a lot of context that gets missed did they just face guys that had bad sliders or are they actually really good at hitting sliders and then if they're really good at hitting sliders the advanced scouting on the team side is going to pick up on that and so if okay this batter is really good at hitting sliders well maybe don't throw your slider to him today you know like that kind of thing is going to happen there's a lot of game theory aspects of it that that you have to take into consideration so uh so for me I haven't had a whole lot of time to dig into that level of it yet I wonder how much value there is but uh

it's definitely something to consider I think have you taken a look at the awards market yet specifically the side young market and tried to identify any value based off of maybe some pictures that you've analyzed and you said hey there's stuff is a lot better than what the market is giving them credit for and they could be in store for a big season yeah one guy that really stuck out to me was chase burns of the Cincinnati Reds he was priced at 60 to one a couple weeks ago when I was looking and he projects to have top 10 stuff in all of baseball he's not a household name yet because he was a rookie last year only made a handful of starts got hurt wound up pitching out of the bullpen when he got back um but he has the best slider in baseball he throws hard he's working on a third pitch this uh this spring they're saying so um I'm really uh really bullish on him this year if he can stay healthy which I don't think is a given but if he can stay healthy I think the stuff nominal and I think 60 to one for him is crazy good odds especially when you compare him to other like young rookie type guys like Jacob Mizorowski and Nolan McLean and these other guys

that are like 20 to one or 30 to one and then you look at Burns and he's 60 to one and it doesn't make sense why so low not a great point there talking to Derek Hardy who's uh M.O.B. betting analyst several outlets including fan graph throttle grinders EV analytics as well uh in looking at your projections have you um settled and again not not necessarily the futures market but maybe in the win totals like is there a team that you're really bullish on this season based off of some of the projections that you've done and is there one team that you are absolutely fading at all costs this season well there's one team that I am definitely not fading and it's the Colorado Rockies uh it's so gross and nobody wants to hear it but betting the Colorado Rockies over win total I think is the single best bet you can make this off season they're just priced so low depending on what book you're going to get it at it's like 52 and a half 53 and a half 54 and a half and they project for like 64 wins which is not a good number but it's 10 wins above where the

market has them at they were so bad last year that I think people can't comprehend and the market can comprehend like how they could possibly be any better but chances are there a team that is very bad and got very unlucky last year because that's just how this stuff tends to work we saw at the previous year with the Chicago White Sox where I said this exact same thing bet the Chicago White Sox over I said at the year before with the Oakland A's bet the Oakland A's over because when a team looks that bad they're probably not historically bad the way the Rockies were last year and so if they are just kind of like marginally better just because of natural variance they're going to go over this easy I love that I love that what about the team that you think is going to go well under their win total who's going to be a bad team that you're going to pick on this year? Oh I think the Toronto Blue Jays are one that I'm not as not as bullish on as the market coming off a world series appearance you know they are a team that I think has a number of players that

overperformed last year I know there's a lot of talk of oh well they're playing you know small ball type stuff and you know all in all that's not the type of team that tends to win long-term so I think they overperformed last year I think the San Diego Padres overperformed last year they're definitely a couple of teams I'd be looking at the underzone that's really interesting right now you guys also do your the bat x projections on offenses around major league baseball who do you have as the top offenses obviously the Dodgers are going to be the top offense you know going into major league baseball but maybe some teams that we're not necessarily thinking of as in terms of the top offenses in baseball who are those teams according to your projections? Yeah so obviously the Dodgers are just far and away better than everybody else but rounding out the top five in my projections are the Mariners the Yankees the Metz and the Cubs and I think there can be some sneaky offense out of a team like maybe like the Orioles who

you know you know spiked a couple years ago then kind of fell back like this could be their year that they they kind of get back in the mix I think. I wanted to ask you about the the A's we know what they play in that pen box there in Sacramento so obviously runs are gonna the runs galore right we know that the Pacific Coast League it's just we know the home runs we know we love betting over here but do we also want to take into account that they're going to be playing six games in Vegas this year and that is also a small ballpark where the ball tends to fly out a bunch I've gone to a bunch of aviators games here in town I've seen a ton of home runs in that ballpark especially from players that are actually on the A's right now having played there in that stadium would you factor that in into some of your player projections on some of these Oakland A's players for their power numbers at least. Yeah absolutely and that that is going into the bad ex projections it knows that they're going to play those games in that park and it knows that park is probably going to play very hitter friendly in no small park because the altitude it is very high in Vegas which

is the whole reason why course field is such a huge hitters park Vegas isn't as high as Denver is but it's still very high and I think is going to be very very hitter friendly. Yeah I know I had to add 15 yards every one of my clubs when I started golfing out here Derek just because the ball just travels I thought I was I just thought I just thought I was a monster off the tee but that everyone tells me you got to add like 15 20 yards actually to your shots final thing before we let you go if it's not the Dodgers who is it in the National League this year. It's going to be a team out of the N at least I don't know which one it's going to be I'll say the Phillies probably have the best shot. It's kind of it's pretty bunched up after the Dodgers it's the Phillies it's the Metz it's the Braves maybe the Cubs they're all like right right there projecting very similarly. I like that I think yeah I would agree and you know we'll see what the Phillies look like this year but health is obviously going to play a big factor into most of these teams but I like that I think Phillies and Metz we fun to watch especially that Metz rotation this year with the Youngster McLean getting a full go of it. I'm Scott Saddenberg with you on Vsyn the sports betting network. You guys can always hit me up on Twitter at Scott's on air and at Vsyn live as we monitor all the action here in college basketball, the NBA, the NHL as well. We have games

that are going to tip off momentarily. So let's get you caught up with everything that you need to know. We are all finished in the top 25 in college hoops where if you had some dogs condolences as number nine Nebraska in overtime gets the Wayne and cover against Iowa 8475. You know what they always say over time is where under dogs go to die. So if you had the Iowa Hawkeyes at plus five well didn't work out for you in overtime as they get out scored 14 to five in the extra session and Michigan beats Michigan State 90 to 80 and they push on the line of 10 here at circa. If you had Michigan State plus 10 and a half which you could have gotten at post congratulations you cashed. If you had Michigan State plus nine and a half like yours truly well I lost. That was one of the more bizarre finishes that you'll see in a college basketball game where Tom Izzo just kept fouling late down eight just didn't care just kept fouling and fouling and

fouling and then with 25 seconds left after fouling every time down eight and then you know Michigan making two shots to make it 10 and then making a basket to bring it back down to eight back and forth two free throws layup two free throws layup Michigan State dribbles out the clock and tries to shoot a buzzer beater potentially going for the cover strange but hey they got a shot off didn't go in and not great so that was the situation there and then also on the top 25 in the big 10 as well number 11 Illinois a 78 to 72 win over Maryland so the big 10 regular season comes to a close where Michigan is your number one seed in the big 10 tournament Nebraska winds up being your number two seed Michigan State is your number three seed and Illinois is your number four seed and it didn't matter first party Nebraska two three doesn't matter they're both going to be pinned up against Michigan and the championship game and they both get the top four teams get the buy into the quarterfinals of the big 10 conference tournaments so that should that's going to begin

this week's going to be a lot of fun conference tournament action in progress right now quarterfinals of the CAA thousand dominating Charleston 76 to 50 semi-final of the Sunbelt Troy a 64-50 lead over Southern Miss first round action of the Southland tournament New Orleans a 62-49 lead over Houston Christian semi-final of the Mac that's the MAAC Merrimack a 52-51 lead over Marist with about five minutes to go in that game elsewhere semi-final of the Socon UNC Greensboro a 39-31 lead over Furman they're just beginning the second half there and we are underway big sky championship second round action Portland State a 15-11 early lead over Idaho State still to come West Coast Conference tournament quarterfinal action right here in Vegas San Francisco a three-and-a-half point favorite over Oregon State and then Santa Clara a nine-and-a-half point favorite over Pacific in the NBA in progress right now the pistons uh now looking at four consecutive losses

as the Miami Heat and this game's not over with the NBA's ridiculous we know that there's runs that go on every single night but the heat have an 87 to 66 lead over the Detroit pistons let's take a look at the pistons last couple of games here and I don't know what's going on with this team I don't know if it's just a late season law whatever it is they play two marquee games back to back against the Cleveland Cavaliers a team that they're you know they're going to be competing with the Eastern Conference playoffs right they are they lose one 13-109 at the Cleveland Cavaliers then they go to the Spurs and they face Wembee and the San Antonio Spurs they lose one 21-106 and then yesterday at home against the tanking Brooklyn Nets Detroit gets out scored 34-21 in the fourth quarter they it looked like rolls reversed they looked like the team that was tanking

and they lose to the Brooklyn Nets that is just embarrassing and they come out flat here against the Miami Heat out scored 34-16 in the first quarter and you know what I don't know what it was I don't know me I'm just speculating here but you get out of the cold there in Detroit you can fly down to South Beach after your game on Saturday to Saturday night whatever time you landed there you go out on South Beach it's daylight savings time all of a sudden 2am the clock automatically shifts to 3am you get home you think that hey I'm gonna get some sleep now you get one less hour of sleep now you show up to the arena and you're getting embarrassed I don't know again just speculating but like make sense right it's kind of like in football I always

like doing this and maybe I should have looked at this in the NBA and maybe I should look at it from like you know at this point of the season but I always like fading cold weather teams that go down to Florida in either you know during the like the portion of the season where it's warmer down in Florida than it is in there in their cold weather city so not in September like in September we know the Florida teams have the advantage because of the humidity right you go play at Miami you go play at Jacksonville in September it's just so humid the temperature might be 89 degrees it feels like it's 100 right it's just it's brutal for those road teams that go down there earlier in the year but then a little bit later in the year when it starts to get chilly up in the north northeast you know wherever you are green Bay Buffalo right why do you think the Patriots always they always always used to lose when they went down to Miami late in this late in the year because it's kind of like your body goes into vacation mode you get out of some cold

temperature and you get off that plane in Miami and all of a sudden it's like you don't need a jacket it's a little bit I'm not saying it's it's not hot summer weather but it's like you know 70 degrees 75 degrees and you get off the plane you just came from 30 to 40 degree temperature and now you're in 70 degree weather and it's beautiful and your body just kind of goes into like this vacation mode now it's pretty cold in Detroit these days coming off a loss here at home against the Brooklyn nets you hop on a plane you get down to Miami you hit the town for a little bit you hit up south beach you're on ocean drive and then all of a sudden you got to go to the arena for a game and you get walloped by the Miami Heat maybe there's something to it there elsewhere we're going to the fourth quarter in Toronto it's all raptors over the Mavericks 88 to 66 wizards and pelicans are tied at 42 second quarter action there from New Orleans still to come top of the hour the

magic are at the box Orlando a six and a half point favorite the rockets are at the spurs San Antonio a five and a half point favorite I got to play in this game coming up here at the top of the hour I'm going to go with Kevin Durant to go under his points prop 23 and a half points you can get a 24 and a half but that's a little bit more juiced here it's a little little interesting but I would take the reduced Vig maybe on the under 23 and a half points two games against San Antonio this season and Wembenyama Durant only averaging 22 points in those two games so perhaps there's something to the way that Wembee plays defense we all we know that these teams or these scorers have a difficult time when they go up against Wembee because you can't get the same shots inside that you normally do but again with the guy like Durant with his size how do they want to deploy him last time he faced San Antonio he was eight of 17 from the field he finished with 24 points on again that's not that's actually decent shooting eight of 17 and then

an earlier game this season against San Antonio let's see eight of 18 and he got 24 points in that game so you know interesting let's see was that the only two times or was that another time that he played against San Antonio I might be missing one here but yeah we're gonna say we're gonna go ahead and get Durant to go under his points prop here against Victor Wembenyama and the San Antonio Spurs San Antonio five and a half point favorite Eileen San Antonio covering in this game hard to argue with anybody playing better basketball right now than the San Antonio Spurs who had that 11 game winning streak snapped and then after losing that game they immediately bounced back which that's a great spot to be betting the team by the way when they suffer a loss after that long winning streak they always tend to bounce back they won three straight since and they are just putting up big numbers offensively defensively and I do like them here going up against the Houston Rockets I'm Scott Zydenberg always on Twitter at Scots on air SCOTTS
