Few things are as uplifting as the greatest moments in sports. And nothing brings us together quite like Team USA at the Olympic Winter Games. From NBC Universal's iconic storytelling to the innovative technology across Xfinity and Peacock, Comcast brings the Olympic Games home to America, sharing every moment with millions. When Team USA steps onto the world stage, we're not just watching. We're cheering together. This winter, we're all on the same team. Comcast, proud partner of Team USA. This is LiveBet Saturday on V-San,
Z-SportsBetter Network. Top of the hour here on your LiveBet Saturday. We are not in Kentucky today. What a shame. We're only out here in Las Vegas, Nevada here at the beautiful Circle Resort, Casito. And there is a packed house back here behind us. And it's a beautiful thing. I've been here since Wednesday night and believe me. You talk about no clocks on the wall. I haven't needed clocks on the wall, man. It's been a great experience for me and my crew that we're out here. But we got to get back to business here on this LiveBet Saturday. I'm Brad Taylor, along with Will Hill, trying to get some, uh, watch these games and cash some tickets here on your elite eight Saturday. We're back to live action down in Houston, Iowa, 30 to 26 now up on Illinois, about two and a half minutes to go with this first half. Illinois, three and a half point favorite on your live betting line. And that unders showing a little more value as we go along one thirty seven and a half is now your live betting total. You're interested in the money line minus two forty five with Illinois
plus one eighty five with Iowa. Will Hill, your thoughts on this game as we are nearing the end of the first half this first elite eight contest. Yeah, I would shot the three really well, Mr. like three or four attempts in a row. Couple spun out. They finally got one to fall. So we just keep going through this where Iowa starts the game up, you know, nine or ten points, Illinois creeps back. Iowa extends Illinois creeps back again. It's just been this cat and mouse game and Illinois cut it to one. Iowa hits a three and they've been in a long scoring drought to get it from one back to four. And then a cheap foul, a stupid foul, just defending an inbound pass. They bump the receiver of the ball, uh, Stoyakovich. And hey, you're in the bonus and that is two free points, two cheap points as Stoyakovich knocks a couple down. So man, it's just, uh, Iowa is a smart team. Well, you're the underdog. You're undersized. You're kind of underman. You can't just be given away cheap points at the fouling like that. They're showing the graphic now. Combs starts and sage all with two fouls.
So something to keep an eye on here, uh, in terms of the foul trouble here. A couple guys with two, you know, you're already at the half. So it's not like you're in grave peril here, but it is something to consider as Iowa throws the ball away. So sloppy sequence here. These last couple of minutes as we near the half, uh, a careless foul, which gave away two points. And now a turnover and just an empty possession here for Iowa. They show McComb. He is frustrated as he would imagine there. So two point game. I don't think Illinois has had the lead the entire game. And they can tire take the lead here with a three. So uh, been a good game though. Been a good game, a competitive game. And we'll see here how this happens. Good game, memorable game, 10 minute delay. Midway through the half for a man with horn. Apparently, uh, couldn't control the horn. But we are still sitting now with about a little over a minute to go first half. Iowa 3028. Is there a, if you, we talk a lot of times about psychological advantages. We're trying to maybe hand to cap these games live betting in line.
If Illinois tied this game before the half, since, uh, since Iowa has dominated, you want to say dominated, but they've led the entire game. Illinois gets this thing to even. Would that be something maybe second half you'd say, Hey, I think Illinois is going to run away with this now. The competitive edge mentally here. I mean, I got the seven. So I'm not going to get off the bet. But that would be a concern as once again, Iowa, just a careless possession. A careless turnover, a sloppy pass. They throw it out of bounds. So this is two trips in a row now. They've just thrown the ball out of bounds. Kind of unforced here. And when you're the underdog, really when you're any team, especially underdog, you can't afford to just do stupid things like this. And give the basketball away, give possessions away. So Illinois, once again, with a chance to tie or take the lead. And I'm sure McCollum is going to have plenty to talk to his team about at the half because this has not been a great sequence here. As a three that would have given Illinois rims out, but Iowa can't quite control the rebound. It's going to go back to Illinois. The kid on Iowa saying, hey, got fouled, they got pushed. And he's got some words for the ref.
But between fouling on the in bounce pass, and then a couple of sloppy careless turnovers here. Iowa, you know, this could be a five, six point lead. If they just played a little smarter here in the last couple of minutes instead, it's two and Illinois's got the ball here with a chance to tie or take the lead. We are now inside the final minute here, the first half. And yeah, like we like you were talking about, it is something to consider. If Illinois does tie this thing up or maybe hit a three and get a one point lead going into the half, all that effort, all that good play that Iowa's had this first half, maybe all for nothing is Iowa now gets a rebound. It looks like they'll get close to the last shot of the first half. Shot clocks about 14 different than the game clock. And they get an easy layup anyway. 32, 28 is Iowa ahead here. And there is a timeout on the floor that looks like they're going to sit up their defense is Iowa here with their one first half timeout. Four point lead for Iowa. Last possession of the half conceivably for Illinois here. 32, 28 live betting line minus three and a half total really coming down now.
134 to half is your live betting total. Well, I think our total is looking pretty good here under and under the total and the underdog. Not a bad little play here for pre flop. Your thoughts on what Illinois is going to do. Should they just take the final shot or just maybe try to force the issue here since they're losing. Yeah, and correlated there between the underdog and the under, especially with team like Iowa, I lead towards the under. I got burned with it the other day pointing the under in Iowa and Nebraska. And that just never had a chance even though it slowed down to the second half. That flew way over early and pretty comfortably. So I don't want to go back to it but kind of kicking myself now because this has been after a decent start offense. So this has been a pretty dead nut under here. But yeah, if you're Illinois, you hold for the last shot. If I'm Iowa, I'm not going to make it easy for you to just, you know what? I'll back off and I'll let you control the pace here. I'm going to play a little pressure on you. Know what? I don't want to foul, but I want to force your hand here because I know what you're trying to do. I know you're trying to just dribble out the clock. So Florida does this a lot. The smart teams are doing this a lot.
When one team has last possession and can hold for the last shot, heard a little pressure on him. You know what? Make them handle the ball. You don't want to foul. But see if you can make them uncomfortable or maybe force a turnover because they're not going to shoot. So you can handle them as long as you don't foul. You can handle them because you know, even if you cheat and you get too aggressive, they're not going to look to shoot. And if they do, you know what? You'll gladly take the ball back and you get last possession. So we'll see here if Iowa puts a little pressure on Illinois. And Iowa was pretty quick to call a time out on like Herb Sendeck last week. As soon as that ball went in, he said, I want time. I want to talk a little bit of last possession. Maybe he's deciding, you know, what to do here to put a little pressure on Illinois. But regardless, if you bet Iowa on the money line in the first half, you're looking like you're going to catch that ticket here. Four point game, 30 seconds to go. And Illinois, the best they can do is probably get one score here, barring. You know, some disaster here. Iowa is going to go into the locker room with the lead. Don't you dare talk about that with the people back. Lexington Kentucky about that Herb Sendeck time out. They ran over every rule in the book.
And this is now here's the reason why that's not a time out. The other team had the ball in their hands. Are they they had all the it's it depends on who you are in life. As we're about ready to get back to action here in this game. And you make a good point here about putting pressure on the ball coming out of this time out. They only they have eight team fouls. Does Iowa right now? So it's it's a one in one foul. It's not a two shot foul. Yeah, if they get called. So that's a big difference between automatic two and a one in one. You could get a potential turnover with that one in one. So we'll see what happens as we are back to live action. We think and the guy man with horn is sitting over there with his air horn to get know which ones to shot clock horn and which ones the the game club. I don't even think he knows looking at him there. So yeah, we will try to figure out without the sound on here in the studios. Both here and with Will will try to figure out when the horns actually go off. Lights will go out above the the backboards here is Illinois will take the bond about down four. They are pressuring here. We'll like you.
They are showing a little pressure. So I think McComb. I think he called that time out for two reasons. Hey, let's make sure let's let's bother him a little bit. Let's not just make it easy for them to drill about the clock and get into the last possession. Let's put a little pressure on the ball. And he got starts his best player who has two fouls. He got him out of the game. So you know what? I don't need my best player picking up a cheap third foul. I'll live with the last possession without him. Let me get him off the court. So McComb sharp. He doesn't miss a beat here. And that pressure causes a turnover. Now is one and a half seconds left. Probably not enough to do with it to do anything with it. But Iowa was hounding them the entire time. Iowa, you see this a lot, Brad and college groups. One team has the final shot. The other team just kind of relaxes and says, all right, you know, dribble out the clock and then get your offense. Iowa bothered them the whole time. They forced a turnover. We'll see here. They're going to inbound a little shy of half court. So I don't know if they'll do the play where you throw it. Across half court and then call time out. So you can inbound it closer. That wouldn't be a bad idea. Or maybe you just, you know, you take a shot and try to, you know, shoot a half court shot here. As Iowa will do the ladder here. The shot from half court is no good.
Well, there was a lot of that was dangerous. There was a defender right there. That defender for Illinois put himself in a precarious position because I don't know that that was a foul. But that's a lot closer on a half court shot than you want to get. I don't know if you had a good deal with that. But that was nearly a foul. Nearly disastrous end for Illinois. But we go to the locker room 32 to 28. Iowa, the underdog, the Cinderella with the lead, Brad. You said it 32 28. Iowa at half time here. The live betting line. Illinois still a three and a half point favorite. Total is still creeping down. Minus is 133 and a half here. The money line numbers here. Illinois minus 200. Iowa plus 154. So if you were just jumping in right now, will is it something you would say, Hey, Iowa's hung tough. They've outplayed Illinois this first half. And I'm still getting plus 150 or more on this money line. Is that something that you would look to play or maybe just kind of just hold your hold your pre flop bet with Iowa getting the seven?
Probably just hold. I'll ask you out. If you ask me right now who wins, I still think Illinois figures out a way to win eventually Iowa cools down from the line. Illinois starts to make some threes. Get some second chance opportunities. I'll say right now Illinois wins, but doesn't cover the pre flop seven. What do you say? I was going to cover this game, but I'd like you. If I was jumping in this right right now, I think I would have to take Illinois lay in that three and a half chalk. I think that's going to be your magic lawyer area. The three to seven area. They're kind of like a football game. So yeah, you're getting the value with Illinois now. And I think I would take Illinois. If I was jumping in, but pre flop, I had Illinois the seven, just like you did. I had the under 138 to half. So yeah, I'm just sticking with what I had there because I feel like those are winners. From the V-San Studios, here at the circus sportsbook, here on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. I am Brad Taylor, along with Will Hill on your live bet Saturday. We are at half time of this elite eight region, South region game. We now in Illinois 32-28 right now. I was leading current live betting line, Illinois 2 and a half point favorite. 133 and a half year total. But at a time like this, when we got a break in the action, what better time to calm us down and explain what to do with this college basketball stuff than on the progressive guest line he is.
Greg Hoops, Peterson. You can find him at G-Unit underscore 81. And of course, never miss the Coast to Coast Hoops podcast, which he does while he's running a marathon. Most days, that's why he's got some sun today. Greg, how are you today, sir? I'm doing great and man is great that we don't have a horn going off for 11th straight minutes on this show as well. So that's a good thing as well. Well, when you're making some bad picks, there might be a better thing to have on this show when you're picking losers. I'd rather hear somebody with a whore than somebody missing, costing me money every day. Your thoughts on this game so far? Iowa in Illinois. Yes, we saw Illinois seven point favorite. That line peaked up. What's we got closer to game time from six and a half to seven? Total was 138 and a half. So it looks like dog and under might have been the pre-flaw place. You're thought on this game so far, Greg. Yeah, but I personally am in on Iowa and the over here. So hoping that we get some late game fouls to be able to perhaps push this all over. But I thought that the blueprint for Iowa
was going to be the same as in that game against Florida. Because I mean, they're at the same disadvantage that they had in that game against Florida. Florida's such a good team on the boards. But not necessarily the world's greatest scene in terms of taking care of the ball. Illinois much better in terms of taking care of the ball. But Illinois loves to shoot threes. Talked 20 team in terms of percent of their field goal attempts that come from three and they only made one three in the first half. Iowa is a much better perimeter defense than they are in low post defense. So Illinois is right now playing right in the hands of Iowa. Iowa's done a great job with Bennett Sturz, TBM Banks, the company in the back. We're doing a solid job in terms of controlling this game and for Ben McComb. It just feels like he always has an answer to be able to address things when his team might be a little bit outside like in this game. Illinois clearly has a size range. But Iowa has done such a great job with that backward. I expected that to be the case. And I don't know if Iowa can be able to win outright. But take the points here and right now feel very good about what I saw in the first half. Yeah, and I did just parlay. Iowa's second half with the under figuring.
If Iowa wins the second half, you're not going to get the free throws at the end because it's going to be a closer game. So I think those are correlated here. I missed the boat on the first half. But I'm jumping in Iowa and the second half under. But let's get to tonight. Arizona at first glance. I thought the five and a half was a little cheap against Purdue. But the more I look at it, you know what? Purdue, they don't foul. They do a good job walking off the rim. Arizona has lived at the free throw line in this tournament. It's not the worst matchup for Purdue. I lean towards Arizona, but I understand the sentiment for Purdue. Where do you stand with this game? I did take the points with Purdue. Now, truth be told, I took Purdue to win the whole thing in my bracket. I don't feel so great about that as of right now. I can tell you that. But I was willing to take the points with Purdue. You were getting six half a little bit earlier down to five and a half. I'd still be willing to take five and a half. I still do think that the old mantra and the adage of guards win and march is going to be a whole truth here with Purdue. They've got a backward and fluctuate lawyer along with Brandon Smith that obviously played in the national title a few seasons ago. And I think that a lot of people will be surprised about this.
If you look at defensive rebound percentage and games played away from home, Purdue actually has the edge there. Drake Hoffman, Ren Oscar Kluff, they combine for 16 rebounds per game. I think that they stand up to Toby a walk out line with Mountain U.S. Crevaz, who combine for about 17 rebounds per game for Arizona. Now Arizona, while they don't take a lot of threes, when they need to take threes, they're Jane Bradley has been rock solved with that regard. Effie Del Rosso has been a pretty good three point shooter as well. But I think that Purdue is going to do a nice job. It's going to take care of the ball. Arizona 19 that's going to generate a bunch of turnovers and Purdue in games played away from home. They actually need the country and points per possession, but they play super slowly. Three or 40 seconds in terms of total possession spring, total about 152 and a half, 153 took the under and those points here. Purdue. History tells us that Rick Barnes is a lousy coach in March. History also tells us that Tennessee has never made a final four. But yet tomorrow, Tennessee will be playing Michigan
and the winner does go to the final four. Michigan right now seven half point favorite. I see some juice forming here on Michigan, where it might look like this line could get up to eight here. As history tells us, Rick Barnes lost double digit games with Kevin Durant on his team. So it's got to be him, not the players, right? But I think I'm taking Tennessee, getting seven half points tomorrow. Your thoughts on Tennessee and Michigan for another team right to go to the final four. And we always talk about, oh, player X player Y, they've turned the corner. Why can't coaches turn the corner as well? Because this is a third straight elite. That Tennessee has made as well. So perhaps it was Rick Barnes was choking with Texas a little bit less with Tennessee. Now, obviously with Tennessee, they had their troubles in terms of covering this brand about three to four years ago in the NCAA tournament. Feels like those are getting rectified a little bit more. I do like the points here with Tennessee. Firstly, I took seven half. If you can get eighth, that is all the better.
But I think the Tennessee holds in there because they do such a good job on the last. They rebound 44.4% of their mid shots as an offensive rebound. That is number one in all of college basketball. And for Michigan, they're always looking to control things down low. They're a team that ranks number two in the country with their two point training percentage. Eighth with regards to their own overall rebound percentage. But the main crypto night for Tennessee will not be really, shall we say, uncovered in this game. Tennessee to earn 37th in terms of turnovers on the perpossession basis on offense. Michigan to earn 80th in terms of generating turnovers with Michigan's inability to generate turnovers. That means more clean possessions for Tennessee. I think we're going to see a little bit more out of date. Amen, moving forward to many people believe it's going to be a lottery pick in this year's draft was really good in SEC play. It's been a little bit hot and cold here in the NCAA tournament. But for Tennessee, that defense is still a rock song. We saw what they were able to do in terms of containing Milan, Memandsellovich in that game yesterday. I guess I would say I like the points to your with Tennessee and that 146 total.
That's my bare minimum by point here on the over. So I told more around 146 F 147. So I'm going to see how this moves over the next few hours. But at that 146, we'll look at the over to go a lot of points with Tennessee. Greg, I can't wait for this game. Yukon versus Duke. Danny Hurley said in his press conference today. Since the 1990s, these are the two most successful programs in college basketball. I can't argue with that. I can't lay points against Hurley Duke. He's been in trouble in all three of these games. They've trailed in the second half. I know Yukon's hit or miss, but it would be Yukon or nothing for me. How do you see this game going? I am going to be ball in the play the points with Duke. I did set them as a seven point favorite for Duke. I actually think that this is a little bit of an easier match up then in the last round against St. John's. Now for Yukon being able to give Silas Temmary back, I think it's big because he is their main facilitator. A guy that gives you about 6.2 assists per game, but for this Duke team, having Caleb Foster back is massive. In the five games that they were without him,
team was shooting just 30% from three, about 43 and a half or so percent from the four, getting him back, getting 12 points off the bench out of him. Absolutely massive. My opinion and I do think that with this new team, it just makes them all the better on offense. Duke is currently second in the country, in terms of points a lot on a perpossession basis on defense, but that offense really feasts sound low. There are top five team at terms points scored on a perpossession basis. Now they are going to have their hands full with tears. Redo is able to give you eight plus rebounds per game and we saw him against Ferman. Actually have more rebounds than the entire Ferman team, which I still think is one of the wildest stats of the entire college basketball season, but I think that Duke is going to be able to stand up to him, getting back Patrick and Kong by as well. We see a thundery towards the front half of the NCAA tournament. Duke, it feels like finally as their full alignment of guys back to the fold, I think that that makes them dominant once again. So do like the over one, three, three and a half and I'm willing to lay the number here with Duke. Greg, we'll get you out of here on this one. We got a halves and a half knots in this elite eight right now.
Arizona, Duke, Michigan, your halves, everybody else your have knots, including Illinois, who's losing right now. If I was to make one future bet on this tournament the rest of the way, what would you do? I would say Duke to make the title game. Like I don't care who wins in that game between Illinois and Iowa. I think that they get the job down there. I think that they get the job down against you can't hear tomorrow as well. So Duke to be able to make the title game. I don't know if I'd want the future on them to be on the win the national championship, but them to be able to just make the title game. That's what I'd be looking at. There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Greg hoops Peterson. You can find him on the Twitter at on G unit underscore 81. And don't forget tonight. He is hosting cashing out right after us here tonight. So yeah, Greg Peterson will be ready to tell you what happened to these final four games as only he can. And he will give you his best bets once again for tomorrow on the rest of the way. Greg, we look forward to hearing from you next week. I bet that final four.
And of course, don't forget Greg hoops Peterson is also Mr. baseball around here too. Greg, thanks so much for joining us. And don't forget to catch him tonight on cashing out right after us. And until the next time go catch him tickets for tonight, will you buddy? You gentlemen do the same and can't wait to be starting to talk some baseball in a few weeks as well. So it's the coming of age of all these sports and always appreciate you guys. Thank you very much on the progressive guest line. Greg hoops Peterson who just goes straight from college basketball to baseball and then it goes back and it's back and forth all weekend long all year long. So yeah, he's going to be all right after us tonight on cashing out. That's 10 Eastern. But of course by then, I'll already be at the stake house. We'll have in my $100 stake. How you like their maples? But we're going to get back to live action here. They'll lead 8th. We're going to get back to serious this. That's next here on VCIT, the sports betting network.
This is live best Saturday on VCIT, the sports betting network. From the polacious VCIT studios right above the circus sports book at the circuit resorting casino, kind of something that I've been looking forward to for a long time to come out here to do live bet Saturday from this studio in this city. My name is Brad Taylor along with Will Hill here at your live bet Saturday. Before we get back to live action, we're about ready to start this second half. Will I have a question for you today is March 28th, 2026th, 34 years ago today. Was the infamous Christian Latender shot against Kentucky. And as you most people who watch this show, no, I was born and raised in the state of Kentucky. I spent 25 years in Atlanta, but I was born and raised in the state of Kentucky. Do you remember that shot? Do you remember where you were? Because I can remember everything about that night and what happened with the Christian Latender shot? Will Hill, do you remember that show? That shot.
No, I was too young. This was probably right before I started watching sports. So what year was that 1992? Yes, I am old. You don't have to remind me, but I was seven. I was seven. So I was watching sports then and pretty much shortly after I come. I'm sure I saw it on sports center, but don't have a bunch of like, I don't really recall it. Shortly after that, I can pretty much remember everything that happened. You know, you bring up this day in anniversaries and something I have a very clear memory of living in Connecticut and it's timely here with Yukon playing Duke tomorrow. This is now the 27th. Oh my goodness, 27th anniversary game. I'm sure you remember very well that loaded Duke team with Trajan Langdon, and Corey McGatty and Elton Brand going up against Yukon in their first ever final four, their first ever national championship and Yukon beat him 7774. Hit a couple free throws at the end. Khalid Al-Alamin is young. We shocked the world and that's going to be a rematch we see tomorrow. But today is the 27 year anniversary of that game. So today a very significant date in college basketball history.
It's amazing. It's 27 years ago. And there's a great story about that Jim Calhoun told the day before that game. So I'm at Sunday. They were supposed to they had a practice supposed to be a two hour practice. 45 minutes in, he says he ended practice. He blows the whistle and he said, you guys play like this. Nobody's going to beat you. I'll see you tomorrow. And he said they're having a good practice and it carried over into the game. And that was like they were like a nine, nine and a half point dog that night. They were a pretty significant dog. And that was a good Yukon team, but that was a great, great Duke team. Back when you could really still load your college team with NBA guys and they'd stay in multiple years. And Yukon beat him in one of the great, great final games. I remember Jake Voskov, Richard Hamilton, Elemin, the point guard, that was just a really good college basketball team was what that was. But I'm shocked that they played that final on March 28th, though, because they always would play him in April. I don't remember that being played in March. So yeah, that's that was a great game.
And Duke had that ball down three. And I don't think we was kind of widely known to to foul on a three pointer in 1998. The foul when you're down three and when you're conscious of. So, but anyway, we're back to live action. It lo and behold, while we're talking about Kristen later, as only he would have an effect on, Illinois comes out the second half. And they're up, they're now up 3332 on Iowa. A 50 run to start the first, the second half. And it looks like they just stole the ball from Iowa as well. And though you got called for a foul and they're not happy. So Illinois up 3332 and the live betting line reflects it. Seven and a half now. Illinois is favored. Minute half into this second half. One thirty three and a half year total. And that that money line is already skyrocketed. Illinois minus three forty five here, Will. So five oh run is all you need. And it's already kind of overpriced for us here, Will. All that work you did if your Iowa to play this great first half. And here you are.
The live line is just the same as it was before the game. It feels like they've led. I mean, they have led doesn't feel like they've led. They have led throughout feels like they have. I don't want to say been in control because it's never felt like they've been in control. There's a difference between being in lead and being in control. They've had the lead. It hasn't felt like, all right, you know, they're in good shape here. They've just kind of been doing enough to keep Illinois at arm's length. The lead would get to seven or nine and it would quickly go down boom to two or three. And that was the cat mouse game of the entire first half. But now Illinois has taken the lead and just looking at some of these stats in the first half, you got to be a little concerned if your Iowa not only just to win the game, but to cover the number of 57% from the floor, 50% from three as opposed to Illinois with 37% from the floor, 13% from three. And can that sustain and can Iowa survive on the glass here and not just get mauled with second chance opportunities? Because you can live with second chance opportunities. If your opponent is shooting 13% from three, it's a bad combination. If you're going to get killed on the boards and your opponent's going to make a bunch of shots.
So as Iowa has done all game, they answer. They hit a three. They are backup by two. But we'll see here how this half plays out and how this game plays out. And hopefully for our sake, not only for our ticket sake, but just the entertainment of the show. Hopefully, you know, like this is anybody's game with four or five minutes to go. And we get a classic elite A game here between these two teams. There's nothing that I've seen that makes me think that either one of these teams is going to blow out the other one. And we would expect it from Illinois if we expect it from anybody. But I think Iowa's going to hang tough with this through the rest of the way, making that pre-flop seven point point spread bet. Pretty much a good feeling right now to have. But like we say, the live betting line is Illinois five and a half, total one thirty one and a half slowly. But surely this total keeps dropping very, very slowly. As we go throughout this game to help us with that underbet, as we're sitting over three minutes now into this second half. And Iowa's still up thirty five, thirty three in this one. If we saw this at the end of the first half, Illinois just knocks down a three.
And it is thirty six, thirty five. If we had seen this right at the end of the first half, this first three minutes of this half with Illinois getting this lead, do you think that that might have created a spot where you would have taken maybe, Iowa maybe getting a little bit more action here? Because everybody would have thought, well, this is going to be over now. Illinois is going to take a run this off, you know? Yeah, I mean, we both grabbed the seven. So we've gone through this thing the entire game of, as as you said, Illinois hits a three to take the lead. Iowa missed a three that would have put them up five. And then we get a six point swing as Illinois comes down in hits a three to go up by one. I mean, you have a good number with the seven. Do you really want to split ten and try to get cute and go with the Illinois money line? I don't think it's the worst idea. But I've held surf here with, you know what? I made my bet on Iowa put seven. I'll stick with that and just kind of play it out. Although I could understand if you had no action whatsoever and you see the shooting splits and you see Illinois shooting poorly and Iowa shooting well in the game is still close and now Illinois has a lead.
You say, you know what? This isn't going to last forever. I'm going to jump in on Illinois. That's not the worst process in the world. That's not the worst thought process to think, you know what? Eventually here, Illinois is going to make some shots and win the game. Whether they win it by enough to cover the pre-flot number, who knows. But Illinois is too good on offense to continue to shoot this poorly. You would think as Iowa hits another three here. So Iowa, give him credit, man, mentally tough. Every time Illinois gets a lead or makes a little run, Iowa with a little jab back to, you know, to stay in front here. Hey, you don't think the referees know about the foul count? First three minutes of this half, Illinois had three fouls called on them. The first 20 minutes of the game, they had three fouls called on them. You don't think that that's an issue. I think it's an issue as Illinois gets a bucket to tie this thing up at 38. And they do hit the free throw. 39, 38 now, Illinois. I think this was going to the wire, folks. Six and a half is your live betting line on Illinois. 136 and a half. Now your total that's rising now.
It's after being dropping for the past kind of half hour. So minus 3 30 Illinois on the money line plus 240 is Illinois. Illinois, excuse me, as Iowa is plus 240, excuse me. Illinois, up by one here, Will, your thoughts on this one. As we get down to the next, the first media time out of this half. Yeah, the second half trending over here because the second half totally was 73 and a half and the live half time number was six and a half. So right now we're at 10 and a half for the second half number and 74 and a half. So it looks like we're going to get a little bit of a law here. We talk about this all the time doing these live bet shows is Iowa. Boy, they had an open three. They passed up on it. But you can tell what's going on in the action just by looking at your phone, which is not always a fun way to watch the game. And you kind of know what's going to happen. It's almost like getting a spoiler as a three does not go for Iowa. Because you can tell when that total drops two or three points, when you're looking at your phone and looking at your app, you know that there's a dry spell of three or four possessions coming
in some empty some empty possessions. And that's exactly what we've gotten. So that live total dropped a couple points before our eyes. And that's an indication here that we have some misses coming as these teams just just trade about four or five misses back and forth the other way since that and one bread. It's almost like Illinois is daring Iowa to take control of this game right now. It's like they could. It's it feels like Iowa could get a couple of threes and really get out and do something here. But I was unable to do it as we are now under the under 16 minute time out. First media time out of this half and it is 39 38 Illinois is up with 1501 to go in this game. Five and a half is your live betting line with Illinois. 133 and a half your total. So yeah, we've got a lot to go in this game 15 minutes left. But you've got the group chat. as we've got elite eight action going on down at Houston. And we got a tie ball game. It is number nine Iowa and number three Illinois 39 39. Well, Illinois just scored a bucket is 41 39. Illinois is leading 14 minutes to go in this game. Your live betting lines Illinois five and a half point favorite. They open to seven point favorite one thirty two and a half is your total. They open it one thirty eight and a half. Money line Illinois minus three fifteen. Iowa plus two thirty. Your thoughts right now Will as we are entering the midway portion of this second half with the Illinois up by two. Yeah, ugly miss from three for Iowa, but it looks like he got tipped by an Illinois player and Iowa is going to keep possession. I'm nervous. I am nervous and it's funny. It seems like every time we update the line for the past hour and a half, it's between four and a half or five and a half with a few deviations for the most part. It seems like the live line has been there for like 90 percent of this game. I'm just worried because the last bucket for Illinois came off a miss
an offensive rebound and then a put back. I just don't know like eventually Iowa who's shooting the ball extremely well and Illinois is not shooting the ball well at all. Eventually if that evens out with the second chance opportunities, that's just a bad recipe, a bad combination here for Iowa. So they're either going to have to clean up the glass or maintain this shooting advantage over Illinois. I don't know which one is more likely more problem. But you know what 13 minutes ago two point game. We're getting seven points. You can't feel too bad about it. But it worries me the shooting and it worries me the second chance opportunities. As I say that, Iowa from three. It is good and they once again take the lead. So let's hope they're in this for the whole 40 minutes. But again, the advantage on the glass and just the shooting disparity is something where you just feel like it's a matter of time before Illinois. Gets like a two or three possession lead and goes on a run. But and as you say that, Illinois gets a pretty easy basket at the rim. Iowa has hung in so far. So one point game back and forth. We go and we'll see here what goes goes on from here.
I'm sure if I looked at the line here without looking probably probably where we've been four and a half something like that, right? Very close. Three and a half is your live current betting line here with Illinois. But there's juice on that three and a half minus one 20 total one 34 and a half. As we are sitting with 1242 remaining in this game. Money line is coming back down here. Illinois only a minus 245 in the money line. Plus 185 is Iowa. So yeah, there we go. Iowa is still hanging tough here in this one. As the new kids used to tell us back of the day. As we do see Iowa going to the free throw line to shoot two two shots here. To see if they can actually tie or take the lead in this one. As yeah, the first shot is good. So we are tied at 43 and yes, that's second shot. We'll be coming and it is good as well. Iowa now leading 44 43 Illinois a three and a half point favorite here. As they're showing the parents of the players and the we just saw the mother of McCollum, the coach of Iowa, the mom looks all that's it to look as old as he does the coach.
I don't know if that's maybe a good thing or a bad thing here Will. Do we have anything that might affect our handicapping with that knowledge? No, she certainly has aged well. It's a good point and what McCollum is in his mid 40s. Yeah, so she's got to be like in her 70s. She does she does look like she would be younger than that. As long as we're not seeing the parents as much as we saw Carlos Booser last night during the Duke St. John's game and a lot of these games man. Every time Booser makes a bucket and he makes plenty of him. He's a great player. They show Booser. He's in the stands. He's screaming and yelling and cheering. It's it's a little overboard at times. So they've I think taking it a little bit easy on us in terms of the parents. Last year it was it was the UConn Florida game where the cameraman was just obsessed with Liam McNeil. He's mom and showed her probably a dozen times throughout that game. So these uh, you know these directors, these cameraman get fixated sometimes on these certain people in the crowd. And we just kind of want to watch the game. But we'll see here back to the action as Illinois finally gets a three to drop.
A two point lead for Illinois. I believe is their biggest lead in the game so far Brad. I think you're right. And Iowa had a 10 point lead at 12 to 2 at one point. And yeah, we've seen nine lead changes in the last six and a half minutes in this one. Our producer John Lund says, yeah, the Booser drinking game when they show Booser in the stands in the due game. Yeah, I don't think you'll make it to halftime. I did have over on the times they showed the later shot against Kentucky last night. They only showed it once that I saw. So that's we need to figure out maybe one of those projection sites. Maybe had that one. But we are now tied in this one. Iowa Illinois 46. All we are inside of 12 minutes. So the next stoppage of play will be a time out. And it looks like Iowa has the ball. But no, they're going to call a foul here. It looks like as we're going to a media time out. Wow. So we'll see what that call was. There was contact on a three. Yeah. What do you think they called? Did they maybe call the shooter for kicking his legs out? Let's see. Because there was the Illinois player shoots a three.
We're going to look at the replay now. Oh, I guess the defender was peddling and they're going to call the shooter for tripping them up. I guess that's a very unusual call man. You don't see that call very often where the shooter there's contact. And then the shooter gets whistled for a little tangle. So that was that was dangerous there. If you had Iowa like us, you're thinking man, please don't let this be a three shot foul. It's not it's going to be Iowa ball. So you can all take a deep breath under 12 minute time out. It just feels like Brad. I mean, look, I want to catch this plus seven. It just feels like that clock's just not going fast enough. Get me to like four or five minutes left and have this game still be tied. And I'll feel really good about the plus seven. But it just with 11 change left, I know we're getting there. But you just you just hold your breath that one of these Illinois runs is not coming. I don't want to get chicken noodle soup over here fuel and out of the can here tonight. I need the berry steak. So yeah, we do need that. Dirt. We do need that underdog to hit. Looking at the live betting line and we didn't we don't hear this.
Look at the live betting line. I think that call is going Iowa's way because it is three and a half now with Illinois favored 135 and a half your total. That is just reading tea leaves. I don't have the live update in terms of maybe a play by play. Yeah, they called it on Illinois. They called it okay. Okay, I didn't know that for sure. I'm just reading the the point spread of the live betting line. That's kind of what the assumption I made based on that. Because if they had called that against Iowa, yeah, you probably would see four and a half or something like that in terms of that. So like you said, that's line has been from three and a half to five and a half. Basically since I sense Illinois came back from that 12 to two deficit. It's been around the same line basically all day. And the totals been in the low to mid one thirties. Pretty much since the middle of the first half too. So yeah, we've got this game coming up right now. Iowa and Illinois, don't forget right after this one. If you think we're having some fun here, we've got Purdue and Arizona. And in Will Hill's big circa college basketball contest here tonight, he picked Arizona. But did he pick Arizona because he really thinks they're the best team?
Did he pick that they're really going to put cover this point spread? Or is that part game theory? Arizona right now a five and a half point favorite. We see some juice on them. So if this line moves, it looks like it'll go to six total 152 and a half will describe your game theory and why you picked Arizona in the circa college basketball contest? I mean, part of it is I know there's people in front of me. And there's only so many games left that like Purdue. And at some point, if you want to win this thing and I do want to win it, I don't know that I'll be able to, but I want to make up ground. I got to be able to make up ground. So trying to gain a gain there. So there is a little strategy to that. But I didn't want to go against my instinct. I've been back and forth on this. I know Purdue. You can make some cases. Arizona lives at the foul line. Purdue doesn't foul. Purdue does a good job defending the rim. There's some things here that Purdue, if they're going to make the three, like they did in the first couple of games of the tournament, they're going to be in really good shape here. If we do have a review here, Iowa Illinois, I'm not sure what the conclusion is going to be. But ultimately, when this line opened, I thought the five and a half was a little light.
So I went there and I'm going to play on my first instinct, even though again, you can make cases for both these teams. And we're at the point of the season. We know a lot about these teams. The market's very sharp. There's a lot of eyeballs. There's a lot of attention on these lines. The middle of December, there's 155 games on a college basketball Saturday. These lines are pretty sharp within a half a point or a point of what they should be. I'm ultimately going to go with Arizona. I think they have enough offense to pull away. Probably looking at the game. I mean, if I had to guess how the game plays out, Arizona's up by about five or six in the last couple of minutes. And it comes down to free throws in Purdue. Can they get it back door? But I'll bet on Arizona ultimately pulling away. But you're an underdog better. You don't like playing points, which I don't either. My guess is you're on Purdue, you're right? Yeah, I got a riverside here on this one, Will. I don't like doing that. I don't like going against you. And we kind of trade our best bets before the show starts. And when I saw yours in that contest, I'm like, oh, man. Is he really laying this chalk with Arizona here? Yeah, but I took Purdue in this one tonight getting the
and I went under the total just like I did in this one. So yeah, that's how I'm playing the night's game. So I'm not rooting against you because I know it's a big contest. But yeah, my steak tonight depends on that Purdue game. So I pretty much need that. What is the best meal you've had in Vegas so far? You've been there for a few days. We can talk about this on the other end too. This is important. Yeah, this is the best food. What's the best meal you've had? I had an Italian meal and I'll talk about that a little later.
