Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about $6 diesel and what it means for you. Guess is more than a dollar a gallon higher than it was a year ago. But diesel is even worse. The national average for a gallon of diesel was $6.5 on Friday. That's a record. A year ago, it was $3.71. More than $2.00 a gallon. But Bell, I don't own a diesel. Yeah, but pretty much everything in this country moves by 18 Wheeler. If it moves by truck, it's almost certainly moved by diesel. This is going to hurt. Trump's talking about after the midterms price is going down. There's no way. His trade war is still a radically affecting prices. And it costs way more to ship anything.

Let me say this clearly. Trump's policies are not lowering prices. They were never going to lower prices. Yes, the scores of economists with multiple PhDs who told the country in 2024 his economic policies would cause, well, this. We're right. And the guy with multiple bankruptcies who self identifies as a king of debt was wrong. With the inflation numbers we recently covered and $6 a gallon diesel, prices are going up. Somebody has to pay for Trump trying to recycle failed economic theories from 100 years ago. And those somebodys are us, the American people. The only way prices go down with Trump's policies is if we get a demand crash that triggers a deflationary spiral. In non-economic terms, his policies theoretically could bring prices down because they're so bad they could literally crash the economy.

That's not a joke. That's not partisan hyperbole. That's the reality. Terrorists are inflationary. His unnecessary elective war with Iran is driving up transportation and food production costs, which adds inflationary pressure. And his trade war creates uncertainty, which reduces spending and stalls the economy. His $5,000 check is a joke being played on the American people. He actually said he thinks he doesn't need Congress. On the second channel, we just ran a civics quiz on the executive branch. Trump doesn't even understand the mechanism required to dump a trillion dollars into the economy. Or what would happen if he did? Even Republicans are calling his plan inflationary. And that's just those nice enough to pretend like it's real. If it was real, why wait? Why not do it now?

Because they have no intention of sending you your doge check. I'm sorry, your tariff refund. I mean, your economic stimulus. In one of Trump's many insults to the troops, he once said he prefers people who weren't captured. Well, I prefer presidents who don't damage an economy so badly that economic stimulus is needed. His promise of a check is an admission that the economy isn't doing well for anybody, except the ultra wealthy. A golden age doesn't require the largest cash stimulus in American history. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
