A judge in Alaska Superior Court has scheduled a new trial for former state representative Gabrielle The Do on election misconduct charges from 20, 20. The Anchorage Republican faces the case in June, based on an order signed February 24th by two judges. The proceedings have dragged on for years, starting with delays from the COVID-19 pandemic and then various legal hurdles. Last year, a trial ended in a mistrial after jurors deadlocked on all 12 counts. Prosecutors alleged Ladou push residents from outside her district to vote there anyway. Two former associates cut plea deals and testified against her during the first trial. A preliminary hearing is set for May 5th as the case pushes ahead.
