Lahinch Basking In Heatwave Activity

Clare FM

About this episode

Lahinch businesses are hailing the prolonged heatwave.    It comes as a yellow high temperature warning has come into force for Clare until 7am tomorrow, while another yellow alert kicks in from noon on Wednesday, until 6am on Friday.   Met Éireann is forecasting temperatures in excess of 27 degrees combined with overnight minimum temperatures of more than 15 degrees.    Potential impacts include uncomfortable sleeping conditions, heat stress, water safety issues due to increased use of lakes, beaches and waterways, forest fires and drought.    Visitors have been flocking to the seaside amid the prolonged high temperatures.    Clare FM's Daragh Dolan visited Lahinch yesterday to see how traders were fairing and began by speaking to Liam St George of the Lahinch Coast Hotel.
