King Charles has been in Washington tonight, a city unsettled after the alleged assassination attempt on Donald Trump. Foreign editor Hugh Whitfeld is here, Hugh the King is pressing ahead with the visit. What is he walking into? And Mark, officially this is about celebrating America's 250 years of independence from Britain. It'll likely be measured on whether the King can restore the UK's fractured relationship with the U.S. and changed Donald Trump's apparent dislike for Kia Sturmer. But it's also happening during another turbulent week in Washington. We're learning more tonight about the weekend's security breach. One floor above the ballroom where the president, vice president and senior cabinet members were attending. The White House correspondents dinner. It appears that there were five shots that the law enforcement fired among the three charges attempting to assassinate the president. The left wing cult of hatred against the president and all of those who support him and work for him has gotten multiple people hurt and killed and it almost did so again this weekend. The president also taking aim at TV host Jimmy Kimmel for this comment last week. Look at more. So beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow. Melania Trump called Kimmel a coward, writing enough is enough. From the president, Jimmy Kimmel should be immediately fired. Who in their right minds says a wife would be glowing over the potential murder of her beloved husband from Jimmy Kimmel tonight. It was a very light roast joke about the fact that he's almost 80 and she's younger than

I am all adding to the restless mood their majesty's have stepped into. I mean, heightened security, the King and Queen will return to the White House tomorrow for a formal state dinner, a chance to reset what has become another volatile week in America's capital. In Washington, D.C., Miley Hogan, 7 News.
