7News Just In — Dangerfield's five-goal haul powers Geelong past Carlton. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
Well, Jolong has ended Carlton's fairytale season as cat skipper Patty Dangerfield wound back the clock in last night's elimination final at the MCG. Let's go live to Chrissy Mayer in Melbourne this morning. Good morning to you, Chrissy. Now, Danger, well, he proved he's still got it. He certainly does. Well, Jolong went into this match, the favourites and they didn't disappoint. During their way back after Carlton took the lead in that second term, their Patrick Dangerfield proving unstoppable, kicking a whopping five goals, helping the cats to bring it home by 33 points in front of 96,000 fans here at the MCG. That is the second biggest crowd we have seen for an elimination final. Even the NFL 49ers we hear fresh from the US, let's see now from the man himself. No, that was just nice. It's a pleasure to play in these games. You don't know how many, but it's left, so enjoy the heck out of every one of them.
The Blues finals dream now, of course, officially over, but plenty for the team to be proud about in making it this far this season. Jolong will now head west to Perth to take on Frio in a semi-final blockbuster on Friday. But of course, plenty of action before then. This week can two epic showdowns. Sydney will take on Brisbane in Sydney and of course the Swans are missing some star players there, so they'll have a fight on their hands and Adelaide will host the dogs. Of course, we'll have all the action for you right here on 7. Looking forward to it, Chris DiMayra at the MCG. Thank you.
