It's Jeff Mosher and Adam Kaepern. And it's a really exciting time for us because even though we don't like, nobody likes injuries, but the Eagles released their first injury report of the new 2026 season on Wednesday. And it was a very short list, so that is good news. Adam, but it's also for one guy in particular, it's not necessarily the most tell tale news. And that's obviously Jonathan Gennard being limited at practice, which I don't think that should surprise anybody. We talked about. We expected. Yeah, when you missed that much time, you've got to ramp up.

There was no way he was going to be having a full practice. Like this is not going to happen. He hadn't practiced. His last practice with the Vikings, I believe, was just summer 19th. Now, it's presumed last week when the meeting wasn't there, he started working. But he needs a ramp up here. It's much a big fan. He hates the ramp up period. But he's going to need a little bit of time here. Whenever you play, if it's as soon as this week, which would be surprising, but if he does, you expect him not to play 60 snaps. They kind of ease him in a little bit. The great thing is he goes like, a ton of depth. It is great to have depth at edge, man. It's like having depth and pitching. Baseball, hard to find, man. It's hard to find. When you have it, it's great. Yeah, only two players on their injury port. Now, the commandos will talk about them in a couple of minutes. They've got a bunch on both sides of the foot, but a couple actually a couple important ones. But the big thing is, is that Bernard is working, coming back from his pectoral strain. And then we knew about Stauer's hamster injury.

He had a sleeve on his right leg. I noticed a training camp when there. And I was like, all right, we'll have to keep an eye on this. But there's a reason why I probably have four-todd ends of the roster. And J. Jenkins is one of them. Absolutely, absolutely. Like you said, this is a validation of a process, right, of always being deep at the edge as much as they possibly can. They are built to withstand. I mean, obviously you want him. And they were last year, they were a team that, until they got J. Owen Phillips, they weren't as consistent in the edge rush as they wanted to be. And then J. Owen Phillips came along, and they got more consistent. Now Phillips is gone. Bernard's supposed to be that guy. We'll see. He's still got to get through two practices. If by somehow, he's able to practice by Friday in full, that would be an amazing to me. Thing for him and the team, I won't rule it out, but we'll just have to see as it goes along. But again, like you said, they should be able to withstand it. The other thing I wanted to bring up

was the, you know, the Landon Dickers are not being on the list. We'll get to the next name on the list. Not of them, yeah. Not of them are on it. So I thought that was really interesting, because in the final practice that was open to the meat, the last practice of training camp before the final preseason game, I think I spoke about this with you in a pod around that time. They were rotating him and Drew Kendall. And nobody else. They were just bringing him out of the first team to put Drew Kendall on. And, you know, it was just something I filed away in my notebook to see if that would mean anything for a week one, if that was just body preservation or if something was bothering him. But here he is, not on the list, full participant. So that's really good news for him and the offensive line. Yeah, look, the great thing is, there are teams intact here. Really, they only have two players on the interreport, one from each other. But one who's supporting Grinard, no question about it. Whenever he's ready, it's just they have to make sure that he, they kind of get an idea of what he can handle.

And obviously, the communication is super important between the medical staff, training staff, and the player and Fangel, he's got to know when he's ready, how many snaps he can handle. And though I recommend to him, this is what we think you should deal with him. You know, Vic only likes using three, well, guess what? He might have to use four and Grinard's ready. Well, that's a great point, right? Because they kept AJ Epinessa on the team. Yeah, that's right. So you could say, hey, look, even without Grinard, they had their three-man rotation of Jalik's Haunt Noel and Smith and Arnold Ebbakiti, but they kept AJ Epinessa. And it's not like Epinessa is going to give you like 65% to 70% special teams. So that was for the rotation. So at this point, I'm ready to say, I think Vic is definitely going to expand that rotation for Earl's, why is AJ Epinessa on the team? Do you want him to collect dust, or can you actually use him? Maybe not a whole lot, but just to get him on the field to keep your rotation fresh. Or else, why else would he occupy a spot on the 53?

Yeah, because you don't, if everybody's healthy, you would have five. And that makes no sense. In fact, that's where you would have him on the practice run. You'd ask him to do that, because you would tell him, look, Vic doesn't, how he could just say, look, Vic doesn't play five. He doesn't even play four. We have four active because if God forbid, somebody gets hurt, we need somebody to come in to be the first guy of the bench. But Epinessa, he has a variety of things he can do because he's a long and he's a good run stopper. But he had a good training camp. Like he, he's, you know, the Browns, it is amazing how the Browns didn't, there was something they didn't like on his physical, while the Eagles had no problem with it. He's been healthy. It's very out of the entry point. Yeah, yeah, really strange. Yeah, you know, it's not like it was like one year and five million there they had with it when Cleveland. So he's making far less than that here, buddies. Gonna be deep back up. We'll see what happens through Friday's practice. Remember Friday's a light practice. We're regular practice week. A Thursday's a long one. And then Friday is a short one

about just around an hour and it's light. And then you've got to walk through Saturday and Sunday, Sunday at 425. Now I hate to bring this up because people know I'm crazy with the weather. Oh, yeah, we already got a comment about Hurricane Kaplan. I had to do it, but, but look, by the way, just to correct everybody, just to make sure it is tropical storm Kaplan. Oh, yeah. We don't want to borrow from another famous or formerly famous meteorologist in the Philadelphia area. Hurricane Short, yeah. That's right. That's right. Great Sunday. Okay, let me see if we got an hour by hour yet. We do. Rain all morning. It under that zip code of one nine one for eight, which is where the stadium is. I love it. Hour by hour. This we have it this far out. I'll Mr. hour by hour. It's how I kind of run everything. Yeah. Should be okay by kickoff. What's it's 425? Yeah, 425. I know that there were some talk about some mid-afternoon thunderstorms potentially. No, it's there. Yeah, but late late afternoon, early evening,

it looks like it's going to dissipate. No, I'm of course it could change, but we're just telling you early. So if you're tailgating, be ready. And just be ready for that. And there's nothing worse than having to be a rain and tailgating. I've done it. It's terrible. No, it's awful. And if it's kind of hot and swampy, we advise everybody to bring their pickle juice. Games might have been famously won or lost because of pickle juice. So it's always a good, I hate pickles. So I'll never drink pickle juice. I don't even know. No matter what, you could tie me down and you'd have to you'd have to tie me down to open it up. Yep. Make me drink pickle juice. All right, Stowers with the hamstring, he was a limited participant. I, you know, look, we've addressed this quite a bit. He's behind. He wasn't even running with the first team, barely on the second team. I mean, the idea that he could be an active for this game, even if healthy to me was there. So right now, dealing with the hamstring injury and being limited, you know, you're just getting closer to the reality that he's probably not going to be able to play or be active.

I'd be surprised if he's active. I really would because I don't see a role for him. Jenkins is a way better blocker. We know, we know Goddard's to weigh tight end and we know Johnny months here as a why he's only here to block. Right. If he gets, there should be an over under on pass target for Johnny month this season. Ten or less. I'm taking under. Under ten. We're putting it. Yes. Ten. Oh, man. Oh, gosh. So yeah, they're basically playing four four out instead of five whenever you have him on the field. That's the case. My God. I'd have to. I wonder if he could even run. I don't remember because I know he's all he's done is block his entire career. It's like, um, what's the tight end? The why he's had in for, uh, he's been only a long time. I've shown Peyton found him. He's now with Caroline. I mean, what's what's with the giant? So um, Chris, he went to Kinesha manhurtz. Yeah. Chris manhurtz, which is so comical. Kinesha's. I don't even know they had a football team because I just grew up knowing them as a basketball team. Sure. The Mac. Yep.

Right. Right. M-A-A-C. Right. Right. So that's it. Yeah. I mean, that's that's it. Now, Washington's got some concerns. They do. They do. Um, and again, because it's, you know, it's the Wednesday report. You try not to put too much into it because how many times do we see, you know, we've been scared by what we see the pop up injuries and then by fine. I didn't. Yes. The Eagles didn't have any. That that is funny because that was what my list. No pop up injuries. This is an exclamation point. Right. They didn't have any. But Washington, here you go. So offensively, uh, jacory, Krosky, Marit, or Bill, as he's known, he's there starting running back. We'll talk more about this when a pregame show with Greg Kosell. But Krosky, Marit is their primary first and second down back. You're not going to see him much in third on third down. That's why we shot whites there or a goal line. But, uh, we'll see what he does in next couple days on the big one. This is big. Nick Gallagready, who's moving from guard to center. He's going to be their center of the season. We'll see how he does. He missed all of training camp at the preseason with with a calf strain. Jim Dan Quimcreddit.

I mean, he said he's going to be ready this week. Very confident. Yeah. It's a gollareff one today. I understand it. So faring a step back, he'll be in the lineup. But guess what? He's not a great athlete. He's, oh, he's an okay starting guard. Nothing special. Good luck against this line when you come back from a calf injury. That that is rough. Fall is the season where everyone gets busier. More calls, more customers, more chances for something to slip through the cracks. And staying ahead means having the right system. And then obviously, they're pass rushers. The two guys that they signed in for agency that they're expecting to help turn around their defense, which is, I always pronounce the last name.

It's Kalavan Jaison, right? Did I pronounce that correctly? Kalavan Jaison. Yeah. Jaison and Adafee O'Awe were limited on Wednesday. So we'll have to make sure, see what goes on with them. It was a calf for O'Awe. It was a knee for Jaison. So we'll see what follows there. All of it, the key for both of these guys. Because they're both starters. Mm-hmm. Depending on what formation that their new DC opens up with, Toronto Jones. Because they have fun. They went from having a terrible pass rush group last year due to injury. They were breaking anyone they could find off the street. Literally anyone. BG could have gone there and probably had 5 stacks. Hey, don't try. He could go anywhere and have 5 stacks. You and I could have gone there and maybe had 5 stacks. They had nobody. I mean, they was bad, but they've got a lot of them. Right. Jaison with the knee and Daffy O'Awe with the calf. Friday's a big thing. They're going to have a tremendous rotation.

Leoschenol is such a good player inside our outside. You can play him at adjure or inside backer. I'll tell you it was a good player, but he's not going to start his journey. McGee at a temple. Like, if not for sunny styles, he would be starting. Sure. Oh, yeah, he'll be ready. He's got a chest injury. Mario to have the knee injury. He was out of bit. He's going to be ready to be their number two. A quarterback and then Charles of Mennahoe. The well-traveled Charles of Mennahoe, formerly the Niners and the Chief. He's going to be one of their top backup edges. He'll be ready to go with the wrist injury. So the big one to watch is Nick Allegretti and then see how the edges deal. Conti. That's right. And the commanders need better injury information because it's been rough for them. Leoschen Tundzul and some of them, obviously not having treamus, right? They're starting for a while. Yeah. A most is their best corner. We're so dug. It's probably going to start. We'll talk more about this when we do the matchups in the pregame show. And then left tackle. There's a reason why they traded for Laramie Tundzul because Brandon Coleman they knew is too short.

It's six four. He's built more of a, he's really not, you would call powerful. It's more athletic than powerful. So they've tried him at guard and they've tried to right tackle and left tackle. And that's why they brought DG Humphries out of Malkball, so to speak, who's near the end of his career is well-passed as prime. Oh, yeah. Hey, Philly fans. Game day is stressful enough. Camden Apothecarry, top quality cannabis, great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans 21 and up. I'll tell you what, man, if they, if Washington's offensive line shockingly holds up, I don't see any way in how it happens. This game will be really close. If not, you blow out city. Although the Eagles, we have to see it's the first week and they don't, they haven't seen this defense yet. Right. But I could see it being 20 to three or the 17 to three. I just don't see how Washington's going to score. So our mutual friend and radio partner, Mike Gill informed me that you said something to the effect that I'm usually the guy who's Mr. Over and you're usually Mr. Under, which is correct. Which is correct. But I have a feeling you and I were thinking along the same wavelength because I, I think the total for this game is around 44. And I'm like, I think this is kind of kind of be one of those weird slug fest.

I think the, you know, we'll talk about it on Friday. It'll be you, myself, Greg Cosell. Well, it'll come out, it'll be out Saturday morning, right? Yep. The inside the birds pregame show, which will be back for another year. Probably the, no, not probably definitely the best and most analytical game preview breakdown that you're going to get in this area because it is just incredible stuff. I mean, between what we can bring just from our knowledge of the team and what Greg does from the tape breakdown and the schemes is, it's just fun. We talk ball. If you're new to our show, you're not going to hear some just real true junky ball talk the way we do and we do these. There's no bullshit. Yeah. It's all inside stuff. Three of us have a lot of fun and then we beg Greg, no, actually, we tell him or we fire him. He better get this game square. We have a long joke. We have a running joke. What's he say? He spends, it's like, South Pals says on Greg's show. This is his one minute of tape study each week. Yeah. Yeah. On the metric show. Greg goes, my 10 seconds is a thing about what the score

might be. Here's what I have. Did I win it last year? I thought I, I thought I had a pretty good, more often than I had a good one. I forgot. I really forgot. So yeah, but like to the point I would be making is like, you'll, you'll watch some awful shit. Like I don't think we have dedicated a nanosecond to the GQ story on Jalen Hertz. Not that it's not interesting, but it's just not what we do. It's interesting. Yeah, it was interesting, but it's not really what we do. It's not relevant to our art show. That's for the radio to talk about. Right. But I did like the, I thought the guy, the guy who wrote it, he might be from here. I forget what the guy said. Yeah, he's from Philly. Yeah. Yeah. I happen to hear it on the fanatic for like 20 minutes. Like this is really interesting. I got it. And I know our patron people told me last week, oh, you got to see this is great stuff. And Jalen went and admitted to some stuff. Like he admitted to the back connective stuff, which we've talked about for a couple years. But anyway, moving on, this is week one. So opening week, strange things happen. I'm looking forward to this game. I was hoping it would be a better game, but you never know. Maybe it turns out to be a great game.

I just Washington, they would have had tonsil. They would have had tonsil and did a little bit, as aggressive as they were in free. You'd see they were super aggressive, trying to help the quarterback. Mm-hmm. And they needed to rehab their defense, because they needed a talent, basically. They need some help at receiver and stuff on digs to me is not it. I mean, he's, he's the best of three. He might be starting. We'll see what we'll talk about that. Yeah, yeah. He's going to have to, right? They don't really have anybody better. He's got to be their number two. I mean, he was the number two last year for a super bowl team. But he was a year later. Very little as I'm told by a NFL coach who did tape work on him for once he got released. Ziddi don't run all that well anymore, but he goes, you know what, he's a perfect possession receiver for a young quarterback and voila. And I happen to be at his first practice. What'd you think? He looked really good at short air. Are you speaking of that? It's ironic. That's very far from this. And I see it. Yeah. It looked pretty good, but I mean, it's unreal that it's been nine years.

And such a championship game. And he was on that team, Vikings. Him and Thiel. Yeah, I forgot about that. That's crazy. Well, got in the Super Bowl last year. Amazing. All right. Yeah, I'm just always loath to like, write this game off, even though the Eagles are, I believe, five and a half point favorites. And it feels like it should be like a pretty decent win for them. But you know how I always say this game between these two teams? It's very weird sometimes. So, you know, we'll get the real soup to nuts break down on the inside of the birds free game show myself, Adam, and of course, Greg Kosell. Also, Saturday will have a really awesome. And I want to thank everybody for all the great feedback they gave us on the last inside the day to last two, with Sam Finkle. He's been really unearthing some really good analytical gems to do podcasts on. He did a great one that's going to be up. We'll probably have it up Saturday. Maybe a more. OK, one more for you. Just booked, literally with, I didn't tell you this yet. Oh, yeah. That's right. Vince Papali, Mr. Invincible, a good friend of ours.

Nice. Actually, we had him. We had him in the early, in the Seattle company. We actually had a, we brought him in for a speak at what, one of the chickies in North East Philly. Maybe was it that one? Uh, it was the chickies in North East Philly. That was the one, yeah. Many years ago, but 20th anniversary of the movie, at which, uh, Charles made aware of. And, uh, we're going to have a mom. We're going to do it interview with him, probably going to tape it Friday. So we'll, we'll run it next week. And his story, folks, is just, it's remarkable coming out of the stands. Though he did play in the world football league, but then he was then folded and he was in the stands watching his favorite team grown up, then he played for them. Hard to believe, but true. Well, yeah, just, uh, just a little small sample of all the great things we have coming up on inside the birds in the coming days and weeks. That's going to do it. And of course, you know, we will definitely have the final injury report covered, uh, in our inside the birds pregame show and what those injuries mean for the matchup. That will do it for this edition of Inside the Birds, the leading podcast and Eagles Intel.
