It Takes Time: Kevin Hart’s Powerful Success Mindset

The son is going to shine in the morning and the night time the moon will be there.

1:02And you're going to look up these days going to keep going by. So do you let the days go by and look up and you don't waste a year doing what? Hard work brings great rewards. This is a reminder of the hard work and dedication that I put into everything that I've done. I'm not content because I know where I came from and I don't ever want to go back. It was a mental thing. So I had to tap out of that and tap into the real me and put the character to the side. I'm a late groomer and understanding what hard work brings. It's something that my mom beat down my throat. And because of the way she did it, I didn't want to comprehend it. That's what this is right now. Look, man, wake up. Wake y'all asses up. And I don't even wake up. But wake up with the mindset of being better than you were last week. What's hard is going, you know, yesterday I got nothing from working as hard as I could.

2:03Nothing happened from that. I'm going to do the same thing again today, but I'm going to try to get harder. That's the hardest thing in the world. To get up every day and give 100% and be in the same position that you were each day, but mentally know that you're trying and trying and trying. It's so much that some people just don't understand they can do. How good was your book? What was the ending to your book? If the ending to my book can be so amazing because of all that was done. Not the money. All that was accomplished. Let me be a spark to show how much, how many different, you don't have to do just one thing. When it's all said and done, my book is going to be full of all the, the Kevin Hart did. Because I never was content with doing just one, two or three. All right, you got one life and then one life. The goal for us is to live it to the best of our ability from the beginning to what said the end.

3:09Why not? I'm not here to change what you're doing or tell you that you're doing it wrong. I'm just simply giving information. You can use it or not. Keep your circle tight. Make sure that's a bubble that can't be popped. Look at the blueprint. Look at what other people have done. Look what work versus what hasn't worked. Educate yourself to it. You choose to dope. If you don't, even more dope. Your life is going to be your life no matter what. If all of our lives are going to be the same, this world would be stupid. You got to make the dumb mistakes. You can't avoid the dumb mistakes. You can't avoid the life lesson. The whole life lesson, you can't run from that. I welcome it. Smack me. Let me hit my dumb ass so I know not to do it again. You need to know that the shit is stupid. You can, you know right from wrong. You got to think, success comes what? Everything's given to you. Everything's granted. What do you need? No, don't get up. That house right there, is that what you're trying to do? We'll get it.

4:11We'll build it and we'll put it underneath your house and you don't have to ever look at it. How do you maneuver? What am I supposed to do in my car? Am I supposed to park my own car? How am I supposed to do that? Clothes, I can't go to the mall. What they've been bringing my clothes for the last 12 years. Being around people, you become that guy. You start to lose sight and realities at different levels. My uncle's a very low level, but I saw it. But I needed to see it for me to go, ooh Kevin. People are ignorant to that side of addiction. That's an addiction. That's a real life thing. But people don't understand that. There is no sense of false to me now. What you see is what you get. This is 100% me all the time. It's not an act. I have no reason not to be this guy.

5:15My take on life is completely different. If I look at the odds and I look at what it's supposed to be, I'm not supposed to be in this chair. I'm not supposed to have the level of thinking that I have at this point in time in my career with this success. I'm supposed to be comfortable. Statistics shows I'm supposed to be a train wreck right now. You hear people say five minutes of fame and six minutes of fame and it's much more bigger than that. It's false. Hollywood is false. It's not real. It's make believe. That's not real. The day that you believe in and think is real is the day you lose. It's not real. That's why I work as hard as I do. I'm going to get it all right now. Jerry Seinfeld said it best. Jerry Seinfeld said I don't want to do this anymore because I know right now I'm at the top of it. I'm here and I want this to end on such a high note that people always have good things to say about it. He didn't walk away from the business. He was smart enough to say I'm not going to allow Hollywood to pull this from under me and tarnish what I control.

6:24I know where I sit today. I'm able to make decisions from a perspective that I now know I have. That's great for me. I know I'm happy. I know that my priorities are straight. I know what I want out of life in the long run. I know what matters to me most. I have all my ducks in a row. Nothing from the outside is going to affect my way of thinking. I'm doing things to provide entertainment. At some point time do you feel that entertainment isn't right for you? I guess that means that my time doing entertainment is done. There's other things that I can do. My time is spent wisely. I'm not working on a little family. It's old for me. I'm not running the street. I'm not out doing what it's over. I'm happy. I'm good. I've seen it all. I'm good. I don't want no problems from nobody. I sit my ass down. If you're going to do it, do it to try and be the best. Not be better than other people. Be the best for you. When I pick it up and say I'm going to start it, I've got to finish it.
