1:05Welcome everybody to episode of a 580 of the Badden Heroes podcast. I am your host Daniela and I'm alongside me. It was the KBD. How are you doing sir? You're are we at jinx technically if we lose? I mean if we tie. I don't think so. Technically we're not at jinx. We still got a point. And I predicted a draw so it kind of went the way I thought. I didn't think that we would win this game, but I didn't think we would lose. I didn't think that there would be at least one more go from each side. Overall thoughts or atmosphere. I thought it was cool that so many Chicago fans came out and represented Chicago. I think that that's good for the league as a whole because we do the badden soccer fans. We're fans of the league also. It's my first definitely but I love to see how the league is growing in fandom and loyalty. That's one and two. I thought neither team necessarily good I would say. I thought my M.E. played a better second half and the latter part of the first half. I thought my M.E. played better also. I thought after Chicago scored Chicago and took the foot off the brakes.

2:08I mean I think they did whatever the other team would do. They score and then they're going to kind of cradle back and play defense. Look, just sharing your sentiment in terms of like, you know, and I mentioned this in the watch along. I love seeing that there's so many fans out there especially for Chicago fire. Like if they retain 10, 20% of that fan base to watch Chicago, it's a win. And it's we saw essentially I think what could be seen as maybe a tale of two halves. Right. The first half seemed like it was leaning a lot more towards Chicago. And then the second half was a little bit more on inner Miami side. It just doesn't feel comfortable because you're playing against a team who you know you're going to be competing against at a pretty important stage in the playoffs. And we didn't look convincing. Gun to your head. Who is better today? Miami or Chicago?

3:12Chicago. I thought Miami if I had to pick one at that pick by him. Dude, but there's there's this there's like an expectation out of it or Miami to play a certain way to like play at a certain level. And I don't know if that's fair or not to like have this expectation. But I think regardless of what you believe to be fair or not, we have the players that we have. There's an expectation set because of those players and we're not meeting it. So to me, Chicago looked more convincing as a team than it or Miami did. Like what what stood out? Okay. Aside from a couple plays where messy possibly could have made something happen. What are their moments? Can you find your moments for me that I may had an opportunity to if he had. Any ounce of skill finishing.

4:12But again, that Danny, that's one of the things we had. But that I may have more corner kicks, I believe we had more shots. I would say let's see. Let me look at the stats. Danny, like let's realistically put this together here. But I'm going to be honest. You think we had. Six. We had five. That was a good guess. Chicago to. How many shots do you think we had? Like on target or I mean, not just shots shots. Who would be an aggressor with taking shots? Eight. Twenty. How many did Chicago have? No, they probably had. Yeah, they were a little lower. Right. Like after Chicago scored, they weren't as aggressive pressing us. And they like outside of that that goal, like how many. We're like clear opportunities that they have. They had three shots on target the entire game. One of them was the goal. Like I didn't think. Okay. This is where I got to pump the brakes.

5:15Soggy daddy, you're you are the the the royalty of the chat right now. Stats can be an illusion. Danny and I think about bringing a number to his benefit. Right. Well, no, it's because I said both teams didn't look that good. So if they both didn't look good, well, let's let's figure out what the difference is. The difference is that Miami had more opportunities. Okay. And Miami did not lose the eye test because you can't tell me that Chicago won the eye test. Yes, they both didn't look great. Soggy daddy, but if you can't tell Miami lost it, but my Chicago won it. No, they both didn't look great. If you had to pick one that was better, I think it was Miami. I'm looking at the stats here. In my Emmy had more possessions more more percent. Okay. So in my Emmy had 52% of possession in the game. That would automatically relate to oh, well, they had more success. I mean, but that can also be that they just held the ball longer.

6:15Right. I mean, that doesn't mean that they necessarily had more control of the game or were a better team in, you know, in the game. I want to I want to mention something here and hopefully Danny plugs in his headset. So that way I can be able to kind of state this. Danny, the issue here is bet that I may is a DP player. We brought him in for a lot of money, only sacrifice. And he has to fit a bill for so for as much as you want to say, bet that I'm a shit. I'm going to say the same thing. But the fact is is that he's supposed to be at a level where everybody in the beginning of the season expected greatness. Everybody expected him to be one of the golden boot competitors. Nobody. What do you mean nobody? A lot of MLS pundits in the beginning of the season and correct me of a wrong chat.

7:16A lot of people that cover the MLS from a pretty high level in terms of media stated that bet that I'm it was going to be one of the top players in the league. One of the top scores of the league. Again, Sean Calhens mentioning it right before you left. I said, inner Miami had 52% possession. That doesn't mean they did well. Sean Calhens say we had a lot of possession without meaning. That's exactly what it is. I can't see that I can't say the inner Miami looked convincingly better than Chicago. Or because like I said, Chicago, they started the game pressing high and Miami wasn't going to play that game. They started playing the long ball. They were like, we're not going to press us. So once Chicago finally scored, they took the foot off the gas. You got to change your mind. They start pressing. They start pressing. I wonder what happened. Let me see what's going on here.

8:17So they start pressing while I try to fix my mic. And I know, I know. Oh, I got it. And once they stopped pressing, they started defending more. And they kind of just gave us the flanks, like most teams do. And they dare to beat them wide. And we don't like to play wide. We took our time trying to break them down. But they were fine. They were connecting balls. They were playing nice through walls and finding opportunities. Like Bertadame had a few. They found opportunities on how to break down Chicago's compact defense. And yeah, we don't have necessarily a bet that I'm in that could finish. And if we did, we might have scored two more today. I think that that's what we're suffering the most is the fact that we don't have anybody to play out wide. This is a great question. The mastermind says, can someone explain to me why bet that I'm in Suarez played 90 minutes? Because who else would you put in? Pinter? I mean, would you want to see maybe some, look, you brought Alexander Sean.

9:20Why not get some speed on the flanks? You know why I think they might not have done it. And this is just my guess in anybody's speculation. Yeah, just just like when I think maybe last game, remember they were beating Atlanta two to one. And they said, we're going to see this game out. Let's put in some fresh legs. They took our Suarez. They're not landed tied the game and all of a sudden, oh, shit, we don't got Suarez anymore. We're F'd because they didn't have that that finishing option. This game, I think that they maybe were worried it's about taking Luis Suarez off because they were hoping that Luis Suarez could somehow help them get that two, that second goal. And they don't take bet that I may off because well, bet that I may has the legs. He had a nice defensive play late in the game when he had he blocked the shot right on top of the box. Do you want to go through the goals and then we just kind of cover the game or about the starting lineup? Okay. All right. Let's go through the starting lineup. Let me bring up the starting lineup. So I'll paint the picture for you guys.

10:21You got Daines St. Clair back there. The back four, you start again with Kaisaloid left back, Falcone and Casamiro starting as your paired center backs. You're in free at the right back position. Midfield is Segovia, Yanik Bright and RDP. And then on top, you got Suarez and then you got Messi on the right and bet that I'm on the left or however you guys want to picture it. But that's your top three. And that's your starting lineup. You say I said opportunities but couldn't finish out. So real quick, I told you guys the chat is cooking. The chat is cooking. But I told you guys when we started and maybe not everybody was on here because I see that we've got more people now than when we started. I said, I don't think either team played well. But I said, go. Did you freeze?

11:26Did Dany just freeze? So he did freeze. I mean, look at that. I mean, the moment he was going to say, gun to your head, the MLS just came through and just blasted him away. I don't know if I want to lean in on that because I don't want to say that the team sucks. I just feel like unfortunately, because of the simple fact that we have an expectation on this team, that is why. And that's why I was trying to explain to Danny is that that's why I can't sit here and comfortably say that we as a team in a Miami did better than Chicago. I can't comfortably state that. That's just something that unfortunately, and it sucks because like you want to be able to kind of have this sort of positive outlook on the team.

13:29But at the same time, it's not looking great. Like I'm looking at this team, right? And essentially, you have Kaisato, who is unproven, never played that position before, is playing as you're starting left back because the team decided to go and do stupid moves. Right? Omar is mentioning guys can't even pass Chris. Now I'm looking at the stats and the stats state that inner Miami had a pass accuracy of 89%, which was better than Chicago's. Now they passed significantly less than us. We had according to what I see here, 516 passes to Chicago's 403 passes. So it seems like even though we passed a lot more, Chicago was a little bit more efficient with their movements. The team is saying that we're cooked well done this season.

14:30And look, and I do, I'm not saying that Kaisato played poorly. What I'm just trying to do is paint the picture here. So that way you guys understand. And just to make sure, look guys, if you can help me here, the luminous ag and barely here Chris, can you guys hear me? Okay, so there's other people that I hear me just fine. So that's good. So again, I want to go back to what was just being mentioned. I'm not going to sit here and say, I said, I played awful because he didn't. He didn't play bad. But I just, I'm trying to paint the picture here of like what's happening? What's like what's the vibe right now? And the vibe is Kaisato, who's never played the left back position as far as I know. Like we said they played for Ecuador at some point. But he's an unproven commodity playing at a position where he's not primarily fit in. And then on top of that, you have, think about the center backs guys.

15:32Like, let's take a look at this. You have Falcon who everybody wants. Okay, out is our starting center back. This is a starter. And then you have Casamiro, who is not a center back playing there because guess what? Our midfielders are stacked. And instead of putting a person that that's for that preferred position, you have such shitty center backs that you'd say to yourself, I'd rather play a center defensive midfielder at the center back position because all of my other center backs are so fucking bad. Am I wrong by having that judgment there guys? Because you're starting a sucky center back just for the simple fact that you can say, well,

16:37at least one of them, their job is a center back. The other one we're just putting him there because he's one of the better players on the team and I'd rather have talent over putting a guy at the preferred position. Ian Frey is playing right back because Fakuna Mura is just so freaking garbage. Basura Mura. Okay. And then this Chandler, the fact that they sub-Caisero for Mura was crazy. Is it though? Is it because what do you have behind Caisero? You have Abadi Arreira who is unproven. So I'm going to see if I can walk through this back as quickly as I can. Now that you're back, Danny. So just to kind of paint the picture here. And are you good?

17:38I hope so. I don't know how to reach out my wife. So Caisero is playing left back a position he's never played before, unproven. Apparently he played in Ecuador a little bit. Apparently he did. I did mention that. And then at the center back position, you have Fakuna who is shit, but he's the better of the shit that you have. And then you have Casamiro who, because the midfield is so stacked, you say, I'm going to play my talented players as much as I could because all of my other center backs are so shit. So you don't want to play a player at the center back position just for the sake of playing them at the position because they're so bad that you put a center defensive midfielder at the center back position. That's bad. And then somebody had mentioned here, they put in Muraf or Caisero and it's really, it's not surprised because Abadi Arreira, who's the backup now, is also an unproven

18:40player. He's the backup to the backup. But he's the backup to the backup just because Muda has more experience on a soccer field. Because we're talking about what I was going to be talking about crack cocaine in the chat. I don't know. I wasn't talking about anything that had to do with crack cocaine. Oh, okay. You don't even, like you don't even factor in that extra push and contribution he's making is obviously not the same effort that you're giving as a center back. Hmm. So now, not only is he being put in a role that's completely different, but in a role

20:45where the exertion that's needed is so much higher than what's required as a center back. And you know what sucks, the national loss of Toronto tonight. And we fucking blew it. Hmm. That was Miami's chance. They needed to win tonight and have national lose, national loss. You needed to win. And then you needed to be in national on Saturday. And all of a sudden, that's like a six point swing. And all of a sudden, you're back in this border to race. So do you want to go, you're going to go over the goals real quick and then we can kind of wrap, like talk everything out. Hmm. Because there's only two goals here, guys. And for those of you who are expecting this to be a goalfest, me included, it wasn't. It's a one one tie just like how Danny likes it. So in the first 10 minutes, Lewandowski at the 10th minute strikes a beautiful pass from

21:48the left side of the pitch. Perfect. He put three on skates and that one too. He left, he left free behind them, got him some space and then just slaying that thing. Came back and then pushed right back up and then centered it and. And five, one, two, three. He missed it and then Lewandowski with the perfect one time at home. I thought somebody saying that St. Claire is poop. Do you think that was on St. Claire? Like you think St. Claire should have blocked that. That was a tough shot to block. I mean, it would have been nice if you would have done it, but that's a tough one. I mean, I have to look back at it, but could he have come out? I mean, I'm asking the question. I'm not saying he could have. I'm saying in the angle that he was coming in. I think it would have been hard to kind of attack that ball. I don't know if he expected it to even get to Lewandowski, but I think that would have been very difficult for him to block.

22:49And he only allowed one and it was that one. So I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I think Lewandowski was crap today because I thought he had as good as the game as you can. Omar saying it was phrase fault. I mean, okay. I mean, maybe because he got maybe because he got, you know, goodman passed him, but. And look, this is good. Brian know what saying St. Claire is getting better. Yeah. I don't know if it was the, the, the blonde locks or what, but once he shaved his head, I think he's been playing better lock in season. Yeah. The maple wall. So the first half, for those of you that weren't watching the watch along, the first half to me, I felt like Chicago had a lot more control in the first half. Maybe in the last six, 10, 15 minutes was Miami. I don't think it was heavily Miami. I think that Miami had their moments, but I don't think that it was heavily Miami.

23:52I think that you're going into the game. Second, and I'm towards the end of that. I think that you're giving, I think that you're kind of giving Miami a little bit of a, a bias push there. Okay. So in the first half, let's see. How many shots do you think Chicago had in the first half? Yeah. How many shots do you have in the first half? Five. Three. How many do Miami have? Twelve. Nine. So what you're telling me is because looking at the stats, if you're telling me Chicago had five shots, so in this, or how many shots, three shots, that means in the second half, it looks to be clearly Miami in control. In reality, Chicago had more shots in the second half than they did in the first half, because that five shots in the second half or seven.

24:54Seven and a big one. Miami had a lot of that. So then, how is it that Miami, that Chicago looked better in the first half, had less shots on target or shots period? Did they look better in the first half of the first half, if that makes sense? I saw Miami played better in the second half of the first half. Again, that's the how it's a little wordy. The numbers lie a little bit. No, I don't think so. The numbers lie a little bit. And also, Chicago had that, was it like a five or ten minute run there, late in the second half, but also they looked dangerous. I think they had to get a blocker too. He had to jump out like they, that's where they got the bulk of those shots in that second half is because there was like a five or ten minute mark there where it was like, oh, shit, like, what was it? So whoever, I forgot the kid's name that came in for San Lese, but he had a few opportunities also where he was out on the counter by himself and he somehow didn't convert. So. Well, the guy that came in, the guy that came in for, for San Lese was Sergio Oréhel, a

26:02midfielder. Barney saying, based on I test my most still better, but I still don't, I'm still not happy with my misreformance. That's fair. So half time came and you said you still felt pretty good, right? Yeah. Because I didn't. I didn't. I don't like the way that we looked in the first half. This is competing against a like for like as close as you can be in the east. Yeah. Now, San Miami saying no more ties. Yeah, I'm getting real tired of that bullshit. I'm getting real tired of that. 27:05In the 48th minute, he wasn't that good of a goalkeeper because on a set piece off of a corner, Messi ends up lobbing it up to Casamiro who's been just dunking on everybody. What's your brother? 28:06I thought Miami had more opportunities. Miami, that's all looks better side. I thought there were moments where Messi kind of put him on his back and kind of created his own opportunities. So govia found them with a couple of through balls that I thought might be dangerous. And all in all, I mean, you know what? Towards the end of the second half, Messi, F.O. disappeared. I felt like they had a hard time getting him the ball. Pepto saying our best offensive plays, Messi corners to Casamero. But you know what? That's a good thing to have. It is. It is. There's some teams that just defend and score on set pieces. And that's their strategy and that's how they make it far in the league. And I'm not saying that that's what we're going to do. But I do think that it's great to have that as a weapon that's your dangerous on set pieces. And I want to mention something here because Miami King is saying Swares is not a problem when it's a regular season for a more less cup. He will be especially when he's going to be playing. He is not great when Swares is on the pitch.

29:08Let me tell you, Swares, he's been playing really nicely lately. Really nicely. I don't want to say at the level of before the World Cup, but he's been playing really nicely lately. Now if you're expecting more goals, you're not getting them. I thought that's my who would eventually score though. Then we had a little scuffle where Ian Freight pushes Lewandowski a little bit. So Lewandowski pushes him back, breaks Flops, gets up, pushes Lewandowski again. Lewandowski Flops inside the box. I'm not sure what Freight's thinking in that one, which he don't. And that's going to be fun to see if we get a Chicago and inner Miami sort of semi-final

30:11matchup. If Mikhail comes back, if we get a winger, whether it be Dicayelme or Arich, we got to all the guys name. Clown boy Matias. Yeah, boy is the last name Galarza. What is it? Is that what it is? It cares. If we get Mikhail and then we get Dicayelme or Galarza to run down that left side instead of Bertirame, do you feel like this team has enough to another championship? He is now a center back that might move up a tad bit. And then if he's healthy, he would start. But if not Kaisato, we got Frey on the right back. We have Mikhail, Kaisemiro in the center backs. We have our midfield of the Paul, Segovia and Bright. We have Messi of Taf, Suarez of Striker. And then you have Isarike El-Galarsa on your left wing. Is that enough to win a championship? You know if you were to give me so betty without a shoulder injury? Of course. I mean, I'm just saying. No, I'm with you now. Because I know it's not going to be back. Because I know, because we know him, right?

32:14Like we don't know what Rekelme is. We don't know what Matias Galarsa is. We don't know what they're going to be. Like you tell me it's so betty, I might be like, okay, maybe. But with these other two guys, I mean, they're clowns. I mean, maybe I'm extreme saying that they're clowns. Maybe they could be good. Oh, maybe. You're always extreme at that point. I guess they may, yeah, maybe they may be good. Maybe, and maybe they could be shit and their clowns. And we never play them. Like Matias Galarsa, we have to play, we have to pay him. If we, if we have to sign him, if we play him for 66% of the games, you know that? Like, I think it's an obligation to buy no matter how much you play. So I don't even worry about that. No, because if he doesn't play up to 66%, then I believe that we don't, that the by clause doesn't get like turned on or something like that. So like if they see that he's garbage in the first three games, then we're not going

I think that he's better than people give him credit for. I think the way he links up and some of the balls that he found messy was, come on. There's some class of some class in that game. So I'm going to say sigobia. All right. Um, Gepena. I mean, is this, are we, are we trending? In the right direction here? Yeah. I think I end in my, I might have a new competitor. Yeah. Betedame.
