貓頭鷹的瞳孔很大，視杆細胞非常豐富，因為沒有視錐細胞，所以，眼內成圓柱狀，對於弱光有良好的敏感性，因此夜晚活動對牠們來說，可說是如魚得水呢！另外，由於特殊的構造關係，貓頭鷹的頸部可以轉270度，在這種情況下，任何的大小事都逃不過牠的眼睛。
