So everything we experience is a direct result of the personal identity that we're attached to right now. But unfortunately for most people, the identity that they are attached to has been unconsciously formed. It's a collection of things you've heard your parents say, things you've heard your friends say, stuff you've seen on TV. You just happen to pick it up because you just thought, oh, everyone else is doing it. You've never thought about it. You've never consciously thought about, hey, do I want to accept this? Do I want to let this in? Is this going to serve me? When you start to consciously choose that, then you begin to experience.
