0:00
I don't enjoy it, it makes me nervous, especially if it's in person.
0:02
I can do it in print, I can do it on video, but man, dear God,
0:06
get me on the phone with somebody, or even worse, put me in front of a room,
0:10
and I'm just like sweating bullets.
0:11
That's why I never go to speak anywhere.
0:13
It's because I don't want to charge a speaker's fee,
0:14
because it's really not worth my time to do it.
0:16
And I don't want to pitch from stage, I hate doing it.
0:19
And so you would think, because I would not have any customers,
0:23
because I absolutely hate selling stuff.
0:25
I figured out a way around it, and that's why I want to share with you right now.
0:28
Transforming your business isn't about doing a million different things.
0:31
It's about finding one big thing, and then leveraging that.
0:34
Frank Kern has been advising entrepreneurs like you all day every day to do just that
0:40
If you want your next million, keep listening.

0:48
The following audio was taken from a recent Frank Kern Facebook video.
0:53
If you haven't already, make sure to follow Frank on Facebook.
0:56
All right, so earlier this morning, I was on.
0:58
I was like, you know, just go and just get on whatever platform,
1:02
and don't try to look cool, and don't try to make it perfect.
1:04
And then I drove all the way over here to my office.
1:07
And we're like, all right, man, we're just going to shoot this thing.
1:11
Naturally, it immediately just looked horrible.
1:13
And I don't know if you can see.
1:14
First of all, this is hilarious.
1:16
So we're trying to double stream right now to Instagram and to Facebook,
1:20
because I'm too lazy to make two different live streams.
1:23
And plus it's cool, and why not?
1:24
And I just want to see how long Aaron can hold his arms like this.
1:28
So Tyler showed them how close he is on the big.
1:31
All right, so now I'll show them on yours how close.
1:34
Tyler, so this office is like freaking cavernous.
1:37
So look at, like if you guys could just get this shot over here.
1:41
So this is where we work with our brain maker clients,
1:45
and with that, that's my private client group,
1:46
and with our flagship clients.
1:48
So we bring everybody here, and I like, you know,
1:50
help them out and prescribe things for them to do.
1:52
And the reason we got this and invested in it
1:54
is because I wanted them to have like a home, you know what I mean.
1:57
So I didn't want them to go to all these different hotels,
2:00
and I wanted them to have like the same consistent experience every time.
2:03
Which is cool, but what we didn't realize when we got this place
2:06
is that it was a gigantic echo chamber.
2:08
So we've been trying to do this too,
2:11
been live video, and like we'd start,
2:13
and then you could hear them when they're like doing the camera stuff,
2:17
and then it would sound like like this.
2:18
So now these two dudes are literally like two feet from my face.
2:21
So if you're like, why in the hell is it so zoom in on Frank's head?
2:25
And so you can hear me because we're in this freaking echo chamber.
2:28
Anyway, that's not why I'm making this video for you right now.
2:30
So the purpose of what I'm sharing with you now is literally,
2:35
and at least in my opinion, how to sell anything.
2:39
Actually, that's not even remotely right.
2:40
It's how to make these sales process.
2:43
So people worry a lot about selling.
2:46
Like how am I going to get buyers?
2:47
How am I going to get customers?
2:48
And personally, I absolutely hate selling.
2:51
Like I'm horrible at it.
2:53
It makes me nervous, especially if it's in person.
2:55
I can do it in print.
2:57
I can do it on video.
2:59
Like get me on the phone with somebody,
3:01
or even worse put me in front of a room,
3:03
and I'm just like sweating bullets.
3:04
That's why I never just speak anywhere.
3:06
It's because I don't want to charge a speaker's feed,
3:07
because it's really not worth my time to do it.
3:09
And I don't want to pitch from stage.
3:13
And so you would think,
3:14
because I would not have any customers,
3:16
because I absolutely hate selling stuff.
3:18
I figured out a way around it.
3:19
And that's why I want to share with you right now.
3:22
The way around it is the offer.
3:25
The offer itself has to be your assistant.
3:27
Well, if you've got a good offer,
3:28
and I mean, if the thing is great,
3:31
and the proposition is awesome,
3:34
then you can be the worst salesman in history.
3:38
And everything's going to work out pretty good.
3:40
It's really weird looking at two cameras, by the way.
3:42
So one platform's going,
3:43
why is he looking away from me?
3:44
And the other one's like, why is he looking at me?
3:46
I'm trying to engage in two different audiences right now.
3:49
This is not going as planned, by the way.
3:51
I've really thought I'd be cool with it right now.
3:54
Anyway, so the offer's got to be perfect, okay?
3:57
And here's an example of that.
4:00
Let's say that you are a just a morbidly unattractive person
4:07
with a terrible speech impediment.
4:10
And for whatever reason,
4:11
you have been injected with a cocktail narcotics
4:15
that makes you the most disagreeable person in the world.
4:18
So like you're just the meanest,
4:20
most surly, awful looking smelly and vile person in the world.
4:25
And you're trying to sell food, all right?
4:28
So that would make the sale of that food extremely difficult.
4:33
However, if you can engineer the situation and circumstances
4:39
in your favor, then it wouldn't matter.
4:41
You could sell all the food you wanted.
4:43
For example, if you, you know,
4:45
you're like setting up your hot dog stand
4:50
in the middle of the Sahara Desert
4:52
and you're like 45 yards away from this band of 100 stragglers
4:59
that have been walking around in this desert for three days
5:02
and they're absolutely starving,
5:03
they're not going to care, right?
5:06
So that's one way to engineer the sales process
5:08
is to get in front of the right people.
5:10
The other thing to engineer the sales process
5:12
and make your offer really, really strong.
5:16
Is to find out what it is that people really, really want
5:21
and then take the pain away from them making the decision
5:26
of getting it from you and then take the pain away
5:30
from you making the offer to them.
5:32
And I'll give you like a real world example.
5:35
So for us, we have these rainmaker clients and myself.
5:39
I'm used to be the person that sold it now.
5:41
They just talked to my wife and she ends up getting them
5:44
as clients and I rarely actually have to talk to them
5:47
But when I sold it, I would freak out about like,
5:50
oh my gosh, man, I got to talk to this person.
5:51
I'm going to try to sell them on.
5:52
I knew without question that I was able to get them the results.
5:57
I just had this mental hang up on sales.
5:59
So here's how I engineered it to where it worked
6:02
and I was able to sell lots of them
6:03
even though I'm terrible and awkward and all that kind of stuff.
6:06
So here's what I would do.
6:08
Instead of going to the marketplace and saying,
6:10
listen, you should be my customer and you need to come
6:16
and give me money and join my program or whatever.
6:18
I changed that offer and the offer that I put forth
6:21
to the marketplace was, listen, if you need some help
6:25
and you meet these criteria, namely,
6:28
you're already a successful business
6:29
and you already have a lot of deployable assets,
6:32
I'd be happy to set aside some time to help you for free.
6:35
And that was a very, very easy sale to make for me.
6:40
Because I wasn't doing the thing I was uncomfortable with,
6:42
which is like, oh, hey, give me some money, right?
6:45
So doing that's hard for me anyway.
6:48
And I started doing that and I got putting in people
6:52
that weren't qualified to become my customer.
6:54
You know, I'd get like a lot of beginners and whatever.
6:56
And I would kind of, I'd have a nice pleasant experience
6:59
helping them, but they wouldn't become clients.
7:00
And I then started refining that process,
7:03
being, listen, you know, I'm only going to set aside this time
7:06
to help you absolutely free, no problem.
7:08
Don't, you know, leave your wallet at home.
7:10
I'm only going to set aside some time to help you.
7:12
If you meet this criteria and I'd say, like, here,
7:15
at least a half a million dollars a year of business,
7:17
minimum, you've got this many people in your database,
7:20
you know, you have this type of deployable assets
7:22
where I could really make sense for us to help.
7:25
And then if you have that, then no problem.
7:27
Take an hour of my time, I'll help you the best I can.
7:30
And man, once I started doing that, here's what would happen.
7:34
They would come and they'd say, yes,
7:35
I'm interested in talking to you, you know,
7:37
and I'd say, okay, great, and I'd have them fill out a little form.
7:40
And I would tell them the two things, I'd say, you know,
7:42
I need to make sure I can actually do a good job for you.
7:44
And I need to get some information about you
7:46
so I can prepare for our conversation.
7:49
And they would fill out and tell me, you know, all right,
7:51
here's everything about our business or whatever.
7:53
What I ended up doing is, and I still do to this day,
7:56
even if they're not talking to me,
7:57
but they're talking to my wife, is I would decline
8:00
about 65, 70% of the people that wanted to talk to me,
8:03
which is a huge thing that helps you sell,
8:06
which is to set yourself up for victory in the first place, you know.
8:09
Don't talk to people, don't try to sell people stuff,
8:12
who can't afford your stuff,
8:14
who don't really, really want it, you know?
8:16
That's why, like, if we were the most disgusting people
8:19
in the world and we're selling hot dogs,
8:20
and we have the worst personality ever,
8:22
it wouldn't matter if we're in the desert,
8:24
standing in front of a bunch of starving people,
8:26
that's one way of setting yourself up for victory.
8:28
The other way of setting yourself up for victory
8:30
is only make the presentation to people
8:33
who can actually get what you have to offer
8:35
and who are clearly going to benefit from it, all right?
8:38
So anyway, back to that story.
8:40
So we're getting them, I'm talking to people on the phone,
8:43
and once I started talking to people
8:44
that actually could become clients,
8:47
so they wanted to, the sales process
8:48
became effortless for me,
8:50
because I would do one really simple thing.
8:52
I would take them through a light version
8:54
of what I call the Rainmaker process,
8:56
and the Rainmaker process has never failed me ever.
8:58
It's never failed me with clients,
8:59
and it's really never failed me with prospects,
9:02
and it works by forcing your prospect, basically,
9:06
or your client to identify, along with you,
9:10
the one single thing that they can do right now
9:13
to get the one result that they want,
9:15
it's always people want more capital, they want more cash.
9:18
So I would take them through this process.
9:20
And at the end of the process, I just, I go like this.
9:23
I say, well, it sounds like, you know,
9:24
based on what you told me,
9:25
it would be really smart idea to do this one thing.
9:31
That's probably what I should do.
9:32
And then my big closing method has always been,
9:36
well, you want me to help you with that?
9:38
And some would say yes.
9:41
But either way, it was easy for me.
9:43
Now, I never had to go to the marketplace ever
9:45
and say, become my client.
9:47
You should be my client.
9:48
And here's why I'm so great.
9:49
I never had to do it.
9:50
Instead, I reversed everything and said,
9:53
hey, if you want some help,
9:54
I'd be happy to help you.
9:55
No problem on my dime.
9:57
And making that shift,
9:59
changing the offer from give me money to let me help you.
10:02
And then letting the results of that help
10:05
be the driver to what made people want to pay.
10:07
Huge, huge turning point for us as a company.
10:10
Fast forward to today.
10:11
We have 43 private clients.
10:13
This is where we service them here, primarily,
10:15
and our learning center is great.
10:17
I meet with them a total of 28 days a year.
10:21
That collectively, they all pay around 1.3 million bucks.
10:24
I've got a couple other ones that pay royalties,
10:26
which are great and none of them were chased.
10:30
All of them were acquired using that one little method.
10:32
So if you're struggling with making a sale
10:37
and it makes you nervous or whatever,
10:38
try that little tactic and see how it helps you.
10:42
And I hope it does.
