Motivational Speeches — How Can I Calm My Mind? A Powerful Buddhist Story. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
Once upon a time, a disciple asked his master, how can I calm my mind? The master said, I am too busy to talk to you right now. Why not consult your first Dharama brother? He did as he was told and asked the same question. The first Dharama brother said, I have a headache, I can't talk now. Why not talk to the second Dharama brother? But the second Dharama brother said, I have a stomach ache. Why don't you just go and talk to our Dharama master? So he went back to his master and complained. Nobody told me anything. Nobody gave me any answers. The master said to him, you really are a stupid fool.
Everybody has been giving you the answer. Because of this, the disciple reached enlightenment. You see in life, in your life, no one else can solve your problems for you. It is you, it is your mind. You have to engage in inter-conversation and understanding of your will, of your desires, of your mind, power and of all the existence that we live in. Play with your thoughts, think about everything, contemplate. You don't need assistance from anyone else because all the truth of the world lies within you in your heart and your mind. This is there to do motivation, stories. Thanks for watching and stay blessed.
