House GOP Votes Test Trump’s Sway

About this episode

Watch Joe and Kailey LIVE every day on YouTube: http://bit.ly/3vTiACF.

Moderate Republicans are nearing a deal to extend enhanced Obamacare tax credits that they say could pass the House and Senate.

House lawmakers will vote on a three-year clean extension later Thursday after Democrats and a handful of Republicans forced House leaders’ hands through a discharge petition. Senate negotiators expect to modify that bill and say they’re close on the specifics.

Bloomberg Washington Correspondents Joe Mathieu and Kailey Leinz deliver insight and analysis on the latest headlines from the White House and Capitol Hill, including conversations with influential lawmakers and key figures in politics and policy. On this edition, Bloomberg's Tyler Kendall is in for Kailey. Joe and Tyler speak with:

  • Bloomberg Deputy Congressional Editor Mike Dorning.
  • House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, Congressman from Missouri.
  • Bully Pulpit International Managing Director Adam Hodge and Firehouse Strategies Managing Partner Matt Terrill.
  • Bloomberg TV Markets Correspondent Norah Mulinda.
  • Democratic Congresswoman Suzan DelBene of Washington.
