At the level now at fivehourenergy.com or on Amazon. It's the boomerangio podcast from WFAN. We're in GEO County live at the Bill Ford Topps studio on the fan and CBS Sports. Now we're speaking of Vertigo. Here we are. I mean, look at this. Here's Big Head calling right now. He's calling. You want to talk to Big Head Al? You probably don't. Oh, I mean, much is that? Yeah, I'm just saying the phone just to answer the phone. I'm not going to answer the phone. I'll call him in a break. Okay. This shows more important in Big Head right now on my tire. But I just figured he would know that we're on the air.
You know what I mean? Yeah. It's one of those things you would know. Just want you to be safe getting home. That's all the rake of Tina family of dealerships. Yeah. Nobody services better. They're customers than the rake of Tina family. You know, even they'll call you even when you're at work and they know you're on the air just to say, hey, I'm here for you. We are going to take care of you. By the way, you were talking about CNBC before. You had this big deal yesterday with CNBC. Yeah, more of Buffett and Guy and Tommy wasn't there. And all that stuff. Yeah, we had a cure summit. It was called, yes. Well, Jerry and Florida wants to talk about that real quick. What's going on, Jerry? Hey, guys, you're doing. Go, Jerry. Boomer. Yeah. Could be talking to you guys. Watch your guys every morning from veteran Florida. Hey, well, Boomer told the story about the cure conference. He was at yesterday in Warren Buffett. The new audience, I switched the swap box on. And then a few minutes later, Becky Quick told the same story that Boomer and his son came to the conference. He was up there. He breathed his Warren Buffett in the speech and shook his hand.
And it was just great hearing her say the same thing. Boomer said 10 minutes earlier, because I wanted to let you guys know that. Well, thank you, Jerry. Appreciate it. It was quite the day yesterday and a lot of Boomer and Shakers and the bioscience and finance world coming together. And hopefully going after even more childhood diseases and orphan diseases and trying to find the incentive and trying to find the right companies to do that. That's what it takes. It takes money. And I'll never forget the old CEO of the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Rich Mattingley, I would accompany him on a number of fundraising trips. And at the end of every single speech, you would end it with money by science and science buys lives. I would never forget that. It was etched in my brain. And for 33 years, I've seen that exact thing take place. Absolutely. Amazing. I didn't know Warren Buffett was in his mid 90s. I thought maybe late 80s. But it's 95 years old. Yeah, incredible. You mentioned before, you think that there is juice around the WBC
because the way these guys are talking and watching Japan celebrated. Listen, the Olympics brought to me anyway. It brings out the patriotism and all of these teams, all of these players, they know that they're playing for their country. Are you telling me, when you see Juan Soto and the Dominican team playing, what, since the Domingo down there in the DR. It's a huge deal, yeah. And you see that stadium sold out? Yes, for, yeah, without a doubt. That little country wants to own baseball. Yeah, that I can totally understand. I mean, the Dominican team, the Puerto Rican team, the Venezuelan team, absolutely. In my eyes, they own golf. I like it. The Dominican's the cost of the combo. I'm coming, baby. But yeah, but I mean, I just, I wonder though, is it going to be anything like the support that the US hockey team got if team USA starts moving on? And I just, I don't, I don't think so because the Olympics are the Olympics and there was people who are not hockey fans
are going to watch that. Are the people who aren't baseball fans going to gravitate to the WBC? I think if the Americans make it to the semi-finals, depending on who they're playing, where it's televised, yeah. I do think that people will get into it because there are stores that now are playing. You know, the thing about the Olympics is you have the NHL players participating. And the NHL had to shut down, you know, because I know baseball fans get all ticked off because, you know, we lost Ed Wendillas down there when he was celebrating. That's right. And it meant a lot to Ed Wendillas and that's why he was celebrating. But now, like the NHL shut down the middle of their season. So these guys could go play hockey over in Milan. And you could see how it, how physical and how intense those games were because you're playing for your country. Yeah. And I think now this is going to start, this is only going to help this particular situation with the WBC that it's going to mean something. Now I will say that, you know, if you don't have schemes going but one game and maybe knowing a cleaning game here or there, I mean, I understand you got to be careful
because you're just starting the 162 game season. But I think these guys are into it. I really do. Do you think though that because it's right, even though the Olympics are in the middle of the season, but you could tell that these guys were giving it their all. They weren't holding back at all. You know, they would risk injury to win the gold medal. But do you think that there's that same type of free for all? I do not care. Winning this thing above all is the same mentality that goes into the WBC. I'm only saying yes because of what I heard Aaron Judge tell Pat McAfee. You know, of Aaron Judge, just listen to him and how much it means to him and how much it means to put that jersey on, that is that is awesome. And I think that's exactly what we want as sports fans. We want guys that are going in there going to compete to win. You know, that's why we hate tanking. We hate tanking in all these sports. And these guys get a chance to do a small
what two and a half week. Many season wearing their country's jerseys and they're all going to want to leave a mark. Yeah, there's just not to me. There's just not enough history with it yet. Whereas with the Olympics, you can ask any person, age, gender, sports fan, not sports fan, you know, what are the Olympics? They'll be able to tell you. I mean, the WBC just doesn't have that same type of deal. They'll also be able to tell you what the World Cup of Soccer is too. Well, yeah, of course. I mean, so now if America was playing Brazil in soccer and we beat them, that'd be one of the biggest deals of all time. Yeah, that's right. That's why this Brazil American baseball game, you got to be careful. Yeah. It was out for Brazil, you never know. Well, mate, I know that it got a lot of traction the last time around the WBC. I'm curious to see if this one transcends past the hardcore baseball fan. Because that's what I think it is for now, at least in this country. I'm obviously it's everybody, you know, in the Dominican Japan, Mexico, Venezuela, you know, the DR, America.
Come on, they all want to win. They want to win. I know they do. I know. I'm not saying that they don't. My argument is, is this going to be something that the average sports fan who is, you know, a casual baseball fan, but like gets into it because it's team USA and we're off the Olympics, fresh off the Olympics and everybody's into it. Can the WBC create that type of buzz throughout the country? I'm going to say no, because it's just a different deal. I just don't, I'm going to say yes, depending on who the USA is playing. You know, it was a big deal, it was USA Canada for both the men and the women. Those games were huge on the ice. And if it's American, Japan, if it's America and the DR, yeah, I think it's going to be, I think it's not, I think it will catch enough eyeballs. Yes. Let's say Nolan McLean throws a complete game shut out in the championship game of the WBC. Is he on Jimmy Fallon?
I would say it's not the Olympics. Right. It's not the Olympics. I don't think it's close. No, it's not. Sean and Belmore, what's happening? Hey, what's up, Boomer? How are you doing, bro? All right, good. What's going on? All right, here's the problem with the Olympics. Right off the bat. You train your whole life just to get that moment to start complaining about your political views. Why? That's what it ruins everything. Shut up and do what you do best. That's why when it came to hockey, not one of them mentioned anything about this, that Trump. Those kids went out there and they kicked ass. When they should have lost that game against Canada, that's what made that Olympics unbelievable. And the smiles on their face, the world-based world crisis will never compare to that. Yeah, and that you got. I probably won't. But it depends on what your politics are. Like, there are your politics. If you are a patriot and you are an America first person and you see an athlete draped in the flag saying
that I live in the greatest country in the world, and I'm so thankful for everything that I have gotten because of that, then that may piss off somebody else's politics. You know what I'm saying? I do. And that's the problem. Like, I think that most of those players, both men and women, by the way, said the same thing about representing their country, wearing their country's name on the front of their jersey, really meant something to them because of how they were brought up, the opportunities that they were giving, but it's also they've earned their right to be there and to celebrate. And some people, some people. Not a lot of people, but some people find that to be offensive wrapping yourself in the flag and being a patriot. There's so hard for me to understand, but that's just the way it is. There's also the side of this where our reporter is going to try to get that controversial answer from some of these other, like, you're going to, somebody who's going to try in a post game news conference or a pre-game news conference
to ask, you know, the Dominican team or the Venezuelan team, what do you think about the immigration policies that are going on? You know, something like that to get into those questions or ask them, the players feel like they need to answer it, then that's where the problem arises. If the player just says, look, I'm here to play baseball and to represent my country, that's what I'm here for. And I want to win. That's the answer. You don't have to go need deep into it if you don't want to. That's right. But somebody will try to walk you into it, for sure. Oh, with that idea. You know, it's going to be really interesting. I'm telling you, it's going to be this, this World Cup of Soccer and you have this Iranian team that's what it's going to be out in Seattle. Isn't it, aren't they playing in a pride match? I think it's a pride match. The Iranian team versus, I'm trying to think who the other team there are playing in a game pride match. It's like, yeah, I, how's it big controversy? Why, why would the World Cup game be a game pride match? It's in Seattle. Yeah, I think it's storing, again,
I have, I have to story. Let's get the whole story. The rest of the story. But the question, the interesting thing will be the questions around the world cup. Sorry. I know he's trying to be serious, but I don't know why would the World Cup have a gay pride match? Is there any point? Well, let me say I'll get it for you. Great gay pride match. World Cup. Yeah, here we go. Okay, so there we go. It goes a 2026 World Cup pride match is scheduled for June 26th in Seattle at Lumenfield between Iran and Egypt. Oh, there you go. That's the other thing. Two nations where homosexuality is illegal. But who is deciding that it's a gay pride match? The people who organize FIFA?
It's either FIFA or I can juncture with the Seattle government or the Washington State government. I don't know. So it says FIFA or a FIFA involvement. FIFA is not officially commented on the situation. Seattle organizers designated this match to coincide with Seattle Pride weekend and planned LGBTQ plus celebrations tied to the game. The match itself is not a separate tournament or special exhibition. It's just simply scheduled the World Cup game that would be taking place during the Pride festivities in Seattle. There you go. Okay. FIFA yet to intervene on Pride match despite Egypt's objection. That's a headline here. You know, I think Iran is objecting to anything right now. Yeah. So what's going to happen here? It's just they're going to play soccer and it's going to be a bunch of women kissing each other outside. Like, I don't know what is the bad woman. Yeah, I know. I don't what is the and they probably chose it
because you have two countries where it's banned. So who is it? They get the Seattle's people. Seattle. It's Seattle politicians. Yeah. Yes. It's Seattle Pride weekend. Okay. And the game happens to be being played in Seattle between Egypt and Iran. All right. Yeah, say. And you're in your bus to my chop. I'm not bus to your chops. I just didn't like thing. And right now, you're like, they're having a gay pride match. I'm like, I don't know what you're talking about. And I don't know if the Iranian team can practice right now. Why not? Because they're under a pack. They've done everywhere. Yeah, it's, it's, yeah, it's mainly and the biggest part of it, I think, has been carried out of the operation, right? I had, I don't know. I'm not with Sencom. I'm not sure. No, they said it could be another four weeks, five weeks, and not ruling out boots on the ground. All right. Yeah, I'm not sure what to do with this. Oh, I know. Is that if I were the next in line of succession,
I wouldn't want to announce it to anybody. Because you ain't going to be around the next thing. Yeah, probably. Yeah, that's an interesting, that's an interesting thing. I'm sure it's going to carry on. It's going to happen. I'm surprised you didn't hear about this. This is the first year hearing about this. No, I think I, I think, you know, it's not because you did sports minute and you did boomer sportsman in voice and you were like, I just remember like my head popping up because you're like, or homosexuality is a crime. I'm boomer a citizen. And I was like, what? And then I think we talked about it and then I forgot about it. Okay. Type of thing. Yeah, but this is, it's interesting, but they're not going to protest. They're going to play in a game. You know, that's what's going to happen. Yeah, but you know, like it is. Listen, I got enough problems with this world cup. I've already took care of half of the thing with Morocco and that wonderful man who called up and Seelow's buddy, Bill, to get Yusef the tickets to see Morocco and Brazil, I think. I think, yes, Morocco and Brazil. Morocco beats Brazil.
That would be huge. Yeah. I'd be so happy for Yusef. And I got to get the Ecuador tickets for rest of the bond. I don't, you know, whatever Egypt saying about the gay pride match, I can't get, you know, I got my own problems here. I'm not worried about the Egyptians homophobia right now. Okay. And then the Iranians, they've got big issues. But I don't think the Iranians have, well, maybe the clerics do, but I don't think the Iranian people have the objections, the Persian people, the cradle of civilization. Yeah. It says, yeah, I'm reading all of it right now. I just, yeah, it causes outrage. So what, how do you think the media, do you think the media is going to be able to get to some of the players to ask some questions about this or no? Send that Ross Matthews out there. That's what they should do from Drew Barrymore show. Yes. And it's the Egyptian players getting Ross out there. That would really throw him for a loop.
Well, anyway, yeah. So basically, it is a diplomatic and cultural controversy. It is. There you have it. There you have it. The rest of the story. It's the Boomerangio podcast from WFAN. Borangio Company Live, the build for top studio on the fan and CBS sports network. Red pocket mobile fan line brought you by your new ultimate cell carrier red pocket, mobile 888-808-101-9. Jerry Reco is back with another sports update. What's up, Jerry? We're brought to you by Chef IQ Precision Cooking, effortless results. Chef IQ.com, Nix and Thunder. Tonight at Madison Square Garden, Nix of 41,
team the Thunder 48 and 15. Last night, the Nix continued to pound at the Raptor. Down to top shot, it goes. All Anthony Towns with 21 and 13. Officially, 21 and 12, but a double-double nonetheless, as the Nix beat Toronto 111-95 on the road, come back to Madison Square Garden for this big game tonight. As for last night, Mike Brown says, pretty nice win, Jalen Brunson, the double-double, Towns the double-double, OG and an OB at 15 points. Physical game. Obviously, you give Toronto credit. It brought a lot of physicality to the game tonight, but I believe our guys responded the right way. And I guess they were going after Jalen Brunson physically last night to try and knock him off his spot and off his game. Here was Brown and how he dealt with it. He's built for that, you know, and it makes him that much more competitive as the game goes along, you know. So if people want to be physical with him,
mentally, he's built that way. And then go forward, as everybody pays attention. Win or lose, it's all going to come down to the playoffs. How deep are you going in the playoffs? That's what it's going to come down to. And whether or not Yannis is going to be here next year. Yeah, one of you guys said it last week. They've basically become the Yankees. The regular season is what it is. It's a formality. Let's get to the postseason. Especially when you're fire coaches. And you're bringing in coaches that you're going to take you to the next step. Now, if they play like they played the last three games and they have another one of those games tonight where they play well at home against one of the best teams in the league, you know, then all they noise will quiet down a little bit. Yeah, the baseball regular season, though, because it's so much longer feels like when you're the Yankees and you're like, you're not caring about the regular season. It feels just so much longer. Yeah. With the playoffs, with the place saying, April, you say to me and June. All right. With the nicks, I feel like, you know, the beginning of the season, we're excited to see what they look like. And then once you get passed into the new year and they're there and they're firmly in the playoffs,
now from here to the postseason, it's just wait for the playoffs, wait for the playoffs, wait for the playoffs. And yeah, I mean, it sucks that that's the way that it is. And the expectations have sort of taken away the fun of this regular season. The seed does matter, though. I mean, yeah, I'm, of course, it matters. I don't think it's going to be a huge deal either way with this team. I don't, I don't see them on the road or at home. They'd won on the road. Yeah, I'm fine with that. I mean, it was bad games at home. It made terms of where and when you see Detroit, you know, you're going to see them in the second round. You're going to see them in the conference finals. By the way, they're fourth now Detroit on the odds to make it out of the Eastern Conference, which is crazy to me. Who's one? The calves still. The calves, then the Celtics, and they're like basically the same. It's like plus 270 plus 260. And then the nicks are like plus 420 and the pistons are plus 460, something like that. But yeah, they still, I mean, they love the calves, whatever.
I mean, I don't understand. I mean, the James Harden thing. I mean, I guess that's just maybe algorithm based. And they're not factoring in that James Harden's going to quit in the second round. I can understand they've won a bunch of games with them, but he's just, he doesn't want to play basketball once it gets close to the summer. He's proven that over and over and over again. I agree with that. Why force your way out of LA, then, to a team that wants to go deep into the postseason? Because you would think just stay in LA. That's a good question. I mean, if you do make it, you get knocked out in the first round. How are you going to Vegas? Oh, right. Yeah, I'd have to think about that, but I'll guarantee he'll quit in a playoff. He might be better. Maybe, you know, maybe it's one of these things where he thinks this is what he wants. It's like, this is what I want. I want to try to win. And then new halfway through, he's like, F this. Is that something that they can put on Kalshi in polymarket? When James Harden stops playing basketball? Yes. In the middle of the game. Yeah, absolutely. Oh, man. I saw Craig talking about how Kalshi on their predictive market head, whether or not the Ayatola was going to be in power,
like on March 1st. And people made money on it. Well, they listed the market called Ali Kamani out as supreme leader by a certain date. And they saw a huge trading volume around this predictive market. Many, because users strongly believe that Kamani died, that would mean the market hit its condition. Hmm. So it's people got pizade on that, huh? Well, no, I think there's a controversy around it as to whether or not what Kalshi meant was he stepping down or was he getting killed? Yeah, that's tricky. This is where these things get a little tricky. Yeah, and, you know, I'm reading here, US regulations prohibit contracts that allow people to profit from death or assassination. Oh, how about that? I didn't know that. So Kalshi had to pause the market after the death.
All right, interesting. And I brought down the show last hour. Yeah, I know. The heat beat the Nets 124.98, the spurs over the 76ers, big 131.91. They outscored Philadelphia in the second quarter. 46 to 28. Here was a dejected Nick Nurse. They crushed us. We were doing a decent job there for a while. And then we just, you know, we didn't, didn't make they scored lots of transition. Just, you know, really the second quarter defensively was was really bad. Obviously, they were, they were really rolling, hitting tons of threes, getting to the rim. There just was no, no resistance defensive. No resistance defensively. That's a tough one. I bring up this game because Bob Costas was doing the game. I think it was on the on peacock. The streaming service. And he was talking about the NBA on NBC. That worked out well with the guys. So we're going to say, I think he said Enberg. Oh, too great. Yes, Dix. D-E-T. That someone's going to cut that off. That's not going to sound right.
It's not going to sound right. Too great Richards. Too great, Dix. Yes. Too great, Dix. Who was the other one? Dick Enberg and who else was talking about? Dick Enberg's talk. Dick Enberg's talk. I think is what they were discussing. You were with Dix now? What about Dick Stockton? They would be three Dix. Yes. Who's the greatest dick was unbelievable? The greatest dick of all time. In broadcasting? Super Dix. It's got, I mean, Dick Enberg. Dick Enberg at UCLA, which I learned, has the press room named after him. Yeah, I mean, Dick Embersold did a lot for sure. Dick is in you. I don't know him. I mean, what about Dick Vitale? That's a very good one, Dick. That's a very good one. Yeah. I mean, if you're one of these Dix. I loved what grown up was in a Dick Enberg and Meron Olsen. Sure. Together as a pair, they were great. Dick Button. Are they Dick Buttons?
Yeah, he might be the greatest dick of all time. Are you a sports dick? Everybody loves Dick. I think I want to say of all time, the greatest dick of all time, regardless of genre. I did some googling. Yeah. Dick Clark. Oh, okay. Dick Pound. Who is that time? Eddie spends a lot of time back there. I don't know what he's doing half the time. Now I know what he's doing half the time. I don't know who that one is, but all right. That's cool. Anybody else on that list outside of sports? The Dick Clark one is a good one. I think it's going to be tough to be. Richard Nixon. Yeah, but no one counted him. Tricky Dick. Yeah, I know. But no one called him Dick Nixon. Dick Tr- Uh. Dick Tracey. Dick Tracey. Dick Tracey. Dick Tracey. Yeah. What about NASCAR's Dick Trickle? Dick Trickle, yeah. That's a good one too. Yep. What a dick.
A guy from Morristown. What's up, a guy? Hi, it's Guy from Morristown. How are you? Speaking of Dick. Well, you know, I'm surprised that you're missing the best dick of all. And Jio, you should know this because I called you guys a couple weeks ago during your J-Giles conversation. But of course, magic dick. Magic dick. The harmonic player of the J-Giles band is the greatest dick of all time. Yeah, you know what? It's hard to argue. He's definitely on my top five dick lists. Yeah, a lot of people say Boomer has a magic dick. But you know, speaking of Boomer, by the way, breaking news from the Morristown branch, we share makeup artists over the years. I think you know that Jackie Dominique. Yes. There's a chance that we may be sharing anchors. The CNBC management was smitten by what Norman Boomer saw and yesterday I'm just throwing that out there. So Jerry, you're wants to be in the power chair.
Maybe coming to fruition. I do not want to break news here. Breaking news from Morristown. Breaking news. Faking news. Well, did guy, I did report that, you know, I did talk to the guy that runs the place over there. That would be Casey. Yeah, and Casey told me how you like to go over his house and have dinner and you're on a text read with his wife and family. That's true. All true. All true. Alley suck up. To the wall. Okay, you know something, that is, okay, if you really want to go down this road because now people are going to be thinking the guy is a kid's ass. Which he is not and that was the third person. I knew Casey prior to his rise at CNBC. I knew him through his mother-in-law who worked at Del Barton. By the way, years ago, and I don't know if you knew this or not, I sent out a bunch of swag from Del Barton for all your people. That's when Craig Carton was populating the seat. Yeah, that's when Al didn't share stuff with us. Yeah, Craig probably took it all. So if you see folks listening under radio on the Odyssey application,
if you start to see the boom's hosting shows on CNBC, you will know why yesterday was the genesis of that. So there you go, I just wanted to report in. Well, I appreciate it, guy. It was a great day yesterday. And Becky was very kind to have us to be a part of that summit, that cure summit. And I look forward to doing hopefully some more stuff like that. But it was just really great to meet. Like I said, the Oracle of Omaha. Dick Clark or Dick Van Dyke. Dick Clark. Dick Clark. Dick Van Dyke's got to be up there though. Yeah, I mean, it's one or one A. All right, Dick Clark or Moby Dick. No, Dick Clark. All right. You want to talk about? I would say every kid in America knows about Moby Dick. Yeah, but does every kid in America know about Dick Clark? Not now. At one point in time, I would say teenagers, yes, because of the music background and everything else. And they still use his name on, uh, but we're doing fictional Dick now. I don't understand. If we're talking about,
well, that would have to be a part of that. I hear you say Dick Tracy. Yeah, I mean, if we're talking about the most famous Dick's. Well, all right. Now, okay, now we got to stock on TikTok. Now we got to check. Now we got to check movies. And characters. Sure. Yeah, but those are characters. I thought we were doing real Dick's. All right. If you want to do real Dick's Dick Clark wins, if you're doing it, if you're opening up, although Dick's Dick Van Dyke is a good one though. Yeah. The more I think about it, you might be right on that one. Yeah, he's still living. Yeah, he is. He's 98. I believe in still working out. And he's 99. He might be. And like I said, I think he still goes to the gym. That will be out at 99, humping your weight at the gym. Hitting your pumpkin seeds. Walking whimsy. We should be so lucky. No, he just turned 100. He is 100. Well, happy birthday. Yeah, December in December. Okay. December 13th. He turned 100 years old.
Now, there would have been, if there were sports minutes, there would have been a happy birthday, Dick one from Boomer on that one. Happy birthday, Dick. Right. There's no way you wouldn't know. Well, you know, the thing is that there's a name Richard, which obviously has the nickname Dick. Does that count? No. No, it has to be someone that no one is Dick. Okay. Like you declared Dick Van. Yeah, like we've been saying Dick. Have it. Yeah. Like Richard Jefferson played for the nets. No one calls him Dick Jefferson. Yeah. So no, that would not count. By the way, you see Mark Teixeira projected to win his Republican house primary. Yes. In Texas. So you might have sports, maybe political politics, who knows? Teixeira does. He was asked on a podcast. Why is he doing this? I had the ability to play baseball for 14 years. Married the most amazing woman in the world where college sweethearts got three great children. And, you know, as a Christian, as someone that follows the Bible every day and reads the Bible, I understand that I am meant to serve. The Bible doesn't say you have a great career and raise your family and go on vacation.
It tells you to serve. And I take that service very seriously. And so he has won. You're on the mark. Teixeira. Yes. Yes. So good for him. That's kind of neat. I'm entering into the sewer pit of politics. Yes, he is. That is very true. And you had the devils beat the Panthers last night five to one. This episode is brought to you by Progressive. I'm Brian, I work at U.D. Healthcare. So Brian, why do you care? I care because I don't want to leave anybody behind. I oversee one of the biggest resource center in United Healthcare. I see people walked in in my office every day, just like my parents. They have no idea about the healthcare. I feel like they are my uncles, aunties. I treat it as people's life family. I'm Brian, and I'm committed to care. Putin is an interesting fella. He has got some takes on things that are bizarre when it comes to sports.
He was another one when it came to marriage. So he's got nine children with three different women, Camduten. And he said, I want to be around who I want to be. Excuse me, let me say this again. I want to be around who want to be around me. So if it's five, if it's six, if it's one, I like volunteers. I don't like hostages, which is the Mike Tomlin friend. Yes. So he's saying that if you have the one woman, eventually it's like having a hostage. And he doesn't like that. It doesn't seem right, right? That's a hilarious take. Honestly, I mean, if that's how you're interpreting it. Oh, that's what he said. He's saying, I thought it was like, I want to be around the people that want to be around me. But yeah. And meaning the kids and the wives.
Or not the wives, but the women. Sure. But he's basically saying that you just want his kids to feel like they're hostages because they have to hang around them. Yeah, to me, I took this as I'm not going to stay with the same woman. Because eventually it's going to be at the moment, okay. That's what I think. I mean, the kid doesn't have a choice. No, the woman has a choice. But yeah, but he doesn't want the kids to feel like they're hostages. Oh, yeah. I'm sure he doesn't, but I don't think that's what he was saying in this particular thing. So he says, yeah, I mean, once you, you know, I'm done with you, I'm done with you. I had a kid with you. You feel like a hostage you can get out of here. I mean, the amount of money that this man has to pay probably. Speaking of that, did you see the report that Odell Beckham Jr. filed for bankruptcy? I didn't. Yeah. Come on. Yeah. What are these guys doing? You know, it's, it's, you know, again, I've often talked about this going back from when I played when the players weren't making that much money.
And we were in the 50% tax bracket. Yeah. And I'm players, you know, would basically leave the NFL with nothing. You know, it didn't matter if they made a million bucks or a million two. I'll never forget I did have a player on my team back in Cincinnati that was making a significant amount of money ended up getting divorced. And the judge required him, you know, to pay a certain amount of money to the ex-wife. And he only had like three years left on his career. Yeah. And he was bound to those numbers for like 18 or 19 years, I think, because of the kids. You know what I mean? Yeah. And he just, there was no way financially he could withstand that. Yeah. So it says here, I mean, I can't. So I'm seeing one of these things. I guess this was one of those ML football accounts or whatever. It says, you know, bankrupt report. Odell Beckham Jr. is filed for chapter nine bankruptcy. But I don't see anything else on the story. So I'm not, I'm not positive.
I did as I saw it somewhere else. Bankrupt. You know, like they had the Todd Bulls child with autism. But then there's also another, you know, there are reasons why you would, you would file for bankruptcy. It doesn't mean you don't, you've lost everything. Sure. You're just trying to protect everything that you still have. That's true. You see that a lot with businesses. Yeah. And I guess professional athletes in themselves can be businesses. Yes, they can. Let's go to Leo and Belmore. What's going on, Leo? Hey, good morning, guys. What's up? Not so much. I want to let Boomer know if he didn't already know that GCandle gave him a little shout out. A spitting chick with their most recent pod. Yandle on the win. How about that? What's that? Yeah, Yandle win the win. We play a song here out that a whole song parody on him when he was here as a ranger. That's right. It's the Zonkman. It was talking about our favorite neat arc athlete, Matthew Schaefer. Yeah. And they were just kind of citing, you know, Boomer and Saisin said,
and then for the people that didn't know, he got into the whole you know, Sydney, Matt Martin, and now he's living with you. And we're just telling a story that you were telling about Schaefer. And for me, you know, I listen to you guys every day. I listen to them all the time. So it's like, worlds are colliding. And it's pretty cool. I know you're a fan of them. So I don't know if you knew that they kind of named drop you their booms. Well, that's great. I appreciate that Leo. And it's nice to hear Keith Yandle to end the boys' spitting chick. What's referring back to us? Is somebody who's trying to cut your no off? No, it was off. Somebody at CVS Force and we're either fell asleep or I don't know what because that entire phone call it was focused on me just sitting here. Yeah, I know that. I had to do something to entertain the audience. And you were trying to cut your nose off of the pair of scissors. Yeah. Why not? You know, uh, so speaking of that. Okay. Now, I'd love to be a part of this, but I don't know if it would, I've got self-awareness. You know what I mean? So I don't know if I'm big enough to get in this mix.
You're in the power chair. But so they do the sandbaggers. Okay. And check with you. So Whitney's a good golfer. Yandle's, you know, average. Okay. And, and, and this is terrible. So shocking. So I was thinking, okay, you met me against them for a sandbagger. Okay. Or we could do that. But they're probably one another. But I mean, they'd be smart to bring me into the talk about it. Yeah, but you're geo, man. You are a golf psycho. That's true. I mean, you are like right out of and, and, and really, when you think of YouTube golf, the first person I think of, and I know you think of all these other guys that are out there putting in this stuff, I, I think of you because you're the one who turned me on to it. Yeah, brought it to the world. Yes you did. Thank everybody can thank me for that. Oh, no, I'm kidding. But yeah, I would love to do that. I mean, I know they'd probably better like like Cal Matt and you,
you know, probably better, but, or maybe you could be my caddy. No. I don't beat, no. Why not? I'm a much better caddy than a player. But I, I just, I don't beg to have you for you. No, you'd be in a cart. You'd have to be in a cart with the card cam. Oh, yeah, sure. I could ride on the back, maybe. But when you get going with those carts, a little dicey. But yeah, I am, I don't know. I would love, I would, that would be a great match, I think, because, you know, you're the good golfer Matt's average and I'm terrible. So it's like, it would be a good match. Well, the other thing too is is that, you know, Cal is like a plus two or something. Yeah. But they want to play. I'm sure they played with Cal. You would think that they have. Yeah, I'm sure they have. What about Wally? Where does Wally fit into this? But those aren't hockey guys. You know what I mean? They're like playing a hockey guys. You're a hockey guy. I mean, I am a hockey fan. Yes. Or we, yeah. They probably want to shave this, does, do you think this business in Martin would, would drop the clubs and go at it?
Yeah. Of course they would. Yeah, I'm those guys. I just, I think I talk about it all the time. I am big fans of them. They crack me up. They're so funny that those guys, the three of them are hilarious. So, yeah, maybe, I mean, listen, it'd be a great, I think that would be an awesome thing. We can push for that. You want to push for that? You can push for that. I'll push for it. Push for it. Who would you rather have Matt or Cal? Well, Cal is the better player. Yeah, but he's in a better story of it's Matt. Matt tends to be more fun. Okay. You know, Cal gets very intense. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He misses like a three-foot putt. Watch out. Yeah, he broke a putter. Didn't he break a putter? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, he did. When he's probably broken, he's broken a few things, including some finishes. All the pets on how intense you want it to get. Oh, whatever's the most entertaining thing. So, you know, one that leads the NHL and history in hits. That's Cal. Yeah, yeah. Guys, second is Matt. Right, right, right. So, yeah. This is why I feel like it should be you and then maybe those two guys.
And then I'm out and I'm on the outs. I'm just the person who want to drive the cart. You want to be like our coach? I'll be the Cal, operate the drone. That's what I'll do.
