this is the triskarlan podcast survived morning's it and on espn new york and streaming live on youtube what's the word on look at what not necessarily disappointed uh... with the news last night that the giants cut derriest slate and i was a little bit surprised at the timing of it and that it wasn't done earlier uh... i understand that they may still bring him back after week one because then the contracts become uh... not guaranteed for the rest of the season it was and the timing was a bit odd but then again it's really not because right now they have just four wide receivers on the roster then they've got for running backs including the fullback for tight ends and for wide receivers giants are running the football giants are on the football and not only that you're rolling the dice and and look we expect burials to be one of these guys because he's going to be up for the first game you know who'll be the return guy but look he can also go out there and play some slot he's done that in his career

but you're rolling the dice in the sense okay neighbors back on fields darnel mooney that's what you have right now okay mleague neighbors is a guy who was thought it will not even a hundred percent sure he's even going to play in week one because he's coming back from a pretty significant injury correct yep okay o del is a guy who was a pipe dream in the summertime to even make this roster he was like 19th on the depth chart I'm exaggerating but it took a lot for him to kind of still find a new career theoretically to make a team to Austin absolutely so you're putting a lot of stock in this group to number once they healthy and then to go out there and produce because say what you want about Darius late and I know that giant fans kind of love to hate him is a good way to put it because he was a guy that kind of bridged different regimes that all really weren't very successful and they just kind of couldn't wait to get rid of him but he was a professional receiver and now they're saying that he's already heard from three teams I don't know if he's coming back like this could be the end of

dary slain in the what he posted yesterday made it seem like he's done is a new york giant beware is all I'm saying yeah beware you know what I mean because like right now you took a wide receiver room which had a lot of names in it back in June and now it don't look half as populated anymore and you better hope that those guys can stay on the field each and every Sunday to your first point uh... room regarding the league neighbors here's getting brought down this morning on get up with the very latest the league neighbors has been a very pleasant surprise for the giant's coaching staff since they got back to training camp since they you know they take you take five six weeks off after many camp they believe that he was further along in his recovery when they arrived at training camp then they had reason to expect him to be so he's he's passed every test he's been out there with a non-contact not not with a non-contact Jersey last couple weeks it sounds like he's going to be good to go for Sunday night which is massive for the giant uh... it is obviously a huge difference maker for their offense what does this say about dark because i i get

what they want to be john harbohad lamar jackson in bultimore jackson dart is not lamar jackson we're not trying to coach it out of them but we're certainly not trying to uh... encourage him to be that extra weapon that jackson was because lamar understood how not to take hits and was certainly a lot more of an electric player then then certainly jackson dart is so you're trying to do this you're constructing this team to run the ball as much as you are but you're doing it with one less weapon then you had in bultimore in running the ball you had jackson to run it in bultimore you don't have that here and you want to stay away from him running the football and taking as many hits and going down and sliding or get a running out of bounds and that sort of thing if indeed he is going to be out there and trying to make plays with his legs that that certainly is something that's going to be of a greater importance now

look you do you talk about the giants of running the football you're giants are running the football great but we also talk about this running back group right now to where you don't necessarily have a quote-unquote bell cowl like he had in bultimore with Derek Henry there's no Derek Henry here no guy was going to get 20 to 25 carries a game like this is something that's going to be distributed amongst you know these two or three backs throughout the course of a game until they start riding the hot hand maybe I don't know midway through the season I got news for you nasi Harris is not the hot hand no it's it's he's okay but nasi Harris is not what you think that he is and there's a reason he's been on all these different teams already it when you look at the fall well you go back and do your stat look all this guy to thousand yards first couple of years ago yeah is under four yards of carry it would be not an efficient guy no and if you only want him to be an eight or nine carry a game guy okay that's fine but we don't definitively have an amazing solution here

if skataboo gets hurt and that's a pretty safe assumption that at some point skataboo is going to get hurt if he does and that opens up a whole other can of worms that have to address down the road but like I said I also think they're going to be in a position to where they're going to pick their spots with him like we talk about you know what Aaron judge and what the Yankees are going to do to try to get him back into the mix here I think you're the yeah if you're the giants you're treating skataboo is a way who as a player who still I don't know if you want to say he's on a pitch count but they're going to have to kind of protect him against himself if that makes any sense I mean you have to do that even he's away from the football field you got to protect him against himself or from himself right and I think that they're going to do that on game days as well because I think they realize how valuable he could be and what type of a role he could play with this offense and we saw it in a small sample size last year like he could be important but you know these are two players the guy who you hope to be your number one back a guy you know is your number one receiver both coming back

from pretty significant injuries here and you hope that that doesn't rear its ugly head again are you happy the giants moved on from Daria's Slate and eight hundred nine one nine three seven seven six are they roll in the dice here only having four receivers right now on the roster although as Dan pointed out burios will be off see that's the thing like you say like happy like the way you phrase I like if I'm a giant fan right now because I know a lot of giant fans who are not just appointed the Daria Slate and go to the work down on it there's a guy the works here who feels just like that and I never really came around to understanding that but what because he's like I said because he's the longest ten year there was the longest ten year giant and you know there was a lot of losing associated and you know for times he was looked at as your most accomplished receiver which isn't saying a hell of a lot and he was you know well how about this to you know what it also tells me if you needed any further example of it guess who's running the show not the guy who signed them to a three year extension just a year ago no you know man like so so how do you think that way I just told him to go cut him how do you how do you think

that went over the Labor Day barbecue over there in East Rutherford you think John Harbour and Shane or you know flipping burgers out in the back there on the grill and then Harbour says you know what I think we're going to move on from Daria Slate and Shane goes no we can't do that I just signed him to an extension three year extension a year ago and Harbour says why don't you go tell him that we're moving on exactly that's how it went you you can go give him the call exactly finish your burger call him text him your call you let him know you let him know and I would point out like if if you're Joe Shane and you don't think you can move on from somebody who you just gave an extension to well you just did and you just got an extension so yes I think that that would be a problem a year from now if you're not going to go along with what the he's clearly going to go along with what the program but see if I'm a giant fan like I think to me that's a sign of growth and progress because they're not afraid to or they're not doubling down on their mistakes no I agree with that I mean some teams do that no they absolutely do right and sometimes we want to law that as patients

and sometimes oh no no no you're you're just not moving on from it and I think you and I have had the discussion before that's one of the things that has made how he roseman as successful as he has been in Philadelphia is oh oh oh that was a mistake let's get out of this let's move on for it let's get it done quickly and it's not double down on it and ride it out and I'm going to go to the grave with this guy then you're going to the grave and you better if you are going to go ahead and get a replacement or get another alternative you better be right yeah you better be right it was a little just make matters even worse for you there but look I commend what they're doing and I think if you're a giant fan you have to like this too uh this is the big blue big blue report brought to you by King's Hawaiian I enjoy a good King's Hawaiian like a little sweet roll there who and you know you don't have to be Hawaiian either to enjoy it no you don't discriminate no you don't although do you know that the first time I ever had them was in Hawaii around a I think me I think myself also we made sliders my my in laws 60th anniversary 50th anniversary

and we collue a pork slider maybe no no no their first date was at a white castle so we made sliders on the grill can I tell you something did you see this thing it popped up on the old timeline I think the other day a Logan airport up there and uh Massachusetts I'll be there Saturday I'll be the for a Thursday and Saturday white castle vending machine see now I just have to see it I but I would never stand by I mean in person I I will need to know what terminal and what gate that's located at the the the May it's got like the the tricked out like it's almost like a computer screen right here you go right that's fine here's the thing would you feel comfortable no no I wouldn't no no how could you possibly do that like to me if I see you over at the white castle vending machine at the airport immediately I'm walking up to you when I'm asking

excuse me where are you flying yeah it's and what is your seat number and am I then changing my flight potentially if you feel confident enough in your particular digestive system to go on an airplane after having consumed I don't know of four pack of white castles I got to make sure that I am doing everything I can to get out of that situation do I not you you immediately want to know where that guy is if you can't go up and talk to him you are following him where is he going he better not be going to gate a six he better not be getting on this flight to Vegas no no no and might be in the little too harsh that like part of the screening and security protocol that you have to go through to get out of the ship you just had white cast no no no no you should fill out a like a four minute and what was the last thing you wait and when yeah well I don't think that's I don't think that's out of bounds Joe Fortenbach who we're going to have on Thursdays yeah will not

have anything to drink for at least three hours before getting on an airplane so that he does not have to go into the bathroom at all well not even you're in eight in the bathroom on the plane no matter how long the flight has is swears he has never done it I I would think that it happened at one point that scarred him but swears he has never done remind me we need to talk about this with Joe at ten forty five on Thursday see normally you think that if you you know drink something you maybe take care of that before you get on the plane like is I mean that's generally speaking of something that's funny that but he he will not drink anything he's not afraid to have a relationship or not concerned in the least even if he's on a long flight I don't know what the longest flight he's ever been on has been I mean I know he's gone coast to coast obviously I don't know what the longest flight he's ever been on we can ask like a trip to Hawaii for like a Don Ho festival like no liquid coming home from that trip to Hawaii wife and I had a layover in San

Francisco okay had dinner it's good two and a half hour layover at the airport at the airport sit down restaurant look fine not fine not fine big fella vomiting in an airplane bathroom no yeah what was it don't tell me it was a burger oh it wasn't like sushi or so no it was Dan it was like a normal sit down restaurant that looked fine it looked clean it looked it was not is it a chain no no no no and the burger itself came over you like it looks like a good burger golden gate dining or something like that listen I again I present certain challenges to those that I end up inadvertently traveling with and I try to be as respectful as possible if you realize that you're going to be sitting next to me on a plane you're coming down the aisle you look down it says 20 B and oh he's in 20 C yeah I know what you're in for and I try to be as respectful

of that as possible so yeah I might need to go to the bathroom just for number one but I'm going to make sure I'm not into any kind of a position in any place that I'm going to make this and even more unpleasant experience for you outside of my size which by the way I shrunk quite a bit I don't think it'll be as bad but I always pride myself on being a very conscientious traveler for anybody who has to fly in my vicinity I think the general so yes the point is when I had that burger yeah it was after a six hour flight it was getting on another six hour flight and it was in the evening at what appeared to be a well-established airport restaurant and there were three separate trips to continue the vomiting and my wife and you know how loud it gets on a plane I was probably five rows back into coach something like that economy plus if you will

extra legroom I called it extra fat room but yeah could hear me even with the engines going could hear me are you a are you a a loud vomiter in this particular instance I was I would say generally speaking no but but that's really not something you could do discreetly either you know what I mean no you can't discreetly vomit no I don't think the world's best let's put that on the pole can you discreetly vomit yes or no I don't say in New York YouTube channel the world's best burglar could could vomit discreetly I don't know I don't know you know the Howard Sternsville Jeff the vomit guy you're gonna tell me he can't vomit discreet I don't know anyway but here's my point it was the least enjoyable experience of my life ever that Tom when you put the podcast up later today does it

read something like giants conversation leads to vomit talk yeah so I was writing I mean we do you ask this so that we do need to and I haven't looked lately so I apologize if it has happened yeah but the podcast of course available for the show wherever you get your podcast absolutely you podcast titles need to be more creative oh you want more creative I don't know what it's been lately again if you've made the more creative great as opposed to hour two oh let me click on that I've I've got to get that oh you said no not hour two you mean this is subject to the review yeah standard is hour two dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot dot for me right now that the title of this hour is can you discreetly vomit fair unfair um yeah see here's the thing I don't know is that something that's gonna rope people in necessarily I it's intriguing you know

people like oh that's something I got a chime in it it's certainly alarming giants wide receiver nah Yankees pursue the A. L. East nah discreetly vomiting that's in my wheelhouse have you ever vomited some place that really made it just an on where you ever in and in such an untenable situation that you were not going to make it back to a home base situation for vomiting knock on wood no but the other end potentially yeah I'm sure that happened yeah yeah oh yeah yeah yeah yeah absolutely I never had that happen on an airplane or anything like that I never really I've been fortunate that hasn't really happened out on the road you ever been duct taped on a plane before you were no see do you see the guy in the I didn't see that guy who was duct taped on a plane I'm just pick how do you have all that duct tape on a plane by the way yeah just right saying around I I would think that that's that in the slide and it probably do have that's like around in case because there are people that that cause major issues no I think I the knowing the airlines they probably have that

handy like no that's what I'm saying just in case something goes wrong with the plane I will just duct tape that bad boy mid flight spirit I mean if it's spirits all options are on the table you know but spirits out of business I was on a red eye once and I'm looking at the the part right in front in front of me like flapping up and I'm like that can't be good but it was a red eye everybody was a sweet the flapping was keeping me up though vomit noise was the least of your concerns then I like the Dave story when Dave talks about being on a plane that looked like it was going down him and Nuno to Shara who yeah text Shara who produces on sportsman like on ESPN radio we're traveling for work when Nuno worked here and they flew somewhere and the giants had a horrible loss that day was a Sunday night and Dave said something like if this is how I die off that giant's loss I'm gonna be really disappointed he can't even you can't even rest your laurels on a good win you know what I mean at least I went out off that kind of magical win for 14 on third down

this is what I'm going down on anyway back to the giants as we were saying here's the other thing too um Beckham better be able to contribute this this my my biggest concern about all of this mm-hmm about the cutting of slate now is not about Beckham and what he can do now it's about Beckham and what he looks like in week eight well here's the thing are we falling are are we falling into a trap a little bit then now maybe we're sort of expecting more from him yeah maybe we should that's what I think like like certain fans are going to eat this up right they're going to think this is the greatest thing in the world everybody's still think they can bring in their Beckham jersey back out of the closet he's got number 13 again now but now you're thinking about a guy who might actually be getting more snaps getting more targets than you ever thought in your wildest dreams could happen but is that really something that is in the betterment of the ball club moving forward no I'm not so sure I don't think it is um he hasn't played in a couple of years not just one year a couple of years it's been that law so why would I think that he's going to walk in the door

and immediately make a major contribution to what we're doing here you shouldn't when he just I mean that I don't know based on the fact that they just cut slate and I don't know that Beckham wasn't making the team anyway if Austin doesn't get hurt but at the very least there was that possibility and now I'm relying on him now I'm relying on him I mean to play a bigger role at the very least because I've got a rookie in Malachi fields who they love but he's still a rookie but he looks legit I mean again but he is a rookie you're right yeah but he looks like he could be a find as they like they could be a find but what am I don't know mooney I mean I'm looking at neighbors who's just coming back mooney Beckham and who did I just say uh Malik neighbors no neighbors mooney Beckham Malachi fields and then Braxton Barrio soft the practice squad and how many I mean how many years removed are we from mooney being a thousand yard guy what was that with Atlanta once you know whatever it was it's at least two three guys excuse me one of the two with naggy yeah

that's the ways here uh one of the two but feels like a couple of years at least I put it this way when they went out and signed darn Elmooney I didn't go out and think oh we're good gotta get the jersey yeah 2021 was that thousand yard year darn Elmooney since hasn't had more than 64 catches he had 992 in 2024 64 for 992 with Atlanta I see like this is this is a concern it's it's a concern but also like we sit here and we can be moaned the wide receiver room or what it could be or what it might be might not be but then in the next breath you're like oh yeah Isaiah likely he's gonna have a big year for you what we think that's it but that he's never been a number one never been a number one move I'm not expecting to be the leading receiver that's still going to be Malik neighbors but you talk about guys that can't go down Isaiah likely I absolutely cannot go down no you know that's a security blanket for mr. dark when you are keeping somebody like Patrick record around it kind

of intensifies what the needs are out of your other skill position people because Patrick card in some ways is a luxury mm-hmm purely there to block that's it so if I'm gonna keep someone like that then every other skill guy then has to be a major factor here for you gotta go above and beyond absolutely because you're reading you're talking about a guy who like you said is not gonna be somebody running the ball not gonna be somebody catching the ball he's taking up a valuable roster spot for you which in today's day and age you know this the fullback is like a dinosaur that was the big blue report brought to you by King's Hawaiian King's Hawaiian the best slider in football e-light does the King's Hawaiian stuff right I think it does yeah I mean King's like that sweet roll sweet roll that that'll that'll hit you that that's top notch right and you go to some stores they have them like right there at the deli counter like right in front of that glass casing world of me as can launch me to yeah you go to a restaurant mm-hmm you more likely these days to order a

full burger and fries or the three sliders as the appetizer as your meat it's interesting I have started to shift one way and it is away from the primary burger and over to the sliders need to be available need right it's when available you need to tell me what the options are with the slider so like a nice slider though yeah I'm not gonna be grudges who doesn't who doesn't pork anything little burger action slider good I'm a little smash burger doubt everybody's making smash burger yeah I'm not talking about the store smash burger everybody's making smash burgers I'm a little all right I feel like you're 15 minutes are up you know we can we can do something else now you know what I had yesterday I got drunk I got intoxicated last night with protein you know what I had what not one not two not three four homemade bison empanadas wow about that bison empanadas tasty

never had an empanada really not once not one not one I mean the the the options to meet pocket with stuff just meet pocket you go normally we do like the pulled chicken but I said you know what I had the bison ones ones over at the jets well gaming fantastic no fantastic couldn't couldn't put them down if going up for seconds thirds forth I said you know we got to get the bison what made the bison yes all what's the deer what's the the deer venison venison had that little gaming that I've not had venison actually I didn't watertown New York never again real two gaming little two game was it a watertown native no no you don't know that I don't believe it was okay but it's way the hell up there in upstate New York but they were selling it the ball I'm sure they had deer up there no oh they had deer that's what I'm saying it could have been a native yeah maybe it was maybe somebody's out back with an bow and arrow yeah before the game now fresh freshly caught so we had the bison empanadas followed by some um uh flank steak oh like I said you did have a protein could sleep last night with all that protein back up now I'm good all right fantastic

it's carlin it's grassy ESPN New York ESPN New York YouTube channel 800 919 3776 800 919 ESPN we're we're going back we're going back we're we're bringing it back love it the name of the game is beat the fat man oh baby and normally you get your opportunity to do this this this game and today Dan's going to get his crack uh how this goes is tv trivia 80s 90s or as I found out they were just called the aughts which is apparently 2000 to 2009 three questions we go head to head and then if we're tied at the end of it we have a tie breaker question we will both get the same three questions and I will be stepping out into a hermetically sealed conference room who's coming

up with the questions by the way that's Tom Bauer Thomas Joseph Bauer here's a very intent process of coming up with the questions because last night we're on the phone and I said here's what you do Google 80s 90s 2000s TV trivia that's your intricate process right there let's see here's the thing he could have googled it too I didn't what you didn't you'll need to thanks for listening to the Chris Carlin podcast I want my enemies to burn and hell catch the show on demand whenever you want just subscribe to us wherever you get your podcasts do we have the old imaging for this in it beat the fat man is the longest running trivia show on ESPN New York you got more TV knowledge than Chris Carlin shut the hell up get it low prove it maybe you could participate in the beat carl it's like call in now to beat the fat man how much do you weigh I'm about 220 fat and your name it's your

take a hike I didn't even remember that I like the music because it's right out of that it is it's right out of that window so the music was the only thing I was able to find from the old days if there was an old intro or production for is this American gladiators that I wouldn't know that's a good trivia question though generic unlicensed music I would think so I would think so just like an old 80s Nintendo game music all right so here's the deal it's Dan and I going head to head this is something that in some weeks it will be a chance for the caller to come in yeah and do it but the premise is this three questions television trivia last 40 years head to head I will get up leave the room not here with the first what the questions are and then somebody will you know ask Dan the questions we'll see how he does don't tell me anything don't tell me how you did I don't want to know nothing so he's the only one that's leaving the room that is correct yeah

what do you do during the absence you go do you get a burger or something what do you do I'm just I'm going across the hall like looking out the window I might be calling my agency there see anyway uh here it is this is this is beat the Batman so uh we'll see if uh James Rossi who is by the way I feel socially everything else I feel so vulnerable right now he's literally like unear piecing and just like up and leaving the studio he should be a long comfortable that's it Chris currently needs to get the hell out of my studio right now so this is three questions yeah this is three questions one from the 80s one from the 90s one from the 2000s I am putting now on the screen video evidence of cardling leaving the studio yep so that way nobody thinks there's any funny business going on here now Tom so so am I going to know right off the bat like if I'm correct or incorrect with any of these questions yes okay we are going to go through that um so I will tell you if you're correct or incorrect in these questions as we go along again one from the 80s one from the 90s one from the 2000s hopefully I made these challenging enough to wear somebody get

stripped up along the way and it's not too easy to where we finish this in two minutes and then I look like you don't want this to be too difficult either no you know but I'm okay with it being too difficult because as you know from some of my uh calls I used to take for Stump Brothenberg when you filled in I can uh allow a lot of unwanted calls let's say they're difficult right all right let's do it just grabbing the old laptop here to make sure I got my questions you don't have a laptop Joe what is he doing I got it right here don't you worry I was just putting in a better view question number one are these questions you can't look up on the company a computer that's why you need the laptop are these gonna be like racy questions no no no no no I don't I don't know beat the fat man would only have one segment if we did that I'd be beating other things yeah let's not do that uh question thank you uh joe lio question number one from the 80s dan grassa which sitcom featured featured one of the characters saying in every episode they appeared in

hi I'm Larry this is my brother Darrell and this is my other brother Darrell huh I'm Larry there's my brother Darrell there's my other brother Darrell that we called uh new heart there Tom Bauer you bet you know you're you know what it is I can already see this might be too easy not that too easy that's a good question yeah I didn't live in the 80s so I wouldn't know most kids my age wouldn't know that I that wasn't like I wasn't a you know a teenager when new heart was on it just remembered you know like his new heart was always on right before like Monday night football on a different network though hmm well I'm glad you remembered that let's see if you know this one yeah question number two is from the 1990s which show popularized the following phrase the truth is out there I don't know if that's that's I mean that seems very generic to me I don't think I'm like I don't know if that's like as distinctive enough to be a catch phrase for a show for my research I say yes the truth is out there the truth is out there which show popularized the

following phrase the truth is out there the x files I don't know you know what you took a guess and you were right get the hell out of here you got it you never watch one episode and yeah you got it immediately oh he's got no chance if I'm pulling those out of my you know what no the fat man I didn't even make an appointment I'm getting checked out the fat man has no chance today I don't think you're gonna go to a no in these segments all right I got one more from the 2000 and truth be told by the way like I said if this ever got into like the you know the 2010s and on yes when like streaming shows have become like or direct to streaming it become like the main viewing I'd have no idea see that might have to be a tiebreaker category streaming category at some point but I would like I said I'd I'd have not I don't have time to watch these shows yes I don't have the time either which is why we're sticking to 80s 90s in 2000 yeah but I got one more from the 2000s for you are you ready yeah I hope you're a fan of two and a half men because I have a question from that never watch one episode well then you might be in for a rough time here on two and a half

men who portrays Judith's second husband herb melmick I don't even know who Judith is I didn't know she was married I don't know if she was into guys or not I didn't know she was married twice and his name is herb melmick oh that's right so you're asking the the what's the actors name yes who is the actors name that per for trays I can give you a hint but I don't know if that beats a purpose of the game or not what's the hint oh you want the hint I'd love the hints since I don't I'll take all the help I can get yeah you know I do want to see you be Chris or I will give it to you he started in two well-known shows that began in the 90s I'm two and a half men who portrays Judith's second husband herb melmick was he was he on the show a lot or not really I'm two and a half men yeah I think he appeared in like 30 episodes total that's a lot of episodes that's a lot of episodes um no an actor I will say at least starting two

shows yeah well let's let's think two shows in the 90s he starred in I'm gonna give you 10 seconds to think here on two and a half men who portrays Judith's second husband herb melmick five four three two one no idea that's unfortunate the answer there is Ryan Stiles the one who was on the uh Drew Carrey show and the the improv show whose line is it anyway I would not have known that in five million guesses see now I'm happy because I'm but you said enough for nothing like you said like Ryan Stiles is always one of those guys and that's show like who whose line is it anyway he's he was like if you were around at that time like and you watch TV like you knew his face like you knew his person yes hang out but is he a guy

you know I'm saying like that if he goes like can he go out for an ice cream yes he's gonna get like recognized by somebody I would know what I'm saying I would hope so but let's see if Chris Carlin ends up knowing that guy no you know I'm really but that's I always wondered about like him specifically I'm like how like famous is he really hmm well turn turn the mic on turn the mic on yeah he's sitting down hang on give him a second I'm like you're prepping for surgery by the way he's got to put the IFB in it feels like just got yeah basically about five minutes no no no there was a lot of dialogue you can ask Joe Joe there was a lot of dialogue it's not like I said they're in dilly dallyed right we had we had a conversation going to one question I'll admit I pulled that I went so far up my you know what the answer not I'm not telling you I'm not giving you so far up for the answer that I flossed on the way out that's how far up I'm well you know he got one right and I will just tell you that much everything else will be up to complete I got to right lock that's the point I don't want to know I just say we're not gonna say how much we're gonna

get around it Tom I'm watching the tennis all right my let's more what's more important the return to beat the fat man the longest running trivia segment on ESPN New York I'm a big fan of the game don't get me wrong I feel a part of the game the big foe big foe all right now he's talking tennis all right all right Chris we're gonna start off in the 80s which sitcom featured one of the characters saying in every episode they appeared in hi I'm Larry this is my brother Darryl and this is my other brother Darryl that's new heart bingo new that okay yeah they might be screwed here from the 90s number two greatest television ending yes of all time really that's the greatest television ending and I'm thrilled by the sopranos more no listen don't don't doesn't have philosophical discussions in the middle of me don't work it probably like the only two people that knew it were the two people acting that ending yes that that was gonna be the end exactly no I think that's true even the crew because the lights were out yes yeah I think that's true question

number two from the 90s which show popularize the following phrase the truth is out there that's bingo for the record that's one damn pull out as you know what pulled it out of there you had to go deep for that never watch one episode either do I I knew that I didn't know that well let's see if you know this one it was either gonna be that a run-solved mysteries I was gonna guess or something like that well I'm glad you went x-files because this makes this more intriguing from the 2000s on two and a half men who portrays Judith's second husband herb melwood oh he got it styles styles who no his last name is styles yes I think if I got his last name you got it I mean you got it but we're just going for a military he'd be identified yeah I forget his first name but it's styles it is style it is Ryan styles three for three are you not entertained oh my god that's a good win well it's really not because frankly that's here here's why you know you're gonna be

in trouble I've never watched an episode of two and a half men either not once but I didn't know that and I knew that so when you walked into the studio that was the conversation I was having about Ryan styles like what Ryan styles to me is always that guy because I don't really watch like who wants to know anyway right but he was like on TV a lot so it's like that how recognizable is he out in public oh Ryan styles is recognizable first of all he's very tall yeah which is gonna work to his advantage but you would you wouldn't if you're someone like me yeah you'd be like hey and it take me a second to come up with the Ryan Ryan styles you you do that if you're somebody else you know he is one of these people who gets this a lot you're that guy from that thing from the thing I love you on that thing all right I love you on that hot new restaurant opens oh I mean like everybody the bees knees everybody's there can't get a table for weeks Ryan styles walks in once a table on a Friday night but we're so is Ryan styles getting a table I mean what are we talking

about hot new restaurant in New York City yeah I'm not talking about like Albuquerque New Mexico I'm talking like he's probably waiting for LA you want to they you know I don't know that Ryan styles is getting into Madison Square Garden for game four pretty cook got into Madison Square Garden on the VIP list for game four let's rethink that but people might know who Brady cook is more than Ryan style I'm named I disagree well the name or the or the the facial recognition to people like if you like I'm Brady cook and you're like I've never seen what would it say then on the celebrity sheet that guy the Ryan styles Drew Carrey show no say actor yes comedian yes look I saw that sheet there was so called actors in this and I never heard of in my okay all I know is they moved airing judge upstairs for Pete say one sodo and Francisco and or upstairs yeah I think that's where they put I mean it's the garden they have a lot of those sweets up there and that's where they put a lot of those people well listen if that's gonna be what you come at me with there's not gonna be much of a challenge here okay I was not here's why I was glad about the

third question because I didn't know like which direction the game was gonna go the first two were name the show and then the third one was actually like name someone in the show yeah you know we need to sprinkle an in and so which what what you got the first two right correct yeah I didn't know the Ryan styles one I knew new heart oh absolutely I mean I acted out the the line when he asked it with the southern twang or whatever for a hi I'm Larry there are mother there yeah there were these three woodsman yeah they literally like lived in the woods and the other two guys did that's what he said in the final episode wakes up for Bob Newark wakes up from his dream from the Bob New Heart show there were there were these three woodsmen thanks for listening to the Chris Carlin podcast I want my enemies to burn and hell catch the show on demand whenever you want just subscribe to us wherever you get your podcasts dpator Rothenberg dot-honon Rosenberg now officially on msg networks starting today you can catch

bit about the jets but it is amazing that you can sit here in week one and understand what the importance of winning this game is already when you look at what you're trying to do this year and the amount of times that you have to have games like this where you say we should be able to get this one I don't expect them to go six and oh in these games by the way and I'm counting these games is to be clear Tennessee Miami twice Vegas Arizona Cleveland and Cleveland is that that's five and Tennessee and Tennessee in this game yeah and as I said the dolphins twice if I didn't say that um point being simply though is this is one that you have to get to start because it's one of the ones on the schedule that you would look at and say yeah and you got to go five and one in those games at least and look I mean the jets if you just like size it up on paper

you know the jets have an edge over Tennessee you know in a lot of a lot of areas um and I think that any jet fan certainly who was here and saw how long it took for Rob Salah to put his print on this even the defense which they had playing at a pretty high level after a couple of years once they upgraded the personnel and so on and so forth that's not going to happen overnight in Tennessee and that news that came out yesterday afternoon you know the late afternoon labor day kind of team press release that's said your gray news like that's somewhat significant for those that missed it said your gray who is Tennessee's align backer leading tackler last year he was fifth in the NFL and tackles last season suffered an ATV accident over the weekend uh where they made it known that you know there was no alcohol involved nothing like that but nevertheless he's in the concussion protocol and that to try to get out of during a game week which is now we are firmly in the middle of a game week is asking a lot to be able to be cleared to go play on Sunday if they're without him on a defense by the way which is now still trying to grasp this new system you know that there's

going to be some hurdles not having your surest tackler from a year ago that's a big loss for them it really and truly as if he doesn't play well this is a kind of a game where um I understand what Salah has done up front this is where I want to see the offensive line start to have what the real promise of it has been which is supposed to be a very good offensive line and that to mean means haul having a good game and it means that offensive line getting to that second level and hopefully running into whoever the backup is and and continuing to give haul the chance to be a really productive back and she has been and given Geno the opportunity to go out there and you know pick that defensive part and and give me a line that you would hope for for Geno this week um doesn't have to be completions just percentage and go from there I mean mistake free football is you know the surest way first and foremost to go out there and show me well you know remember

the guy who's thrown how many interceptions over the last 30 to exactly I'm trying to pull up because people forget about this last season remember when he was with the Raiders and we know that the Raiders had a a a a horrible horrible season um he went to Foxboro last year he and the Raiders and beat the Patriots in week one you know what Geno stat line was week one 2434 which is 70% completions 362 yards I think any Jeff then will sign up for that on Sunday if you tell me he's gonna throw 360 yards and complete 70% of his passes um I'm not saying he's gonna do that go out to two 52 touchdowns or two 50 a touchdown and 70% of completions just no interception I'll take 220 I'll take two you know I mean if you're gonna give me two touchdowns and no picks no turnovers I think that that's gonna put the jets in a good position to win this game because I think this defense is gonna get after Tennessee on Sunday Titans offensive line no bueno JC lathe was the first round pick one of them tackles from Alabama a

couple years ago yeah he has not distinguished himself in any way she was a good guard but again he was supposed to be a tackle right coming out of northwestern correct turned into a much better guard so they can feast on that offensive line I think and they are gonna be disruptive and you talk about cammore cammore it was a guy who last year was dead last in the NFL in terms of yards per attempt which means you're not pushing the ball down the field now some of that was scheme related because guys that I talked to there were a part of that team last year said that the previous coaching staff which was the the Callahan regime they just wanted him to bang get the ball out get the ball out get the ball out that's not his strengths the question is now that Brian Davies running the offense there in Tennessee are they going to play to his strengths and let him push the ball down the field remember Davies the guy that wanted cammore right before the draft last year and from all accounts cam even got into it a little bit with a reporter recently about having a not great training camp Jared Stilman that was a reporter yeah do you hear what happened to him

no oh he got his he got his thing he got his credentials pulled do you want him on the show by the way I I know you do oh yeah see in New York I know he's a Tennessee guy I went on his show last year okay when when the when it was December January whenever it was when there was rumors that the Titans were interested in Salah he hit me up out of the blue and I went on the show to talk about Salah and you know whether or not he'd be a good coach and so on and so forth from what we saw here with the jets but yeah they pulled his credentials and that's the other thing too like it seems like the Titans have more drama and stuff hovering around this game in the start of the season that has nothing to do with actual football it's pulling a media person's credentials it's one of your guys getting into an ATV accident the week of the first game of the season. What are they thinking are the jets I mean go on what are we doing Salah picking up where you left off I mean you know what I mean like you can't make it up well look it's a game they have to have and it's amazing that we have to say that in week one but you do when you look at how this is supposed to play out thanks for listening to the Chris
