Hour 1 - Trump Jujutsu on Iran

About this episode

Hour 1 of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show sets an upbeat and fast‑paced tone, driven by breaking geopolitical news, surging markets, and spirited political debate. Clay and Buck open the hour reflecting on their appearance the night before at a charity event at Mar‑a‑Lago that raised more than $1.3 million to support law enforcement, framing the day as both successful and optimistic before shifting into major global developments involving Iran.

The dominant focus of Hour 1 is President Donald Trump’s latest statements on Iran, the Strait of Hormuz, and global energy markets. Clay and Buck walk through Trump’s early‑morning announcements indicating that the Strait of Hormuz is effectively open for international shipping while remaining closed to Iranian oil exports until negotiations are finalized. As a result, oil prices fall sharply—down roughly $10 per barrel—and stock markets surge, with the Dow and S&P 500 climbing toward record highs. The hosts argue that earlier predictions of economic collapse and World War III were again proven wrong as markets stabilize and energy prices retreat.

Clay lays out what he characterizes as a near‑total U.S. victory over Iran, citing Trump’s claims that Tehran has agreed to give up its enriched nuclear material and accept an inspection regime. Buck, who describes himself as historically cautious due to past Middle East failures, credits Trump’s deal‑making approach—treating geopolitics like a business negotiation—as potentially the most effective foreign‑policy maneuver of his lifetime if Iran fully complies. Both hosts emphasize the strategic brilliance of reversing Iran’s leverage in the Strait of Hormuz, blocking Iranian exports while keeping global trade flowing.

The discussion also expands to Israel, Hezbollah, and Lebanon. Clay notes Trump’s explicit statements that Israel will not strike Lebanon and that the administration is pressing for regional stability rather than escalation. The hosts push back against claims that Trump is acting at Israel’s direction, arguing instead that the U.S. is dictating terms and shaping outcomes across the region. They compare this approach favorably to past administrations’ handling of North Korea and Middle East conflicts, suggesting Trump has achieved what others failed to do with far fewer human and economic costs.

Midway through the hour, the tone shifts to domestic politics with a lighter, humorous thread centered on the long‑running “steak bet” between Clay and Buck over whether Kamala Harris will run for president in 2028. The hosts revisit Harris’s recent comments suggesting she “might” run and debate the future of the Democratic nomination. Clay argues Harris is likely to run and could even win the nomination depending on how the Democratic primary calendar is structured, particularly if Southern states lead off. Buck remains skeptical, predicting Harris will ultimately lose but acknowledging she occupies a key identity‑politics lane within the Democrat Party. The conversation broadens into a critique of Gavin Newsom’s book launch, bulk book purchases by political PACs, and how Democrats manufacture momentum ahead of presidential runs.

As the hour closes, Clay and Buck return to the broader theme of optimism, pointing to falling gas prices, strong markets, and global de‑escalation as evidence that Trump’s strategy is working. Buck openly concedes that Clay’s early confidence in the Iran strategy appears, for now, to be validated. The hosts wrap Hour 1 reinforcing a key message: restraint combined with leverage has delivered tangible results, and the political and economic outlook heading into the weekend appears markedly strong.

We're both in South Florida, although in different studios, Buck is at his home studio. I got to fly out of Palm Beach here in a little bit because we were in Mar-a-Lago last night helping to MC a charity event that raised Buck. I was told over $1.3 million to back the blue. So you and I donated our time and effort and energy and thankfully that went really, really well. So it was about 500 or so of you that were at that event at the Mar-a-Lago ballroom. Really well done event and we were happy to be a part of that yesterday. So we know that money is going to go to be very helpful going forward and it was great to be a part of that. Now as if that were not enough, there is all sorts of awesomeness that is going on right now in the in the Iran ecosystem and everything connected to it.

President Trump this morning began to post a long series of great statements here that were pretty fantastic and would suggest that there may be very good news coming sooner rather than later among them, Buck, that the straight of four moves is basically going to be wide open. The price of oil and gas dropped $10 this morning early right now as I am talking to all of you, that price $81 per barrel to kind of put that into context when this war started with Iran, it was just $68. So effectively much of the price run up almost overnight in oil and gas has vanished. That would mean and I know you all understand this and how frustrating it is. It's amazing how quickly oil and gas prices can go up and how long it takes them to come down, but the price of oil and gas should be declining rather precipitously in the short

term as we move into the rest of April and into early May. So everyone who told you that this was going to be some sort of economic cataclysm wrong yet again stock market up nearly the Dow a thousand points to near and all time record high on the Dow, the S&P 500 has surged and continued to set yet more record stocks have never been more valuable if you have 401 K's or you have individual stocks or whatever investment you might have in the stock market. And Trump is saying that Iran has agreed to give up the so called nuclear dust and allow that to be returned to the United States. Basically what Trump has put out there is nothing less than total and complete unequivocal victory. Buck, I will bring you in. I will say just in general that it is worth noting that there likely will be a couple

of ups and downs, some potential hair, you know, interesting and and quirk screw moments in this, but it appears based on what president Trump has put out and Iran to their credit said that the state of war moves was open that the minds have been removed. Basically the World War three, the economy is going to collapse people and they are who you know they they are. There are a lot of them, you want wrong yet again and we seem to be in a very optimistic space. What did you think as you saw this news coming down this morning, Buck? Look, if this continues as it is and I'm very upfront about this too, I was only really trusting in Trump on this to the degree because there's been so many just debacles and failures of previous administrations, the Middle East and Iraq and Afghanistan and Syria and they just they we're like the from the leadership side, from the White House side, we're the

gang that can't shoot straight and we just were screwing everything up. Bush administration, disaster Obama administration, disaster, Biden's obviously an imbecile and we can't figure this out, right? And then Trump comes along and treats it like a business transaction, what do they have? What do I have? How do I pressure them? Where do we have advantages? Where are they weak? And right now it looks like he is on the precipice of not just declaring a total victory, but actually having one you know it's one thing to say mission accomplished, but if they agree to a deal that gives us the right to inspect and takes all the nuclear material and all this other stuff, look we're not there yet, but I have to say this would be if it goes where Trump is saying it is right now, when he put out this on true social the straight of our moves is completely open and ready for business and full passage, but the naval blockade will remain in full force and effect is it pertained to Iran only until

such time is our transaction with Iran is 100% complete. This process should go very quickly in that most of the points are already negotiated. Thank you for your attention in this matter, President Donald J. Trump. If this is right, if this is right and this is where this is going, great, Trump will have pulled off the most impressive foreign policy maneuver of my lifetime. I don't know, I don't know what else would be in the same category of taking on an intractable and critical problem and being able to win where other administrations have failed and to do so with very minimal losses, every loss, every life we lose is a tragedy on our armed forces side, but you know, we're not, we're not even in the same stratosphere as what we saw in Iraq and Afghanistan casualties to bring this about I'm, I'm a little bit amazed that this has gone as far as it has in this way. There's a part of me that still holds out.

Let's see what the Iranians actually agree to. Trump is great at selling things, not necessarily finishing things. Let's see, let's wait, but the fact that they're going to, if it really is the case that Iran won't call his bluff and basically blow up an oil tanker, because that was always the concern. If they're unwilling to do that and we can blockade them without consequence, we win. Yes. I don't see, I don't see a way around that. They cannot sustain no oil leaving their ports. They cannot sustain that. Yes. And the blockade didn't even take very long. The price of oil and gas didn't go up very much when we announced the blockade. And again, as we are talking to you right now, the price of oil and gas down to $81 a barrel and you say, okay, how does that translate? Well, it was $68 when the war began back in February and you were paying around again. I always love it. You were paying around $3 a gallon for your gas nationwide on average.

I know those of you in California are screwed, but in an average, I would think you've already seen oil and gas prices basically stop going up. They are going to start to back up again. And I would think in early to mid May, you're going to be talking about $3.20 a gallon oil and gas at this point in time, which is pretty dog on cheap. And then again, people say, okay, what about during the summer driving season? It'll go up traditionally, it goes up a little bit. And then I think, and again, this is the midterm voting cycle coming up. I think by September and October, you're going to see sub $3 a gallon per average gas prices. So gas prices are going to come back to where they were. Maybe even come down a bit more because if all of these agreements are correct, then Iran's ability to curtail oil and gas production or oil and gas transit is even more eliminated. And there's a possibility buck that we're actually, I still find this to be maybe the

most difficult aspect of the of the negotiation is to actually get the so called nuclear dust into American possession. But I tweeted kind of a joke, but I could also see it happening that Trump just comes out to a press conference one day, one day, and he's got all of the Iranian nuclear elements, the nuclear dust, sort of a raid in in front of him like they have done in the past. And he just says, Hey, unlike with the weapons of mass destruction, here was Iran's attempt. And we have now seized it and it is in US possession. And I don't see how you could talk. If all this ends up happening, how this is anything other than a complete and total victory. I'll open up phone lines 800 to a two to a two now. Some people are going to say, well, there wasn't regime change, but I think it's fair to say if Iran is negotiating to give the United States what Trump has said that they are giving.

That's a pretty significant change in the regime and what they are willing to do or able to do compared to what the Ayatollah had done for 40 some odd years. So it may be the case that they're still religious fundamentalists, ostensibly in charge of Iran, but they have been neutered on an epic scale. If they are basically willing to agree with everything out there. Trump took their key leverage point and this is the the Trump jiu jitsu that I didn't see coming quite honestly. And he just said, Oh, you're going to shut down the straight. No, we're going to shut down the straight for you. I had not even was this even being discussed before Trump came along as something to do with Iran. I suggested it. It's brilliant. I'm just going to admit that this is brilliant. People ripped me to shreds when I suggested it on social media last week, but the reason why he had to do it buck was because everybody in the media was saying, Iran controls the

straight and you and I pointed out, well, do terrorists control things? I mean, they're threatening to I said they took it hostage and Trump, they took the straight hostage. They didn't control it. But if you're not willing to shoot the hostage, you're not really a hostage taker, right? And Trump said, I don't think you'll do it. And that was the part where I got to say I was surprised they wouldn't do it. And as a result, again, the economy is soaring. All the people that told you World War three was coming or that you're going to be paying eight dollars a gallon for gas and the economy was going to collapse and all these things. They were wrong again. And I do think at some point in time, if you're listening to some of these people, you have to sit back and say, wait a minute, are they ever right? That they are constantly telling me that catastrophe is going to be flawless. And we should also mention out, by the way, that Trump said, hey, Israel is not going to be attacking Lebanon. Why is that significant? I mean, it was always obvious to you and me and anybody with a functional brain. But one of the criticisms during this Iran maneuver was, oh, Trump is only doing this

because of Israel and they control him, which is funny only because to me, they've been trying to tell you that Trump was a Nazi that he was modern day Hitler for the last decade. And now suddenly he's such a great ally of Israel that he can't even make his own decisions. The reality is, Israel is a country of nine or 10 million people. We are the straw that stirs the drink of basically anything going on in the larger economic situation. Trump was not being led by Israel and being told what to do. And now he is basically letting it be known that Israel is not to strike Lebanon and that he wants to bring peace to Israel and Lebanon. He just had Marco Rubio meeting with them at the White House. So again, there's still some details to be ironed out. We still have to see exactly how it plays out. I've sent it from the get go. The traffic through the state straight of four moves and when we start seeing 20, 30, 40 ships going through comfortably, you will recognize that things are a hundred percent back to normal.

But things are pretty close to be back to normal except we have neutered the Iranian regime. And we did to Iran, it appears, Buck, what Bill Clinton should have done to North Korea back in the 90s. Between this and Venezuela and I don't think anyone's looking at Cuba now and assuming Trump doesn't have something up his sleeve for that too, he could be the most transformational foreign policy president of our lifetime. In a good way, not an A creating catastrophe and quagmires and mess, the opposite fixing problems that other administrations were completely incapable of addressing and understanding. So I hope this continues. You know me. I'm cautious. But now I'm cautiously optimistic. Before I go on the optimism train, you, I mean, given what's going on right now, you have to be optimistic. I mean, I think the deal, I think the Iranians are going to start to, you know, wriggle on the, on the hook, if you will, about the deal and that's going to continue and there's

going to be an extension of, but if we can blockade them and that's just the situation, their bank accounts are going to run dry and that government is going to be in a world of hurt and they don't have any option. There's nothing they can do. We will continue to update you on this. Indyfilm really got John Favreau and Vince Vaughn's careers going. But anyway, Vince Vaughn, I believe, is a right of centerfellows. So that's always right. I think that's correct. So Trump was in Vegas and he just laid this out. This is cut to. He's talking about the Iran War situation. And here's what he just basically says. This is like a perfect position for us to be in. Play it. I will say the war in Iran is going along swimmingly. We can do whatever we want. And it should be it should be ending pretty soon. It was perfect. I mean, it's perfect. It was the power we have, our military. We have the most powerful military anywhere in the world. I built it four years. I first four years at this point. Trump is known for a little bit of braggadocio, bravado.

Perhaps a little overselling sometimes. But from what he's from what we're seeing right now, I think it all tracks. I think it lines up. He's found a way and how much of this is really clay. You think that the defanging of Iran, which Mark Rubio had been using that term. So their military is far less capable. And then saying we're controlling the straight. You're not controlling the straight. That one to punch may have been the key to unlocking the situation. Yeah. I think if Iran had not threatened, the craziest thing about this from my perspective buck all along was that Iran was continuing to load oil and gas and sell it even as we were bombing them. And we so we had allowed their oil and gas infrastructure to continue to exist and not only to exist for them to be making a lot of money. And one of the stories that again did not get a lot of attention is as soon as we block

a to the straight of poor moves. Iran doesn't have that much storage capacity for oil and gas. So if they can't get that oil and gas onto tankers and get it out of Iran, then they have to stop pumping. And so the entire Iranian economy would collapse very quickly within about 10 days if they couldn't sell oil and gas. And they only went about two or three days and then they really were begging for peace. So we'll see exactly the details, but it does seem pretty fantastic. The start of today so far. Play so far your optimism has been richly rewarded. I give you I give you full credit for your optimism. That is so far so good. So far so good. All right. There's peace today throughout Israel. A ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, though it's really Hezbollah does exist, but it's fragile. And anyone who's been in harm's way, yes, they have a moment to exhale here, but they're innocent people involved, lots of them. And there are many Israelis living in northern Israel who are still in a very difficult situation.

So our partners at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews have an opportunity now to provide support and much needed, much needed to things to the vulnerable with medicine, food and other essential supplies going to northern Israel, give $45 right now to rush life-saving essentials to vulnerable Israelis under fire, call 888-488-IFCJ, 888-488-IFCJ, or go online at ifcj.org, that's ifcj.org. Welcome back in, play Travis Bucks' sexton show. We are rolling through Friday edition, optimism edition, again, just to reiterate oil and gas down to $81, a barrel, $68 when the war began. So your oil and gas prices should be coming back down relatively short notice here. Dow and S&P 500, surging the Dow approaching an all-time record high up over a thousand

points today, S&P 500 setting yet another record high. And we've got a large variety of reactions pouring in. But Bucks, in addition to all the optimism, I think I teased this last week, we didn't even get to it. I'm already thinking about my spectacular, delectable, delicious steak. Kamala Harris is one of the fun. We don't have it. We don't have an Iran steak. Let's not get crazy here. We're talking Kamala now. Yeah. Kamala, I meant to play this. I don't even remember this come out. I think there's been so much news. I've had the guys rolling this over for multiple days. And I just wanted to make sure that I got it today, since it's such a celebratory day, I want all of you to think about how great that steak is going to taste. Do we have the audio of the initial bet on whether Kamala would run or not? If we can get that, I know producer Greg tracked that down a while ago. But all of the 2028 presidential contenders are traipsing through last Friday.

We're talking with Al Sharpton, which is the fact that Al Sharpton is a power broker in the Democrat party. He kind of tells you everything. But Kamala was directly asked whether she would run. And this is what she said. So are you going to run again in 28? So, okay, you know, I tried to be subtle, but I just figured I'd go right there. This is subtle. There's very many Al Sharpton could ever be. We love you for many things, but not being subtle. Listen, I might, I might, I'm thinking about it. Okay. Buck, have you altered your opinion because back in, what was this July of last year? July of last year, July of 25. This was what prompted the stake bet on Kamala.

Listen, do you believe that she will run in 2028 or do you think this is effectively Kamala Harris waving the proverbial white flag and letting it be known that she is no longer going to be involved in serious politics? You know what I've said all along, Clay. I am a firm believer in Kamala Harris is on her way to a chancellor's ship or some other quasi ceremonial overpaid role at a UC school, University of California school, or something like that. I actually disagree. I think she's going to run. I think she will run in 2028. stake bet. stake bet. Let me, let me, yes, stake bet on Kamala's future. All right, Buck, now you know what's going to be so, you know what's going to be so annoying about this? I just, I need to get what's going to be so annoying about this is he's like a, like a card sharpness guy.

You know what? He gets to be like mid-range. He's all fired up. My defense here. You're the one who threw out the stake bet. I didn't remember who had made this. I must have been in a mood. I must have been in a mood that day. That was crazy. Talk. No, but I'll say this. I'm going to be right. She will not win. She will not be the nominee. She has no chance whatsoever, and we'll end up at a UC school as a chancellor. I'm telling you, like they're going to put her in some or, or you know, some like women's foundation that's attached to UC San Diego, whatever, they'll find some perch for her. But you'll probably win the stake bet because I think she has nothing else going on because she has no kids and she has no family and she, you know, to that she's going to raise. And so like what else are you going to do? That's been my thesis all along. But I kind of say she's a joke and she's going to get smoked and Gavin Newsom is going to crush her, I think. But you don't agree with that either. You think she's going to, you think that she can beat the Newsom machine, which I will

say. Can I just have a moment here for you guys? So Gavin Newsom's book came out like a couple days after mine. And initially my book in release was absolutely smoking his book, like his book was a joke. And then Clay, all of a sudden, like a week after it had been out. It was number two of all books. But and the New York Times had the little dagger next to it, which means bulk buy. And now it has come out that one of Gavin Newsom's packs bought over a million dollars of his dumb ass memoir just to make it seem like someone was buying Gavin Newsom's book. It's like a self buy, basically. Like he's right there and had someone else pay for a million, pay for a million dollars worth of his books, and which is probably 30,000 copies, something like that. And no one's actually going to read this piece of trash. But it's clearly meant to get him ready for a presidential run. You got to have a book one point five million dollars, his pack spent.

I believe it was bucked to buy over 60,000 copies and they probably got a book, you know, they got a book. Yeah. But if you gave a dollar to Gavin Newsom, they gave you a book. That was the way that they set it up. So I think it was. And this is just so unfair too, because I got to sit back here. You were worried, Kamala was actually going to be Trump at one point during the 2020 election. You were worried. I was in my secret bunker and I'm like, Clay, not only is Kamala going to get smoked. She's going to Trump is going to win by more than he's ever won before. And somehow I didn't sucker you into a stake bet on that one. And I call came out totally, totally, he's just, he's a better poker player. He knows when to put the chips on the table with these things because we're, and also we're one for one on stake bets to be clear, one for one. And I think he's probably unfortunately about to go up to one. I mean, Kamala is so horrible, dude, she's so, but this thing I knew she was horrible in 24. She got absolutely smoked in every swing state. She's going to run again because she's going to be so much better up against Rubio or

Vance. I just don't see it. So I think that she is going to has a good chance to be the nominee. And I made this bet with, I was out to dinner with some of our mutual friends, uh, Alexa, I didn't even know what a double or nothing would be on this kind of a situation, but this is interesting. I don't know that I said, I don't know that I said this on the, uh, on the radio. We were out there six of us out to dinner in LA a couple of months ago. Um, I won't name all the guys, but you know a lot of the, a lot of media people. And I was the only one who thought that Kamala would be the nominee. And all five of them thought that I was crazy and bet me that she would not be the nominee. So I took on five, uh, every other member of our dinner party. They said she's not going to be the nominee. This is a story that I feel like I'm the only one talking about, but is going to be hugely impactful and it's going to come up very, very soon. Where is the Democrat primary season going to start?

Nobody just kind of didn't pay attention because Biden didn't have opposition. But Biden's team rigged it so that Iowa and New Hampshire came after South Carolina because nobody in Iowa and New Hampshire likes Biden. Every presidential campaign he's ever run, they've seen through him and they haven't supported him. He got crushed even in 2020 in those states. So in 2024, they slanted it so that South Carolina where Biden had James Clyburn support and was going to get all the black support started, okay? What state's going to be first in 28? Because if it's South Carolina, if it's Georgia, if it's Tennessee, if it's any of the Southern states, which have substantial black populations, Kamala's going to be the nominee. If it is Iowa or New Hampshire, largely white states that love mayor Pete. I mean, that's honestly, I would, I would put mayor Pete at the top of Iowa, New Hampshire, because they love the gay white guy storyline there. They black guys won't vote for mayor Pete and Gavin Newsom and also Buck, can they get

AOC to run? Can they get another black woman to try to kneecap Kamala? Because Kamala's black women support is huge and I think it could propel her to the nomination. Here's another crazy thing for you to think about Buck. What if Kamala went full Trump and said she wasn't going to debate, because people had already seen her debate and she could, she's already proven she could do the job. I don't think that's, I think you're an idea that she's going to win the nomination is crazy, but I don't think it's crazy. And we have to now mark this. These aren't bets, but we just have to see where we head up on all this. I do think it's crazy that she would be the nominee. I don't think it's crazy, though, if she were the nominee that she would pull something like that. Remember, there was a moment in time in 24 where the plan was don't even have her do any media. And then the pressure got too much and then they changed course and then she was disastrous in the media.

So that's why I'm saying I think she could make it a decision. Trump didn't debate in 2024. He said I'm president. People already know what I think and it ended up working out really well for him because I think if he had debated buck, then a lot of people would have roughed him up and maybe you get some sort of pivot in the direction of the campaign. Maybe it wouldn't have mattered anyway because Trump is pretty good as a debater, but he decided not to do it and there were no consequences. If you're Kamala Harris and you've already been senator and you've already been vice president and you've already run for president, I think she could make an argument that people know what she thinks. She doesn't need to get on the debate stage and she's going to do her campaign without doing it, which I think would be beneficial to her because the reality is the more people see if Kamala, the less they like her. So she's going to be in sort of the Biden basement campaign style for 2028, but I think there's no doubt that she's going to run and I think part of it is she just has nothing

else in her life that is anyway fulfilling and she has to do it. And she's been on this book tour forever, the book that you read, thank you. And she's had great. This is a little embarrassing for me because I'm our chief Kamalologist because I read her book and I would not have read her terrible book, which at least she didn't have a pack by a million dollars of it that we know of. Maybe this is standard and we just don't usually become aware that you've got all these politicians buying huge amounts of their books, that would not stun me. Actually, I don't think Gavin Newsom did something in the political world that's without precedent. My guess is it probably didn't sell like you wanted it to sell. And so they were like, okay, let's just go ahead and call in the Calvary. We'll buy 65,000 copies. I also think that there's not really another, she dot, you're right. I mean, now I'm just going to be fair to you instead of instead of trying to just poke at your theory, you're right that she is going to fill a lane, which is a Democrat minority

candidate that really is emptier than it has been for a long time. Now I know AOC is Latina and that, you know, formerly like Sandy, you know, Sandy Cortes. Yeah. But now she's, you know, she's at Exander Ocasio or test, but I, I do think though, Kamala, do you think she's going to come out and even lean more into her minority, I see this time around the last time? That would seem to be the play, right? That would seem to be the move for her as his identity politics. That's why I think the DNC wants to rig this thing. If they could persuade AOC to run, the problem they got buck is Cory Booker is like a non factor. Remember when they tried to be like, Cory Booker's the next Obama, you're a part of us. He's like the least Spartacus guy ever. The Spartacus was a badass. So Cory Booker isn't going to take away the black vote.

The governor of, of Maryland, Westmore that a lot of people had fond hopes for seems to be floundering. We can't get that Baltimore bridge rebuilt the one that got hit by the, by the boat. Like he's been a, he's not water. They've tried, they've tried to push some other minority, you know, minority hopefuls on the Democrat side forward. And it's none of them have really caught on with, with the public, with the voters, with the Democrat base. And your point about, if, if South Carolina is first and or early Kamala is actually in a really good spot. I mean, that is, that is true. That is true. I mean, you are, you are, you should mark down that I'm agreeing with him that if South Carolina is early, that is a big even talking about the DNC, which is put it, you know, they rigged the game against Bernie. They rigged it for Biden, basically, once they decided he was the guy, which states they let go first is going to be huge in telling you, what are they putting the scale, who,

are they putting the fingers on the scale for and nobody is talking about this, which is why I also think of Kamala wins. I think like, I think like Minnesota will be in play. I think they'll be states in play for Republicans that we haven't had a real shot at in quite some times. Well, I think economy is good. 100%. I think she's an awful candidate, but I think she's going to be their, their gal. Some updates here on some some stories. First off, you have a bunch of you saying that my optimism on this is coming late, like a lot of talk backs on that. No, I agree with that. You're not telling me anything. I don't know. I'm amazed at how Trump was able to flip this whole thing because without the choke point of hormones, and then Iran does have nothing. He basically looked at them and said, a lot of other administrations would have said, we can't take the risk Iran might blow up. Then this has been the look guys, I'm going back away as I've seen a lot of this analysis in my life. Right? So oh my gosh, they'll blow up an oil tanker and then what happens? But keep in mind, they haven't given up these final concessions yet. Trump is saying they will. We'll see. We'll see about that. The straight is open, but the straight was open before the final concessions on the nuclear program. That's where we're still. We'll see, but I am optimistic because the straight situation has gotten a lot better. So I mean, I can play a bunch of people and be like, oh, you weren't optimistic.

We go, yeah, guys, it's a war. Okay. I've seen what happens when they go bad. I've been, I've been there. It's not good. You don't want to be anywhere around that situation. Trump is just better at this than both Democrat and Republican administrations coming before him for my whole life, I think. Just just a more sound thinker clay. So we can play some of these talk backs, but any of you were sending it in saying, Clay's optimism was well founded. Right now. Yes, that looks to be the case. We'll see where the nuclear deal actually goes, but, but I'm, I will freely concede that Clay was like, we're just kicking ass and we got him and I was like, I'm worried and Clay's like, don't be worried. Don't be a wimp about. I'm like, I don't know. War piece. This is it. Looks like Trump maybe got him. So check me. We'll see if that's where he's got the Iranians. This is one, I know they had the poop cruise story, but kind of a funny little bit here as we finish the, the hour. There was a cruise ship stuck in the Strait of Hormuz, which I didn't hear anybody talking about. The cruise ship has now gotten out. This has to be one of the worst cruises ever.
