Should have been a hell of a lot easier than that. But it's been since 1999. I was in Bellport High School. Boomer was sitting next to Al Michaels in a booth. Al was down in Tampa doing radio in Florida. And Eddie and Jerry, well, they were here doing the same stuff that they're doing now. But it's a really, really long time ago. And I am thrilled as they match up with the number one overall seed duke on Friday, 7 o'clock. That is going to be amazing. This is what every St. John's fan wanted and expected when Rick Batino got here. And we got it. Good morning, Boomer. How are you? Yeah, I'm doing great, Jay. And I got to tell you, man, some great. I mean, absolutely great games in college basketball

4:12this weekend, including the St. John's Kansas game. This game at the beginning of it was so intense and so like physical. And I was so glad that the officials are going to let them play. There's no question about it that John St. John's needs that ability to be able to play this kind of, you know, this kind of game. And the fact that they were asking Rick Batino, you know, how they do those interviews in the middle of the game. And he basically looked at the camera and said, they don't think we can shoot. Yeah. And it turned out that they could shoot. And they did make some big shots, especially three point shots, which is such a big part of this. And now, two games that are also saying, John's a shot well from the three point line. I can't say enough about Zubi edge of four. I mean, he's just, he's all over the basketball court, defensively, offensively big plays. Everything seems to start and end with him. But I have to say that, you know, we, we thought that they, I at least I thought they were going to get to this point. Now they beat one of the best basketball players in college basketball in Peterson. Now they're going to face the boozer brothers. And that's going to be another, you know, obviously

5:18held a climb, if you will. But, you know, defense is the thing that keeps you in games all the time. And quite frankly, the only thing that I saw yesterday that that maybe bothered me a little bit. And I, you know, on a text story with a bunch of buddies, I'm like, why is Rick Betino asking for a replay when it was, it wasn't obvious that his player didn't touch the ball. Yeah. When in fact, later on in the game, there were a couple of replay scenarios. Two of them. That would have went their way. Had he would have saved it. And I know this is after the fact that I know in the heat of the moment, it's completely different. And every team has a different way of going about it. I'm not sure how it was a first guess though. It was a first guess for me. I mean, I had the benefit of the replay. You had the benefit of the replay. But to me, at that point in the game, it didn't seem necessary. Right. Exactly. And the other thing too is remember what Jean Sturtour said. He said, you know, I can't tell, obviously, it has to be clear and distinct that this is, you know, the ball wasn't touched by the St. John's player. I can't tell that. And if I can't tell that, then I can't overturn the call that was on the court. So I mean,

6:23that's the one thing that bothered me because I think we would have been talking about that. A lot more this morning had they lost. But again, like I had this team and I still have this team going to the final four. Yeah. And the reason I did was because of the way that they played defense. I wasn't expecting the three point shooting that they've shown over the last two games. And you know, when you see the, the sweet 16, there are four teams left that have a five seed or higher and or lower however you want to look at it. And you know, and that of course is St. John's at a five, Tennessee at a six, Iowa at a nine and Texas to play in game at 11. So at Iowa, just was was, um, but that was an unbelievable game yesterday. Uh, Tennessee is, is a really great story as well. But for those of us who live around here and have been wondering where the St. John's basketball program has been while the last two years, Rick Betino has resuscitated it. And I'm telling you, this game, yes, they was unbelievably exciting. Yeah. And it's, uh, it's New York basketball the

7:23way we like it. Even though it's a little bit ugly. It's, uh, it's a maximum effort. I mean, it's ugly at times. There's stretches where offense is nowhere to be found. But, uh, it is defense. It's intensity. It's big moments. These guys caring. I mean, it's, it's great two things that I love to hear and see with people who haven't watched this team throughout the year, which is, you know, the broadcasters or people that are associated with the teams that they are playing, is the broadcasters keep saying, I can't believe how hard they're playing all the time. The whole year's been right. Exactly. But it's just, they're like, wow, they just are relentless. How hard they're playing. And it was a couple of times to where I could see behind the bench, you know, whether it was coaches or people that were associated with the program with both Northern Iowa and Kansas early on in the game where they had this look on their face like, oh, god, like this is, this team is different. They're physical. They're suffocating. And honestly, they should have run them right out of the building. Now, good for Kansas, great program, great coach, star player,

8:23they were able to get back into it. But they should have run them out of the building. How about, how about the fouls at the end of the game? Well, of course. I mean, you had four fouls to give. It's amazing. You don't really get to see that much. Well, it never happens in the NBA because they made a rule against it. Exactly. But this is one of the reasons why you try not the foul. And this is how you use your fouls at the end of the game to try to reduce the amount of time that the opposing team has. They hit a winning basket and to have Dylan darling, be the darling of the tournament yesterday after not scoring all game long and just calling his own number and taking it right to the basket and then having that little scoop play in. I mean, just and then you see the way the teammates react to him. Yeah. I mean, of course, I mean, these guys love one other Rick Petito. It's funny. I'm sure Jerry will play it. But you know, he's in that time out, Dylan Darling's calling for that play. That is, that is his play and the one that you saw where he goes right to the basket and scores and and Rick agrees. And then like two seconds later, he's like, wait a second. This guy hasn't shot the entire game. But he's like, wait, I kind of like that. And,

9:26of course, it was amazing. Just beats the buzzer and everybody's going crazy. And I wish, I mean, I thought we were going to come in here today and say, wow, I mean, St. John's just dismantled two teams. But maybe this was a good thing that they had to get this scare in them from Kansas, heading into the Duke game and they're not getting too cocky. Not that I think that they would. But I mean, in this game too, I mean, there was a point where a 10 point lead felt like a 20 point lead because of how unbelievable they are defensively. I mean, they are just in your face, you could see the frustration. I can't imagine how frustrated you saw it on Bill's self. Well, especially at the beginning of the game. Yeah. Absolutely. I mean, I think they were like, what the hell are we getting ourselves into? And I and I think is that when you play a team like this, and I'll equate it in football terms of like playing the the 2000 Ravens, playing the 85 bears, they were so quick and so fast and so relentless and so much into your face that there wasn't a lot of time to make decisions. Yeah. And decision making and sports, especially when

10:31it involves either skates or running up and down for lunatics for 40 minutes, college basketball is this time of year. You can't replicate that in practice. No, you could try to tell your players. This is the way it's going to be. This is what we have to do. And then all of a sudden, outcome of the bad passes, you can't get the ball in bounds. You end up throwing it away. I mean, I just it's one thing after the next and it starts adding up. And again, this is one of the reasons why I just really knowing the St. John's team and how they play and what they're predicated on in and the foundation that coach Patino has built and how this team really has come together. I mean, it was the defense is the impressive part of it. But the other part of it is it's just like when they needed a bucket, they got one. And when they needed to get the bucket to win the game, they got one. You know, that that is and look, they had to play some, they play tough basketball.

11:33What I look at Duke, who they beat? They beat what? Sienna and they beat TCU. Yeah. So again, their numbers are going to be skewed because they're playing, you know, these high seats. Yeah, low seats, however, how do you do that? So high seats are low seats. So it's Duke, the higher seat. Yeah, the higher seat. Yeah. Yeah. Right. So the lower seat is the one that's the right. So they're playing these lower seats. You know, and it's like, all right. So that they're doing what they're supposed to be doing. Yeah. By the way, they weren't perfect either. No. I mean, but they're also the number one overall seed in the tournament and they're Duke. So, you know, Rick Patino's going to give him the proper respect. But I mean, you could the way the diss team played, how relentless they are. I mean, you'll put them up against anybody. I mean, I really believe that now that Duke's going to be more athletic. They're going to have better scores on the team, but I don't think that St. John's can't suffocate them like they've suffocated so many opponents throughout the year and then hit enough shots to be able to win the game. And that's really what it comes down to is hitting those three pointers. I want to point out, you know, I don't, it came

12:33down to Dylan Darling, but there was a, when Kansas had all the momentum in the world. They cut it to 62 61. And St. John's goes back down the floor and Hopkins hits that three. No, it's 65 61. Yes. Yes. I mean, that is that's how you win tournament. You got to hit that shot in that moment. And then I kind of relaxed until, of course, what happened in the end. But I mean, I was like, all right, you know, this is that that you were just getting completely, you know, the script was flipped completely into Kansas's favor. And that shot settled things back down. I was like, all right, you know, they're not losing. They're just, they are not losing. And you could feel the avalanche of momentum shifting. You could just see it. And then all of a sudden, you hit a shot like that. Yeah, yeah, there was right there. Right. And you're, and you're, you're playing for a team who your coach says that the other team doesn't respect our shooting essentially. Oh, yeah. And you hit a shot like that in that moment. And then again, it's like the Dylan Darling thing. That shot

13:35is big. The Dylan Darling shot is obviously huge. It wins the game for them. The way that Zubi was playing defense, the way that he was rebounding, you know, when they needed a shot, he would get into the paint and go get one. I mean, you know, they got a little bit of everything going on. You know, there could be a little charm here going for them. But I, you know what, they're substance. This is not fake. This is a, this is a team with real substance. Yeah, I mean, in all the crap that we talk about in collegiate athletics and the things that turns people off. And I understand that St. John's pays their players a lot of money. But there's one thing you can't deny. I mean, these guys are not here just to collect money and then try to get to the NBA. These guys are here to win. They're that's Kentucky. Yeah. Right. Exactly. Well, it's also Darren Peterson. You know, that's a guy like he, I mean, it's talented as he is. His, his dream was never to win a national championship. So it's like, it's situations like that. That's why I love this team so much is yeah, there's a lot of stuff that swirls around him. Yes, there's a nil collective with this team as well. But there is no denying that this group has

14:38a mission. They want to win and they're playing their asses off. They're not thinking about anything else, but winning that game in that moment. And you can't say that about every collegiate athlete these days. It's protecting their future. It's protecting their money. And I'm not going to blame them. But this group is out there. I mean, it is maximum effort from the, from the opening tip to the final buzzer. And it's just, it's, it's, it's ugly basketball at times, but it's still very, very fun. But I totally understand your point of view. Like because there, there is a turnoff factor because the amount of money that players are making. And you know, for those of us who, you know, played under scholarships and weren't allowed to make money, it is a little disconcerting and it's a little off-putting. There's no question about that. But what balances that is the, just the, the quick nature of college basketball, especially when you get the March Madness. Yeah. And you watch these players and how much it really, like, I'm not going to sit here and say that Peterson didn't want to win. I, I thought he did everything he could to help the team win. But I'm saying he doesn't want to win. It's just it's not, that's not his dream. His dreams

15:40to be the number one overall pick in the NBA. These guys dream is to beat Kansas. You know, I, I, I understand. And I do, I kind of agree with that, especially with this team. And as an selfishist, this team has been. And then when you hear, like, when you hear it, like, Zubi being interviewed. Yeah. I mean, how do you not like that guy? Just appreciate who that guy is. And he's the ultimate leader of the team. I mean, that's his team, but it's not his team. You know what I mean? Like, they're all in this thing together. And Patinos put a bunch of kids together that really believe that they can win. And you know, they have to, they're going to, they're going to go through Peterson. Now they got to go through the booze of brothers. Yeah. I mean, they got to get a lottery talking lottery picks all over the place. I mean, but this is, as you mentioned, prior to this weekend, because you had them go into the final four, it's one of those things where if they do, and you're talking about, you know, potential of beating Kansas, Duke, and you got to get to the final, which is crazy. If you can, it makes it. Yeah. And, and, and uh, St. John's makes it. It's, it's you can, St. John's number four. Yeah. I mean, it's just, and by the

16:41way, they, they started hitting shot chest 32 last night. Yeah. So I mean, I, I, I said that I was, I would be thrilled if they made it to the sweet 16 and, and, and played their ass off and gave Duke a great game. I couldn't be too disappointed with that. But, you know, after seeing them play so well, I mean, if you just take out that last couple of minutes where Kansas stormed back, I mean, those two teams, I mean, they just picked the part Northern Iowa and they were just grinding out Kansas into powder. Can you do me a favor? Yeah. I, I, I hate asking you to do this right now. And maybe you'll do it in the break. And then we'll come back on the other side of the break. Yeah. I know how you love to look up ticket prices. Oh god. I mean, think about that too. Because they're in Washington DC. Right. And isn't it both games too? Because is it you con Michigan state? Yeah. Yeah. So, so it's 50, I mean, it's 50, 50 in terms of like we're, where obviously DC is located from Duke and, of course, St. John. So I think I would imagine that those ticket prices are going to be through the roof. Yeah. I mean, I will, I will take a look. But of course, I mean, there's really no reason why there wouldn't be. Yeah, there's all different,

17:45you know, all sessions and then you got the night session and this session. So I have to take a look at it. But yeah, I mean, this is going to be an extremely hot ticket. And this is if you're not, if you're a die hard St. John's fan that always wanted to see them play in a sweet 16 and they have it done again. 99 number one overall. Yeah. Right. I mean, said if they were going to make it, it was going to be a gauntlet. Yeah. But it's almost like this. And you know what Rick Patino is saying. I mean, he's not making any excuses. He's not complaining. He's not saying we got screwed. He's saying this is the greatest opportunity you guys have ever had. I mean, the tournament's not going to be easy no matter what bracket that you're in. And here you are. And you get to prove yourself against the best. I mean, if we would have started this season, you'd said, all right, you've got an opportunity to play Duke in the sweet 16. We would have taken that right now. So anybody who's talking about negatively, I haven't heard a lot of St. John's fans since the brackets came out. But I mean, talking negatively, if we're in this bracket, we'd be playing this team and have a better chance. No, this is an opera. Look at it as one of the greatest opportunities this program has ever had. Look at it that way. There's always two ways to look at it. And of course, Rick Patino is

18:49going to be like, with a little engine that could. There's no question about it. And there's the whole lack of respect aspect to it. And you saw it in the end game interview yesterday. Yeah. And Rick finally in this year got the guys that he needed. He got the horses that he needed to play his style and do what he wanted to do. If you remember, after that first year, I mean, he came out and just said, there's going to be a lot of guys that aren't going to be here next year. Because in order to play for me, you've got to be sick in the head about basketball. This is what he said. Actually went back and watched this yesterday. And I don't have those guys right now. And we're going to get those guys. But a lot of guys are not going to be here. And then last year, he had a bunch of those guys, but not all of those guys. And now this year, he does. He's got him. He's got that team. He finally was able to construct finally a couple of years. But it was able to get from top to bottom the exact team he needs to win in March. And he's winning. Like this, the game's on a line. I'm going to take it all the way to the hole and I'm just one of these sweeping kind of

25:12layups. Yeah, I mean, probably a lot because he's put a lot of basketball but I mean, this one counted. This is the one. When I saw this angle, which CBR on Delay, we're seeing it. At first, I'm like, what did they do? Just let him run right to a tough shot that he made. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, I mean, like, he, it's like a sweeping right handed. Let's throw it off. Almost like a jump hook as he's falling in towards the basket. I mean, a defender was right there. He was. And so they win 67-65 as they do advance, Zubi Etcher 4 and Bryce Hopkins at 18 points apiece. So they're going to take you back to January. You will remember Rick Patino said this about Dylan Darling. Dylan Darling, he's got balls as big as church bells. I mean, it's unbelievable. Now, I bring that up because he's going to talk about bells, which is what he calls him, as he tells the story about how that play came to be from Darling in the huddle. He is the amazing thing and the funniest thing I've ever been involved with. So we're going to run a play and but they got fouls to give and bells comes up to me and says run power,

26:13which is a high back screen pick and roll. So I walk away. I said, okay, power. And then as he walked away, he then realized, wait a second, he hasn't scored a bucket and he wants to run a play for himself. And then I'm thinking as I'm walking and I said, but he's bells. And not only did he do it, he went with his right hand. So real proud of him because to want the ball, when you haven't made it a shot is unbelievable. Unbelievable. They clipped it at the end, but yes. So kind of a cool story right there. Here was Darling himself going out and getting it done. I'm just glad to win it because if it didn't, you know, I'm probably not on the flight back to New York tonight. So happy to win in. But happy to do it for coach. So first sweet 16 appearance and 27 years for St. John's go back to 1999. And the last time they did that, Ian Jackson at 10 points off the bench. Did you see the two Kansas players on the right side of Darling? When he comes down, just like look at him watching.

27:15He would buy him, yeah. Probably afraid to reach in and get called for a foul. Exactly. Just given those three fouls. Exactly what happened. Yeah. And in the bonus, but time and space, you would also think close out, make them pass it on. I don't know if there would have been enough time to get a shot off if they would have passed into the corner, but maybe they would have who knows. Darren Peterson did a 21, but he was five of 15. Again, St. John's defense was really, really good other than maybe that last couple of minutes where Kansas came back. St. John's Duke in the sweet 16 Friday night, seven p.m. in Washington, D.C. In the meantime, Yukon also advanced. They will play 930 Friday night in Washington. They beat UCLA 7357. So I'm going to take you back to Saturday now. This was Mick Cronin, the UCLA head coach after they won their first round game. And they were getting set to play Yukon. So the theme was Yukon UCLA, Mick Cronin, Danny Hurley. And Cronin was asked about the idea that he and Hurley take a lot of heat from national media about their sideline demeanor. This was Cronin on Saturday.

28:16It's ridiculous. Everybody needs to get a life, bro. Get a life, man. Come on, man. Get a life, bro. You want to win big, but you think coach Hurley is not supposed to be intense, but you want to win. Come on, man. We're not coaching little league, buddy. Everybody doesn't get in that bad. You know, come on, man. Paying us a lot of money to win games. So the theory there is, come on, man. Get a life, man. Get a life, bro. You get where he's coming from. So then they lose. 73-57 was the final. And then he was asked about getting past this point at UCLA. Do you feel like anything needs to change with the approach or after construction or the way you're going? Yeah, I have no right now. I'm worried about tonight, consoling the guys. We'll stay here in the front row. I'd like about five more million. There's my answer. It's hard to get more players. It's amazing. And they had a lot of money, I believe. I'm pretty sure they're paying a little over $12 or $13 million.

29:17Yeah. I mean, they have like, you know, this is a historical basketball institution. And we'll tell you, though, you wouldn't know it out there. Like when I went out there, like, yeah, it's neat when you use the volume. It's pretty cool. Very cool. And when you see the wooden statue, it's amazing. You go in, you see the banners, the names, all of it. But they're not sold out. They were paying people before anybody. Well, understood. Here's Danny Hurley. So now going forward. He got 27 from Alex Karabin in this win yesterday. They'll get Michigan State again, 930, which will follow the St. John's game. And so what Hurley here is imploring are the St. John's fans and the Yukon fans to make it a very, very difficult environment for Duke and Michigan State. It's pretty brutal on Twitter. I think it's social between our fan bases. But I think we got to kind of try to come together on Friday night against our opponents. So that then we could have a bloodbath on some day. So they can play that four-game. I mean, he is a maniac.

30:19I actually bought these coaches and Danny Hurley are pretty funny. Of course. It's hilarious. Yeah, you know, someone who was getting criticized was Kevin Willard over the weekend because he was doing that whole thing about I got a fire in my coaching staff. And then he did it again in the post game. So he did it in the interview where he's like, I got a fire some coaches in the post game. He's like, well, I got a fire some coaches. But he didn't do it. He never smiled or anything. And people are like, is he serious? And then he's like, well, come on. Of course, it's a joke. Or Patino will say something and then like, you know, shoot a look like I have just messing with you.

31:20But Willard is just, he just looks like a D bag 24 seven. You know? Yeah. Oh, yeah. Iowa beat Florida's 73 72. Alvaro Fulgaris with the go ahead three with four seconds left and then Florida. Terrible play. Running down the floor where I think it was Evie and Lee just like gets caught under the basket and just throws the pass to nobody. So I did never been in that position. His strange. Yeah. All of a sudden you find yourself in this position where all of a sudden all hell's breaking loose. And you don't have bells as your point call. They do not have bells. That is true. Virginia 79 72 wins for Arizona Purdue Iowa State and for Alabama. All right. The next did play a game yesterday. They got past the nets on Friday. Well, there was no surprise here. I think we just continue to play our style. We had some lapses defensively. But for the most part, we were able to get stops and kind of just play our game. But they can actually catch Boston. I mean, they're right there. Yeah. They're right there. One of the loss. And amazing. Detroit is one three in a row. That's without what's his name. He could come in him. So they're not going to catch him. But the thing about the Boston situation, even the way the brackets are in the NBA, it's still going to be Boston and New York in the same side of the bracket. Doesn't matter. Two, three. Yeah. They're going to be on the same side of the bracket. Really what it would come down to if they end up playing, you know, in a series together would be who would have to the seventh game at home is basically what it comes down to. But as we saw last year, the next. Doesn't matter. Freight to win in Boston. No issues. Yeah. Here was Mike Brown solid as compared to maybe Friday night in Brooklyn, which wasn't.

33:21We talked about it. You know, a lot of biggest things making our opponent feel us and we did better job in that area. You know, I thought we did a nice job moving the ball and trying to take the right shots. We had a couple of turnovers in that first quarter that we wish we had back. But I thought overall, it was a lot better than what we've done in the past. You have back to back games against two teams that are trying to like tank for the number of one or two overall picks. Well, the nets gave them a run. Yeah, I know they did. I mean, I give the players a lot of credit for sure. I'll give you a look into what it's like to be a net. We talk about it all the time, but to hear these guys discuss it and what they realized, the opposing fans, how bad it is. Oh, no, man. Just see a blue, see orange. Every game we play, see the other team. I mean, I saw it here when I was on the Celtics. But being here, it's like, I've done nothing for respect for like the real fans. The Jets beat the Rangers in a shootout 3-2. And there wasn't much scoring in the Islanders game, but the Isles got the one and only goal that was needed. Here's a chance with four fat hymen to the net. The first shot of the game is a bullet from Bob Eustler. It sure was one nothing at that point and that was it. The Isles beat the Blue Jackets, one nothing. Elias Sirokin made 26 saves. Here's his head coach, Patrick Waw. Elias, a person that I think that loves to compete and he did a really nice job. I mean, it's not easy coming back from I'm telling you. It's not easy coming back after a couple of losses like we have. But he's show a lot of character and that's one of reason why he's a leader on our team. And so a good win is they are fighting to get into the playoffs. It's amazing how they have more wins than it seems in front of them in the playoffs.

38:26Regular wins. Yeah. It's just that third point that goes over time and should out as a ridiculous man. They got to do something about it. It just, it happens every year. I know, but just it's frustrating for any fan of a team where you have your regular season, regular wins. Like the gallons have 40 regular wins. And you know, because those teams like the jackets have 11 points from those overtime losses. Yeah, I like those. I'd rather it's fine. It's outside the islanders only have five of those points. Are they going to play off game with me? No. I'm going to go see your son-in-law or your grandson-in-law. Yeah, I saw him yesterday. No, but you go watch him skate. We paid $1980 for sweet 16-Ele day. And we were like 20 rows off the foul line in the lower portion. So really good seat. I just look now for the same ticket. Looks to be about $4,500 for this week. Yeah, and it is wild. Brad, you're right on it and that's a great gift to now that I worked out the way that it did. But the get in the door price for the, not for the also the elite eight,

46:43just Duke St. John's Yukon, Michigan State, up in the corner, all the way up in the $400, is $531. That is the cheapest ticket in the building for those two basketball games. So would that be you get both games? Yes, you get both games. All right, okay. But I think they're gonna, the secondary market's gonna be higher than that. That's not the secondary market. No, it is. Oh, it is. I mean, we're talking up in the corner. We're talking, by the way, there are a lot of these, like if you're a St. John's fan, you're not staying for Yukon, Michigan State. No, no, but what there, we'll say having three of the four teams relatively close to DC. Yeah, it's huge. Like, all right. And that's why, and I know that these sessions tend to sell out anyway. It doesn't matter. But this is where you get the fan bases coming from the teams. You know what I mean? So give me a general vicinity where you would like to sit. Let's just say, all right, I like this vantage point

47:43from a basketball arena. And I got, I got to be, I got to be like, so I was like the center court. Yeah, yeah. I would go out probably to the middle of the benches. Okay. And up about 20 rows. Okay, so those aren't even available. Okay. The 112 for the teams. That's why. 112, 110, 101, 101, 21. But those could be family seats. Right. So at center court, if you want row T in the 100s. Yes. The cheapest ticket you can get is $3,541. Yeah, I'm not going. Yeah, see about that. I mean, that just shows you. I mean, you feel like you say, oh, it's two games. But yeah, a lot of these people that don't stay for both games. Some do that are basketball junkies. Others are just fans of the team and they're going to go for the one game. You know, it's really amazing. This is really where the basketball junkie comes out, just simply because these games are so intense and they are so like, they're over quickly. You know, it's not like you're waiting. It's two and a half hours.

48:43Yeah. Yeah. And it's up and down. And it's just, it's amazing. Just watching these kids play at this level. I mean, I know they're getting paid. And I know that's all putting. Like I said earlier, but man, you, you, this like one of the best, especially when you have a team that's in it, like the way that Shane Johns is for us. But man, it is, it's just awesome basketball. Well, I mean, in a game like we watched with St. Johns and Kansas, not once was I, even with the most high-profile player in the nil era this year, in Darren Peterson on Kansas. I wasn't thinking about it at all. You know, I was thinking about how hard these guys are playing, how desperately they want it, getting back to a sweet 16. So yes, it is, it is definitely everywhere you look. And it is off putting to a lot of people. But in these moments, especially if you're someone who has been with St. Johns and you were, you were there going to games at Karnaseka Arena in the Norm Roberts era. You were there those last couple of years with Mike Anderson before Rick Patino got there. You were desperately trying to support Chris Mullin

49:45when he was there, all these things. And then you're watching that game and chance to get to the sweet 16. You're not thinking about who's getting paid, who's not getting paid. Is there a, a more different style of team? Then Duke's first round match up, which was Sienna, who only played five guys. Yeah. Compared to St. Johns, this is going to, St. Johns is going to play 10 guys. Sure. And, you know, give a lot of credit to the Sienna kids because they had to lead a half time and everybody thought, maybe just, maybe this could be like the ultimate Cinderella story. And by the way, Jerry McNamara is, you know, going to become the new head coach at Syracuse. Yes, which was, which was absolutely a lock of all locks. He had to go and figure out if he could coach somewhere else. The answer was yes. And now Syracuse and the situation they're in goes and gets one of their own. I felt bad for those Sienna kids because they just, they got worn out. They just, yeah. There's no way. You could tell, the shots were coming up short. They were throwing balls away. I mean, they were exhausted. Yeah.

50:45Well, that's not going to happen with St. Johns. That's what I'm saying. This team doesn't get tired. You could see that, you know, Duke rolled in the second half against TCU. I mean, you know, was TCU that great of a team? No. Come on. Come on. Come on, man. Like Mick Cronin. Come on. Come on, bro. Come on, bro. Yeah. I mean, this, you throw these guys up against anybody with the defensive intensity. Like I said, there's like the color comes out of the face over the fans of the other team when they see how relentless St. Johns is. It just feels different to them. Like these guys, and this defense is crazy. I mean, think about the, you know, amount of points that they have given up you know, neither one of these teams that they played have reached 70. You know, well, I know. And that's the point. That's where they got to win these games. And I would just say, like every point guard that plays against them and every team that plays against them, you can't replicate it in practice. You just can't. No. I mean, and that's, you know, the, the attitude that you need to take down big programs

51:45is exactly what Rick Patino has instilled in these kids. And there wasn't a single person. Who was bitching about anything in the St. Johns program, publicly at least, about having to go to San Diego and getting the draw of Kansas and being in Duke's bracket as well. Not, not anybody. Not a player. Not a coach. Not the SID. No, the fans might have been complaining about it. But Rick has, I mean, that's the mentality. It's, it's opposed to sitting there. Oh, there's, well, it was me. And I can't believe it, blah, blah, blah. No, screw that. Go out there and beat these guys. If you believe that you should have been treated differently, you're better than what they say you are. Well, now you've got an opportunity to prove it. On the biggest stage possible. Against Duke.
